Mike Graham tears his way through the morning newspapers and brings a much-needed dose of common sense to the day’s big stories.

Good morning you’re watching the independent Republican Mike grahe on talk we’re on TV we’re on radio we’re online and on your smart speaker coming up the tube driver who chanted free Palestine on London Underground train has been suspended they found him plus no more migrant hotels today the government will unveil plans to

Terminate contracts saving the taxpayer they say £8 million a day and his major change finally on the way as police have given new tactics to tackle shoplifting with yobs identified through face ID Technology welcome to the independent Republican Mike grahe right here on talk TV don’t forget you can get in touch with the show on all of the socials at talk TV and on the phones 0344 499 1000 we’ got Lo coming up on the show today

We want to hear from all of you of course as well so make sure you put your call in and we’ll talk to you later on first of all though Kevin O Sullivan is Here very good morning to you Kevin morning mate welcome to uh the second day in a row that I’ve managed to turn up for work so can’t be bad can it you know I like I liked it so much yesterday I thought might come back new policy

You’re going to host your own show I like it I thought I should catch on anyway I hope you enjoyed going back to your normal scenario yesterday I did um we got load to talk about this morning yesterday you told us the story of how

It was a friend of yours and mine who ended up outing the the tube driver who chanted free Palestine on the central lines of Marble Arch you said we can help you find him if you can’t well guess what they found him yeah so well

Done you tfl saying we we don’t know who it was we can’t find them as I say my friend don’t mind naming them Wendy Henry former editor of the news of world miles former news editor of the Daily Mail were making their way into Central

London uh to uh have a look at what was going on with all the demos and everything and uh this happened they heard this announcement so Tim being the old hack that he is got off the tube and filed it to the papers it make big shows

And front page of the sun yesterday as well yes indeed all over the Sunday papers as well and when tfl said oh uh we don’t know who it is we uh can’t find him as I said yesterday well my friends can tell you exactly when they made the

Announcement and exactly where they were so tfl kind of climbed down and said oh we have found him you know what I think happened I think somebody had a quiet word in Shell like ear and went you better find this guy because if you don’t this is not going to stop massive

Backlash not a sustainable position we can’t find this driver so he’s being suspended uh who knows what we’ll happen to him next I don’t like to call for people to be sacked but maybe he should be sacked well maybe he should be given in no uncertain terms an opportunity not

To ever do this again let’s have a look at it just one more time hope you have a blessed day today look after yourselves and a to everybody and keep all those people in your prayers have a good day yes I mean I don’t suppose there’s precedent for anything like this

Because I mean I’ve occasionally like I said yesterday heard these guys going off on a sort of a bit of a verbal diarrhea trip where they decide that they’re sort of you know orators entertain you while you’re traveling through the London Underground which is sort of all right okay it’s a

Bit annoying um but I’ve never even I mean they probably wouldn’t even be allowed to use football chants in case they you know wind up the wrong side you know so the idea that he could get away with doing this is mad yeah and uh there’s never any happy medium is there

You either get one of those ones who want to commentate the entire Journey just coming into Marble Arch here of course if you go upstairs you can see the beginning of O oxf all that or or you get those ones where the train sort

Of lurches to a halt in the middle of a tunnel for 10 minutes they don’t say anything no no well they can’t give you any information absolutely not meanwhile on the front of the the hate crimes I mean we’ve got the Home Secretary saying that the Metropolitan Police uh calling

For new police Powers is kind of ridiculous because it kind of is ridiculous the police have got the powers they need they’ve always had the powers they need they just don’t seem to want to use them is anybody going to come right out and say this guy Sark

Rowley an old police veteran who’s now being given the job of cleaning up the Met yeah is not doing a very good job of cleaning up the very well said what he said yesterday was a disgrace it’s against the law to call for holy war in the middle of a demonstration against

Israel of course that is a call to Jihad uh and the police decided Well there are several meanings of the word Jihad so we didn’t quite know what to do so we didn’t arrest anyone well they should have arrested people uh he doesn’t need new powers uh to arrest people who call

For a war in the middle of a demonstration against Israel that’s against the law which way he says that things can be interpreted it looks very much like on the face of it the Metropol police trying to find an excuse not to arrest people who were shouting Jad

That’s what it looks like but let’s have a look at Sir Mark yesterday trying to defend himself he we are absolutely ruthless in tackling anybody who P their fo over the legal line we cancel the law we can’t enforce taste or decency but we can enforce the

Law look it’s it he said we’re absolutely ruthless about Anyone who puts their foot under the line tell that to shoplifters tell that to people who Nick bicycles tell that to car thieves tell tell that to burglar you’re not absolutely ruthless you never Nick anyone what’s the matter with you do

Your job yeah I think the only thing they’re absolutely ruthless at is making sure that they don’t arrest anyone particularly particularly when there’s a march on because they’ve now seem to have adopted this kind of view and you can kind of understand it in a way well

We don’t want to cause any trouble at the March so we don’t want to anybody at the March well I think they should actually take a different view because I think if they did start arresting people at the March there’s a pretty good chance that maybe the marches wouldn’t

Be so full of people willing to break the law because they think they can get away with it yeah uh and the other meaning of jihad is a kind of inner spiritual conf yeah that’s the one I like in in order to become a better I’m conducting my own Jihad every single day

I get home and I try and make myself a better person become a better musl I call it a Jihad but it’s like Richard Little John said in the mail he said so what was the chant then yeah what do we want we want an inner spiritual conflict

To become a better Muslim when do we want it now you know it’s just the rubbish those people were breaking the law Rowley now next time arrest them and could you please explain while you’re at it why the police support Palestine and are against Israel that is a disgrace

Also why is he uh appearing to appear want to want to be a kind of community leader rather than the head of Metropolitan Police I mean if he wants to be a a community leader if he wants to go and you know pour soothing Bal over the communities of this country

Which become angry with one another we can go and do that but he’s actually in charge of the biggest police force in the country he’s supposed to share by example lead by example he’s supposed to make arrests of people who are making life unpleasant for other people by

Breaking the law yeah a call a call to Jihad holy war uh in a demonstration against Israel uh is a anti-semitic and B extremely disconcerting and worrying for the British Jewish Community incred inflamat Police are supposed to protect the Jewish Community as as well as everyone else so why don’t you go ahead

And do it they’ve taken this view right that as long as it’s not being done in front of a synagogue it’s fine well it’s not fine I’m afraid um and judging by uh what is not fine you can see what’s going on in this country um front P of

The sun this morning IV offering security uh to Dame Morin Litman after a surge in anti-semitic hate we did a story yesterday with Laura dunsworth where uh the October convention has now been signed and Morin Litman is one of the people that signed it as a result of

That uh which is in support of Israel in support of democracy um she has been targeted by um people who think that she should be have all sorts of terrible things done to her because she’s Jewish yeah she’s Jewish and she called all those lovies who signed that

Ridiculous kougan Tilda Swinton and all that lot The Usual Suspects she called them uh bleeding heartless liberals who refus to acknowledge that the Israeli community that 1,400 Israelis were were killed and butchered in the most appalling way and yet that does not get mentioned in their ridiculous letter

They basically say that the government is standing by while Israel commits war crimes here’s a fact you lovees you idiots you song and dance people uh Israel so far has not committed any war crimes Hamas in stark contrast has committed a hell of a lot of grotesque

War CL so get it right also we should point out that yesterday Richi sunak got up in the House of Commons all credit to to say that Britain had now looked into the intelligence and looked into the evidence and all of the evidence points to the fact that that hospital that was

Bombed was not hit by an Israeli airst strike and more than likely and in fact almost certainly it was a missile that came from within inside of Gaza from this L what are they called the Jihadi uh Jihadi Islamic Jihad Islamic Jihad but it also rich suak in the Commons

Very pointed he said the misreporting of this incident has called Untold canellation BS with the lead Jord other Arab leaders and who misreported it the BBC who have now apologized by the way for for reporting it wrongly and admitting that their reporter should never have said straight after the event

When nobody knew what had happened it can’t be anything other than an Israeli airst strike there must be 500 people dead because herass told us the reporter’s name was John donison and uh he won’t be sacked he’ll be back on the screens very soon because it’s fine to

Get stories wrong at the They Don’t Really Care yes as long as you get them wrong in the right way obviously the exactly as long as you get them wrong in support of Palestine against the BBC’s hated Israel exactly right now meanwhile um Benjamin netanyahu’s got a son um a

Extraordinary story he lives apparently in Miami his name his eldest son his name is y he’s 32 years of age moved to Florida earlier this year um the background to this story is that an awful lot of people including by the way Taylor Swift’s bodyguard um went back to

Fight for 300,000 reserv they went back but they’ve gone they’ve left their jobs in in different countries around the world they’ve gone back to Israel to defend what they call their country um and unfortunately for for this guy Yaya Netanyahu at the age of 32 he is

Eligible to do so but so far he hasn’t gone back apparently his job uh over there in Florida is to raise awareness for various Charities oh doesn’t sound like much of a job to me right uh last week uh doing your show I interviewed a very brave young woman who was among

Those poor people at that popc had to run for it and uh so she literally had to dive to the ground and she saw her friends killed as soon that was incredibly moving I was listening to that because you know sometimes when you’re doing these shows you don’t feel

It as much as when you’re listening to them and I listened to that interview I was absolutely shocked what did she say when she was talking about how she was running away and she couldn’t really look around but she noticed that some of her friends who were running were

Literally falling down dead because they were shot and what did what what did she do as soon as she got home packed bag and went to the front line as a reservist so y should have a look at that interview and maybe a look into his

Soul see want to go questions are being asked I mean you can’t really question Benjamin Benjamin because he has served time in the military um and in fact he was up at the front line with uh in North of Israel up against Hezbollah the other day um but yeah it’s one of those

Things it’s not a great look is it no it’s not it’s not as I say Israelis from all over the world they don’t waste a second they hop on a plane straight away and they go to defend their country y not so much by the by the way his dad is

In big political trouble the Israelis are furious with for this security laps why didn’t we know right well you hear a lot of people now saying that then inevitably he will have to resign but now just isn’t really you can kind of see they think they think everyone

Around him I mean the various military leaders that I think it’s the defense minister has already indicated that he made a grave mistake and when this Saga is over he will resign but Netanyahu no such pledge uh you know what he’s like he’ll stick around if he can well I mean

He’s come back literally from the dead politically many times I mean he’s been written off many times as well so I would write him off yet absolutely absolutely now let’s move on to the migrants who we haven’t spoken about that much l minut yeah but yesterday

There was a hint wasn’t there in the times that there was going to be an announcement and it is going to come today for Robert jri um he’s going to say we’re no longer going to put migrants up in luxury hotels well thank goodness for that I didn’t think they

Were being put up in in luxury hotels but it turns out that some of these hotels which are in the papers today incredible like huge stately maning pools with spares golf courses and what we know of course is that we’ve because we’ve been taking calls on this for for

Months and months and months um and people but yeah people basically saying look I had my birthday party booked my 65th birthday party my retirement party my wedding was booked you know we had some hoteliers saying I’m not going to cancel all the weddings that been booked

Because we’re just looking at one of these hotels now I mean these things you know not a bad place to get bed when in the country you can come out and wander about they the other thing they’re saying is all we’re going to make them share rooms as well well really well For

Heaven’s Sake you know why why have they allowed these people to come here and have a room to themselves in a luxury 400 pound a night Hotel it’s absolutely scandalous it really is um but the other thing about this of course I mean I applaud uh the idea it’s ridiculous that

We’re putting uh migrants up in £300 a night luxury Four Star Spa hotels I applaud the idea but this is like the Tories saying oh look we’re moving out luxury hotels will you vote for us now hardly not really a it’s a good idea but it’s not a game changer so now what

They’re going to do they’re going to put them into cheaper hotels basically affecting people who need to stay in those hotels who can’t afford the luxury hotels so actually affecting even more ordinary workingclass people in this country who are trying to either have a little holiday somewhere or maybe trying

To just you know do a bit of work somewhere where they have to stay over night in a hotel they can’t to pay more than 50 Quid for it and also they’re not going to save 8 million quid a day are they no they’re not and uh basically uh

They say they’re going to move them into Motel style Hotel so I think it’s like we could have a new soap op for migrant Crossroads you know where all the migrants take part in a daily soap op and we watch it on the T Crossroads Motel

I that was a great show I have to say I mean for those of you who are not old enough to remember I’m sorry but they did revamp it I think didn’t yeah came back came back for a little while yeah but I mean we’ve seen so many stories of

So many different parts of Britain different towns in the north of England in the southwest of England in the east in the Southeast down in Kent everywhere where communities have been completely ruined and they’ve complained about it and they’ve been given no kind of uh indication of why it’s happened when

It’s going to stop anything like I mean actually under under uh British law uh communities have to be consulted about this sort of thing right but the reason that none of these communities have been consulted they wake up and suddenly their Prestige Hotel in the middle of

Their town or Village uh is a migrant hotel and the reason they’re not consulted is because of emergency Powers the government gave itself during the co crisis to overrule local objections so they’ve held on to those powers and they are not telling any communities before they impos

Mig yeah and we’ve also seen what’s happened in places like Swansea um where the the people have just stood up and said no we’re not having this it looks as though they might have won that we’ve got the same situation going on in Beck Hill at the moment with no to North in

The campaign they’re doing and they’re doing very well by talking to local councils and local yeah you North is near you live that’s a prison isn’t it yeah well it’s a former sort of military prison I know um but it’s right at the end of of a cesac full of houses yes

Well it’s it’s next to a village of about 400 people lives will be ruined and people and people are just saying no we’re not we’re not having it no thank you not right uh uh should we uh talk about uh people on benefit why not there’s a lot of them there C apparently

Are uh yeah uh basically there’s been a surge in the number of benefit claimants who do not have to look for a job so basically the numbers are here are extraordinary all the people on uh benefits there’s 2.2 million people who uh get benefits uh because they’ve

Either got uh they’ve got mental health issues they got a bad back they’re ill so they keep getting they don’t have to look they don’t have to look for a job at all uh there are two add to that 2.3 million who claim benefits while they’re

At work and then there are 2 million more who are on benefits as well who are looking for work so that’s they’re getting on for 7 million people on welfare and whenever we talk about this right people always complain oh you’re always picking on the lowest of of of

The society well not really because the people who do need benefits of course should get them but the problem is is there’s an awful lot of people who have made a living out of getting benefits and they’ve got no incentive to go back to work because many of them get so much

In benefits that it’s not worth their while going back to work it’s it’s another uh sin for which this government should be punished uh they totally Mish handled the coid crisis putting everyone on Furlow for two years seems to have rewired the national psyche we’ve become

A a nation of shers well this is people don’t want to go to work anymore if you didn’t go to work shall we say for something like your best part of a year you know by the and the rest by the time that year is over you’re going to go

Well do you know what actually I quite like being at and Richie T who by the way who kept kept extending Furlow because it was good for votes uh disastrously he said about this new revelation that there are 2.2 million people who just get paid by the state

With no requirement to look for a job he said this is a scandal well it’s all part of the Universal Credit system uh who’s responsible for that oh I know the Tory government I mean because they had to clean up the system and they’ve actually made it worse but they’ve been

In power so long so long 13 years they can’t remember of their uh policies so this is their policy I know well this is the problem you know for years and years and years they blamed labor didn’t they and said well we’ve had to undo all of

That they can’t do that anymore um and they can’t blame each other they can’t blame each other let’s talk about what’s going on there out there in the big wide world big corporations because if you thought the Nigel farage NatWest Coots Bank Scandal had gone away it’s just

Come back because he’s discovered um that Nat West Staff actually gloated that they driven Nigel farage out of the country yeah when they decided to yeah said uh they boasted that they hoped they’d driven Nigel farage out of the country by closing down his bank accounts at Coots uh uh and another said

That knocked him down a peg or two another one wrote dodgy Russian connections another described him as sketchy another this is all in um crackpot this is all in crackpot an awful human being the money I’d have paid to have been uh the agent ringing him to tell him that he had been

Debanked well uh guess what all you people who wrote that those messages farage will find you and you will be fired yeah be careful it’s interesting isn’t it take Nigel verage because I think people have a general kind of misunderstanding of work related messages and emails and that kind of

Thing because while you might expect say for example your phone messages between you and whoever it is you’re talking to to be encrypted and or private if you’re doing something on a network inside of NatWest or indeed inside of this company or you know if you’re officially on a a

Work email sending messages or a work system sending messages that all of that is discoverable by anyone who happens to be affected by it well this is because he discovered when they closed down his cots accounts he discovered that you have the right you the public have a

