A huge one kers is down there’s several rers from need Tre in the mixer that’s that’s a big oh it looks like van art is down as well on the bottom of your screen yeah well we didn’t see that up front I’m hoping that they’re okay uh

But there’s a few as well from Leal Trek let’s have a look so this must have been uh up towards the front that is a huge tear and that is a man just try struggling to get his breath he’s gone down hard that’s going to knock the

Stuffing out of him that’s little treack how many one two three oh no that is terrible for w vanat and look how long he’s actually gone along the paving you can see that tarmac scar upon him and there’s a few others here yes Sten is on the deck and he’s down there

In tears no surprise at all that’s Mass Pon just taking his helmet off right now beening gay is also on the deck here this is absolute nightmarish VM has also been called out this has been a huge sthe of the favorites that have been cut down I’m afraid Harry Sweeny up just uh

Uh just wiping some sweat from his eyes but that looks terrible for w vanard let’s have a look at it it’s front group it’s front group let’s have a look where did the where did the moment come from bit of a fold over at the front it’s

Reflected all the way through and down they go like Skittles Matt is terrible they would yeah I mean we couldn’t see exactly what happened it looked there was nothing from the left or the right happened in the center it look like a gust of wind you know what it was it

Looked like might have been a gust of wind a touch of Wheels they’re moving at 50 60 K an hour you can just see Tim van djk there just touching the top of his hat he knows when you’re on the bike and you hear that sound behind it’s awful it

Goes through you like a dose of salts hits you in the in in the stomach it’s a horrible sound flesh and carbon hit in the deck like that it’s a nasty nasty sound it’s just wish from everybody here myself and carton included everybody on the deck we wish them all the very best

But unfortunately from time to time that is the sheer brutality of bike racing it doesn’t take any prisoners oh R out will not be taking any further part in this race that’s quite clear uh they’re nursing him at the moment and that’s precisely what you need so battle plans

Reimagined then for visma Lisa bike uh Jorgenson and tbut um they will be their cards to play M Patterson was on the deck you saw that as well likewise baming gai I’m afraid will not be uh even if they get back on their bikes they’re not going to be in any fit state

To take any further part this is yeser stoven uh as well just being attended to this is precisely what nobody wants to see I’m afraid and we’re seeing far too much of it that’s gatsi who’s uh to the side gay looks in all kinds of trouble

And a lot of work for the medical services to deal with possibly the most impactful crash we’ve seen all season and not something we want no we we’ve seen big crashes but uh we yeah that was one of the biggest crashes we’ve seen SE of significance where Riders clearly are

Hurt and it’s never what you want to see

    1. It's a pity that Van Aert is so terribly out of the classic season… It would be an interesting duel between Van Aert and Van der Poel, it's a pity that it won't happen… I hope he recovers quickly and goes to his Giro d'Italia debut! 🤞🏼❤️

    2. WVA season is over basically, maybe he can turn up to the TDF in good shape but its tough to miss weeks of training in the pro peloton.. Must be so so emotionally upsetting. You bust yourself in winter training, thousands of miles of training. Then you know you have lost a season in the prime of your career. Sports injuries are really cruel like that.

    3. Too many crashes now in the big races is ruining a wonderful sport as well as careers. Caleb Ewan has never been the same since his TDF crash. Maybe it's just too aggressive now and winning overides safety (which is understandable) for riders. Plus the only protection they have is a helmet but no body armour so a bad crash is the end of your season. It's crazy but I don't see any solution which is a shame for avid spectators like me.

    4. Intanto lo show continua, avanti i prossimi!

    5. Everybody talks about physical damage, which is logical, bet let's not forget mental damage. Will these guys ever dare to take the risks again needed to excel?

    6. Wout must be the unluckiest cyclist ever. That's so bad… He could've already won the Paris Roubaix but he had a puncture, now he prepared the best he could to be in top shape for RvV and PR and he crashes twice in one week, the first not so bad but this one is in the category of "potentially career-ending"… Get well soon Wout, I hope this was the worst fall in the peloton of 2024 season.

    7. I love riding my bike. I love watching cycling races. But every time I start thinking "What if I had been talented enough to ride professionally?", I see a crash like this and am reminded that I'm better off in the path my life took me.
