Welcome to the new me with new haircut and it’s a new day and well I’ve been up and I’ve just taken up the taking out the tea piece tile spaces that I’ve been using and giving the tiles a bit of a clean and I’m pleased with how it’s looking they’re all still

On the wall where we left them yesterday more to the point right well got a lot to get on with so uh going to go and make up some adhesive and crack On W W Right I have got to the point in the day I have now run out of mix and it’s not worth making any more up um go and clean my tools as I do uh um listen look look how I’ve done all of those rows quite pleased for today’s efforts

Again lots of cutting of toes well good morning um I’ve just taken out the spacer plugs from um the bit I did yesterday um I think it’s looking all right considering and there’s a considering I want to have a quick chat to you about you might think that these are just simple

Rectangles but they’re not um firstly they’re not quite flat there’s a slight bow to them that’s all right I can get over that secondly there’s a bul you might be able to see it there turn it that way around at the end of each tile there’s a bulge now it’s only a

Millimeter actually a millimeter over the height of that tile is quite a large percentage um now it’s meant that I’ve gone for slightly larger gaps than I would have done otherwise and I’ve got to be careful where I place a spacer cuz if I space it from here it’s a different

Spacing than if it’s spaced that end it also means when I put it on the tile cutter I’m liable to be cutting at a slight angle so I have to pay particular attention to how I cut the tiles and before father-in-law says what you been doing well let me tell you in

This room there’s about 12 squ m of tiles each square meter has 44 tiles which means there’s 500 odd tiles that I’m doing in this room Each of which I not only have to where I’m cutting and there’s Cuts in the corners cuts at the ends lots of

Cutting I have to pay particular attention to how I cut it and then when I stick it on the wall I have to pay particular attention to how I’m spacing it so father-in-law it’s not just whacking them up on the wall I want this to look good and I think so far it

Is but the job is not without its complications anyway enough of a rent I don’t want to be the bad Workman blaming his tools even though I’ve got the evidence anyway I’m going to start off I think this morning I’m just going to put in a bottom row along here I’ve got a

Baton that will raise it off the floor so they’ll be the same height as those and that matches all of that um yeah I thought i’ start off over here do a bit over here I’m not quite finished over this side yet but fancy the Change Have a look at the shape of that Tile right well that is the shower cubicle area tiled so that’s done that’s done that’s done got to put another layer in along the top there and then continue continue this along the wall 5 minutes later well when you’re just going along in a straight line goes a lot

Quicker look I’ve done all the way along to there so well another day’s work really to get that finished off and I need to do the fill in bit Along by the floor but well I am quite pleased with my progress for today so yeah time to tidy Up good morning it’s about 5: to 10 in the morning um and I’m cooking chicken and you guys think has she got mad why is she cooking chicken at 500 to 10: in the morning no I haven’t gone mad we’ve had a bit of a ups and downs in

The last 24 hours uh Flora’s not been very well um Nick came into the kitchen yesterday yesterday morning to make a cup of tea and a cup of coffee uh she didn’t want to get out of bed she’d been quite ill all over the floor anyway we

Looked at her and we took her to the emergency vet or the vet with the emergency fee now I was really quite impressed with this so she’s obviously eaten something that she shouldn’t have done we think the same’s happened with Merlo but it’s not affected him as badly

And they both seem on the men this morning morning um vets bills in the UK now I used to think that they were just astronomical uh they probably still are um whenever you went to the vet you had adverts all over for pet insurance over here you don’t really see pet insurance

Adverts at all you just kind of get fairly reasonable prices now we took Flor in um the consultation with the emergency consultation that came to 50 um she had two injections one was 13 one was seven and then she ended up with some uh with some medication on top now

The whole thing came to €9 I don’t think that’s bad I think that’s actually really quite good um they saw her really quickly they were really professional yeah I’m really happy with these vets um this morning she’s bouncing all over she’s bright and happy she’s still not 100% so yesterday

And today I stayed at this side of the house I didn’t really go into the ma on Dem Matra at all um I’m back over here again today and I’m just cracking on with you know all of the little jobs that you kind of think oh get round to

Doing but by the end of the week that you don’t do um yeah so chicken is for the doggies anyway back here in the bathroom and well I think it’s looking good so what I need to do now is finish the tiling along this wall so I’ve got all

Of those ones up along the wall that you can see plus a row along the bottom there which that’s going to be a bit of a pain to get all of those cut but uh well I’m going to give it a go and see if I can get this

Tiling see if I can get it finished Today Oh Well yeah that was a little bit fiddly during the bottom row but they’re all on I think they’re looking good um can’t wait to get it all grouted now um not going to do that today probably but uh I’m going to have a little tidy up now