Right to demand uh the reason and all the documents surrounding it so he put in this request Coots to their horror realized they had to comply and in uh the documents that he received were all these messages that the staff was sending about about him now he’s already

Taken down the chief executive Allison gray if you remember yes uh he has exacted from CS and that West the groeling apology he beat that bank hands down he’s now talking about these people who sent these messages uh they will be found they will be found and they will

Be fired there’s no doubt about it put you in your sights you idiots I know but doesn’t it also give you a very interesting indication into the world of wokery in which we now live where people who work for a bank are now considering themselves to be more leftwing than

Politicians you know can you imagine 20 years ago that being the case I can’t yeah and also CS that Alison gr D Alison gr course uh going oh you know we she’s gone yet by the way oh yeah she’s gone uh got about four million quid payoff of

Course but um uh so oh we want to B this Coots we’ve got to be inclusive Coots yeah it’s the most exclusive Bank in the world it is not an inclusive bank so these people acting like they’re sort of Carl marks I mean you’re in the the

Wrong place folks and you won’t be there long cuz farage will get you fired but this is the problem isn’t it that as I say we’ve discovered through this whole process that we’ve got this kind of you know this Stonewall inspired you know um uh what is it gender um neutral

Ridiculousness going through every single big Corporation and in fact some of them are worse than most political parties yeah I never understood that also Dame Allison gray sort of saying it’s very important that people know our values oh yeah and know that we’re you know we’re tolerant and all this sort of

Stuff I don’t give a damn about your values what your political beliefs are you got my money look after it do your job bank bank my money look after my money and you can take your values and stick them where the sun doesn’t child I don’t care right any chance of a c’s

Bank account no thank you very much indeed I don’t want one um but you know it is absolutely amazing one big surprising story that we’ve got this morning broke late yesterday uh former Scottish first Minister Nicholas sturgeon has finally passed a driving test at the age of uh 53 well done

Nicola 53 well done she’s a woman of great achievement now there she is sitting in a car I was expecting to see her sit in a motor home to be honest you that’s that’s her instructor is it I presume that’s her instructor yeah that’s Andy McFarland well done Andy did

You missed the little joke I made about motor home you did didn’t you I said I expected to home well she can’t believe it I was it was such a good joke I was holding it so long and then you missed it okay um everyone else was laughing

She could be a getaway driver yeah I I mean uh we we still don’t know what’s going on with the investigation that Scottish who are almost as slow as Metropolitan Police how big is that motor home is you need a special license to drive you don’t it’s a bit like a

Winnter B I had one once I was I was given one years and years ago and I took my kids on holiday in it and it was great but it was one of these things it was a it was a fear actually had tiny tiny wheels and I nearly turned it over

Once coming off a motorave because I could feel it going like this but the funniest thing was going was like that’s before I picked them up like on yeah yeah but they loved it because it was like every time they were hungry I said well don’t worry there’s L stuff in the

Cupb just go to eat it but the funniest thing was going in because it was donated for this freebie this holiday I took or in the days when you could the caravan and camping club or whatever it’s called and every time I took it in anywhere because it was brand new all

These people who were there would come around and go oh is that the new Fe at 5 can we come can we come in and have a look and I was like yeah if you like yeah you know and it meant nothing to me but apparently this was like top of the

Range very long and huge but I I just had very flat steering wheel but you didn’t have like that well I’m obsessed with going on a motor home holiday but my wife says Henrietta says if we do do that she’ll divorce me well there’s an in I say promise excellent yeah I mean

You have got to be sort of of a certain type of of person I like the idea it’s quite good fun but the thing is most people again this is where I got it wrong most people will tow behind the car behind the motor home you tow the

Car behind so you don’t have to take it but I didn’t have the car to tow behind so every time I went anywhere I had to take the motor home we go to tesos have to take it with you and I’m going I’m never going to get you know you have to

Park about 10 miles away to walk you know it’s just ridiculous well you’re talking me out of it anyway right real quick what about the the uh the tax the tank that was driven I love this uh you so the certain vehicles are are exempt from ules and in fact exempt from a

Whole lot of traffic laws like speeding and one of those Vehicles is a tank right so someone took a tank through Central London let’s have a look at a test I think we’ve got a clip can we see I mean you might be worried that’s region Street isn’t it it’s going up to

Reg in this day and age you might be worried when you see a tank coming down the street like we’ve been invaded who’s coming into London so uh yeah it’s completely legal uh a group of activists decided to take a stand uh and uh drove that it’s it’s fully taxed and insured

And the gun has been deactivated so it’s completely road legal uh and uh the group decided to demonstrate the oburity square look there yeah yeah yeah look I mean I I’m surprised that somebody didn’t get very worked up and start calling the police again and somebody’s

Just stopped a tankage but it turns out it’s totally legal isn’t that mad yeah well I saw somebody complaining the other day that a sort brand new Lamborghini um which has got some ludicrous amount of um money to buy it’s like 300,000 quid or something is a u

Compliant despite the fact that it’s got you know ludicrous amount of exhaust pipes all the rest of it and some PA who’s got a sort of four-year-old diesel is having to pay you know 27 quid every time he’s into it I just thinking by the

Way my wife won’t go on a holiday with me in a motor home maybe I could persuade her to go on a holiday with me in a tank yeah in a tank and then we could just break all the ules law go on a ules law bre you would have to worry

About going on the roads are they just go across country great that’s great idea you could sell that idea go and break it’s very hot inside a tank break traffic laws in our tank it’s a great idea well except you wouldn’t be doing it anyway listen um Kevin will still be

Through this afternoon nothing too heavy but Falling on already saturated ground will exacerbate any flooding issues by the end of the day there will be rain spreading to the southwest of England and Wales as well elsewhere mostly dry and bright but there will be some showers around especially across the

Eastern part of Scotland going into tonight that rain across the east of England will move up towards parts of the northeast of England and the east of uh Scotland as well meanwhile there will be rain across the Southwest spreading across many Central and Southern areas with very heavy downpours particularly

Bad for Southern and Southeastern parts of England by the early hours of the morning there could be some issues on the roads for the morning Rush Hour elsewhere will be mostly dry and clear with some areas of mist and fog and Apache Frost across parts of Scotland then through tomorrow eventually that

Rain eases and clears away from the southeast uh across eastn Scotland will continue with spars of rain there most of it light elsewhere will be mainly dry and bright before further rain from the southwest later in the Day times radio sponsors talk TV Weather yeah welcome back to the independent Republican Mike gra right here on S be with you all the way through until 1:00 Kevin Sullivan is still with me we’ve got loads going on Kevin loads of stories to talk about including new tactics to tackle shoplifting a bit of Britney Spears a

Bit of Keith Richard but also some breaking news a British cargo ship has reportedly sunk off the coast of Germany following a collision several people are missing two vessels crashed into each other in the North Sea according to German authorities uh the two ships are called Verity and poy they collided in

The early morning about 14 miles Southwest of the island of helgoland um and according to the German Central Command for maritime emergencies the British flag Varity ship apparently sank my God so it’s a dreadful story uh one person was rescued from the water and was being given medical treatment but

Rescuers are searching for several more people who are unaccounted for um apparently it was the ship was headed from Breman to the English Port of immingham so we’ll keep you updated on that we’ll see it’s a big looking ship so obviously cargo ship is sunk it would

Appear um off the coast of Germany in the North Sea so uh more on that uh when we get it um let’s talk a bit about shoplifting because police apparently have said they’re going to use new tactics to tackle shoplifters what they’re going to arrest them well

Apparently first of all brand new policy first of all they have to catch them it seems like they want to use facial ID recognition well what happens if you’re wearing a mask or a BAL clava yeah I mean I’m pretty sure that if you’re wearing a BAL clava the facial

Recognition doesn’t recognize you yeah don’t announce this the day after you said well we can’t arrest all shoplifts we just can’t do it haven’t got resources so either you’re going to tackle shoplifting or you’re not so saying oh look we got facial recognition technology doesn’t mean to say you’re

Going to arrest anyone does it no this shoplifting you could do it with impunity now please don’t get involed do you not feel though Kevin that we now live in this kind of era where things are announced and they get the headlines and then nothing happens I know so they

Go we’re going to arrest every shoplifter right and then a week later have you arrested any shoplifters uh no we haven’t exactly right exactly right you know we’re going to make sure that all my are out of these big luxury hotels oh really when are you going to

Start shutting them down or in January so can you imagine in January if we go back to them and say have you shut down all these migrants in all these hotels of course they won’t have done how many times you heard suel bra the Home Secretary and all various police Chiefs

Say right from now on Zero Tolerance on uh house burglary on car thefts on bicycle theft Zero Tolerance yeah nothing happens at all yeah uh and the crooks carry on benefiting from the fact that the police do not in investigate crime anymore why don’t you investigate

Crime it’s the only point of they’re too busy talking to Islamic scholars about the mean of the word Jihad what does it mean what exactly does Jihad mean well Mr pla iag maybe they give us a dictionary like here’s a definition of infidel what do you got for that guys

You know um anyway listen here’s a big story and this is right up my street electric cars this is a story in the Daily Telegraph risk becoming effectively uninsurable because apparently analysts are struggling to put a price on battery repairs because is all very well having a new electric

Car runs very nicely you can charge it if you’re lucky go a couple hundred miles but apparently if you have an accident in one um which can damage the electrics in the car or the battery it’s impossible for them to work out how badly damaged the batter has become so

Do you know what now you might say to me oh this is just more propaganda for the petrol heads but actually John Lewis Financial Services last month stopped providing car insurance for electric cars for new and existing customers that’s a big deal interesting isn’t that interesting because basically average

Electric car insurance costs have been rising in the year to September they went up 72% because there’s a growing kind of unease about what happens to electric cars when the battery either depletes and runs out of what do you do with the battery what do you do with the

Battery you can’t do you can’t recycle it and new batteries cost thousands and thousands of pounds so if you buy a secondhand electric car and you worry about how long the battery is going to last you don’t know and now the insurance companies are saying we might

Not be able to insure your car some customers have been quoted £1 pound a wheat to ensure the vehicle I can’t help feeling the the electric car dream uh is set to become a nightmare and is not the answer to all our ecological dreams it just it really isn’t all our green

Dreams won’t because all of the things that they thought were going to be good have not turned out to be good if I buy a Tesla I’ll save the world no you won’t and you see more and more people have fallen and we won’t ensure you and they

Bought and they bought these cars on the basis that oh well I won have to pay any road tax yeah but when all the cars are electric then you’ll have to pay Road tax cu they’ll need the money so it’s an incredible situation absolutely incredible um should we talk about

Britney Spears of course she’s got her new book out I feel like I’ve read it already yes so many Revelations the main one of course being Justin Tim Timberlake got her pregnant when they were teenagers and he didn’t want to have the kids she did she had an

Abortion she was only 19 regrets it to this day but uh the new revelation that’s come out today which is interesting she came over here to do an appearance on the Jonathan Moss Chat Show TV Chat Show and she says that they silenced her about her conservatorship

This was where you know cord company dad kept all her finances she wanted to talk about it and she says Jonathan Ross wouldn’t let her I suspect what happened is they would like to have talked about it but it was a matter for the lawyers and the TV lawyers said no thank you

Yeah well exactly right because I’m sure the father’s lawyers would have probably been on to say if you let her talk about things which I can’t have the right reply for exactly then you will be in big trouble way it goes in TV folks yeah she’s also said about Justin timlake

That he dumped her by text in a two-word message I mean second word off I mean that’s pretty cruel that I mean we may have all got stories of a similar nature I hope it was that’s a brilliant way to dump it could have been

Get lost well you you got a less dirty mind than me well not really I think you’re probably right I think you’re probably right um and she also admits to cheating on him with choreographer Wayde Robson yeah I mean she’s a complicated character on Britney Spears whether you

Love her or hate her or whether you don’t even care I think she’s quite an interesting individual fascinating character and I and I I fear for her now did you see that video the other KN dancing with the knives and then when everyone else said look out you know

You’re going to kill yourself I’ll get a life she said to everyone it’s only concern for you Britney she does have this tendency to behave in a rather bizarre fashion yeah she does but I mean you know she’s still going uh she’s also saying that she gave up her freedom so

That she could see her sons during the conservative ship so and she says it made her feel like a child robots while she was having to do all the things that that that that they made that conservative ship it seemed very unclear even when uh in her own home she wanted

To redecorate the kitchen uh they told her that she couldn’t uh so it literally controlled every aspect of her life she was not allowed to get a hands on any of that money and this all arose from that weird phase she had I think it was in the naughties remember when she sh

Long yeah so she it was decided she was mentally fragile and therefore someone else had to look after her Affairs her financial affairs and that became a kind of economic straight jacket for her and we’ve got I think the knives dancing clip here so you can say and I know some

People have said look the fact that she’s doing something like that would suggest maybe she is a little bit vulnerable maybe she is a little bit it is strange you know and she does a lot of these kind of solo dancers in front of a TV screen um and then post them and

You’re kind of thinking if you were one of her kids you’d be going mom you know you mind not actually doing that you know we got to go to school and everything it just isn’t very maternal no it’s really not um the other thing she said uh was that she was having she

Was having a go Christina Aguilera who did a Rolling Stone magazine cover apparently in 2003 with Justin Timberlake suggesting that that may have been a bad idea sort of Battle of the pop baby exactly right yeah that of the pop bab speaking of which talking about old pop babes Keith Richard you know

Rolling Stones have got a new album is he a babe no well I well I mean no but he’s referring I know yeah no he’s he’s talking about people he’s talking about modern I mean I wouldn’t call Britney Spears modern at this point or other but

I think it falls into the C but their album is surprisingly good I think you know I’m not a massive Rolling Stones fan I don’t like everything they do but actually it’s not bad considering how ancient they I thought it was I didn’t I thought it was a little uh uninspiring

But I mean the great thing about this kind of music to me and people will say what are you talking about music for you silly old Duffer but you know when you can hear somebody playing a guitar and you know who it is when Keith Richard plays guitar you know it’s him yeah

Right it’s like the edge in you two when he plays you know it’s a you two song but basically he’s saying uh new electronic music is cheap and rubbish he says I like to hear music by people playing instruments he says the only way

To put put a band together is to put the boys in a room and play and look in each other’s eyeballs yeah and he said that new music is going down what did he say digital recording is a one-way toilet a oneway toilet I don’t know what two-way

To I mean the the trouble you know what depresses me about this is he makes this statement and I go yeah exactly right so you realize you’re not perhaps in the youngest of generations but I mean the fact remains as people say um when the

World ends uh when the you know the Eco zealots are correct and the world finally burns out you know Keith Richard will still be alive be the only one who’s like a sort of C him and my mother people say it’ll survive it’ll survive the next he will he’s given up almost

Everything now apart from drinking beer apparently he’s given up the Jack Daniels he’s given up the cocaine he’s given up the the cigarettes he’s giving up marijuana used to he used to have a vodka and orange and a joint for breakfast every day breakfast of champions but apparently he’s given up

That that now but I wonder if he has I sort of hope he hasn’t well my old mate Pete Myers he used to run Myers of KZ a shop down in the southern part of Manhattan and used to service all the sort British ex Pats he used to make his

Own sausages and all that and he used to deliver on a regular basis to Keith Richard’s house uh in the in Gren Village and he said he was so pleased when he went to see him one day and he was literally lying on a sort of Shay

Longe with a cigarette in one hand a bottle of Jack Daniels in the other and he said I was hoping that’s what you would look like because if he didn’t I’d have been really disappointed yeah you know the thing about Keith Richards is every time you think I’ve got to clean

Up my life I’ve got to drink less I must stop smoking you I must stop going I’ve always say yeah every single time you think that you think yeah but then there’s Keith Richards I mean he never did it why should I he never did now we

Got a great cycling story but it’s so good I’m going to save it for tomorrow because we’re out of time Kevin thank you very much indeed as over we’ll see you at 3 o’ this afternoon back at 3 Kevin O Sullivan on talk TV between then

Uh and now we’ve got another three hours on this show uh juli Harley Bru coming after that loads to do we want to hear from you of course as well 0344 499 1000 coming up next though there’s no ending sight is there for the war between

Israel and Hamas and so we’re going to learn what lessons we can pick up from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine we’ll speak to an expert coming Up [Applause] E Welcome back to the independent Republican Mike Graham right here on talk TV we’ve got an awful lot to be getting along with and we course need to talk to you uh so we need to hear your voices so that we can amplify them and

Pass them on uh to to the powers that be 0344 499 1,000 uh is the number to call us on and we will get your voices heard because that’s what’s important to us right here at talk TV now there’s an awful lot of stories of course uh

