This is the on cyclocross calm this is the Belgian waffle right I was watching the vegan cyclist video about how this is a pretty pretty epic go check out pigment cyclist videos this is the Belgian waffle riders that write in LA and it looks mad mad fun it’s a female
And male it’s a pretty long one hundred miles of gravel and it was won by Peter Cetina pro rider for trek and second or third was Ted King um the bikes they wrote the bikes they rode it was won on this bike the Medina’s have a listen
Here to see what the audio will play okay here we have Cetina pizza thing that already didn’t work so I’m gonna do a voiceover this is this is a biker using he’s very skinny like a vegan he looks like a high carb banana rice vegan through a yellow top we we like that
Color and I just have a look at the bike that he uses to win a gravel race and it’s looking a pretty hardcore gravel race here so he used a trek Madone Amadou not even a domani not a Crockett not a boon he’s the mad owned the sprinters blackest coated a couple
System there so a bit more compliance there he’s got a seat post sticking ray out this piece of swaying back SRAM axis groups it looks like a 50 37 he looks like 28 meal on the back and so using a road bike so gravel bikes at good features cruising around if you want
Pure pure speed peter Sistina recommends that sprinters bike with 20 mm tires tubeless on a super lightweight carbon discs rim and a big drink bottles there the disc brakes definitely would help in the gravel just for the extra confidence you know on the got wet and muddy now
Their standard cockpit easy done I guess that’s Peter subpoenas set up pretty interesting a roadblock and Madone disc which one out no tires they look a little bit thicker thousand twenty eight meals Ted King ran a super 6 with the power 35 mil ties who was who was second
Let’s see if we can find out what bike he wrote Edward Anderson let’s find out wait a sec okay so here we had the Belgian waffle ride mm-hmm and we have we have similar stickers on there talks about the feed zone 133 miles this is on the Belgian villa
News.com so it’s one hundred thirty three mile race it is hardcore it is a race it is a real-deal race so you got people you know I think it’s the organizer days didn’t put it over eight years I don’t know that’s race until till today so you got some crew they
Even we got cookie man they’re cookie man was pack filler and this race so he mustn’t be on the magic cookies anymore he’s uh he’s definitely got skills but he was pack fill in this race so I would say phil was definitely natty in this
Race it was I didn’t go hard as like I did but he got drop he got toasted and I saw it say he’s back to his natural levels again and so you have the hitters here Ted King taking Ben King and Peter Cetina the pros the hitters in this race
So yeah they certainly looks very skinny and very a bit of a factor there doesn’t he has got the skill there so it’s the Belgian waffle race with the Belgium Belgium Stalin California California’s I love the Belgium belches and so look like a big star since he’s very
Aggressive racing there you can clip it was posture you can see the heads are down it’s you know like it’s definitely on it’s definitely on and new clues bottleneck another bottleneck so this is what you do if you’re in a bottleneck like this you just stay relaxed look for
The line cruise around a lot of people get intense there because I’m they’re breathing like come on just get through and just getting all like hussy and fussy hey it’s a hundred and thirty three miles it’s still long way to go so again if you really want to be up the
Front you’d be on the front otherwise just relax settle in and enjoy the ride so you can see here cookie man’s nowhere to be seen you can see Peter sits sadena so these are all the hitters the selection was made pretty early on we have some Table two molars at the hills
And so you can see gravel bike nails and a Santa Cruz sort of gravel sort of bike but again you know we saw you know the heat is a lot of heaters in this race you know there’s a lot of hitters in this race so it was very very interesting
The the time difference is there and then this is a select group here this is the this is the fit guys and just like Kings waving people through door turn to a turn and so you can see that there’s a hit is there so if you’re not in the
Front group then you are out the back pretty quick so two four six eight nine guys in the front group they’re the hitters and you can see and all sort of stand together there on the group days besides it may be 11 12 riders and we
Got the back so sitting on the front on his road bike really setting the pace making it one of her and looks like the other guy was at Anderson who got second he’s also on a road bike so rode by two discs 20mm tires is what they used disc
Brakes would definitely give you a better stopping on a situational his son because he knew it you know in a road race you don’t need to wash off much speed but you know grammar ACB bombing a descent and you would need to wash off a lot of speed so disc brakes can Steve
Deliver extra you know but again it would be interesting if Pete’s at Tina’s totally had any freedom to ride any bike he wanted which he did and he chose his road bike would he choose a rim brake or a disc brake version that would be very interesting I would I would probably go
Disc on the ground wall for sure because what if it starts raining and if it rains you know it’s game over there’s a chem trails and background there and the women’s riders women’s so women’s first right I was in seven hours 23 and seven hours 23 I think who
Commanded like a 722 so you almost got checked for that’s how much the Fitness varies when you’re natty versus not natty and do something a hike a bike so mountain bike shoes would have been to go here looks like can’t see Cetina so team looks like he’s already gone
Through at this point this is on a Niner looks like an R do cyclocross bike so cyclocross gravel same thing really same thing really maybe actually grab a boy I could probably pill and be guitars can you be guitars ago was it what do you think big guitars uncover bite and
Generally a bit more drink bottle mounts for that if I’m getting any of these facts wrong please correct me in the comments section down below we have a female roadie on a road bike top-25 melt ice so very very interesting bike specifics here now were they choosing certain things because they couldn’t
Afford a specific bike or what if I did this ride personally I’d probably go a you know do the course first to find out what I’m dealing with what’s be the best spec and then I’ll never go you know a road bike with 30ml tires disc brakes or I’d crack out my hardtail
