PART 2 of our 3 month trip around Europe. We left family and started our solo voyage. This episode takes us along the West coast of France stopping going through the major cities of La Rochelle and Biarritz and onto the border with Spain.

This was the first time that we had done a road trip this far south-west in France, so it was all new and exciting. We did not anticipate how straight and flat the roads would be, but still a beautiful part of the world!

The next episode we are in Northern Spain and the scenery (at least from a twisties point of view!) becomes more epic and there were fewer people making it more our style!

    Hope you enjoy!

Please do like and subscribe if you enjoy the video, it helps so much!

    Ride safe out there 👊

Welcome back to the brog puffins channel so we have just left Normandy say goodbye to the family and we are officially solo now and are heading down south from Normandy towards lelle and then onto beitz in this section of the trip what I’m feeling down only you can bring me

So our first stop was in L this was a little town that was built by Napoleon in the 1800s and it has an amazing wacky Mechanical Animals in the pond uh in the main Square called plus Napoleon uh and they have levers that you can uh move to control them very

Steampunky never really sure what that term means but this is what comes to mind after grabbing some much needed coffee and checking out this cool street art painting stuff we were back on the road Again most of the roads in this section of France uh well at least the ones that we were on were dead straight straight straight straight so it wasn’t particularly fun not many twisties but good to just turn up some mileage that mileage did not last long unfortunately

Cuz we hit a lot of traffic always grateful for these legends that pull over by the way uh but if you’ve ever been in traffic and filtered when you got a bike with huge pan and bags and a plion uh you might know that is not the

Most fun so this wasn’t uh this wasn’t one of our favorite times but this was all worth it when we arrived in lell what a cool place this is uh we had a quick little driveth through trying to find some parking but it was actually really nice to admire it

Went down one of those weird cobbled streets where you’re not sure if you’re on a bike path pedestrian path or the king’s Chariot path but we managed to go down it uh and then we made the grave mistake of going into a car park for quadal AKA four-wheel folk so there was

No luck here we had to leave through the barrier by scraping our paniers in between the barrier and the thing here nothing to see though and found some parking to get some lunch we found a place against a cathedral or Church of some sort to eat our highbrow Cuisine of boiled eggs uh

The tourists all gave us weird looks but the French people who walked past all just smiled and said bonti so that was nice L which was found over a thousand years ago has an old uh picturesque Port that has been used since uh Medieval Times uh it has two very iconic Towers

There the St Nicholas Tower and the Tower of the chain and they guard the entrance to the harbor and have played crucial roles in the city’s defense over the the centuries and I’m also jealous that we didn’t park There after Lo show we were back on the road and heading south again ready to get to our first Campsite in the small town of F I see that you are my I feel so happily content I remember when you said you can feel it Al now you can feel it Al

Now you feel it you feel it after a long day in the saddle and uh in some pretty hot weather as well it was amazing to be able to just sit on the beach and just sort of uh take it all in and wind and we also treat it to

An absolutely amazing Sunset as well in the Evening In the morning it was making uh The Breakfast of Champions uh for the road which was bul eggs and horseradish the very famous combination of foods then it was back on the road heading down south along the west coast towards beitz clearly the Romans still uh had an influence in the road building

Here because we went uh around very few Corners very straight roads but interesting scenery nonetheless with not much more to be said about that uh just sit back relax and enjoy this little section of the ride that we Did I see that You I feel so happily content I remember when you said you can feel it Al now you can feel it Now you can feel it now you can feel it Now this is take three it’s too hot for Tom to make sense but where are we Tom we’re in a French Pato history um that used to be a petrol station I just a police station um and it looks really really cool um I love what they’ve done

With it um been sitting here for about 20 minutes and we’ve seen about 1 million French people come out with a minimum of three bagetti so they really Embrace their stereotype of baguette lovers um we are just charging our phones cuz they’re both ran out we’re having trouble with the charging of the

Motorbike but because of our wonderful P it’s gone from about 10% to about 50% in about 10 minutes or so which is insane um and we’ve got about 2 hours left and it’s 3 plus de now so it’s starting to get hot out there so we continued South after this

And we found some Vineyards uh it’s really trippy when you drive alongside them as you can see in this little clip after this we drove across the bridge the Pont Gustav iil uh again quite trippy um it crosses the over do uh sorry about the pronunciation um

But yeah we are officially right near bordo after you’ve crossed this River so we arrived in Bordeaux and uh as lovely as it was to drive through these back streets um it was in the mid to high 30s uh on the temperature and we got stuck at every single red light as

You can see in this clip um and for those of you who have motored in hot weather when you’re just sitting there in full gear um just idling just just sort of slow roasting it’s never much fun so uh as much as bord was beautiful to see we were just roasting and just

Couldn’t wait to get to the other side and get some shade um but lovely lovely um city and it was awesome to drive through it obviously for those who don’t know but um bordo very famous for its wine making okay Thomas update as our situation so we are on the outskirts of Bordeaux

At the moment Bordeaux is a lovely city uh we could we drove the bridge and we could see all of it on the right and it was lovely and then we drove through some back streets um the temperature clock did turn over to 34 1 12° while we sitting

Waiting at a red light so it’s just so so so warm um so we’re just stopping to literally like just strip and cool down get our CS down uh and then we’re going to a campsite which is for cost to be about 35° and annoyingly it’s Inland but

All of the campsites in the coast are these like five star resorts that are not very nice so we just want something relaxed so yeah we just pour water to ourselves I think yeah so we actually carried on driving South we got to the campsite um I want to say thankfully it

Was fully booked um because it was 42° by the time we got there um so we decided that well we looked around everywhere we couldn’t find any spots and actually we decided there was a a little uh Hotel B&B in the nearest town um that promised a fan so we uh decided

To go there so we arrived in the small town of biscos uh which is about halfway between Bordeaux and beer and we just had some much needed cool down time I admired the sights of the little town or Village and got ourselves a pizza so all in all good

Day and pretty much glad we avoided the uh the campsite on a day when it was 40° so yeah turned out all Right the next day we headed further south towards berits um after what felt like weeks of just not taking a single bloody corner with lots of these straight roads except for going through towns like this but most of the time you’re on these long straight roads uh

We finally finally hit some some bends and some Corners just before beer it and that was uh just so much fun after so long of not turning a corner so this was one of the highlights was hitting this first Bend here and just kind of starting to have some twisties and

Actually feel like we’re on a proper motorbike road trip you can feel it you can feel It you can feel you can Feel once we got into the amazing beer Ritz we actually headed through beer Ritz and then down to a campsite just south of beer rits called camping de Plage so happily named and original um but great little spot if you are looking for a campsite near beitz um as it is

Walking distance uh from a niceo swimming beach and just has a very cool Vibe about it all so highly recommend it whilst we’re waiting for our campsite to free up uh we had some lunch which was more boiled eggs and maybe some peppers if we’re feeling um exotic and

Then we headed to the beach which is just across the road uh had some smallish waves but uh still very exciting um and got to body serve some of these monsters as you can see here then it was back to the campsite uh recharge some of the batteries cook up

Some food uh for dinner and then heading across again for an amazing Sunset so uh yeah take in the scenes uh and enjoy what was an awesome Evening and from here we went on to uh Northern Spain so join us for part three as we go across nor Spain absolutely incredible scenery there