Bringing us up to date with what went on uh last night in the Middle East uh the Red Cross confirmed overnight that two more hostages held in Gaza have been released by the terrorist group Hamas two women 85-year-old yohed lifshitz and 80-year-old nurit Cooper were freed and

Taken to the Egyptian side of of the Rafa border Egyptian TV showed the women being loaded onto ambulances Hamas still holds over 200 hostages after it attacked Israeli Villages killing over 1,400 Israelis on October the 7th um we’ve got an awful lot of stories in the papers including the front page of the

Daily Telegraph which says an EU Clash uh is coming with the UK and the us because they’ve called for a ceasefire along with France and the Daily Mail have got videos that prove the depravity of Hamas terrorists Kevin o solivan is here here with me Kevin thanks very much

Indeed for joining us once again um two additional hostages released um Hamas will claim no doubt that that is a proof positive that they are willing to cooperate but I mean it’s four people have’ released out of a possible 200 plus so you know let’s not give them you

Know too much Credence also the videos that the Israelis are saying prove how ghastly the atrocities were um you know I haven’t looked at them I haven’t seen them I’ve seen some still images I’m not sure I want to see them but basically they’re too graphic to be published but

The Israeli government showed them to journalists in Tel Aviv yesterday several viewers were brought to Tears by the content uh and you can see there’s a picture on the front of the telegraph here showing a gunman approaching a car I mean it really is quite chilling coward chilling when you think of what

Went on um the captain appears to tell they they basically captured a member of Hamas and they’re interviewing him on this camera and he’s basically talking about how Hamas Chief said that young militants were sent on basically suicide missions instructing them to behead and stomp on the heads of women children and

The elderly and not only to kill them but to desecrate their bodies afterwards yeah and they did behead people and this debate about oh well did they behead the babies or did they not behead babies isn’t it what we do know they did whether or not they beheaded was they

Machine gunned them to death in their cots yeah so whether or not they were decapitated seems to be a a slightly sort of spurious debate but it does look as if people were in indiscriminately decapitated by these people there are stories that they were given very powerful drugs to enable them to commit

These atrocities and one of the stories that came forward from these horrific videos is we’ve heard about women being raped uh indiscriminately while children were as well and they were raped so violently that their bones were broken this is what these this is what these people did uh and when people say oh

Come on Israel let’s have a ceasefire come on don’t commit atrocities I mean for God’s sake what kind of a Sovereign Nation is going to put up with that being done to its citizens uh Israel has to avenge what happened it’s as simple as that well I think even if it’s not

About revenge and avenging what happened I think Israel is perfectly within its rights to say which it has said we can’t allow this to happen again we absolutely cannot see a Way Forward where Hamas can hide in Gaza and literally wander across the border whenever they want so what

They’ve said at the very least is that if they do um sort of allow the Gaza to become U an independent territory they will still need some kind of massive military buffer zone and this is what they’ve always argued they can’t they can’t be living cheap by jail next to

People who want to kill that won’t be an independent territory I’ll tell you that it’ll probably be a car park by the time the Israelis yeah but there’s more and more people in in in in The Wider world who say that’s exactly Israel Israel in the

End will stick up for itself America of course is a restraining influence all the International Community Community is saying you know be careful here Israel don’t go go crazy uh in you know to avenge what happened uh be careful however Israel uh has a mission now the

Problem the problem is that the taking of these hostages by uh Hamas and by the way those poor old ladies you took 85y old ladies hostage God’s sake uh anyway the the the the depressing thing about the hostage taking technique is it has kind of worked because nobody want

Including the Israelis of course nobody wants to see those people killed their lives sacrificed on the altar of what’s going on there uh so it the the the hostage thing has ACT acted as a big restraining influence on the Israelis but quite how long uh this kind of

Standoff with all these forces on the border is going to last for I don’t know I mean you remember back to the days in in Lebanon and Beirut when Terry wake was taking hostage and people were taking hostage and kept for for a year sometimes two years before they were

Ever let go and I mean I think the trouble is that the the the absolute kind of um crazed nature of of this uh the Hamas organization is that they have no sense of proportion they have no sense of time they have no sense of anything other than the destruction of

What they see as their you know is as their Jack booted oppressor Israel and so it’s hard to see any kind of um reason for for examp the European Union front of the telegraph today saying you know uh we should be looking towards a ceasefire macron Emanuel macron’s gone

Out there uh talking about having a ceasefire and again is going to say well we can’t have a ceasefire until they let the hostages go and by the way M mackel this Mission has only just begun they haven’t even invaded yet uh they’re in no mood for a ceasefire the uh bombing

By the way has intensified to an extraordinary extent I think it was yesterday or the day before they you know bearing in mind the gazer is only about 25 Mi long and about 3 or 4 miles wide uh two days ago I think it was uh 300 bombs were dropped on that small

Strip of land and that isn’t including the many hundreds that have been dropped before so it is being it seems to me almost systematically raised to the ground even before The Invasion happens EXA well of course we’re also hearing um because we do hear an awful lot about

The kind of the military techniques that they would use and they wouldn’t use an awful lot of actual individuals to go into the um sort of catacombs almost and the tunnel networks they would use a lot of drones they use a lot of robots they would clear spaces before they went

Through those particular areas but you’d have to believe unless Hamas is making people stay there forcing them to stay there people would be moving out wouldn’t they well well Israel uh is saying that when it does go in they’re predicting that that the fighting in Gaza alone could last 18 months uh

Because a city is the worst terrain for a battle totally in all of warfare so Israel is not deluding itself or the world it says when we go in as Netanyahu has said several times it will be a long and difficult War so what they’re doing now I mean extraordinarily Hamas

Basically exist in these this tunnel system yeah underneath uh the Gaza Strip uh and there are it’s there are more tunnels there than the London Underground system it’s three they’ve got 311 miles of tunnels and there’s a lot of weapons depositories there uh all sorts of equipment down there and that’s

What Israel is trying to do with this bombing is to destroy the tunnel system and therefore undermine literally undermine Hamas and frankly you know Israel will not be deterred from its Mission a mission that I think I approve I’m sure you two do do as well Mike and

That is to destroy Hamas literally to destroy when we saw that interview yesterday which we talked about with Victoria Basher and the former prime minister of Israel um Bennett um Mr Bennett left T Bennett I think it was he basically said look we don’t need your protection we don’t care uh what you

Think of what we’re doing we must protect our population we must stop yeah what Hamas has been doing and we must never let them have the opportunity to do it again according to the telegraph Washington apparent last night hoping to work with Qatar on a deal to release as

Many as 50 of the 222 hostages still held by Hamas but I mean again that won’t include presumably any who’s not a US citizen the thing about Hamas is you know the whole hostage thing their technique it just works so every time they let out two old ladies

Uh you know was it a couple of days ago it was a mom and her her daughter last night two old ladies they look sort of humanitarian they look like oh they’re doing the decent thing so they’ve got more than 200 of these people so can let

Two out here one out here one out here every time they do it they look like the good guys but they’ve still got 190 or so in dungeons somewhere underneath Gaza so uh and th those people it is their lives that we fear for and of course they’re Israeli citizens so Israel will

Be careful so you got two restraining influences one uh is the Israeli fears for their fellow citizens who are hostages and the other is the likes of Joe Biden who is really urging restraint here because of the potential humanitarian cast rophy inflicted on the pal the innocent Palestinians in the

Gaza Strip so Israel has taken a lot longer to go in than we’d expected because of these restraining influences but I think it will before too long absolutely right and of course yesterday we heard from none other than Jeremy Corbin in the house of C what did he say

Who started saying that we must look towards the ceasefire we must look towards the uh dissolution of the occupation we must look towards the freedom of Palestine um and according to the West Mr Sketch by quen let in the mail today Corbin had a go until rishy

Soon at chrisly record that he had once hailed hamas’s friends yes b as well uh so yes Jeremy Corbin is not necessarily someone you want to listen to here he’s obsessed with hating Israel always has done like all uh far-left labor rights he’s only ever had one foreign policy

Free Palestine doesn’t he doesn’t even know the names of any other countries that are abroad apart from Israel Palestine all they ever go well the only other thing I seem to remember Jeremy Corbin did in the days of Theresa May when the solsbery poisoning happened was that he said we shouldn’t jump to

Conclusions that it might involve the Russians remember that you know he was not convinced by he was the only person in Britain uh who thought we shouldn’t blame Russia yeah his his his policies uh you know it’s amazing to think that not so long ago he was the leader of Her

Majesty’s opposition but his policies all revolve around hating the country he was born in hating Britain he hates this country country uh and uh you know is obsessed with Palestine obsessed with hating Israel uh but of course is not an anti-semite no of course he’s not Kevin

Thanks very much indeed uh now while all eyes are on the war between Israel and Hamas the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is still raging on uh you might have forgotten about it but the geopolitical religious and cultural situations might be Worlds Apart um but are there any lessons that are going to

Be now learned from the fighting uh on our own continent joining me now senior lectur at Department of War studies at Kings College London Dr domitilla sag ramoso uh Dr domitilla very good morning to you thanks for uh thanks for joining us I mean all eyes currently on the

Middle East All Eyes currently on Israel and Palestine um but sometimes we forget that there’s still a massive war going on in Ukraine yes indeed indeed and um uh you know I mean there are elements of similarity but there are differences as well because I think one of the

Challenges that um the Israelis face when they’re trying to enter uh Gaza is um on what forces locally they might be able to rely if they eventually want to occupy this area because uh otherwise they might find themselves again in similar situation in a couple of years

Time uh and if we look at the examples for example which I think are more adequate to compare for example the way that the Russians carried out their operation in chicha eventually it was clear they had to rely on local forces and it was actually the kadiro forces

And uh you know that the sort of initially a sort of a presidential guard but then it became a very effective militia and it bloated in a very big uh sort of um uh force on the ground was the one that was able to uh really hit

Uh at the the the Insurgency the pro-independence Insurgency which had elements of uh of islamist jihadism because they had very good intelligence and They carried out operations uh that were much more effective in trying to identify not only the rebels but also the families and they were also hitting

At the families so the whole strategy was pretty brutal in that respect and Russia also uh as We Know by the photographs now you know massively bombarded gross so I think that uh this is more um adequate to compare than the campaign the current campaign uh in Ukraine which also has of course

Elements of urban Warfare and if we look at for example uh the battle over bmud it was extremely brutal uh it took a high number of casualties on both sides uh we remember how the Vagner group was sending more and more fighters in U many were um um element you know individuals

Who had been in prison so they were seen as sort of Cannon fod uh and that created a lot of challenges and um and uh it is also very difficult uh eventually um for those trying to to advance and to move you know sort of um

Block by block uh so I think these are examples which show how challenging these these um these wars can be if we look for example at how um the Coalition led by the United States uh defeated Isis uh in mosu uh it it took several months I think over nine months and it

Also relied on local you know relatively local forces as well because we had the Iraqis in Syria um you know the US was relying on kurd militias uh we also had Shia militias so I think that this is is a very challenging environment for the

For the Israelis so do you think then um that it might not be that we see any kind of ground war as such not least because there’s already hostages being held by Hamas but also because one it’s incredibly difficult to do in a way street by Street and also um very risky

As as well for those people doing it uh yes I mean that’s a big question I was reading a piece by Lawrence Freedman where he’s arguing that apparently now there there is more discussion as to whether actually to go ahead with this operation but it’s very hard to to

Explain to the Israeli public that suddenly they’ve decided they’re not going to go in you know and what are they going to do I think Israelis are in a very difficult position now because they you know their first reaction was to as we know to uh mobilize uh 300,000

Soldiers prepare the ground for an attack um I think the Israeli public generally wants um you know is Hamas to be fully destroyed and and there is a very strong sense that this cannot repeat itself these kind of attacks that Hamas has carried out so there’s probably a lot of pressure to do

Something about it and as your um previous speaker explained there are the constraints of the hostages and public opinion generally not just the United States but the understanding that if public opinion turns against them then becomes even more difficult and it put can put the life of Israel is abroad

Also at risk because there can be Terror attacks there are already a lot of anti-Semitism in many in many quarters uh so this is very problematic I think that eventually they will try to move in in some way but I don’t see how how this

Is going to um what what is going to be the end game what is going to be the final political strategy the only way that I mean I’m guessing here that they could find a way around it is to enter in some kind of negotiations for example with the Palestinian authorities in the

West Bank and see if they can find some way where negotiations are also started and uh and help the Palestinian Authority and um you know to regain control over Gaza but that is I think a very very difficult uh political path but if I was Israel that’s what I would

Be trying to do to find an alternative govern government in Gaza and work with them together uh but for of course for the Palestinians this is very difficult because nobody now wants to be seen as working together with Israel and uh the collaboration to a certain extent between the Palestinian Authority and

Israel has undermine the legitimacy also of of of Mahmud Abbas so I think that uh the you know this whole situation is extremely difficult but there is a possibility they do not move in but I don’t think what they would do instead because uh as we know massive

Bombardment does not really deter the enemy you need boots on the ground you need to take uh you know road by road City by you know City by city if there is not a massive surrender and I think Hamas strategy is exactly uh what we’re

Seeing in a way is this uh decision to maybe fight Street by Street uh the big question kind their it’s their kind of speciality in a way isn’t it it’s their territory uh it’s their um knowledge they know uh those streets they know those tunnel networks they’ve built them

And also you know they are not interested really in a ceasefire if you’re in Hamas you want to be at war with Israel because that’s the whole point of being Hamas is it not um because their belief system is that Israel should not exist you know Israel

Is saying that Hamas should not exist I don’t see anything happening really here apart from some quite long standoff going on it’s very possible and you you you said it rightly I mean hamas’s strategy is really to sort of uh rise sort of uh Muslims globally uh

Especially in the Middle East um to fight all on all fronts against Israel they’re probably hoping that Hezbollah will uh Advance on the North uh potentially also involve Iran that’s that’s what they want they want you know uh the the streets of Europe and America and other cities globally to to to

Demonstrate uh in support of their cuse uh I mean they’re really going full in and that’s that’s a strategy and also as you rightly highlighted they have all the local intelligence that is why these campaigns are very hard to carry out if you do not have uh a sort of a proxy

Force on the ground and the examples that I gave were examples where eventually for the Russians in particular in chuch became very clear that they needed to rely on loyal CHS to the Kremlin and that’s what they succeeded with ramzan kadirov so um I

Think you you will need a lot of um for the Israelis you know to to know to to understand that if they go in they’re going to have to take a lot of casualties and uh and that is also something that is going to be difficult

To do to sell domestically but if they do not go in it’s also very difficult so I think that the situation is possible that there is a bit of a standby but I would be if I would have to make a bet my bet is that probably they will try to

Get in and the question of course that many people ask and uh we’ll have to leave it after after I ask you this question we’re running a bit out of time is how much of the Palestinian population particularly in Gaza um would quite like to see Hamas getting success

And doing what is that they do best which is basically to continue a sort of jihad against Israel you know we keep hearing that well pamas doesn’t really represent Palestine but there’s an awful lot more people I think in in the Gaza Strip that support pamas than we

Know well I’m not an expert on the on the Palestinian conflict uh but what I can tell is that in a situation of Warfare when we fully bombarded on all sides which is what is happening now to the Palestinian population your initial tendency is to Rally around your

Leadership and your people uh and so I think that is you know might in the long term you might be very disappointed with the forces that led you into this disaster but uh your initial uh sort of instinct is to Rally around the flag and

To Rally around U sort of the the people and the and the leaders that uh you know that um that are in a way trying to protect you or carry out your um your cause and I think what the problem now is it’s going to be a very strong desire

For Revenge among the Palestinians uh even if Hamas is defeated the desire of Revenge the desire to hit at Israel and and Israelis is not going to disappear uh because uh because of the casualties they have suffered and and here what is is important and I again I I go back to

The areas that I know best which is the war in chicha for example the Russians succeeded eventually in what we call breaking the will of the Chans to fight and that is very costly takes a lot of time and that could happen maybe they’re following a similar model they’re saying

You know we are already in for the long term we’re going to break their will to fight because we are going to destroy uh you know Hamas and and potentially areas of of Gaza to the extent that they know that they only have to come to terms uh

With us uh that was a bit the strategy that Russia carried out it got a lot of backlash from the International Community and was one of the reasons why Russia and the West started to diverge so it has a lot of political consequences and Israel has to be very

Careful because it’s a small country and it relies on external Support also uh diplomatically uh but of course there they have a historical memory and this hor horrendous attack by Hamas has bring has brought up all the the memories of the Holocaust and and of their sort of

Submissiveness and I think that’s why they don’t want to go ever through that again and that is also understandable um so I think that the problem is that we’re going to see a cycle of violence a spiral of violence going up before it it calms down and both sides realize that

