    FACTS ABOUT COVENTRY TOWN Coventry is a city in central England.   Coventry became an important and wealthy city  of national importance during the middle Ages.  The city was the birthplace of jet pioneer  Sir Frank Whittle, the poet Philip Larkin   and the pop impresario Pete Waterman. All modern bicycles are descended from  

    JK Starley’s Rover safety cycle, invented  in Coventry in 1885. A decade later the city   became the birthplace of the British motor  industry, producing the first cars under   license from Gottlieb Daimler in Germany. Coventry has a rich motoring heritage,  

    Which can be traced back to 1896 when Henry Lawson  founded the Daimler Motor Company and from this,   a factory called The Motor Mills  which gave us the first British car.  Coventry University offers outstanding  quality of teaching, world-class education,   international faculty and staff, state-of-the-art  facilities and amazing student culture.
