Hi there today I’m in Sunderland a place I grew up a place I love a place that’s uh changing rapidly so I want to show you what it’s like uh so you can form your own opinions on whether you think it’s coming back to life or if it looks a bit sad and

Dying in my opinion well this is a Sunday I’m I am going to be upfront about that it’s a Sunday it’s getting on for 4 quarter to 4 so things are shutting very soon anyway so that’s why it might look a bit dead at the minute this is

The famous blenford street one of the major streets in the city center of sundl as you can see everything looks shut except for the horn Bargains uh another thing you’ll notice about sundland not much graffiti which is a a really nice thing and what little graffiti there is seems to be quite well

Done and tasteful so anyway all back to the little tour of Sunland so you can get your opinions formed sunland’s currently going through a sort of Revival uh city fell dead for many years Lords of money is getting pumped back into it and this ladies and gentlemen is one

Of the fruits of that labor the new station at least the above level of the station down below hasn’t had much done yet but might as well have a little look in so I don’t know how much this cost I’ll put it on the screen so that was a little look at the

New steer what do you think uh the price obviously I’ll put on there so you can work out whether it’s worth it this is Mark with square sundland there used to be a market here once upon a time now there is a CFE knee roll uh I think there’s a test go coming

There but on a Sunday it’s not very busy it does get busy here CX that’s the major shopping center but I don’t think you can fil them in there so I’ll give that a miss and the next place I’m going to go is a place called kale Square which has

Had loads of money pumped into it as well uh couple of big names coming there the botanist I think it was or The Alchemist Bar but for now have a little look that’s the old station we’ll have a little look inside if you D come to sundland the

Places you can go look is it on the screen you can actually get to Newcastle uh London sorry from sundland which is a bit of a surprising thing we do have a direct line all the way down the East Coast looks like there’s none today Sunday though so there you go

Got quite a few Gregs in sundland as well and there’s a second pound shop within a two minute walking distance so this is uh the High Street where we do have a marks and Spencer that’s the most premium shop we’ve got I think we don’t have a weight Rose

Um got some police presence here as well but anyway back to the marks and spener it’s actually going to close down soon so the full building is designed for the Mark Spencer and it’s going to disappear soon so God knows what that will become bit of presence there something must be going

On that’s influencer so he must be a YouTuber hopefully Sean Sunland in a good light too I tell you what actually I’m really surprised that uh we’ve only had one little Heckle and it wasn’t even that bad because Sunland is is terrible sorry for uh filming in really bad I’ve done it in

Other major cities uh Newcastle London York oh that’s good actually I’ll have to look back was that positive or negative I didn’t say uh but somebody needed to find out swiftly in the middle of a street so yeah uh sunland’s quite about to film in usually and I’m really

Surprised those kids didn’t at least stab us a few times so this is another major redeveloped area in sundland and it’s actually one of the most beautiful places in the city now it’s called keale Square and them are the new bars doing really well that’s the new city hall on the

Other side got a massive Times Square esque uh what’s it called advertising screen I don’t know if you can see through the Gap there but that’s a The Stadium of Light which is a really beautiful Stadium actually we’ll have a little look over there there’s the new car park for the

City center even though shops do appear to be leaving in draws there is other things common to sundland which would make it worthwhile parking your car here and spending the deer or whatever loads of Redevelopment on this area actually this is called the Bo site

So what it is it used to be a a brewery Brewery really popular especially in the Northeast and especially Sunland and I can’t remember why closed we closed many years ago and everyone’s always wanted stuff done here we finally have got many things happening some people are still not up here but it’s

Going to be it’s like a b this is a business area now and as you can see it does look really beautiful so these are new offices looks like a Asian pagod that would be officers new car park there this is City Hall used to be a Civic Center that was

Really a disgusting building on the other side of the city and they’ve updated it and moved it here and it’s it is nice uh the council have sorted themselves out lovely with that show you some of the other things another thing that’s happening here is on the other side of the

River obviously it’s been feeling a little bit every every city has its problems and we’ve had some problems there’s a massive River dividing the city and there could be things done so finally things are getting done done on the other side of the river and there’s going to be a foot Bridge here

Somewhere so that’ll have easy access for people over the water to drift into town on foot if you do bring your car this roads more car Parks we got about seven now in the city center I think or 20 um and that’s about B it for the Redevelopment there must there’s other

Things happening obviously I’ve missed a few out cuz I kind of everywhere but for this the main city center uh that is the Revival and the Rejuvenation of Sunland uh and obviously Sunland the people are quite patriotic still here and they they’re loyal so whenever I’ve made a video