Maybe they need to sit down at the negotiating table Yeah I think you’re absolutely right Dr doila sagos thank you very much indeed lecture at the department of War studies at King’s College in London an intractable problem something that will go on for many many months possibly years uh from what uh

The doctor says and it’s entirely possible that that could happen but we’ll take your calls on it of course as well because the ramifications for Britain ramifications around the world uh ramifications for your tourism businesses the ramifications for you know outbreaks of jihadism if you want

My work it was a fabulous dinner until you two uh mooned us thank God for talk TV is not only the home of common sense it’s the only place where you get the Truth Welcome back you’re watching the independent Republican Mike gah right here on talk TV it’s now time for This now in the midst of the last few days and the last couple of weeks we haven’t really spoken much about the migrant problem because of course there’s been bigger problems that the world has been facing but of course like all things in the world they’re all slightly interconnected small boat

Migrants have been coming here now in very large numbers for the last couple of years uh they’re down slightly this year but from 40,000 last year to probably not far off 40,000 this year uh nobody really knows for sure where they’re coming from nobody knows for sure what they’ve done before they came

Here many of them of course uh from um Albania have now been deported back U but what we have had is a problem of putting people up in hotels Robert genrich uh is going to come out today on behalf of the government and say that it’s going to be time to stop putting

These migrants into very expensive luxury hotels well first of all I didn’t know they were being put in some very expensive luxury hotels but it turns out that they have been hotels like The Stoke Rochford Hallen in Lincolnshire which looks like something out of Downtown Abbey I’m looking at a picture

Here uh a former hunting lodge scalford Country House in leerer For Heaven’s Sake some of these hotels are places that you’d be happy to go to for a honeymoon you’d be happy to go to to have your wedding you’d be happy to go to for your 65th birthday uh or some

Kind of you know retirement due but for some reason the government has thought that it was a good idea to hire various different independent contractors to get people to pay £400 a night as much as400 a night for illegal migrants to stay in these hotels right they cost apparently

Something like8 million pound a day now Robert jri says that these hotels are now going to be disused and they’re going to put them in cheaper hotels which might cost as little as 50 to 75 a day of course the problem is that as usual the government doesn’t understand

Economics the government doesn’t have to worry about how much everything costs because the government isn’t paying guess who is that’s right it’s you and I the taxpayer is paying the bill 8 million pound a day I don’t have 8 million pound a day I don’t know about

You uh and the government and the country cannot afford it if they’re going to cut it down to zero good luck to them I don’t see that happening but here’s the thing surely the British people have a right to know precisely what the government is going to do

Precisely where these people are going to go and exactly how quickly they’re all going to be processed and if they’re going to be processed and told that they can’t stay how quickly are they going to be told to hop off because that’s what should happen it’s a very simple State

Of Affairs it’s not complicated I don’t know why it’s taking this long for to stop the boats policy that rishy sunak announced back in January to have any effect whatsoever the only thing that stops the boats right now are the tides and the weather because other than that

It’s a free-for all and I’m afraid it is not good enough so Robert jri you may think it’s a step in the right direction but a step in the right direction when you’ve been walking backwards for about two years is not really going to get you

Very far and it certainly isn’t going to win you the next election that was today’s taking the Bik welcome back you’re watching dependent Republican Mike Graham right here on talk TV president Emanuel macron is in Israel today to express France’s solidarity and to push for the release of hostages being held in Gaza by Hamas but he’s also uh looking at possibly some kind of ceasefire agreement that he

Could reach uh with the Middle Eastern countries of course that goes against the UK’s policy and the US’s policy but you can see Emanuel macron arriving there in Israel um meeting Benjamin Netanyahu of course joining me now is contributor to the times Adam Sage Adam uh very good morning to you thanks for

Joining us um uh we’re seeing uh today that the European Union and Emanuel macron is sort of slightly veering away from what at the moment is policy from the UK and from uh the United States looking more towards the sort of ceasefire trying to find some kind of

Peaceful solution to this um what are you seeing what are you hearing over there well I think Emanuel macron’s first objective is the free freeing of the uh that he now says there are possibly as many as n French hostages um we’re not exactly sure of their

Identities we know the identity of one it’s a 21y old woman who has taken hostage by hamus um uh in the raid on the rave party we think that there may be children amongst the hostages so I think that’s certainly his first objective is is trying to get the the

French hostages out he doesn’t say it in those terms he says he wants to get all the hostages out regardless of their nationality there’s no doubt that is the top priority of his visit um will he be able to achieve essentially what Biden achieved when the two American hostages

Were freed um following Biden’s visit beyond that what macron says that he says that he wants a humanitarian truth something along the lines of what Brazil was push was suggesting at the UN um uh last week to get Aid in um uh we know that the US vetoed the the the Brazilian

Proposal in the UN so will France be able to put that back on the table I think he’s he’s realistic in his ability to to to influence anything in the Middle East at the moment um he he’s not going to bring about um a truce um a

Humanitarian truce as the term is on his own and much less a ceasefire yes I think it’s very very difficult for any country really to try and impose anything on either of the sides isn’t it because Israel you know understandably say well we mustn’t have um Hamas having

The ability to do this ever again so we must do away with Hamas and that’s kind of their Red Line isn’t it so as long as the hostages are still being held in in Gaza and as long as Israel still believes that they have to end hamas’s existence um there’s not really much

Chance of peace is there no I don’t think so and I mean uh France has consistently uh said that it that it has a a singular voice is the term they like to use uh in terms of pressing for a viable Palestinian State and president and the Prime Minister have been saying

That in recent days um that uh uh that Rizo has the right to defend itself but they also believe that there should be a solution of two states with a Palestinian state but of course um that’s a message that is I imagine barely audible in Israel at the moment

Where um any any talk of a of a viable Palestinian State um as such would would no doubt be taken as a victory for for Hamas right at this moment so I think think that maon will be treading very very carefully um he he’s going to see

Benjamin naano he’s with him now he’s then going to go and see Muhammad Abbas in Ral the the the the Palestinian Authority leader he’d like to go on afterwards either to Cairo or to Jordan either to Egypt or to Jordan I think that’s certainly his plan um uh for

Talks there but he hasn’t announced it yet I think he was mindful of what happened to Joe Biden um who had announced that he was going to meet with Arab leaders only for that to be cancelled after the hospital blast so m macron is is treading very very

Carefully I think the Ambitions a French leaders they like to talk in grandiose terms but in Practical ter maon has has been will probably somewhat downplay the very grandio language that he likes because the objectives um in terms of bringing about peace as you rightly say are um realistically limited indeed and

How are things in France because obviously we’ve been speaking an off a lot here in this country about um what happened over the weekend the big March in London there was one the previous weekend as well free Palestine uh obviously a lot of very very strong feelings in France it’s a little bit

Different isn’t it in the sense that you’ve got specific uh laws about anti-Semitism um which you’re probably far more familiar with than I am what’s what’s being said sort of on the streets of Paris if you like well France of course has the biggest um Jewish Community um outside Israel in

The US it also has the biggest Muslim Community in Europe so it’s a very very tense place and there’s a lot of concern of importing the Middle East conflict here um and I think that that’s a real a real possibility see I’m just interrupt you for a second we’re just seeing

Emanuel macron and Benjamin Netanyahu having their joint press conference we’re just going to have a little listen in sorry to interrupt Kamas burned babies alive Kamas raped Kamas kidnapped hostages over 200 babies children elderly Holocaust Survivors we are in a war between barbarism and civilization Chanel Schultz who visited

Israel said that Kamas are the new Nazis and as in the second world war when the Allies fully supported the French anti-nazi Resistance today the International Community is uniting in support of Israel for Hamas barbarism not only threatens the Jews it threatens the Middle East it threatens the region it threatens Europe it

Threatens the world Hamas is the test case of civilization against barbarism Mr President you and the French people have known the horror of terrorism you experienced it in n and Leon in Paris you refuse to tolerate this threat and the people of Israel refuse to have

Isis uh in a terror Enclave on its border I have to explain this is not an enclave of Isis thousands of kilometers away from Europe it’s Isis in the suburbs of Paris it’s Isis you can drive 20 minutes and you reach the suburbs of Paris and you have Isis

There we cannot live like that nobody could live like that so we are doing everything we need to do to destroy Hamas in Gaza we will dismantle its Terror machine we will dismantle its political structure we will make every effort to release our hostages and we’ll make every effort to keep Palestinian

Civilians out of Harm’s Way it’s important to understand Hamas is committing a double War crime it’s not only murdering our civilians targeting our civilians doing unspeakable war crimes they’re also hiding behind civilians their own civilians we asked the people of Gaza to leave to go to a safe Zone in the South

Where we’re enabling humanitarian Aid to reach them Kamas is putting checkpoints with gun with people with guns to prevent Palestinians from leaving the war zone Hamas is responsible for civilian casualties but we will do every effort to avoid the uh and to fight this war as speedily and

As uh uh as rapidly as we can but it could be a long War when this is over the people of Israel will rebuild their communities and the people of Gaza will no longer live under Kamas tyranny but first there’s one condition one condition for anything that could happen

And the good things that could happen once this war is over and that condition is that Hamas must be destroyed and I thank you uh Emmanuel for coming here to Israel for standing with Israel for standing with us in Israel and expressing your support we rely on your continued support as this important

Battle for our future our common future uh proceeds till Victory thank you thank you very much Mr Prime Minister dear BB thank you for your words and I want to thank you for discussion we had together in tet and with our delegation and I I’m here to express our support our

Solidarity and our support for today tomorrow in all the different fields of this battle against terrorism if you allow me I will say a few words in French I don’t know if there is translation but I will make sure that you understand Now speaking in French we were talking to Adam Sage from the times just before we saw the um joint press conference with Benin Netanyahu and um the French President of course uh Adam we didn’t get to finish quite what you were saying there before about the largest um Jewish

Population outside of Israel in the US in France um how are the rules and the laws kind of affecting how people are reacting there well uh I mean the initial response of the French government of President M was to ban all Palestinian um uh prop Palestinian demonstrations um which they managed to

Do for a couple of weeks but then prop Palestinian um associations went to court and and had the ban um partially overturned as is to say judges said that the authorities would have to take a view on a Case by case basis um um uh there was a a prop Palestinian

Demonstration held um 10 days ago where we heard proi had his chance um and ala akba uh there was another one this weekend where uh those sort of chants had been were not heard uh um um and it was a demonstration um let’s say of of less

Less shocking in its terms I would say um um but nevertheless there is an awful lot of tension around there’s a lot of lot of worry in the French government that there will be an importing of of the conflict here uh yes France does have strict laws uh yes the government

Does ban demonstrations far more than the British governments do um and yes I think the French government will be more proactive uh in in in taking action um against in excitement terrorism and the sort of slogans that we’ve heard in Britain um would clearly I mean we’ve heard in Britain a demonstrations would

In my view clearly be viewed as an incitement to terrorism in France and if the those saying them were identified they would no doubt be prosecuted indeed thank you very much indeed Adam Sage there’re reporting into us from um Paris where clearly the French Government tried to prevent um

Pro Palestinian marches but would then take it to court and even under their new rules uh not so much new but rules against anti-Semitism and anti-semitic activity they weren’t able to stop them we’re watching Benjamin Netanyahu there uh having a joint press conference with Emanuel macron once again stating the

Aims really uh of the situation in Israel with Hamas you know as far as Netanyahu is concerned Hamas is not to be reasoned with it is not to be uh in any way kind of um taken as an equal party to the laws of justice and to the

Law laws of civilization he’s basically saying that as long as Hamas exists Israel is in danger and they can’t accept that that will be the case and so in the end I’m afraid um any form of ceasefire which the European Union are apparently pushing for as is uh Emanuel

Macron um that may not be achievable in any way shape or form I’m joined Now by baroness Kate hurry Kate very nice to see you welcome to our our new home um yeah this is an awful story it’s an awful situation um interestingly on the front of the telegraph today the

European Union and macron both are kind of urging a ceasefire um or at least some kind of projection towards the ceasefire but I just don’t really see how that can happen at at this point can you well I mean Hamas hasn’t really um complied with any ceasefires in the past

So I don’t really see what they mean by by that I mean presumably what they’re wanting to stop is any more bombing of of Gaza but you know the Israelis said right at the beginning after that horrendous week killing and rape and just you you hardly want to even talk about it especially

Since those pictures came out yesterday um I mean I often say to some what what should Israel have done in response um I mean the only thing that was going to satisfy Hamas is if the state of Israel is is destroyed it’s destroyed exactly and and uh how are they meant to you

Know attack hamus um without either going in with tanks and so on which I think would be pretty pretty disastrous in that kind of builtup area but you know it’s interesting because for me I it’s not a comparison with the IRA Mike but I was going to ask you that it’s not

Quite a comparison but there’s no doubt about it you know that in communities where the IRA was very strong there were an awful lot of Ordinary Decent nationalists even Catholic people who didn’t support the IRA but very difficult for them to speak out and similarly with I’m sure there are a lot

Of Palestinians in there who are desperately Keen to have a kind of more open Democratic Society but you know they’re they’re likely to be to be shocked or right and I think the difficulty in both of those situations for people who were shall we say sympathetic to the cause of the IRA a

United Ireland or certainly to to to get Britain out of the North as it were um you know they might have actually agreed with that I mean there might well be people in Palestine who they they don’t support Hamas absolutely they don’t support what they did but they support

What they want well I mean the two- State solution which is something that you know I certainly have always felt was was going to be the only way in the long term that we’d get real peace but the reality is hamus and other Palestinian organizations or non-palestinian organizations because

Let’s not forget a lot of this is coming from outside Palestine um have have rejected that you know they don’t they don’t want that they want Israel destroyed and I think that’s a worrying thing because what we’ve seen and I’ve just been pretty shocked at what we’ve

Seen here in in in I think I think everybody’s been shocked I mean we saw the story this morning about the tube driver and some people say well what’s the problem with free speech well there is a problem with a tube driver in my view uh encouraging a chant of free free

Palestine while he’s on his on his day-to-day job driving a train with people who are going on that train who seem to have completely forgotten and become to the horrors of October the 7th in order to try and make a political point that Palestine has been subjugated

For Centuries by Israel you know it just doesn’t seem it was it was quite chilling actually because if you’d been someone sitting there just a quiet person about your business on that day happened to get on that tube um had had sympathies with Israel or were Jewish

You would feel very very we discovered yesterday the reason the story came out in the first place was a friend of Kevin Sullivan Wendy Henry who you might know oh yes uh who was a former News newspaper editor uh who is Jewish and who had gone down to Picadilly to try

And sort of you know U take a stand if you like for people who had sympathies with Israel she was on the train with her husband and that was how the story came out because she felt very intimidated as as you would expect to be

In a sort of a crowd of people I mean if we’re watching some of this footage that we see people covering their faces shouting Jihad through loudspeakers you’ve got the police I mean you’ve got history of course in in City Hall here in London the police saying oh well you

Know uh when they say Jad it doesn’t necessarily mean a holy war it might just be that they’ be I mean you go come on I you knowly really absolutely ridiculous that whole sort of as if they brought in all these sort of psychiatrists psychologists and

Academics to sit and work out what the what the meaning of a word was absolutely outrageous but I it’s interesting that the tube driver has just been suspended uh for investigation so I I imagine what they’re hoping is that it’ll all go quiet then and that

You know he he won’t he won’t my worry is that these marches will continue I mean the people who organize them have said that they want to continue marching s of every weekend until this is resolved well it’s not going to be resolved anytime soon and you know when

You compared that with the amazing very very solemn pictures that came out of the trafala square is um Israel um support was just so moving uh them singing and and none of that kind of going out and you know the real difference when people say about how

Awful it is that what Israel are doing in Gaza the real difference is the Israelis are not going in and deliberately going into homes and murdering children and doing that yes they’re B no as we’ve heard quite often on this channel from various people on the Israeli side of the argument there’s

No equivalency between what is being ACC people some of the people marching wanted to make it clear but how much of it do you think and we’ve seen this in America an awful lot of academic institutions are leading U this kind of you know Pro Palestinian point of view

An awful lot of people um oh actually we got some breaking news we’re going to cross live to the Israeli Embassy in London where families of British Israeli kidnapped victims are holding a press conference uh let’s have a listen in we’re just waiting for um the

Families of some of the people who have been taken hostage many of them British of course uh waiting to hear what they’ve got to say we’re just about to go live there so we’ll bring you that as soon as we can um yeah Kate what I was

Going to say was how much of this is driven by this kind of social justice Mania which has been gripping the Western world really since black lives matter you know since George Floyd and all of that um I’m sorry to say before I got your answer we’re just going to go

