Not often do we get to ride natural trails in the middle of the capital city. Helsinki is an exception and exceptional are also the trails there. Riding natural trails in Central Park is an excellent XC excercise with many technical features while Trail Centre in Paloheinä is a fantastic place to practise jumping, cornering or just have a plenty of fun.

Howdy-ho you’re watching MTV saw me already the fifth episode of our trip tip series welcome to Helsinki The capital of Finland was established in 1550 and it’s a capital since 1812 when it took over from Turku and nowadays there are 650,000 people living there the city is situated on a tip of a peninsula and more than 300 Islands out of which the most famous suomenlinna

Played an important part in the history of the city and it is a unesco world heritage site nowadays huge advantage of the coastal cities is the water transportation and Helsinki is no different in fact there are around 11,000 places to park your boat unless you want to sail in winter then it might

Get a little bit tricky since Helsinki is the world’s called as capital with an early average temperature below 0 degrees Celsius there are also around 120 rainy days each year so you better pack an umbrella if you’re going for a visit and if you indeed are coming for a visit from

Abroad you will be treated with a very convenient Airport which serves about 20 millions other passengers every year and sits only about an hour bike ride from the city centre but we know and hope that you wouldn’t come to write in the city center since there are many nice

Trail sites and bike parks around Helsinki the ones we will write today in the Central Park and Paulo Heine trail centre are in the heart of Helsinki only about 30 kilometres north and cloud Cola is the torniquet SCU’s bike park and 30 corners northwest is another bike park

In nuke co you can also stay close to the airport and right in the sipping kirpan a tional park with fabulous natural trails closest mountain biking races are Luke K MTB in Luke Kinney respo cursor 96 and V aramaki xeo in Bonta and possibly some races of the

Fundo rock up in Nuuk co or tony has goose however this are only a small part of over 3000 unique events held in Helsinki every year in 1952 the stadium behind me was the main venue for the Summer Olympic Games in 2007 and Helsinki hosted the 52nd

Song contest while in 2012 the capital of Finland became the World Design Capital which was sort of confirmed by building a special dog who swimming lessons for puppies are especially popular and just like the first episode deserved a special bike I think the capital deserves one as well

So today I’m not gonna be writing my own bike not that I wouldn’t like to write you honey through my sweetie but I will need a little more trouble and comfort today you know but I promise I’m gonna take you for the POV footage alright okay and

You have probably already noticed that I have been riding the special bike already but let’s take a look at it it’s this one it’s the 2020 santa cruz i tower – with full carbon frame suspension is a mix of brands with 150 millimeters RockShox yuri up front eight

Hundred and forty millimeters fox float performance DPS down back braking power is brought by SRAM guide our while moving you forward will do one by twelve rum and X Eagle group set with 11 to 50 teeth on the cassette and 30 teeth on the front chainring the bikes is on 29

Inch wtbs t rims with 2.4 inch Max’s mini on thr tires front and back on the other hand you will sit on the WT v Silverado race subtle and the Race Face a affect dropper post with hundred and fifty millimeters travel gotta gotta let’s grab a coffee oh come

On just spin to the side We’re going to split today’s reading into three parts who are gonna start in this sweet little bike park and then we’re gonna head north through the couscous busto so the Central Park to Paulo hang a trail Center maybe I skip the first part get ready on your marks [Applause] trails in the Central Park are about $13 long depending on the route you take since this trail sarnath mark if you’re a beginner picker is carefully because there are many technical difficulties on the trails – you’re out riding a hard tail here might be considered break but

If you’re up to left challenge make sure you have a dropper post at very least [Applause] Now you want to grab another cup of coffee you can do so in the northern part of couscous boost or in this mono uncle kallu Maya it is very peaceful and cozy with that nice and warm family atmosphere and many possibilities to sit outside and enjoy your snack in the

Fresh air I will grab my second breakfast and then we’ll continue to the north to Paul Henne Trail Center where we will write local downhill trails and afterwards we will grab a lunch in another outdoors hut and palutena see you on the hill so there you have it we’re near the top

Of the hill here in Palo haina there are quite many good trails leading down from all the sides of the hill and these are very well maintained by local riders so you’ll find many nice features like berms drops or jumps I will show you a couple of these trails and after the

Riding we’re gonna head down to the oil mile and have a lunch let’s go [Applause] [Applause] Uncle Maya in Paula Hina is just like the one in mana open every day of the week from 10:00 p.m. weekdays and 10:00 to 6:00 on the weekends and you can choose from the selection of sweet pastries pancakes or warm soup I’m going to grab the delicious Finnish sausage

Soup and then we’re gonna finish the other half of the trails in the Central Park but don’t worry we’re gonna come back here and have the final summer session let’s go is this way [Applause] And finally the Selna here and follow a nice open on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening and it costs only five years let’s go This mud is epic I had so much fun on it especially having this bike at hand the Santa Cruz high tower – very very nice bike thanks to Aden pura for lending me this machinery it’s amazingly stable in the air and the rice like a tank down the

Hill you can basically ignore all the features and it’s gonna eat them for breakfast but it gets a bit harder when pedaling which is definitely a massive weakness of this trail bike or as I would almost say an enduro bike I also had a lot of understeer with this

Extremely wide handlebars so I would cut them down a little bit but that’s only a matter of personal style in general I’m sure a lot of people will enjoy it in the bike box like the one here in Palo haena anyway this is all from me today

If you want to see the full trail footage from the trails and couscous busto or here in Palo hey not just clean click the link down below this video there are trail pages where you can find information about the trails and that full trail video and if you enjoyed the

Video just share subscribe leave us a like and just make sure you ride your bike I’ll see you the next one

    1. Täytyy vähän ihmetellä, mikä ihmeen tyyppi puhuu englantia videossa, jossa on otsikko suomeksi, ja käyttää videon ensimmäiset 5min ihan johonkin muuhun kuin pyöräilyyn.
