Harabe or the hell of the north is the queen of the classics and for many the toughest and most famous of the one day races and this race is steeped in history crashes and even Misfortune as we saw last year with dere G in the aronburg forest last year was also match
Of anipo in an atic fashion won the race and attacked away with also his rival W vard getting some bad luck as well but the two at least Shar the podium with yasper philipson in the end but this race steeped in so many different sectors so many hard sectors and the
Rough Cobble roads on this area is certainly something to look forward to but before we get into the video make sure to hit the like button and subscribe to the channel here on the cycling day extra and check out our podcast on Spotify as well nevertheless
In today’s video we’ll look into the top five favorites or some of the favorites of the 2024 edition first on our list is the European Champion Crystal laort who’s missed a few races with illness therefore it’s a bit of a gamble for me to put him on the list maybe he will be
Eager to do a result after that pause and has had a bit of form and maybe still has some of that form he had early on the European Champion was strong in the opening Classics where he looked like he wasn’t too pressure and he was also 10th last year with his teammate
While V AR taking third as mentioned he has the characteristics to follow all the moves he’s got a very strong misis Malisa bike Team around him if it is him they choose to go for but there is also Dy man Bal but he didn’t look great at
The tour of lunders Crystal laort a bit of a Outsider and I would definitely love to see the European Champion do well in the race next on the list is Nils pollet and the UAE new boy has had a good start to the season Not only was
He part of the Paris n winning time child he also finished second in oml after losing out in the Sprint to Yan tratnik seventh in E3 and even was third in a very tough edition of the tour fly ERS so it could be that given the nature
Of paray that this suits him a bit more than the rolling Cobble climbs of Flanders and it was also a very wet day to say the least he certainly has remarkable form right now and he might be the best shot for U memores to do a
Podium or even a top five in par Bay this year poet famously finished second to Philip in 2019 so he certainly has the experience to do well in the race and if you can follow the Right Moves and stay out of trouble I don’t see why
Pollet can’t be the one that UAE get the real big result from before we coming into the top three yes we’ve moved it I’m going to do some honorable mention and the first one is the young 20-year-old Welshman Josh taring who will ride his second power of bay after
Debuting last year and we could have put Gana here but I’m going to go for him and he’s had an incredible year this year again winning at time Char stage as we know in the Cino and even finishing sixth in the dwo flandre before going on
To finish 17th in the tour of Flanders so maybe the young welman can do something spectacular here Antonio Mado as well another fresh face in his Neo Pro season even though he managed to do some quite considerable results in terms of finishing second in Lam men and even
Finished fifth in the tour of Flanders and that spectacular UA memor performance equally also Luca mosato is a surprise on this list as he was for many people a surprise in the tour of Flanders as the Italian sprinted to his first Monument Podium and maybe with
This form he can be in the mix for AE result nevertheless coming into to number three and this is the man who is claimed as the fastest man on two wheels right now the green jersey winner from the Tour of France yasper philipson who has had a great start to the year
Winning a stage in terano along with an incredible display in Milan San rmore where he really rolled with the punches and won in an incredible Sprint as well as winning the buger Panic classic and even managed the top 10 in get weev game last year philipson was marking what
Bernard as machuan for was flying up the road and managed to outs spray his countrymen to take second place and his first Monument pum and he will look to emulate his teammate by winning not only Milan San Remo as he has done but also to win paray in the same year next on
Our list is mass pillow and we have to include a Danish rer we all know this by now and he has had a great year despite that bad showing at the tour Flanders which I would say was more about the Tactical mishap by attacking 85 km out and thereafter fading towards the Finish
But this can maybe be explained by his unfortunate crash at DW flandrin and potentially he just wanted to test the legs before paru Bay equally in that DW thundering crash they also lost yasper Sten and Alex K two riders that could have potentially been here for m p so
That’s a bit of a shame the Dane however has had a great season so far having dominated in both at 12 de Bes and toward L Province and he was also in the mix for Milan San rmo where he narrowly missed out on the pum finishing fourth