Straight to this press conference let’s go the b massacr in Israel’s history maybe the biggest Massacre about 1,400 people were brutally murdered we have more than 220 people taking hostages in the hands of Hamas and we have thousands of people wanded from this Mass our duty is to speak out for those

People taken hostages by Hamas and to raise the world’s attention we need those families back home with us we have today four representatives of the families um we have um I start with a free a free B we tell story we have David B and we have um just the

Nami who are here to speak today we also have n Sagi who is available for questions uh his mother has been taken hostage uh by Hamas she’s 75 um so first our speakers will tell their stories then we’ll have time for questions and if after the press

Conference some of you are interested in having a uh interviews doing interviews please go through us through our team and we’ll arrange that for you uh again thank you for coming and the floor is yours um you want to start can want to start okay not today thank you is it okay

Thank you all for coming my name is atisi I’m 46 years old and married I’ve got three teenagers at home um I live in the North about 2 hours from uh the Gaza border and about an hour north of Tel Aviv and on October 7 uh around 8: in

The morning I woke up uh to my husband’s voice he was speaking on the phone which was um pretty unusual so early on the Shabbat morning and he said something bad’s happening down south call your mom now so I grabbed my phone and and as I opened

My can can you yeah as I opened my phone um I saw my childhood friends we have a um okay thank you um I saw my childhood friends we have a YouTube WhatsApp group uh saying that there’s a missile attack and also um uh a ground Invasion by

Hamas terrorists that they were inside uh my family’s KS so I called my mother frantically and I said go in the safe room look the the door don’t let anyone in don’t answer uh little did they know you can’t lock the door from the inside because this was never thought of so the

Room is designed concrete and metal to shelter them from rocket but it isn’t a lock uh she said the house wasn’t locked and the next thing I heard were uh man’s voices speaking to her uh in English with an accent Arabic maybe they heard her speaking English

To me my mother was born and raised in South Africa so I immediately realized what was happening and knew they got to her so I hung up the phone and I call my brother he lives next door 10 m from her and I said go in the safe room lock the

Door don’t let anyone else in I don’t know what’s happening at moms because I didn’t want to tell him what I already knew because I wanted him to to react and not to panic uh and the next thing I had the same voices speaking to him so I realized uh they called him

Too uh I called um I called a friend on the Kuts just to let them know that the terrorists were at my mom’s and at my brothers and to send help but no one no one no one could could get there because our little SEC guards were already

Engaged in battle with W groups on other neighborhoods in the keyboards uh then I got two pictures minutes later uh sent to me from my mom’s phone to mine showing um I can do this without the mic if you want is it can anyone can everyone hear me

Okay um so the next thing I um I got two pictures sent to me from my mom’s phone to mine showing my mother sitting in the living room stealing her nightwear um my my brother sitting on the sofa so they brought my brother from his house to to hers uh he was dressed

But Barefoot underneath the two pictures it said in English Hamas uh a third picture of the same uh series they uploaded Hamas uploaded to my mom’s Facebook story uh so my mom is 79 she doesn’t know how to upload uh images to Facebook story so someone else

Did that and the pictures are not a selfie so it’s obvious they were taken by a third party and that was the last last I heard of them I later learned uh a neighbor saw them being taken walked out of the house and taken by foot

Um but I didn’t know that at the time I’ve only learned that a couple of days later that they were actually seen walked out the house so the next few hours I just I was just uh waiting for uh the Army to get to my mom’s house and see what what they could

Find uh the first few hours I thought they were gone dead both my mom and my brother I thought they were probably murdered um the um news of uh of civilians being kidnapped only started circulating around noon so until noon I didn’t even imagine the possibility I

Just thought I I’ve lost them and all I wanted was my my other brother and my friends and my friends families out cuz I really I I figured thisa this tragedy hit me it’s going to hit me really really hard I don’t want anyone else to go through what I’m about to go

Through around noon the news about the kidnapping started circulating and then I started thinking maybe the pictures were Proof of Life uh maybe they were taking I didn’t even know what was the the better option being killed or being kidnapped by by Hamas um so it was a waiting uh waiting

Period and around 700 in the evening when the Army managed to get to my uh mom and my brother’s house and uh I got a phone call from from there telling me my mom and my brother were missing and so was my older brother uh I wasn’t in

Touch with him all day because we never spoke during uh an a missile attack or an event we always spoke after so I wasn’t in touch with him uh I was in formed he was missing too his phone was found in his house the next day 9:00 8 9:00 in the

Morning I drove to the nearest police station to my house to file a um formal missing person’s report and to submit my DNA and as I went into the police station I received a phone call from uh my family is kots that my oldest brother Roy was 4 who was

54 was found his body was found at daylight uh he was shot dead behind his house murdered um so I filed a missing report for my mom and my brother um the mass casualties um bodies are still being identified as we speak because of the numbers and because

Of the conditions of those uh who were murdered um 18 days later my brother’s body hasn’t been identified officially just yet I’m 46 years old my life at the moment is worrying for my diabetic mom and brother who are being held by Kamas um my mother needs insulin shots I don’t

Know if she’s getting them and how long she can survive without them and then on the hand um I’m chasing dental records and x-rays and um filing forms asking me if my brother had scars or tattoos or which he didn’t so trying to identify my brother

So we can bury him and bring him to rest and then um and then bringing my mom and my other brother home so this has been my life for the last 17 18 days now 18 days I find it when I ask people what day is it they say Monday or Tuesday and

I count by numbers no it’s day 18 my life stopped on the 7th of October um it’s I I try not to deal with my loss of my brother at the moment because I find it too painful and if I start thinking about that then it will hurt too much and it’ll

Break me and I don’t have the privilege of breaking because I have a mission and they need to be efficient and effective and productive trying to get the Red Cross to our family members to see them to get lists of who’s been taken these are 18 days later we haven’t had any

Information are they getting the medications that that they need um so we’re chasing information we’re trying to get uh the hostages help and we’re trying to get information out uh and we don’t have that just yet um I’ll show you the this is my mom she was supposed to be in in London

Now on a holiday with my brother and they’ve had um I know people from the kutas around us it’s that type of a community with Farmers my brother who was murdered where uh in the dairy men years like my dad uh did for 35 years my dad passed away years

Ago um I worked at the in the Dair as a young as a young uh teenager uh this this is the life we lived it’s a it’s a quiet simple uh peace peaceful life that’s been shuted to pieces on October 7th and all we did was work in the fields and milk the

Cows and now my brother is dead and my family is being held against the will in Gaza and and I’m here to raise awareness for my family of for all families who have young children and Holocaust Survivors and uh young women and men elderly in medical need and I’m here to

Speak uh for my family and for the um and to be the voice for everyone who can’t be here with us now uh this is a humanitarian crisis this is a crime a war crime and the hostages have to be released and returned um this isn’t a political

Issue this is a human uh crisis and we demand the return of our loved one’s home so uh we can start healing from this trauma thank you um my name is basevi my younger and only brother yaden ER then bibas was kidnapped together with the with his wife

Shiri um and they’re two young boys Ariel is four years old and kir is 9 months old this is Sheri um the day of the attack I was texting my brother uh 6:30 he wrote to me they were going inside the safe room in their house uh he wrote here we go again

Meaning H they were used to the missiles attack they were living in O for for years um I left the area the area over there just a month ago um so I was still a part of a WhatsApp group of another kibuts so I saw all the texting over

There talking about the terrorist invading the kibuts and H shooting killing people burning houses and all the horrible things they’ve done um so quickly we realized it was a some a whole other thing something different than what we used to um my brother wrote

To me you can hear a lot of gun fires outside his house H terrorists screaming in in Arabic um he told me that he his gun was loaded but he can hear they they were using automatic weapons so he was terrified and very very

Scared um I asked him to to to keep it quiet um he said we were trying to but it’s hard keeping uh such little boys H quiet for so long um maybe 20 minutes later he wrote there was a massive fires outside our house right now I wrote to him that’s good

Maybe they somebody killed a terrorist he think he said I don’t know I have no idea what’s going on I’m terrified and then he texted me and my parents he says um he said I love you all I never called him because I was afraid his phone will make

Noise I never wrote I told him don’t say that shut up I didn’t wrote I wrot I love you back I was sure everything will be okay but 10 minutes later he wrote they were coming inside um meaning they were coming inside his house and that was the

Last text I got from from him uh a few hours later we got um a photo we didn’t know what’s going on um a few day a few hours later we got a photo of Shiri and the kids being kidnapped surrounded by terrorists um later a few hours later we

Got also the video of the kidnapped and the video of them being uh them breaking inside my my my brother’s house um seeing this video was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve I’ve ever had to witness I could see how terrified Cheri was she kept screaming in the

Video stop stop I can see her looking for for my brother I’m guessing um I was looking for my brother in the video any kind of sign of my brother um I could see Ariel the the the older one just looking like confused and shocked and I

Don’t know what they were going through inside the house before they were taken I know they the terrorist did shoot the the family dog in front of their eyes um was trying to protect them we guess by the way he stormed from the safe house um and for three days we didn’t

Know anything about my brother um I had a really bad feeling I I I kept thinking he was lying dead inside their house um but then on the morning of his birthday which was uh October 10th um we got his foot uh some pictures of him also being taken uh by

Terrorists this is one of them um you can see him we can see him him alive uh but still we know these pictures are from Saturday we only we got them only on Tuesday uh it was bleeding from his head uh the terrorist and another picture is really strangling him on this

Picture I can see the there’s a hammer here with blood on it and my head my brother’s head is bleeding um and those pictures and the shies video with the kids is is our last sign of life from them 18 days ago um this has been quite incredible um

Kate hurry’s with me baroness hurry I mean hard to imagine these are the families the first um guest at the press conference AET vitki whose mother has been taken um h ostage her brother as well um another brother was killed um they’re showing pictures I mean this

Latest um speaker is describing how she didn’t want to send a message to her brother because she worried that hamus might hear it and they would come and find him and kill him he’s been taken hostage her brother I mean this is unbelievable isn’t it and it I think

What comes through is the sort of dignity of those families they you know they’re just recounting how they feel in a in a way that is not you know over emotional they’re obviously trying just ordinary people AR they ordinary people with ordinary families with ordinary stories to tell about their families in

An extraordinary situation where literally as the first um lady said you know she’s counting the days in terms of days since the atrocity so it’s day 18 for her it’s not Tuesday it’s not Monday it’s day 18 and it’s hard to imagine when she said that number that it’s

Almost three weeks since that happened I know the time has and I can’t imagine I mean we’ve all got family imagine if one of your family members was currently being held hostage in the Gaza Strip by Hamas I can’t imagine what you would feel like no it’s it’s unbearable and I

Remember reading something from someone who said that they they knew their their um was his daughter had been killed but a granddaughter but he was pleased because he thought I don’t want her in the hands the AL would have been worse but if they’ve got that number it’ be

I mean we I expect we will find out what the conditions are that they’re being held in the hostages they’re obviously very clever they’ve kept some separate very they like I don’t think there’s any doubt that the fact that they have the hostages has has so far prevented any

Kind of incursion by Israeli ground troops I think that’s that’s obviously right but but before I let you go Kate and I’m sorry that we’ve been sitting here for a long time not talking but this is just too dramatic I think to watch but but in terms of the the final

Settlement if you like from um the Irish perspective when I mean I heard somebody just the other day commenting that you know 20 years ago you wouldn’t have thought we’d have peace in Northern Ireland but we now do to a pretty large extent um I mean can you see any kind of

Resolution to this I mean I just can’t well you see I think peace really only came about in Northern Ireland when the IRA knew they would never admit it but they knew that they had been defeated militarily and therefore the decision was taken that the only way they would work towards United iseland

Was by political means I mean they obviously lost a lot of supporters for doing that but so what we’re going to have to see is a is um you know groups like hamus and being being being defeated but you know I I don’t have any more ways of saying how you defeat them

Without make without ensuring that there’s no genuine civilan uh killed and of course Iran is is the worry because they clearly controlling things and uh you know no one wants to see us going into a situation where Lebanon is drawn in and we get back to a really really

Serious situation yeah but I think also you know we have to keep firm and and strong and not Pander to those who are simply saying you know we must we must immediately have a ceasefire because I just do not believe that hamus will will go along with that they won’t they won’t

As far as you can throw them baroness Kate Hy thank you so much thank you very much for joining us coming up uh today actually marks 12 months since richy sunak took the top job uh with labor swearing in two new MPS yesterday can you be sure of 12 more don’t go

The preservation of the habitat of the Lesser spotted M the problem lies in the bureaucrat it’s almost like they highly paid Consultants don’t really know what they’re doing the first thing they teach you in weather school is never confuse dog walkers with Doggers Twitter you sons of can you please reinstate my

Account thank you there’s a threat that you’d be worried about so are you saying that you’re being overwhelmed that you’re inundated we are really working hard for you we’re just asking patients to be patient with us the one thing label would be terrified of if Boris Johnson zoomed

Back into full Focus Boris Johnson isn’t what he was most of them seem to have given up welcome to the talk it’s really great to be back my Little Darlings kids think all they have to do is stay at home be silly take pictures of everything just

Shut down Tik Tok then yeah problem problem solved fit as a butcher’s dog there you go he’s fit as a butcher’s dog him all right but but he’s now middle class here T the knock on effect is far larger than just CO2 I nearly have empathy when I’m

Speaking to them I know know you’re probably going to Boop me off show after this kind say I’m not I’m not a Swifty critics I’d say me included got former PMS all over the joint saying things the last few days we have indeed yeah great

First show you having fun oh a ton of fun King peers and King CBE I think there only R for one king you know I’m saying just cuz they’re skin folk don’t mean they’re kin folk when I say I am God you think I’m joking or not you tell

Me I’m not joking I’d rather do it on camera no no no no if it’s on camera we’re not doing an interview we’ll explain why how do you feel about that influence that you have you better be careful we’re coming for your children there buddy yes I’m going to do you’re going

To resol yes cuz I cannot continue my work it was a fabulous dinner until you two uh mooned us thank God for talk TV is not only the home of common sense it’s the only place where you get the Truth Welcome back you’re watching the independent republic of Mike Graham right here on talk TV today Believe It or Not marks prime minister’s oneye anniversary in 10 dowy Street but after byelection defeats and a huge polling deficit and a long list of Tor MPS quitting at the next election uh it is

Fair to say it hasn’t been exactly a walk in the park and now the prime minister is under pressure from some back benches to cut taxes but will he be allowed to do so um and what will Mr Hunt the chancellor have to say about I’m delighted to be joined Now by Paul

Scully Minister for London uh live now down in college green I’m glad the rain stopped Paul nice to see you um what is going on uh inside that building behind you because um it was a pretty awful week last week for Rishi sunak and a pretty bad week for the Tory party in

General um will there be any chance of the taxes being cut what do you see well we’ve got uh difficult situation economic situation that’s ongoing it’s improving the political situation is stabilizing ing under isy as well but there are loads and loads of challenges ahead he’s still U getting

You going through his program the five pledges Haring inflation reducing the debt growing the economy stopping the boats and reducing the backlog in the NHS and that’s all uh progressing along difficult things to do but we’ll see what happens in the Autumn statement I can’t preempt that but clearly the

Byelections were also difficult you know you saw people conservatives staying at home we’ve got to do what we can to motivate them over this uh these coming few months this coming year to make sure they come out keep K stama and the people behind him like JY Corbin and

Other labor MPS out of power and the conservatives in to continue that Journey do you think the problem’s going to be though motivating them to get out and vote as you say because you know conservatives historically don’t like to vote for other parties they either vote conservative or they don’t um it’s going

To be a struggle isn’t it because you’re going to have to ideally pinpoint precisely what people want um I mean I can probably tell you what some of the things uh will be that they want um there’s a move towards moving people out of these luxury hotels the migrants um

Crisis is going on but if that doesn’t really I mean if that all that does is move them into slightly cheaper hotels in other parts of town rather than the country that might actually backfire anyway yeah that’s the case but that’s not what’s happening you know the hotels

Are costing something like 6 million quid a day we’ve got to get rid of that situ situation to solve the problem a different way we’ve seen Crossings down 20% this year compared to last year we’ve seen the uh movement of albanians to this country down 90% since the deal

That we struck with the Albanian government so it is a really difficult problem to solve stopping the boats but we’ve got to do it we are doing it um but it’s going to take that little bit of time to work through and that’s what we got before we can start demonstrating

What we want to promise people for the next 5 years we’ve actually got a promise uh show that we can deliver on these five pledges first yeah but let’s have a look at those five pledges because we’ve got Hospital waiting list still not particularly Down Still M or