Mountainbike say it depends in my technical skills the best so I think having a mountain bike would definitely be an advantage for me to lose little time climbing wise and you just draft because look like the smooth roads me drafting what’s going on there so you know this interesting stuff
But this brakes were very popular but again is that by choice is that by sponsorship pressure we know if your specialized rider or trick rider yeah he only had one option and that’s disc brakes so but it was interesting to see the winner of the race choose a mad
Dog I wouldn’t have I wouldn’t think that I wouldn’t pick that again I don’t know its course but it looks pretty smooth it looks pretty smooth how many women do we have about 80 women so wasn’t a massive big Palace on is a hundred and eighty finishes and the guys
And 80 women so I thought it would’ve been more people in the I think they had another small ride called the wafer maybe people did that because 133 miles you’re not gonna happen many people can do I’m 233 miles long who would do that so it’s very select so a niche race and
All that you know it is definitely he’s a [ __ ] race people gone full gas long as attorneys number up so I do and number 31a yeah interesting so he wrote got mountain bike shoes they I can see mountain bike shoes and sit up on that gravel climb
So again cook him in know every scene drop pretty early not enough magic cookies we have it’s always good it’s hang hang on the car taking on the motorway no he’s not he’s grabbing some food so it looks like the was very well-supported rice he looks
Very skinny very skinny and yes a 20 mm tire again on the gravel there it’s almost like strata Bianchi so your road bike robot for the go and yeah this is all hitters at the front so that who’s who of gravel racing in the USA right now so yeah interesting stuff they’re
Talking on the last climb there and here we go it looks like Stu Tina say pronoun sister Tina you can so see these guys very very skinny and riding disparate road bikes Internet little tires so what does that mean for the gravel block industry who knows by you attack
Apparently attacked at the base of the climb so riding very strong skinny big power hands up um no muscles in the legs skinny legs getting it done so I dusty dusty ride and so seven hours 23 for the women’s and about 6 hours 22 for the elite men so pretty amazing they’re
Getting your bike fix dust and dirt this would have been a fun race this is San Diego crashes here stuff all that so yes is a woman’s second place I don’t know I’ll go no bike which they’re quite quite rightly associated be the spill that leader there that right leave a bit
Dusty the results so it crashes bit of fun just cause think your mouth stuck open but a little good you have a baby qubit blood cells afterwards so yeah it’s a very interesting event watching you know watching the the gravel bikes get dominate by road bike and 11 our
Cutoff line 13 our cutoff line that’s pretty cool so is there for the for the pros and also for the the bicycle lovers who wants gonna refer a ride the Belgian waffle race what a fantastic event looks like as well supported only heard good things about it
Definitely son I would did you do the Belgian waffle ride how’d you think or botted you ride comes criticisms hit me up down below thanks for watching

Hahaha another great video durian I like your coat
You ride a road bike on anything. Fuck all the industry fashion bikes.
Yeah, Trek !
I got sprinters from Africa and put them in this race and they finished 12th 15th and 22nd I think they’ll do better if I give them bicycles
I was there at BWR 2019. Most faster guys choose to go with 28mm-32mm road for faster time because over 90 miles was on a paved road but for a weekend warriors like my self who mostly ride road bike and only racing Crit 90% of the time. I had to go with Rondo ruut CF gravelbike 700c 33mm cyclocross tubeless tires disc brake. Just to stay up right when it comes to gravel sections. By far the hardest ride of my life. I’m originally from Thailand but grew up in LA. I have done Doi inthanon and many other hard rides in Thailand. Still BWR is the hardest hands down. As far as how the event goes. The organizers did a fantastic job in all aspects. I was well fed can’t ask for any better event. You should do this ride at least once Durian rider. I’m positive you would love it. Love your contents over the years.
Just did this ride! It was my first bike race ever haha had a great time
90 miles of it is road, so you can’t win on the gravel but you can definitely lose it there
You wouldn't have a sneaky vegan Belguim beer after a ride like this? 😁
Peter stetina is with Levi leipheimer. Definitely on the gas
Steh-tin-ah
In Eorope we turn number 13 upside down 😃
There are definitely some nice hybrid tires now days.
If you draw #13, you put it upside down. It’s in the rules
It's actually in San Marco's California, which is in the out skirts of San Diego, not L.A.
id ride my merida silex with conti gp 5000 32c tires.
Trek riders do have the option (according to Trek)
First time I ever hear you mentioning chemtrails, always wondered your thoughts on that
OG L'eroica is 210k with about 120k of pure gravel and by no means flat. Pros and ex-pros go hard there and you can feel it when they go past you at the beginning. Doing so on steel bikes from the 70's and 80's with downtube shifters, 25mm – 28mm tires and brakes that don't brake. You can do gravel on almost any bike you want, the edge on an old steel bike is that you can go at it with reckless abandon.
Vegan cyclist at 40th place Tyler Pearce
Vegan cyclist, YUHH
130 miles (90 roads + 40 dirty(gravel, rivers, rocks, sand, etc …) and 11,000ft elevation gain
btw … I rode in a Fuji Transonic 53/34 11/28, 28mm tires and I double taped my handlebar.
Cookie man. Olympics. GO
Tyler Pearce, 'The Vegan Cyclist' finished 40th on his Road Bike. He crashed once which lost him probably 20 places.
stet-Na
Every year BWR is Won on a road bike
I got to do the Belgian Water Ride 2019. I rode a Parlee Chebacco with Panaracer Travelking sk in 32.
Stetina raced cyclocross when he was a junior so those dirt roads and such aren't a big deal to him. That was probably Gaimon and part of VeganCyclists problem. Roadies
Wait disk ?
I ride my road bike everywhere it’s my only bike at the moment 🚲💨💨💨
Ha ha. Cookie man “almost got chicked.” Love it.
Cyclocross max tire with is 35mil and almost always race geometry bike. Gravel bikes can have 45mil to sometimes 2 inch mountain bike tires and usually endurance geometry. Some gravel races get up to 200 miles.
Who is cookie man
