Warsaw recently celebrated the grand opening of its latest architectural marvel β a sprawling pedestrian and bicycle bridge spanning the majestic Vistula River. This monumental structure, linking Karowa Street in PowiΕle with Okrzei Street in Praga, marks a significant milestone in the city’s infrastructure development.
Crafted with a design lifespan spanning a century, the 502-meter-long steel marvel has drawn parallels to London’s renowned Millennium Bridge. Prior to its public debut, the bridge underwent rigorous load testing, showcasing its robustness by effortlessly supporting 22 water tanks brimming with a combined 21,000 liters. This demonstration underscored its capacity to comfortably accommodate emergency vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons, ensuring both safety and accessibility for all.