Less going in the wrong direction um I’m not absolutely sure what’s going on with the doctor’s strikes I think they’re still going on I think they’ll probably have another one or two soon um next time you have a conference no doubt they’ll probably decide to go out on

Strike again um stop the boats I mean pretty much you’ve admitted you haven’t stopped the boats um inflation’s coming down not really much to do with richy sunx policies more to do with just overall kind of you know economic conditions um you know the five pledges

He said he should be judged by the end of the year so you got a lot making up to do between now and December well there’s lots to happen but honestly you can’t pick and choose what’s happening though uh there Mike because the inflation figures you know

They’re always uh looking as they coming down but we’ve seen the fluctuations for the last year and part of that is because of the strikes themselves and the wage demand so what the government has done is it’s really uh pushed hard to make sure that we’re paying people a

Fair wage but we’re doing it in a way that isn’t inflationary in itself isn’t causing that extra demand uh in itself so that we can keep the trajectory of inflation coming down difficult when it’s not like kind of inflation that we had in the 80s but which was through an

Overheating economy it’s inflation caused by a tight Liber Market and of course the war in Ukraine which is fueling Fe food prices and energy prices I mean the other big story of course of the last 18 days as we’ve just been told by some of those terrible stories that

The families have just been telling at a press conference in London uh people whose elderly mothers have been kidnapped by Hamas you know the war in the Middle East is clearly going to have an impact on everything over the next several weeks and months and possibly

Even over the next year um one of the things I wanted to ask you as Minister for London you know we’ve had the Metro Police uh Chief Sir Mark roelly saying that you know Jihad doesn’t necessarily mean a holy war you know we’ve hired some Specialists to tell you the

Difference between an Isis flag uh and and a flag of faith in Islam we’ve got you know hundreds of thousands of people potentially marching around London over the next few weeks who want us have free Palestine Jewish people saying that they’re in fear uh for their actual

Existence in in England and you’ve got even today the front page of the uh Sun uh with Dame Margaret lip Morin Lipton saying that she was offered basically um uh protection by ITV because of all the anti-Semitism I mean it’s a massive problem for London isn’t

It oh absolutely is to finish your first point with this context clearly the global instability including now the uh the conflict and Israel and and and Gaza really does fuel inflation it fuels movement of people as well back to the the boat situation but what we’ve seen

In London is uh an incredibly complex situation but a situation that needs to be placed incredibly robustly you talked about that uh call for Jad and you know we’re not talking about a religious dissertation here we are talking about hitb uh an organization where many people including people that were speaking yesterday have

Supported the acts the terrorist acts of Kamas they’ve called for the destruction of Israel I think we clearly know what Jihad meant in that context what I’ve been asking people to do in London from both sides of the argument is to for goodness sake be temperate with your

Words support the uh the the people in Palestine to be able to live a peaceful and Equitable life support Israel’s ability to self determine their future to be defend themselves but don’t go overboard using the words of terrorists uh because you don’t really fully understand what is inevitably a complex

Situation otherwise you’re just inflaming further and further more and more tension here on the Streets of London but doesn’t also the presence of all of those people marching in London increase tension just by their very existence I mean the police have admitted basically that if they were doing it outside the synagogue they

Wouldn’t let them but they could apparently do it down pickadilly well look I mean I think the right to protest has been uh has been enshrined in UK law for you know for for a long long time so I think if people want to come out in the streets that’s

Up to them as long as they’re doing it with the police clearly it has to be consistent though because there was obviously a vigil in gold as green in North London with a Jewish Community wanting to come out uh uh uh to uh to remember those people that have been

Kidnapped in Israel and to then to commemorate those awful attacks that we’ve seen some of the detail coming out um over the last 24 hours that happened a couple of weeks ago we saw the people in travala square who who held a vigil were able to hold a vigil actually

Penned behind barricades purportedly to protect them but I can you imagine if you’re a member of the Jewish Community that’s been barricaded in to be able to uh remember your loved ones when you see 100,000 people people coming down the streets of whiteall it’s very inconsistent and I think that’s we’ve

Got to keep the safety on the Streets of London so policing is very complicated and it’s an operational matter for the police but we’ve got to have that consistency yeah I mean absolutely right because they’ve said they’re going to continue with these marches they’re going to continue having them every

Weekend but you’ve got memorials coming up you’ve got Armistice Day coming up you’ve got um you know poppy day coming up you’ve got the Senate half um Sunday as well for Remembering Sunday I mean the two things can’t coexist surely well you got to work these things

Through that’s what I mean about the operation the operational nature that the police have to lead on but look I say to people coming out on the streets first of all you know yes have a uh you know make sure that you’re campaigning for a just reason but also use the words

It’s a complicated situation don’t come out because you’re jumping on a bandwagon where were uh you know people calling out uh the terrorist actions of Hamas and uh you know killing children indiscriminately literally by their own hand uh where have these people been for the last few years it needs a

Consistency it needs a degree of thought rather than just different groups desperate groups coming in and agitating within um people who as a say are coming out into the streets not really understanding the complexity of the situation in the Middle East that then just goes to fuel that geopolitical

Situation in the Middle East as well as inflaming tension on the Streets of London yeah let me just take you back to his terer because because you can refer to them as terrorists um they’ve been banned in Bangladesh in China in Germany and Russia and Turkey and Indonesia uh

And all other Arab countries apart from Lebanon Yemen and the UAE um why are they not prescribed terrorist organization in this country well I know Tony Blair was looking at this David Cameron was looking at this and uh you know I think that’s something we we’ll always keep

Under review it’s not my long you know I can’t give you the depth of understand yeah no it is but I can’t give you the depth of understanding as to uh to give you a good EXP explanation of why uh that is not the case now I think you

Need to speak to one of our security ministers home office Minister uh to look at that but it is something clearly we need to look at what people are saying how people are inflaming tension and then act accordingly right well they say presumably will the police say what

We said was okay so what what do you mean what do you mean we have to be shut down similarly an incredible story at the weekend in the Sunday Times revealing that one of hamas’s leaders uh has been living in Collindale a part of North London heavily populated by Jewish

Um minority um in Barnet in the bur of Barnet bought a council house got a discount from the council I mean it’s incredible isn’t it yeah well if you’re if you’re a member of a terrorist organization clearly that needs to be investigated that and I’m sure that will be the case

At the uh Security Services we’ll be looking at that yeah well let’s hope so uh let’s hope he’s not hanging around for too much longer Paul very good to talk to you thanks very much indeed Paul Scully there Minister for London uh talking to us live from college green uh

Down in Westminster where to be honest um you know you’d have to wonder sometimes what on Earth is going through people’s minds you know you’ve got Pro Palestinian um marches going on uh you’ve got Jewish groups being told that they shouldn’t have um vigils you’ve got people being told in the Jewish

Community that they might be in danger so they shouldn’t have a particular viil and at the same time you’ve got a former Hamas leader uh who’s still obviously associated with Hamas living in the part of North London which is heavily populated by Jewish people uh and you’ve now got a prescribed illegal

Organization operating in Britain where it’s not illegal despite the fact that it’s illegal in most other countries issuing orders for Jihad which the police in this country say is okay it’s all right they don’t really mean it they don’t really mean a holy war no they

Don’t mean that at all for God’s sake coming up after the break we promise to hear from you we will get some of you on but also we’re going to hear from Top Gear Legend Steve Barry he’s going to be with us to talk about you protesters

Because they drove a tank through London yesterday and guess what they didn’t get a fine because tanks are compl flying don’t go Anywhere [Applause] Welcome back to the independent Republican Mike graah right here on talk TV uh there’s lots to do and we want to hear from all of you as well of course so make those calls 0344 4991 1,000 James has put this to us on Twitter my God the Haring accounts of British Jews

Of their family members being murdered and kidnapped by Hamas in Israel there were no words for their suffering now consider that we are allowing people into the UK to support Hamas and believe these vile actions were just and Sue says this doing my ironing while listening to your show tears streaming

Down my face for the absolute horror of hatred the poor poor families have all affected by the barbarism of Hass have been to aitz and dout to pay my respects it cannot ever be done done again and I think everyone would react in exactly the same way watching those families the

Horror of being part of that particular ghastliness where you hear from your family members one day uh that there are Hamas terrorists approaching your house you’re worried that they might be killed you’re worried that they might be taken hostage it turns out that some of them

Are killed and some of them are taken hostage and the calmness with which those family members were able to talk about what was going on was quite extraordinary incredible on the subject of migrants Linda says on the closing of 50 hotels housing migrants can you get Robert jri to tell us where these

Individuals are going to be planted uh because say an average of 200 per hotel that’s 10,000 people of possibly unknown uh Heritage to be put somewhere in our communities well I think that’s absolutely right uh and one from Edie who says I wonder Mike if this tube driver shouting for freedom of Palestine

Is one of those who’s been on strike and if he was how far he thinks he’d get pulling that resistance in Gaza well very good question uh coming up we’re going to talk a little bit about ules and how unfair the ules charges are because somebody actually drove a tank

Through Central London yesterday uh didn’t get a ticket because of course ules is compliant for tanks so if you want to know where you can go and how you can get by and how you can get around uh if you’ve got an old vehicle just get yourself a tank we’ll be

Talking to somebody about that very shortly but let me tell you first of all before we go anywhere else we mentioned this earlier with Kevin a Sullivan a fascinating story this week about electric cars because more and more people seem to have electric cars I mean

Park my car uh in various different car parks around central London at various different times and you see more and more electric cars out there you see more and more people who have decided to swallow the Kool-Aid and save the planet by getting themselves an electric car

They can be on the expensive side like a Tesla or they can be on the cheapest side like a Nissan Leaf there’s still an awful lot of technology that is unknown but an extraordinary story crossed my desk today and it’s from The Daily Telegraph in which they say electric

Cars at the moment are under risk of becoming uninsurable and I’ll tell you what that means it doesn’t mean that you can’t drive the car it doesn’t mean that you’re in any danger it just means that insurance companies are starting to look at the dangers of electric cars and

They’re starting to ask questions so much so that John Lewis’s Financial arm last month actually stopped insuring electric cars if you’re a user of one and you’ve got a policy they won’t renew it uh if you’re a new customer they won’t give you insurance cover for an electric car and apparently the reason

Is because it’s very ult to tell what the battery condition is and it’s very difficult to tell particularly uh when there’s been an accident what kind of damage has been done to the internal workings of the car now according to Jonathan huitt Who’s chief executive of the thatchum research uh which is a

Motor Insurance’s Automotive Research Center he says a lack of insight and understanding about damaged electric cars has meant that it’s impossible really for the risk to be assessed so if you’ve got an electric car and you have a pray unlike a real car as I call them

A petrol car or a diesel car you know which can be mechanically put back together if the electrics on electric car are damaged nobody really knows for sure what the effect of that might be and also they don’t know if the battery is getting older precisely what that

Will mean uh for the renewing of a new battery because of course what we do know is a new battery will be extremely expensive it could cost as much as £15,000 so the secondhand car market for electric cars is really not going to be very good and if you’ve got an electric

Car now and in five years time you’re going to want to sell it it might be that nobody wants to give you any money for it because at the very least they’ll have to put a new battery in because the battery will have outlived its life and

Of course the electric car zealots will say oh yeah but they’re still so much better than petrol cars and they’re still going to save the planet Mr huitt says this the challenge is that we have no way of understanding whether the battery has been compromised or damaged

In any way it’s already the case that electri elect cars are much more expensive to repair experts have previously warned that electric vehicles are being written off after minor bumps because it’s so complex to try and fix the battery it’s absolutely unbelievable um and basically what they’re saying is

That it’s like a doctor trying to understand what’s wrong with you without any notes or without the capability of running an x-ray and we’ve now got some insurance companies who are charging people as much as1 a week to actually ensure your own car which is unbelievable isn’t it absolutely

Incredible so my message to all of you who still say electric cars are the way forward I’m afraid they might more likely be the way backwards because it’s going to cost you an awful lot more than you thought so what you save by not paying Road tax is going to hit you in

The pocket when you have to take it in to be repaired if somebody smashes into you and that my friends I’m afraid is a bit of a problem isn’t it more on that coming up in the next hour coming up next though the BBC still won’t call her

A terrorist group and now it’s investigating six of its journalists over accusations of anti-israel bias what does the future hold for the BBC I’ll be back after This we’re here good morning everybody hope you’re well thanks for joining us you’re watching the independent republic of Mike right here on talk TV welcome to Friday night with Nadine here on prime time we like to speak to the business people behind big moments good evening

Was a fabulous dinner until you two uh mooned us thank God for talk TV is not only the home of common sense it’s the only place where you get the Truth on TV on Radio and on your smartphone this is talk TV good afternoon and welcome to the independent republic of Mike grah you with talk on TV on radio online and on your smart speaker of course as well coming up a tube driver who chanted free Palestine on the London Underground

Train has been suspended plus no more migrant hotels today the government will unveil plans to terminate contracts saving the taxpayer they say about 8 million a day the Britney Spears drops a tell all book two years after the end of her conservatorship which throws accusations at her ex poop star boyfriend Justin Timberlake Welcome back to the independent republic of Mike Graham coming up in the final hour have your say on the BBC and get in touch on all the socials at talktv and don’t forget on the phones as well 0344 499 1000 let’s get the latest news headlines right now though from Emily Rose

Adams good afternoon it’s been confirmed that 10 British Nationals have now been killed in the Israel Gaza conflict and another six are still missing meanwhile one of the two elderly hostages released by Hamas says she’s been through hell while describing how she was kidnapped by gunmen on motorbikes yed lifits was

Released last night but her husband remains captive the 85-year-old’s daughter has spoken of her relief to see her mother again it’s wonderful um my mom is very much hoping that all the people that were with her will come back and the story is not over till everybody come

Back well it’s as Hamas has said that Israeli Air Raids on Gaza during the night killed at least 140 Palestinians Sally Abed is a Palestinian campaigner what we’re trying to do here uh within Israel is uh understand how we can uh hold um you know both sides and the human loss uh um

That we are all enduring the two peoples are enduring um in one side and really understand how we can move forward from there well as the conflict continues the prime ministers insisted police have the powers needed to tackle anyone inciting violence here earlier the head of the Metropolitan Police suggested there

Might be gaps in the law after the word Jihad was used at a pro Palestinian rally in central London Peter Bley a former met police detective has told talk TV the police should be doing doing more to act on this senior cops are terrified of of escalation at these

Events but on a positive note and a pat on the back for SAR roley because at neither of these demonstrations have we seen police officers with Palestinian Flags painted on their face and let’s face it we’ve had rainbows we’ve had take in the knee we’ve had all kinds of

Stuff so maybe he’s making some progress in other news several people are missing after a British cargo ship sunk off the coast of Germany Emergency Services say the Verity was heading from Breman to Lincolnshire where it was involved in a crash with another vessel judges in England and Wales could be forced to

Take pregnancy into account when sentencing female offenders it’s only recommended they consider it at the moment as part of a consultation but campaigners say that unborn babies are put at risk in prison and shouldn’t be punished for their mother’s crimes and parts of England already hit by flooding

During storm beet are being told to expect more disruption a new yellow metal offers weather warning for rains come into force in the East Midlands and Yorkshire the cleanups continuing in eastern Scotland that’s the latest now time for more on today’s weather with nazing Gaffa times radio sponsors talk TV weather hello it was a dry start to the week yesterday but the rest of the week I’m afraid is looking unsettled we’re going to continue to see low pressure system after low pressure system coming in off the Atlantic bringing with it

Spells of rain or heavy showers at times as well in fact rain will persist for much of this afternoon across the northeast of England the East Midlands where there is a warning from the Met Office as that rain isn’t that heavy but it persists in an area where there’s

Already been flooding issues so it’s really going to exacerbate the issues there by the end of the day rain will also spread to the southwest of England or Wales the rest of England or Wales mostly fine with the odd show or to Northern Ireland and Eastern parts of Scotland seeing some showers then

Overnight we’ll see rain become quite extensive from the southwest across many Central and Southern parts of England and Wales some really heavy downpours and there could be some problems for the morning rush hour around southern and Southeastern parts of England with all that rain the rain across the Northeast

Eases away but it heads up towards Eastern parts of Scotland most of it light but still not really welcome in these areas so tomorrow rain continues around Eastern parts of Scotland the rain eases from the southeast of viam but yet more rain spreads to the Southwest later times radio sponsors talk TV Weather welcome back to the independent republic of Mike grahe right here on talk TV the BBC has launched what it’s calling an urgent investigation into six journalists and a freelancer working for its Arabic language service over accusations they had shown anti-israel bias in their coverage and expressed

