What a beauty what a beauty, the  breaks. Decisions-decisions, down Hello and welcome back to Mike’s Bikes.  Silence, serenity, I am back at my home   island, I am in the island of Paros, it’s one of  the most beautiful islands of the Aegean sea,

And it is mine. A very small part of it, this is  my home island, this is where my mother was born,   this is where i spent all my summers since I was  a little boy up to now. Well, now it’s not summer,

It’s Easter holidays, it’s the spring  break, that you get probably in the   the US, we do it around easter and we celebrate  Easter. The days here are amazing, everything is   green, it’s like a green carpet and  Paros being famous for its beaches,

That’s why it’s called Paros, from “paralia”  which is a greek word for beach, with “ea”   and apart from that, it’s not famous  but it’s great also, on the mountains.  The island has a very very large mountain ridge  in the middle of it, and around it’s flat and it

Has beaches, and everybody who comes on holidays  stays on the lower part, they rarely come up to the   higher ground. There is a road that  goes through the villages,   on the mountains, and people drive through them and  they visit the villages, but apart from that, this

Place is is full of slopes, it’s full of trails,  it’s it’s it’s perfect so I’m a man on a mission   today, what I’m gonna do, I’m gonna show you two  new trails that i found out, i stole from

Somebody who’s riding them here, but i’m filming  them also, so let’s go to the trails and probably, probably later, I might do also the byzantine road,  that i do frequently, and let’s see how that goes, cheers! Almost on the top of Paros! I’m starting  to rethink the opinion that i had for e-bikes.

It lets you climb like a, like a bird, you fly! And here we are on the south side,  this is where the trails are, let’s go! well upper lagada trail. Okay let’s go easy, it’s very technical it’s full of vegetation oh that’s a blue trail

Trying to be a black one. Very  technical very challenging, very nice shaped by the water Well, i am pretty amazed with the bike, this is not an entry level but but it’s amazing what a couple of proper  mountain bike tires, and this is another trail,

This is the lower lagada trail, it’s far more  easier and it’s amazing! You can I say   what a couple of proper tires, and proper  setup suspension can work wonders, that’s a very nice trail. And decisions, decisions, down downhill.

My Garmin is playing tricks for me. It thinks  that I fell. No my friend, have not fallen   i’m enjoying myself I hope it doesn’t call my wife. That’s amazing, that is amazing, far  more easier than the previous trail I don’t know if you can see the view,

But this thing is amazing, amazing! This  is an old road for sure it’s from the   Byzantine era, which makes it more than  a thousand years old, and you see even older… I know that people hike with trails, I know  a couple of crazy local guys, that bike them. This deserves better!

This deserves to be known around the mountain bike community, and possibly the enduro, community, because this is what it is for! Guys get your brakes right before visiting Good job What a beauty! I’m going back 1000 years, and i can see  donkeys walking around this this rocky road,

Amazing! I’m not in the Alps,  I’m not on Mount Olympus,   I’m in a cyclades island, where it is supposed  to be barren, where it’s supposed to be dry and I’m having a blast! The trail I took,   that’s a very old trail, that’s a man-made  trail, that’s a trail laid with rocks,

Blue, at some point, yes this is a blue ,the  previous one, it could be a single diamond. I really enjoyed this, and I’m a man on a mission, what’s my mission? I come from this island, I love this island, and it’s full of these  twisty windy old trails, and nobody uses them,

And people can run them, people can walk them,  where is a very good walking community here,   in Paros but it specializes only in hiking,  so I picked up some tips from them also,   and enduro and trail. It has many  many back roads that you can do

Cross country, but you can also do enduro  and trail in Paros, and someday someday i have a dream to set up a race here. Let’s go! This is a small double track that i went upwards I think it deserves to be a little trail,   in Trailforks, let’s call it “shorty”.

It’s muddy, it’s rocky, yes it’s wide, but i think it deserves to  be a trail in Trailforks. Yes cement made humanity, almost. It was a turning  point in evolution, the discovery of cement   but i like DIRT! Awesome! Awesome! What a great way to end the ride.

And what an awesome ride, i’m speechless and  that’s a phenomena which is very rare. I tend to   talk a lot, a lot! So that was the end of the ride,  that’s almost the end of my holidays, for Easter.

Tomorrow i’m going back home, i’m gonna go back to  my usual trails, but now I’m a man on a mission. I’m   a man on a mission, about what i’m gonna do. I have  started mapping all the trails, and at some point

The island has the potential to host an  enduro race. Yes there are other islands in   the Aegean Sea that are doing that, why not here? it has awesome trails, it has historical trails.  It is amazing and you can combine it with  holidays, because the island is beautiful! It has

Some of the most beautiful beaches around  the Cyclades islands. So with that, you know,   what to do! Ride safe, Ride hard, and Ride for  fun! And come to Paros, and ride Paros! Cheers!

    1. Absolutely brilliant Mike, simply stunning video, well done. Excellent of you to start mapping the trails here on Paros as they are are really difficult to find. I have been on a lot of hikes with Περπατητές Πάρου which has been a great way of discovering new trails but I rarely map my rides as I don't have a Garmin so kudos to you. Next time I'll make sure I have time to meet up.

    3. Mike, I am moved, just by the story you tell at the beginning and the footage I am overwhelmed. I like it when it's a few minutes about more than just the trail, thanks for that. A great video, these trails are a dream, accompanied by a breathtaking view with the sea in the background. What more could you ask for to get away from it all and have fun. Thank you for taking me on this journey. If there is a race one day, let me know. Keep up the good work and have a good time buddy. Ride on🤙

    4. While I am not crazy about riding on rocks, these videos make it look fun and challenging. Mike, do you run a bike shop there in Paros? Are bikes like yours available to rent?
