So here I am at the front of the race with Ben who’s at the age of 62 the odds of me winning a race are winning winning pretty slim shall we say despite being an England Masters Runner and having won many races age category actually coming

First or even on the podium is pretty slim but being at the front of the race well that’s a completely different question isn’t it see the Finish Line how long can I be at the front of a race let’s face the facts yeah I’m 62

And the races that I turn up to as I said the odds of me running is diddly squat I’m competing against super fast Runners half my age who’ve been running twice as long as me yeah that’s right I’ve only been running eight years so these guys in their 30s and 40s are

Running super fast 20s as well they’ve been running for many years so the odds of me winning is pretty slim unless I turn up at maybe a local Turkey Trot or a Santa run in the hope that on that very same day all the fast Runners have

Gone to a proper race rather than one of those then maybe there’s a chance of me being on the podium but yes I am on the course of a very famous race that takes part here in Worcester this is the Riverside Park path and it’s at about

About Mile 10 of the Worcester ring run which is a 22m 12 trail twail trail race that takes part here every year yeah it’s quite a race yes and a lot of you subscribers have taken part in this race I’ve taken part in the full

Race as well so I’m sure you’re Keen to find out how long can I be at the front of the race so to spice things up and give me a bit of a chance to be at the front of a race for a while I didn’t take part in

The H race no no no I jumped on the course right here as I say at about Mile 10 but I give got to give a bit of a caveat here and sort some excuses up front before you’re about to see what happens yes that there are some relay

Races so they would have changed batons literally just before they come on this section if they’re part of a relay team and if they’re single solo runners then they would have done 10 miles up to that point so I literally just jumped on the course here with the leaders and see how

Far I can keep going with the leaders yeah and there some of them as I say I didn’t know at the time whether they relay runners or solo Runners but sit back and enjoy and see what happens yeah would you believe I’ve timed it just right for the lead Runner to will

Be appearing here and here he comes are you the man in the lead uh yeah I’m doing it as a PA all right can I run with you of course anyway good to see you what’s your name Ross Ross so here I am at the front of the race with

Ross and he’s going at quite a pace and I can’t keep up anyway enjoy mate have fun thank you very so I don’t know if you gathered that but he is one of a team of two so obviously the uh dual teams with good athletes like them I recognize that

Shirt are going to be going at a super clip yeah really fast are you in the lead yes can I run with you come on hey here I am at the front of the race yes and I’m with what’s your name Rob Rob nice to meet you Rob you’re going at quite a

Clip aren’t you here I think I second no you’re behind are you at a relay you’re in second so the guy in front is part of a relay how far is H um half a kilometer anyway enjoy thank you see you later bye bye-bye again I think that guy is part of the

Relay these guys are flying through eventually I’ll come up with someone who’s actually uh running on their own at the uh at the yes taking part as a uh instead of a two twers relay a oneperson relay yeah is there such a thing you know they

They’re racing it on their own but wow these guys are flying now I know I’ve got a bit cold and wet here waiting but boy these bling fast are you in the lead no yes are you solo yes can I run with you course you go right come on in

Right you’ve done the um the half and half no no no I was going to say what’s your name Ben Ben so here I am at the front of the race with Ben who’s running solo there’s a few guys in front but they’re part of the relay how are you

Feeling Ben you want the first solo guy to come through I don’t believe it yeah there’s a few just behind you though so strong on behind you got to keep up feeling good yeah so far good excellent excellent I did a few years ago and then

The last couple of years I did the last couple of Miles were a bit hard work yes so trying to keep a bit in this tank for that and some sweets excellent what sweets have you got what would you recommend busy ones from just your last oh okay yeah from diglas yeah excellent

Well I got to say you’re going pretty fast oh thank you I’m worn out already bit slippy today yes well thankfully the uh rain is abating a little bit Yeah but uh yeah just back to Dage now that’s right nothing to it hey nothing to

Itoo I think at this pace I’m going to leave this man to it and have a chat with so many others enjoy take care oh man that’s hard work and these guys are doing like 22 miles at this pace right I’m just going to catch on

With I can see two three and four now so number 27 how you doing feeling good no it’s cold and wet I want to go home yeah are you running solo yeah yeah excellent so you’re in second place oh wow excellent keep it going mate keep it going thank you thank you take

Careo and that was P2 and we got a couple more here how you doing guys how you mind if I run with you a bit so you’re running together yeah as a Duo yeah excellent so you do know you’re in he’s in P2 your P3 first lady no no there’s another guy

Who’s Miles Ahead oh no those two are in the relay split relay no no there’s another one as well is there yeah yeah I think so but they were flying at some Pace but keep it going mate you’re doing well well yeah we we having a chill chill enjoy thank you enjoy wow

Yeah I think uh I’m [Laughter] done this racing malar is tough work isn’t it did you enjoy that yeah it was a bit of fun yeah there there’s no chance of keeping at those Paces for a long period of time it’s December height of winter and I don’t really like running in uh

Those kind of conditions but it was good fun to see how long I could keep going up with as I say these guys who are half my age been running twice as long and it just goes to show how fit and healthy and fast these guys are and however fast

We all think we are there’s always someone who’s quicker than us but it was a lot of fun and I very much enjoyed everybody who let me film as I was going along and uh yeah it was quite an experience being at the front feeling the sharp end and the speed that these

Guys are going at is quite unbelievable and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone to try maybe if you’re on a bike and cycling at the front that’s a completely different kettle of fish yeah and uh a bit of fun but yeah I hope you enjoy this video and I’ll be sharing

Some more fun stuff as we go along this year so be sure to thumbs up subscribe and hit that alarm Bell and I look forward to sharing with you some great Epic Adventures here on chatty Adventures