Support on social media for Hamas we’ve also of course seen the BBC’s ongoing impartiality struggle um going on pretty much ever since the start of this and probably since before the Dreadful events of October the 7th we’re going to talk now uh to a columnist for The

Spectator Mary dfy who just written a piece about all of this good afternoon Mary good to see you good afternoon nice to see you too it’s strange isn’t it that we find ourselves talking so much about the BBC and how they cover uh various events around the world this

Particular situation between Hamas and Israel and and the Dreadful events of October the 7th seems to have sort of polarized it even more because they’ve had we’ve seen the BBC having to apologize for claiming that that strike on a hospital in Gaza was an Israeli air strike because it couldn’t have been

Anything else it turns out even rishy sunak has now said no that it absolutely wasn’t came from inside of Gaza itself uh we’ve seen these BBC Arabic presenters and journalists suspended because some of them actually were liking tweets which which in fact uh glorified the herass attack on October

The 7th and just the general tenant of the way the interviews are conducted we saw former Israeli Prime Minister having a go on Sunday at Victoria darbishire on the Laur cburg show I mean there’s a pattern here which can’t be denied isn’t there well I think it’s you know I have

A certain degree of loyalty to the BBC because I began my journalistic career there um with the world service but I do think there is a there’s a real problem because the BBC is not just domestic broadcaster it broadcasts all over the world um and I think um as I said in the

Article that you were referring to I think maybe there is um a bigger question about what it broadcasts in non-english languages um and this is where the BBC Arabic um which is what the investigation’s being conducted into now um comes in you know I don’t know

And I I I think it you know it should be left to the BBC to investigate what was actually said um and broadcast and what um sort of loyalties the um BBC Arabic um reporters and program makers were um were showing um but I think potentially

There is a problem there yeah I think so I mean we’re reading uh about how a BBC team which was later um identified as being from BBC Arabic was stopped and searched by police in Tel Aviv you know um these things are always very difficult I mean you’ve been in war

Zones I’ve been in war zones you have to be very very levelheaded when you’re in those places but you also have to understand you know what the dangers are one of the things that John Simpson said you know the veteran news reporter when he was defending uh the BBC’s um

Sort of steadfast refusal really to call Hamas a terrorist organization he was saying one of the reasons for that is that they have to safeguard um their own people who might be operating in areas where Hamas are well I get that but I mean everybody knows that that’s the

Case and considering that every other um sort of news organization in the world would describe Hamas as a terrorist group because of what they did on October the 7th alone that’s not really a defense is it well I have to say I have some sympathy for John Simpson view here I

Think that terrorist is I mean to me terrorist is actually a narrower word um than um all those people demanding that the BBC describe Hamas as a Terr terrorist organization I mean it seems to me that you know terrorists almost you have the view that it’s not that

Many people o operating in the name of a bigger cause but what happened with the um with the Hamas I would call them maybe Fighters um on the 7th of October um that seemed to me a much bigger operation than something that would be designated um terrorist but except if

You call them Fighters it sounds like they’re fighting in a war which has got a fight to fight going on which is not what they did what they did was they went and massacred innocent civilians they went and massacred people in their homes they did atrocious things to to th

Those people we’ve seen a video now from inside of Israel um un um glorified if you like and certainly you know unauthenticated in which a captured herass terrorist talks of being told desecrate the bodies you know do horrible things to them you know they weren’t Fighters I mean Fighters sounds

To me a bit more noble than what Hamas did no but I have you know I have some sympathy with the w with with the BBC withholding as it were the word terrorist from either side I mean I’m just not sure that that’s that that’s

The right word um but it also know there is a there’s such a gigantic problem in Wars um and that’s really what we’re looking at here um about taking sides and you can condemn atrocities on both sides um and you know I look at how the

War in Ukraine has been reported and yes you can say well right is on one side Ukraine was Ukraine was invaded and The Invader was Russia and therefore we are all on the same side but is that re is that a is that the best way to report

Things you know in the Cold War you know I I referred to this in the article too in the Cold War it was really quite easy because we were all on the same side um and there was as it were a there was a subtext there was a propaganda line that

We were on the right side and we were fighting um communism and it was the time of the Cold War I think we’re we’re in different we we’re in different conditions now um and if you have the BBC especially in a foreign language appearing to take one side or the other

I think I I think there is a problem for that because the BBC’s brand is impartiality yes but apparently the BBC’s brand of impartiality has been already quite badly tarnished because if you listened as I say to and I think fact I think we’ve got the clip let’s

Have a look at it uh nafal Bennett the former Israeli prime minister talking to Victoria darbishire he was very clear what he thought of the BBC let’s have a look and I understand that BBC has taken a side of uh uh on the gazin side because all your questions are only

About the gazin civilians you haven’t asked one question you have me to ask one question about those children from the very beginning of this interview you are asking me about them it seems like you care little about our set oh it is I I began by talking about the hostages

And what I’m asking you about now is no I’m not talking about the hostages I’m talking about the babies that were murdered and you keep on caring only about one side but that is the BBC way but let me let me tell you something we’re here protecting you you’re we don’t need your

Protection I mean pretty damning words there from a former prime minister I mean he’s not an insignificant figure and I think I take your point that you know the BBC should strive to be impartial but it would appear that around the world they’re not seen as impartial they’re seen as actually

Partial um in a different direction and very much so from the point of view of what’s come out of the BBC and the way that BBC Arabic has behaved it would appear that they would be on the side of the Palestinians not Hamas but of the Palestinians as opposed to the side of

Israel that’s how it comes across and I think that’s very damaging to the BBC no I agree absolutely um and I think that the BBC has to be very very careful of um its impartiality and I think it’s unfortunate that that in that particular interview that you’ve just shown um a

Section of um the the BBC I mean Victoria darish was very much thrown back on the defensive and that’s you know that’s not a good position for the BBC to be in either um but my you know my particular concern has been about um editorial control and direction of

What’s broadcast in the name of the BBC in foreign languages I think if they’re broadcasting in English then it’s you know it’s much easier around the world um maybe to to to to keep a bit of distance but also for the editors to know what’s going out in their name once

Start broadcasting foreign languages and you know the BBC has Arabic television I would say there’s maybe um particular problem with television as opposed to radio um but actually keeping tabs on what people are saying and doing doing with the BBC brand as it were all over

All over it I think that is that’s something that really has to be looked at more carefully yeah oh I think like many things in the BBC because it’s such a large uh and difficult organization to manage I think they can’t keep their eyes on everything and I’m sure the BBC

Executives in London were horrified when they saw that members of their teams in BBC Arabic were actually liking tweets which appeared to be welcoming the Hamas Invasion um of uh of Western Israel you know and Massacre that took place similarly I mean I’ve known as I’m sure

You have people that worked in the world service you know over the years I was associated with um media in this country which was aimed at the Asian population um and I knew quite a lot of the people that worked in the uh the uru service at

The world service at Bush house and it was very tribal you know and an awful lot of the people because the BBC sort of managers didn’t really have a clue they’d sort of give C blanch almost to certain individuals to go and do broadcasting in Oro to Pakistan uh or in

Hindi to some of the BBC outlets in India and incredible kind of you know Partnerships were forged unbeknown as far as I know to the BBC where only certain kind of representations were made in those broadcasts and I’m not accusing the BBC of negligence here but

You know I think they just didn’t have their eye on the ball they weren’t sure what was going on but you see it’s extraordinary difficult to get to to keep your eye on the ball all the time and I just wonder whether I mean the the BBC is in in quite a sort

Of um ambiguous position in a lot of ways because it claims to be you know at one remove because of the license fear claims to be at one remove at least um from the government um but when it broadcasts abroad it’s seen as an arm of

The government like it or not um and when you look at um other foreign broadcasters for instance France 24 or deut V or ger Germany um they broadcast in several foreign languages including in on television um they broadcast in Arabic um as well as um French or German their own language and in

English um and they are absolutely upfront about how they’re funded and the fact that um the funding comes from deut for for deut from the state and for France 24 at least part partly from the state um and the BBC keeps this it takes a rather Superior attitude to this and says we’re

We’re independent of the state I think in broadcasting abroad um even though the funding model has changed over the years um really maybe the the BBC should say um and be funded in a way that makes it clear that it actually is an arm of the state when it broadcasts

Right because you know there are um no doubt conversations that are had between top brass at the BBC and the foreign and Commonwealth office because that would go without saying the world service is one of the things I suppose that’s been the least changed in the last say five

Years given the way that conversations are going on about the BBC license fee whether it should be changed whether the model should change you know whereas the World Service still um very much seen as far as I know uh as a bit of an arm of the of the foreign Commonwealth office

No absolutely I mean this is despite the fact that um quite a lot of the funding for the world service was actually transferred to the license fee I think about about 10 years ago and in some ways I thought that was quite a good thing because it meant that um the BBC

Could actually deny that it was it was it was an arm of government but since then there have been sort of um discretionary grants and extra payments for extra services including for instance like broadcasting in Ukrainian obviously um after 2014 and the annexation of Crimea um

So the the the other thing is that the the the model I think which is not sometimes appreciated um the model for BBC World um the television uh service that is funded largely from advertising whereas the foreign language radio services are currently funded partly out

Of the license fee um and partly out of these discretionary grants from the foreign office um and that puts you know BBC World um the television service in English is therefore in in in a different situation um editorially from from the World Service radio or from the Home Services yeah but it’s possible

Isn’t it though Mary in the end to be able to make a judgment about an act so for example if you didn’t want to call Hamas terrorists you could still see what they had done was terrorist activity and in that situation you call them terrorists in the same way that you

Don’t have to be on the side of Ukraine to see that an invasion by Russia into Ukraine is is wrong and therefore you can argue the toss about you know the history of the whole project and the history of the two countries and all of that you know but you know an incursion

Into a into a foreign country um a foreign State a sovereign state um is clearly not the best way to proceed and so therefore you can still take the side of Ukraine initially and say that the Russians are the aggressors no absolutely I mean you you

You you have to say that in in in in the light of the fact um but what you know what I worry about is what you’ve alluded to too which is that you have different different versions being put out for different audiences in different languages um and I think that that

That’s really not a good idea and that it’s perfectly possible in this day and age with all the um facilities of digital the Internet satellite television um for some of those Individual Services actually to be spun off by the BBC not to be broadcasting in the name of the BBC but to be

Broadcasting um in the name of whatever side or whatever CA they representing um and if they want to represent you know if you if you have as it were a a group of U of people who want to broadcast in um in in say Arabic and particularly

In the name of the of the Palestinian cause well that’s absolutely fine but should that be funded by the BBC I sort of think it shouldn’t be absolutely Mary good to talk to you thanks very much indeed Mary djy there uh who’s written a piece of The Spectator about the problem

For the BBC and no doubt the problem is BBC made and BBC manufactured and BBC solvable it’s quite simple herass a terrorist it’s that easy that’s all you have to do you don’t have to write a memo you have to send an email you just

Have to know this is what they do and this is what they are it’s that simple coming up as the US prepares to airlift their citizens living in Israel is Joe Biden’s diplomacy up to scratch that’s coming up Next [Applause] Welcome back you’re watching the independent republic of Mike Graham earlier in the show we went to the Israeli Embassy in London where British Israeli citizens whose families are being held hostage by Hamas spoke to the media one of them told the Haring tale of how Hamas uploaded the kidnapping to

Her mom’s Facebook story we heard from IET spitzky I just I just want my family and all the families all the other um hostages back home um I know that a ground Invasion can cause a lot of casualties and I know that at some point

They will have to go in cuz the Kamas must we must put an end to the Kamas I don’t know exactly the right timing um again I’m not a politician um it is scary to think that we will go inside while our family is there it can escalate the situation

Um so I’m I’m afraid of it happening uh but I have to trust that if if that’s what they decide to do it will be in the best interest of our families and bringing them back a really searing Press Conference held there by family members of those

Who had been kidnapped we heard how one um woman’s mother uh has been taken hostage 75 years of age taken hostage is still in Hamas territory being held in the Gaza Strip absolutely unbelievable stuff uh her brother was killed another brother was say taken hostage as well I

Mean it’s just as incredible what’s been going on and what those families have had to put up with President Biden uh was quick to make the nearly 6,000 mile trip to Tel Aviv to show solidarity with Israel in the wake of the attacks and while he was there he did reiterate his

Support for Israel and his right to defend itself against terrorism he called for adherence to International humanitarian law but questions have been raised about his diplomacy in the Middle East overall he’s believed to be asking now for the qaris to actually intervene uh and to try and get rid of some of the

Hostages to try and get back I should say some of the hostages uh who are American citizens from Hamas from Gaza and get them back to Israel and eventually airlift them back to the United States of America uh someone who’s asked questions about Joe Biden’s involvement uh is Deputy o of spectator

Um Freddy gray hello Freddy how you doing hello M gr nice to see you very nice to see you too so I mean very difficult circumstances for all concerned I mean I don’t know whether you were able to watch that um terrible press conference that we just saw there

With some of the Israeli um family members here in London um British Jews have been taken hostage uh in Hamas territory in Gaza um it must be a dreadful situation we understand Joe Biden is trying to um uh extricate some American citizens um but it’s a very tricky situation isn’t

It it is a very tricky situation uh and I was speaking to some people with quite good inside knowledge of this from the American side and the Qatari side yesterday uh and they were saying the reason for the ground Invasion delay is this hostage situation and is the

Pressure um that America’s been putting on Israel uh to a large extent to get those hostages freed um because obviously the great leverage that Hamas has is these hostages and if the ground Invasion starts then their lives will be at risk and so sort of taking that as a

Snap shot of what’s going on I think it’s fair to say the Biden Administration has so far responded quite uh effectively and well to this crisis uh Biden went out there he is very old he doesn’t find it easy um he got through his speech okay he got

Through a day of meetings Okay um but you could see on the plane on the way back uh he was struggling um and he he does struggle with these trips he’s he’s he’s 0 he’s not quite up to it um I think on from the point of view of his

Administration the concern is that their Middle East policy has been muddled up to uh this point up to October 7th in the attack uh and I say that because um they are to a large extent the Obama Administration and the Obama administration had their very cherished Iran deal which is very controversial uh

I don’t really make strong judgments on it one way or the other but it was controversial and Republicans hated it Donald Trump hated it and when Donald Trump came in he tore up the Iran deal and then worked very closely with Israel to effectively alienate Iran and make a

Lot of progress of what’s called normalization I’m sure you’ve been talking about it on the show a lot between uh the Gulf States and particularly Saudi Arabia and Israel and when Biden came back in a lot of the Obama people came back in and they

Didn’t uh they wanted to go back to the sort of Obama era of friendlier relations not friendly necessarily but warmer relations with Iran um but they had to concede that the Saudi uh normalization was very very important and was working and so what they did sorry for this slightly long- winded

Explanation what they did was they tried to do both at the same time they tried to warm up Iran we saw that six billion uh in Iranian dollars frit deal a few weeks before the attack uh while carrying on with Saudi Israel normalization the worry for a lot of

Analysts now is that they’ve got this wrong both they’ve managed to both alienate uh Iran even further and uh it looks like Israeli Gulf normalization is or Israeli Saudi normalization is is certainly on paws at best yeah well Saudi have been pretty hawkish haven’t they um against Israel since October the

7th and since um that attack by Hamas and a lot of people have said to me they believe that one of the reasons why the attack was launched in the first place was in order to destabilize that normalization uh that you speak of with the UAE and with Saudi which seems to

Have worked pretty well so if that was their aim aside from the ghastliness and the horror and The Butchery that they took part in you know if that was their aim diplomatically they’ve succeeded hav’t they they have they have I mean in the short term they certainly have whether

Whether uh Israel and the Gulf States and Israel and Saudi that’s a particularly crucial one whether they will find uh a way to get back to uh normalization is the key point I think one big problem for the Biden Administration is its hypocrisy towards Saudi Arabia um I mean when Biden was a

Candidate uh he spent a lot of time denouncing um Muhammad bin Salman the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia uh because of the killing of Jamal kogi you remember that story yeah brutal story which the Saudis were almost certainly behind um I mean it’s pretty much accepted that they were now um and so

Biden uh sort of virtue signaled a lot against the salties and said they called him a pariah state and things like that um and then once he was in power and the realities of of of being president of the United States kicked in and you know a global energy

Crisis partly caused by the war in Ukraine he realized he couldn’t really alienate uh Muhammad Bill salon so they went back the US Administration went back to the relationship which they normally have with Saudi Arabia which is this very awkward dance of friendship where we sort of know or the Americans