And yeah just admire it for a while I think just admire it Flora we’re going to nanas nanas it’s a beautiful sunny morning and we are all on our our way to ners and we’re not just going to ners just for the share hell of it we’re going in the

Van to go and get firewood aren’t we you love the van don’t You La So recently when IE and Barbara bought this plot of land it’s 100 m by 100 m plot so um that’s a hectare they fill off half of it a while ago they got a quarter remaining at the back that they want to sell off as a build they got

Planning permission for someone can build a house there but it needs an access road so today we are here here well he’s doing the work I don’t know really what what I’m doing here part from watching and recording um he needs to make a 4 M wide Access Road in that

Direction so unfortunately some of these Tre have to be failed but um they’ll become fire with for next winter anyway hope he doesn’t do any Damage don’t think any of them can get reach a house from here at Least oh we’ll have to pull it a bit then won’t we and down it came sorry couldn’t show you cuz I was busy pulling oh well and here he is the garage man good afternoon I’m invited you to see around my garage I’ve now tied it all up so Pi

That came out of a caravan got a video cassette player built in 20 years ago there’s a toy and over here we have a a log splitter I’ve tied it up all over there as you can see now yeah it was a bit rough before lovely I know the

The quad bik here actually belongs to Barbara we bought this when we had the land at the side uh and she was sick of walking up and down with the washing so by getting the quad bike she could put the washing on the quad bike and got the you bought

A quad bike to put out washing yeah and and we use that to do the washing it’s now it’s 20 years old and it’s just done 2,100 km Oh I thought that was 2,100 loads of washing it could be it could be I bought a new sh Ben lovely why haven’t I been

Shown this because I know land you’ll borrow it and it will come back in pieces what what what do you use it for to saw wood you normally use a saw bench to s yeah hello now here is a very important thing his this is his man cave this is a message to

Scotland my darling daughter-in-law in Scotland who has a beautiful BMW motorbike under there and he has been under there now one flat tire yeah it’s got flat tire eight nine years please will you come and move it please I recognize that handwriting as I say I I’ve Ted things

There you have It well on a beautiful dayl like today probably the last thing you want to be thinking about is firewood um look at me I’m in a T-shirt it’s a beautiful day but we picked up this firewood from um a sawmill um it won’t be ready for if you have any

More cold spells this winter but going to cut get it in cut it up um and it’ll be ready for next winter beautiful Oak and the one thing I can’t actually convey to you is the smell of it it smells gorgeous doesn’t it your hardwood smells lovely dear right well time to get Unloaded That pile in the corner is gradually getting bigger and the van gradually it’s going down but it’s going to be a while all right well that’s the first bundle all chopped up what a lot of wood you know I think I’m just going to unload the other lot

Not not bother chopping it up yet got plenty of time for that throughout the year a nice sunny daylight today don’t want to be chopping up Wood [Applause] right well that’s the other bundle off the van it’s all 800 kilos of wood unloaded good exercise anyway time for a little sweep up and then uh a little beverage I think it’s in order all right I’m going to uh make some of the grout up now to do the

Bathroom tiles and this is what I’m going to be using it’s an the site so it’s going to be dark and messy uh I’m not going to make up too much in one go cuz it goes off fairly quick it’s a a waterproof grout um so yeah inside the

Shower it will just all the joints between the tiles will be a a waterproof barrier um so yeah it’s another powder that gets mixed with water and then I’m going to take it upstairs and put it between the tiles so here it goes A [Applause] He well I’ve done the shower cubicle area I’ve done all of that and I’ve done behind the toilet so it’s probably about half of the room done now and i’ got all of that W to do but I have run out of the grout so that’s it for today need to

Go to a bricko uh today today I’m going to carry on putting the grout in and hopefully get that wall finished today um just got to get it done hav’t you let’s crack on as they Say [Laughter] [Laughter] Um I think it’s looking good um so as I said I can’t do these ones cuz the grout’s still wet today but in next few days I’ll I’ll get on to that but instant instantly they’re polished up don’t they look Good Hi hi and welcome to Wine of the week um pleased to report both the dogs are back to their normal mischievous selves yes no more tumy problems off you go all good and well wine of the week and it actually isn’t wine um it looks like

Wine and 99% of it is wine but because there 1% of something else they I don’t think they can call it wine and what it’s been mixed with is an infusion of [Applause] hemp so today we are drinking or tasting something called Cabos Shard which is a CBD wine

Oo and I shall read it the batim is a bold combination of wine and CBD that takes the Drinker on a unque unique sensory Journey so we’ll record this and then have a little bit of it and then maybe give you an update if we can be bothered who knows what could happen

Well it’s been a productive week mainly on Mr butcher’s part um I’ve been obviously doggy doggy caring doggy moing mopping doing a lot of mopping however all of the things I have done this week I have saved for you for next week’s episode but yeah you’ve done a lovely
