I’m about to take you into a world very few people will ever see. It’s a world where danger is around every corner. Avalanches and rock slides are possible at any moment. You need the right skills and experience to be part of the team that will spend 8 weeks clearing and repairing Norway’s most famous mountain pass road. I got to spend a day with the team to see firsthand what goes on. This is the first time this incredible story has been told to an international audience. 1. Amazing video! I visited Trollstigen this year for the first time with my family, and we were incredibly lucky that our trip wasn't planned earlier due to the road being closed. Super interesting watching this video and seeing how much work was put into getting everything back together. The road looked like it had never been harmed when we visited.
Also, the workers dialects are THICK. had a real challenge deciphering what they were saying 😂

    2. Thank you for posting this beautiful video. It brings back memories of my own trip up that amazing road. I grew up in Norway (now live in the USA) and went up Trollstigen many years ago. Great memory of a fantastic ride up that stunning road. It is truly a breathtaking ride. Again, thank you for a wonderful video.

    3. … ‘’if you look after your history and heritage the future looks after itself’’ Something British politicians and many left wing students and newcomers, ignore on a daily basis.

    4. Would you look at this. No union workers being lazy dragging ass, doing a half assed job. Look how efficient and clean everything from the people, the roads and work trucks are. Remarkable when no corruption is involved.

    5. I love Troldestigen. surely the most interesting road to drive on in Norway. however there are hundreds if not thousands more of tiny narrow roads across all the nation (Being Dane here, speaking from first hand account) It's a lovely place for sure!

    6. In August I went to the northcape on my bike. I'm so excited by the scandinavian landscapes and I'm looking for new Inspiration.

Some days ago I had a look to one of your videos. Every evening I watch another one.

This one ist very very phantastic. Thanks a lot 😊

    7. Very nice episode! I live in Sweden and drove this road by motorcycle this summer. So much nice views in Norway, try to go there every summer. Aursjøvegen is extremely nice!

    8. Stunning scenery, but please use a Norwegian composer for background music! For brutal nature like this, I recommend Edvard Grieg or Geirr Tveit. Apart from this I absolutely love your videoes! It had to take a British guy to shoot gold like this in Norway! Thank you!

    9. Amazing content! I just moved to Norway, bought a gravel bike and I was wondering if you could recommend a shop where to buy proper winter riding shoes and gear. Started getting cold and I find the cover shoes insufficient

    10. Norwegians are just like Norwegian nature, in one word simply spectacular! But it must be said that, unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer, since more and more Norwegians are growing up in cities and these rural places are dying out, there are fewer and fewer of those old Norwegians!

    11. hi mathew….can you direct me to a support group please as,im planning a bike ride from trondhein to oslo next january,,,,the reason is to get a good view of the northern lights …thanks sam xx

    12. GREAT Video Matthew, many thanks for that hommage to the people who built and maintain that extraordinary street. We used it in August 2022. JUST GREAT!!!

    13. The men who maintain this road and other roads I’m sure, are very brave. I hope they get paid a lot of money! They are amazing and their snow removing machines, very cool. And the people who cleared it by hand before they had machines, amazing! Thanks for this video!

    14. Amazing video. Beautiful scenery. Driving on that road on a summer’s day would give my anxiety from all those edges, but clearing it of all that snow without proper visuals is just unbelievable. From Canada, hats off to everyone who built that road and to those who now maintain it.

    15. Well, what can I say….we're a rugged people up here in north Scandinavia!! 😀 Where I live, inland East-Norway we only have agout 4-5 feet of snow rigth now, and about -7 degrees F. The biggest problem (I live in the MIDDLE of the forest, at the end of a dirt road about 5 km from paved road) is that trees are falling over the road from the snow. I always have at least two chainsaws and an axe in my car.

    16. And THIS is why we do not need elecric cars in Norway…outside the urban areas. It.s the cold that drain the batteries, the distances, the column driving over the mouintain passes.

    17. What a cool video, but when cycling on the road with the snow walls, aren't you mostly looking at the walls? Thank you for making this video, it is so beautiful, and amazing the work people do and have done!