Sort of know that they can’t stand anything that um the the the Saudi Kingdom stands for that it’s his a wahhabist state that it is repressive even if it’s liberalizing liberalizing under NBS a little bit but it’s it’s a brutal Place uh and so there’s a sort of uncomfortable friendship that’s

Reemerged under the Biden Administration Biden had to go out and SE him Anthony blinkin the secretary of state had to make sort of polite remarks they did a they did a kind of spectacular reverse feret on Saudi Arabia right um and now Saudi Arabia don’t seem to be that Keen

On the Biden Administration they stood up Anthony blinkin for a day which is not how us secretaries of states are used to being treated right um and then after they stood him up NBS lectured Lincoln about um Israeli aggression against Muslims uh and then Lincoln was similarly quite briskly treated by Al CC

The Egyptian president um and then the meeting between Biden when he came out and both MBS and LCC that was also cancelled yeah uh so it looks like the um Arab AR states are not that Keen on American diplomacy at the moment um and I think the Biden Administration has to

Take some blown to that yeah well it certainly looks as if they don’t respect Biden they certainly don’t respect the American administration because if they did they wouldn’t have stood them up and they wouldn’t have treated them like that so I think it’s a bad day uh is it

Not for for for American sort of global politics if you like because it shows that there’s been a shift uh in the power struggle if you like over in uh that part of the world the Saudis and the Iranians and the Israelis and everybody else involved is paying less

Attention it would seem I mean they can see speak nice words in Israel and say that they’re grateful for the support of the US uh and for the UK but it’s looking more and more like those are the only two countries that aren’t calling for some kind of

Ceasefire well yes I think uh I mean you can’t really blame Biden for this entirely This Is Us policy in the Middle East has been muddled incoherent disastrous from uh since the Iraq War and arguably before um Biden has not actually made it any better but I think we have to accept and

Anthony binol the secretary of state has said this on numerous occasions the postc Cold War era is over uh and the American period of uni poolarity was always a bit of a fantasy uh and it’s certainly over now and we are as uh Z and China and Putin in Russia they love

To keep pointing this out but it’s true to a large extent we are now in a multi-polar world where uh there are different superpowers competing for influence particularly in the Middle East and you can see this with China sending their Navy towards the gulf now um America is no longer the world’s

Policeman um but it’s in a sort of funny particularly under Biden it’s in a sort of funny model role where it’s slightly playing the world’s policeman but also accepting that it’s no longer the world’s policeman um and so therefore its threats have arguably slightly less weight even though of course the

American Military is still overwhelmingly powerful uh it can’t quite threaten I mean I’d say it threats against Iran a little bit less uh dangerous than they were um even under Trump because everybody thought Donald Trump was so insane uh that they didn’t know what he

Was going to do with Iran um and so I think that Iran may be obviously threats against Iran are for but you can see Iran already testing out um sending drones to us bases in the Middle East uh they’re test out America’s will willingness to respond um and I think the reason

They’re doing that is that they they feel that the Biden administration’s policies is a little bit of a mudle yeah and we’ve seen as well Iran making little incursions we into the Persian Gulf and you know stopping tankers and things like that and trying their luck

With Saudi I mean but does this mean that for the moment the Saudi kind of Feud with Iran isn’t quite as hot as it was it’s hard to tell I mean I with with the Arab world you always have to be you know there’s so much going on all the

Time and so many different sorts of truths within every uh government’s position uh I think it’s fair to say that Saudi Iranian relations are not are not cozy and they they won’t be for anytime soon uh what Hamas is hoping to achieve and what I think Iran is and to

A certain extent um other players are trying to achieve in the region is to achieve a kind of global Jihad and you can see this uh working domestically you can see it with the uh marches on British streets uh there is a sense uh among sort of Islam

Globally uh that they are called they are religiously called um to stand up for Palestine uh and this has in the past um being able to this this urgency this call to action has been able to bring together Sunni it’s the Gulf States uh and most of Islam and Shia

Muslims that has worked to a certain extent in the past but of course Israel’s approach has always been and this is what they did quite successfully with Donald Trump to pull the the Gulf States the Sunni states away from Shia Iran uh whether they are now suddenly

United again I think it’s probably a bit Hasty to say that but certainly the the the antipathy isn’t as good for Israel as it used to be no I think that’s right so I mean The $64,000 Question which is probably worth a lot more than that um is what does happen

Now because it seems as though a ceasefire is not going to be accepted by Israel and under current circumstances it doesn’t seem as though uh you can even see Hamas ever giving up on their wish to destroy Israel I mean I just don’t see an easy solution to any of

This well I think there a number of things could happen you the qataris uh are very they get a lot of uh Flack uh and perhaps rightly so in some ways but they are playing a very crucial role as a back Channel r as far as the hostages

Are concerned um if the hostages are returned uh Israel has shown no indication that it’s going to launch a ground Invasion but then what might happen there is that Hamas win the pr War so they they give back the hostages and then Israel go goes ahead and

Launches a a ground Invasion uh that could be very very uh uh violent uh it could will cost a lot of Israeli lives it will also cost a lot of Palestinian lives and you will this will add to this fuel of Rage that you’re you’re seeing

In a lot of the Arab world um and that in turn could trigger this is the crucial Dynamic hisbah and do hisbah start uh making serious attacks uh on Israel so far they seem to have been just testing out Israel to what extent Iran are encouraging to do that to what

Extent Iran are actually holding them back or push or will push them further forward these are all questions of debate in intelligence circles but it’s hisbah and whether the uh Iran back asbah um really attack Israel then we may find ourselves with configration and a greater war and this is a very very

Serious security risk for the whole world yeah absolutely Freddy thanks for talking to us good to speak to you Freddy gray there from The Spectator uh on what still appears to be a very intractable situation uh in the Middle East and also terrible terrible po problems for members of families of

People who have been taken hostage by Hamas and who are still being held in Gaza children elderly people it’s just Dreadful uh we’ve got much more to do uh Julie Harley BR coming up of course at 1:00 coming up next though uh Britney Spears is telling the toxic truth in her

Cleansed of some of the wokery that goes on now if you thought uh that you were safe from the uh idealistic Bankers of this country I’m afraid you were wrong because you remember when Nigel farage discovered that he had been uh basically debanked a word that we didn’t even know

About until relatively recently by cot’s Bank you know the most inclusive Bank in the world uh as long as you’ve got lots and lots of money um and you probably went to private school you can’t really get an account of Coots but if you’re Nigel farage um he pretty much stripped

Be not only cots but also Nat West the owners of CPS and said that they had acted completely and utterly ridiculously outside the law uh they lost their chairwoman they lost their CEO uh they lost a couple of other people along the way but he’s found out

Some even more terrible truths about the people that work at NatWest and how woke they are because apparently they gloated while this was all going on that they had driven Nigel farage out of the country they called him dodgy they called him sketchy they said that he was

Probably An Enemy of the State practically they more or less said that they wished that they had been the person that could have called up Nigel farage to tell him that he was no longer a customer and shows you just how deep the wokery has got because who would

Have thought that people working for a private bank usually used by members of the royal family and assorted peers and Lords and Ladies of the realm would suddenly become the word of the people you know the proletariat but I’m sorry to say uh that cots Bank is still deep

In the dooo uh and this is not going to help them at all these are all internal messages which [ __ ] verage has fallen upon U which are written down in black and white so I fear there will be more cuts at the bank of the people which is

Called CS of course uh so I look forward to the day when all these wokeist can be chased out of the country themselves until they’ve learned to grow up a bit and actually agree with people and do business with people that they might have a different political opinion of

That’s it that’s the world of work for today the world of work now moving swiftly on I think somebody you wouldn’t describe as particularly woke is Britney Spears now her highly anticipated Memoir the woman in me is out today and let’s just say it’s got fans screaming give me more uh

In the Memoir the Pop Princess opens up on her conservatorship the free Britney movement and cheating claims during her three-year relationship with Justin Timberlake who doesn’t come out of it terribly well uh to discuss the hype surrounding this bombshell memo I’m joined by Hannah hope brazar editor at

The sun on Sunday Hannah welcome to the independent republic thank you very much for joining us you’ve read uh the new Britney Spears book it sounds like it’s got some pretty um astonishing revelations in it it really is a shocking read uh cover to cover page to page you are getting shocking revelation

After another even if you’re not a Britney Spears fan having one of the biggest pop stars open up about their 14-year conservatorship where every decision is made for them is just something that Beggars believe I don’t know if you’re a fan of Britney are you

Mike well I liked a lot of her earlier songs I can’t say that I stuck with everything that she did but I think she’s always been a fascinating figure and I think she’s always been an incredibly kind of um look at me she’s proper star is what I would say I mean

She’s a proper kind of you know Mega star who has done some incredible things who has obviously had some difficult times but it’s kind of fascinating I think it’s really heartbreaking some of the revelations that come out apart from all the celebrity asides she talks about

How she’s dosed up on lithium inside a mental institute she’s given a diet of chicken broth and vegetables to eat so all these minor decisions are being made for her totally taken out of her hands she becomes addicted to ad Ro she considers taking her own life all of her

Family make the decisions for her and she’s being completely controlled by her father who declared her mental uh in a court of law in America and basically said to her she actually says in the book he said to her I Am Britney Spears now so he really did take over her life

Yeah right and of course there are some people now who say the way that we see how she has behaved over the years quite erratically at times particularly recently when she did that dance with the knives that we’ve all seen on on social media some people said to me well

Maybe she did need protection maybe she did need somebody to look after her because she wasn’t perhaps in uh in complete control of everything and maybe she was someone who needed to be looked after but it sounds a bit more than that doesn’t it you raise a good point

Potentially she did need someone to take care of her she was uh mentally vulnerable but should that have really been her father who was making money out of her who put her on stage for years on end in Las Vegas had her on the exactor America which is one of the biggest

Shows performing like a monkey essentially well heavily dosed on uh medication and not able to make decisions for herself um some other Revelations that come out is how she had to have an abortion when she was 19 after getting pregnant with Justin Timberlake she came from an incredibly

Uh Conservative Christian family in the deep south of America and she didn’t want to have an abortion but it was really kind of put upon her and she talks about the pain of going through that and she also talks about her indiscretions and cheating and her love

Life as well but it it is it does have a happy ending in that she comes out of the conservative ship and she gets married even though that marriage is is now crumbled but you know she’s now able to make decisions for herself and she is still getting help she still does have

Her lawyer around her she has a team of doctors and Medics if she feels that she needs to talk to someone and one of the revelations I saw this morning was that um when they broke up Justin simol sent her a message uh by text which consisted

Of two words I was talking to Kevin oan about it earlier uh he suggested the second word might have been off um I don’t know if that’s true or whether she is any more deliberate about that but that’s pretty horrible isn’t it it’s never good to break up a relationship

Via someone over text I’m a bit old fashioned I feel that you should always meet in person if not do it over the phone but you’re right Justin has not come out of this favorably and also one of his bestselling solo hits crimeia River depicted Britney in the video and

He’s actually admitted on stage I shouldn’t be singing this anymore because he makes light of his relationship with her when clearly she was going through a very difficult time so even now he’s realizing that in this woke world it’s not a good time to be performing that song no quite another

Interesting um aspect of it was the she talked about her appearance on Jonathan Ross’s show uh where the conservatorship was possibly going to come up and she was warned off about not talking about it which presumably was a legal restriction they put on her I mean usually with those shows they like to

Keep it light but they do like a news line so I would imagine that legally they wouldn’t have wanted to go near it and that’s why it would have ended up on The Cutting Room floor uh and certainly Jonathan Russ I mean he’s entertaining but he’s not exactly kind of you know

Known for his like Cutting Edge news so I would have imagined he wanted to steer clear of topics like that but it’s right she would she did want to speak out about it she wanted to have her say but she really was muzzled which is why this

Book is actually really important to be reading now and in the time of sort of Taylor Swift which is I guess what we’re in is Britney Spears still a superstar is she still a big enough name and will people buy this book or will it just be

People who are kind of of a certain age you go yeah I remember she was great I think it’s relevant to fans of Pop now and also the fans who followed her when she was younger I think that what she’s been through like I said a conservative

Ship where she’s muzzled I mean it’s a fascinating read just from a kind of human aspect and a newsworthy aspect but she’s still relevant her songs still do well when she does release them they go straight to the top and I don’t think we’ve heard the last of her yet and her

Father now is out the picture is he yes he’s out the picture and I think he owes quite a lot of money dear well that from the money he made from Britney of course of of course Hannah great to talk to you thank you very much indeed Hannah hope

There from the Sun On Sunday on the latest uh sort of celebrity bookfest which is of course the story of Britney Spears her in her own words we’ve got uh a little time left on the show to talk to some of you because lots of you have

Been getting in touch and what we’d love to do uh is hear what you have to say about all the things we’ve been talking about so don’t forget the number of course 0344 499 1,000 let’s hear first of all from Christine uh in North Asia who’s worried about some of these Pro

Palestine Ries Christine very good afternoon to you good afternoon thanks for call I really have had an enough watching about these protesters in London and their faces all covered with those raggy scars yeah and hiding their faces when we show our faces I don’t want them here I want them out yeah and

Every one of the protesters if they only just come into the country should Ned and kicked out yeah it’s a strange thing to have to watch isn’t it week in week out it’s ugly it’s so ugly and I feel sorry for the London people shocking and

Also um when the Hamas did what they did H to the juice settlement was really terrible and there was a BBC report Jeremy somebody and a soldier told them that that woman lying on the ground in one of the sleeping bag things you could see the B your feet was beheaded yeah

And he turns to the camera and he says I’ve been told by him he says that that woman’s been beheaded but I haven’t looked I’m only telling you what he’s telling me and I thought I thought you were a war reporter yeah he should have went and check that we need eyewitnesses

Yeah they didn’t do it absolutely furious at that yes and other I think there’s been there’s been a lot of mistakes made in the coverage I think there’s been a lot of mistakes as well by the BBC particularly by the BBC no I totally agree with you listen we got to

Move on thank you very much indeed Matthew’s in chesher uh Matthew what do you want to say yeah good afternoon Mike uh the the BBC’s been so biased to their own luxury beliefs for so long and got away with it it’s like an addiction to them even now when under massive worldwide scrutiny

They’re incapable of changing the ways yeah and it’s basically news for themselves for their own little Circle and the rest of us are irrelevant uh there needs to be a a massive Purge an inje and an injection of regional input yeah and a removal of the London Centric race and climate

Obsessives yeah yeah I think you’re right I think the problem is they don’t even know that they’re biased they don’t think they are they think they’re being evenhanded when clearly they’re not I mean when a former Israeli Prime Minister says that the BBC has taken a

Side um you know and he’s a man that is to be believed you just go well that’s this is now where the BBC reputation is in TAS yeah I think the the American public sort of catching on as well now there was a report on last week when Rishi

Sunak was in Israel I don’t really think anybody noticed it one of the reporters said uh sunak has minimal input in what was happening yet when he met Netanyahu Netanyahu was beaming to see him he him yeah when he met Joe Biden he looked like he wanted to punch him in the face

You know he had a completely different attitude to meeting soon now than Biden and yet the BBC just dismissed Britain’s influence as minimal oh they hate Britain I mean they don’t like to Big up Britain at all any chance they get they’re going to trash it which is absolutely terrifying and terrible as

Well at the same time thanks very much indeed let’s talk to Ross who’s in York wants to talk about the migrant situation hi Ross hi hi Ross hello yeah hi what you want to say no just a quick one how come um we see all the immigrants coming in probally every day

On the boats um and then we told the situation is being reduced I heard it today that the um albanians um made the amount drop but we we never see anybody leaving the country yeah where where is previously we did the agreement with um Rwanda and the cam was on the

Plane 24 hours and nothing left anywhere so making a difference but we never see anybody leave the country so I think they have been deporting some people to Albania for sure but yeah I mean you’re right we don’t ever really see very much at all of anybody actually physically

Leaving the country maybe we should see that and maybe people would then actually get a better idea Ross thanks very much indeed um that’s all we got time I’m afraid so apologies if we didn’t reach you uh I’m sorry if we didn’t get to you but don’t worry

There’s loads and loads of chances for you to get back in touch with us tomorrow uh the number of course 0344 499 1000 is the number you can text us you can tweet us keep in touch with the independent republic of Mike Graham because this is the one place where we

Do care what you think we do read your notes we do read your messages and we do augment them and we do tell the powers that be precisely why they should be listening to us and listening to you you’ve been watching the independent republic of Mike Graham we’ll see you

  1. WHY are the Palestinian people blaming Israel when they well know THEY voted in a terrorist Hamas Government who are now oppressing them. It doesn't make sense. They blamed Israel over their hospital being blown up to ignite a Middle Eastern global JIHAD!