About Sunderland P felt the need to defend it as if I was calling it there’s the stadium there p felt the need to they thought I had an agenda against sundland but what it was I just I was seeing things for how they were and it

Did look really bad now now it is looking a bit better you’re sundland City Cent so this video is to show you a few things that might make the city more enjoyable to to live in to work in spend time here I’m going to end this video on the bridge not like morbidly

But and I’m not seen that many people do and their visit to Sunland on the bridge no I am joking about I know you shouldn’t joke but I suffer as well I live here and here you will see see the transportation of Sunland actually see so you’ve got What’s called the

Metro which goes from Sunland to Newcastle it’s only about 27 minutes to get there and it’s the same as a car but it’s not that cheap actually I think it’s £670 for a deer pass so you can use it everywhere or it’s like 4180 one with that’s the bridge you’d use on the

Metro and this is the mon Willam mouth Bridge of Sunland the m one and over there you can see the stadium of light part of the new foot Bridge let’s have a closer look that is our Riverside over there it’s actually really beautiful and the beach is even better got stunning beaches

Here and all in all sun is a it is a lovely place to be uh like everywhere it’s got its downsides there even look at the graffiti there can you see even that’s quite tastfully [Applause] do so yeah as you can see all the new developments both sides of the

River which is that’s not done all the time is it not many cities build on both sides it’s normally even London over there you’ve got all the ships and that’s still coming in major port uh we’re not building ships so much anymore but they’re still rolling [Applause] see if we can get a

[Applause] Metro and if you look really far in the distance that’s a relatively new bridge the Spire so these two sides of sundland are going to be really well [Applause] connected well yeah I think I’ll end it there because this side not many redevelopments still some nice areas some rough places

As well but for now that’s it that’s sundland I hope you’ve enjoyed this little tour uh tell me what you think in the comments do you think it is a new up and coming Paradise nice place to live or do you think it looks a bit run down murky

And might be a bit depressing but please do uh let me know in the comments and thank you very much for watching hope you’ve enjoyed it welcome to Sunland

    1. Awesome marra. I love Sunderland even though I've lived in Durham now for 20 year's. When i was a kid Sunderland really was rundown and depressing, the Centre that is. Been all-over the Country and Sunderland is cleaner than 90% of most Cities but the centre is boring, not going to lie. Not much to do. In Durham it's even worse. Beautiful place but it's all for the students, local people don't matter and it's even more boring than Sunderland. Nether are depressing just boring 🤣 loved the London video mate. Very eye opening. You should try Coventry marra 😂 They don't like makems so only joking. Great work marra 👌 nearly every Cities kids are turning nasty. Societies fault not the places

    2. Another great video mate. Lived in Sunderland most of my life & compared to other towns/cities in England it’s heaven. True, there’s not much to do but you are generally safe living here. Just needs a bit more ambition from the council and it could be great 👍🏻

    3. fantastic videos thank you, youre showing me parts of sunderland i havent had to time to stop and see yet. we lived in Sunderland in the late 80s in Silksworth, our mum and dad were in the pub trade. been madly in love with Northumberland for a long time, but over the past few few years been getting to know the coast at roker and seaburn and seaham and also love it there. we visited ay Christmas and couldnt believe how massive the bridges is now compared to when we lived there. we actually want to move back up there, i can see sunderland is changing and it deserves to vhange for the better.

    4. I'm from Washington. So I spend jusy as much time in Newcastle as Sunderland. Even though I'm a Sunderland supporter. I much prefer going to Newcastle, as it never really died like Sunderland did.

Good to see Sunderland getting money now though. And coming back to what it was.

    5. Great video. It will be interesting to see how everything looks in another 5 years when all this development is more or less done. The revival on the seafront at both Seaburn and Roker is incredible, you just have to look at the old photos.

There seems to be a lot of independent venues popping up, which is Great . The area around the Firestation and Empire is just also fantastic.

    6. Your video came up as a 'suggestion ' to watch. I think you need to change your name as I nearly didn't play it.

I enjoyed the video. From a southern Sunderland supporter

    7. I was born in Sunderland in 1960, my family lived in East Herrington until 1967. We moved to Hampshire and my parents used to visit relatives from time to time. I think 1977 was the last time I was there. I don't recognise a thing…

    8. I can only go by the video but i dont see many victorian buildings, look mostly post war and recently built. Take it a lot of the architecture was sadly knocked down years ago.