After a superb effort from his team again m p proved before that crash his form was great in get wam where he was up there with match vano on the chemel Bo and won the final Sprint and really improved his form and I definitely think without that crash we could have had him
Up there in contention for Tor fonders but that aside M Pon has the engine and Sprint to be up there in p and last year in Ru M Pon had a great result his best so far finishing fourth behind the podium party of the Benelux Riders so
Hopefully he can do one better this year and get on a power Bay Podium nevertheless now we’re coming to number one and obviously this is going to be match of anop the double world champion has been absolutely flying this year on the road not even considering his cypr
Cross season and with his teammate heroics in Malo helping yper philipsson win that along with that he also won an E3 riding away from everyone and in get wam just losing out to mass pilson before in Tor Flanders he showed the true power of cycle cross Riders
Attacking on the wet cinberg with a 43 km attack and some real great teamwork from his teammates as well to Mark any of the potentially dangerous moves along the race Mach manipul is a sensational Rider and he proved last year that he can absolutely win this race and there
Are not many riders who can rival him when he’s on this form especially what he showed in tour of Flanders a Manipur if he were to win would become another Rider to complete the ters parate double something that has not been AED since 20 2013 where it was Fabian cancellaro who
Did so and if he did it this would be the 13th occasion when this has been achieved but not since 1962 has anyone done it as a world champion and that was Rick van Loy so maybe he can add another achievement to his remarkable career butman bipo with the team really is one
Of the strongest outfits we’ve seen in a while and with his rival W not out with an injury and him having potentially one of the strongest just allies with him we could be in a scenario where man manipul and yasper philipson sprinted out in the r v drum but anyways that’s basically it
For this video make sure to hit the like button subscribe to the channel here on the pying Dame exra Channel check out the Spotify podcast as well and we will have the preview show up shortly as well and on top of that we have the new channel the cycling day action where I

An honorable mention would also deserve Max Walscheid. He rode a really good Ronde, is even better at Roubaix and his DS is Matt Hayman.😉
If it rains again and its a crash fest well anything could happen. If dry only one winner on current form.
I think this could go to Pedersen similar to GV, beating MvdP in the sprint.
I'll reserve full judgement of predictions until the preview show since my predictions hinges on the way I expect it to be raced. But one thing that is peculiar to me is the start-lists. Some teams only have 3 riders confirmed, or even 1 in the case of Ineos, according to PCS. Isn't the race a week out? Why would you wait until this close to the start to confirm your 7 riders you are taking to P-R? Noticed this because I usually try to pick out riders based on complete start-lists so that was a disappointing sight to see.
It all depends how mvdp recovers, he looked somewhat empty after Tour of Flanders. Might just be a suprise winner this edition
thecyclingdane: " . . . and this was my top favourites for Paris Roubaix 2024"
Biniam Girmay: "FORK" . . .
Good preview. Looking forward to this race.
Pedersen QUARANTEED
MVDP. Everyone else going for second/podium
The weather is predicted to be dry for PR so there will be only one winner, and I think Philipsen will come second again.
If I had a outside bet it would be the bad boy of cycling Gianni Moscon, it will rain leading up to the PR weekend and if the roads are sufficiently muddy and the going heavy, he's a guy who may surprise.
Dark horses : Garcia Cortina, Rex, Degenkolb, Meeus
How the fk is he so good already, he's only done couple races this year
depends on the weather, if a couple of cyclist get around and none does not do his team work, they can beat any favourie.
"testing" the legs at flanders is a bit of a stretch, its quite a big race you know…
Hahaha,we have to have a Dane. Well duh!
Short answer: NO!
Good stuff. Just a friendly suggestion: add text–add the names of the riders. I found it hard to hear that you were talking about Laporte, for example. So adding the riders names on the screen would be a nice feature, even better for those who don't speak English as their native tongue.
Max Walscheid… watch out 👍💯
Mads Pedersen made last week as hard as possible in order to win this sunday! One does not win over MVDP in a single race but does it over a couple instead…..only tactic that works. Less recovery for MVDP the higher posibility that he cant charge/dictate the race finals means Mads has higher chance og Winnig😊
