The start line guys dambi on the quad bike just about to give a briefing right can everyone on the back row hear me okay well welcome today’s event round four of the ACU British extreme Championship sponsored by inero tires we are on two hours we’re just waiting for

Literally two kids I think to come back in um I’ll give you a brief in and then when I get the heads up there they’re pretty much back we’ll have a warm up and we’ll be going pretty much straight away obviously straight up theill off the adrenaline’s pumping well F still over here I thought there’s no point getting wrapped up with that lot let’s just get settled in Dar is there good Lad I say he’s going to be uh going for the win just take it Easy find his way through get us get us lap dialed in trying to AV find these rocks Little jaggy Rock stuck out in places rops see what I mean The rain has made it pretty Treacherous first R in a wild l Proper Greasy the goggles Camera see where we are here you know you walk and you you forget Lords downhill have a look here the stream bed better climb Here slippy rocks just start getting settled in now remember I’ve been Yesterday come On all right buddy oh proper Gracie Cber He Let get out here really energy stopping is that what’s tenant Try to keep the camera clean Into the Woods Whoa all right got knocked up In right we’ve got a hill climb coming Oh Yeah F K stand Up all Right W Goles Off A A W Oh Come On What A get on Me W all Right are you marshling I’m out of here I’m going back yeah I know my way back so if you’re number 12 yeah yeah I’ve had it well it’s [ __ ] impossible I’d rather save me bike and you know fight another day you know what I mean yeah yeah yeah

I’m going to make my way out to Fire Road and get back all Right morning guys it’s Monday morning we’re back in the office at home and um time to reflect really on yesterday’s event what can I say I could have done better you know when I think about some of the other races that I’ve been in and this the achievements that I’ve had

Finishing some of those really tough races and then out probably a little bit defeated yesterday but on the flip side of that I still think that I made the right decision to pull out of the race when I did because I didn’t want to wreck the

Bikee and I didn’t want to wreck myself either the conditions were just it I couldn’t get grip if I was struggling on that Hill it would have been the same on the other Hills and the chances I would have boil boiled me bike up or done some damage or whatever and I

Just thought yeah it’s time to call it a day and I’m glad that I did because I saw other guys getting toed in with blown engines Kevin who was at the bottom of the hill with me for a while he retired from the race he’s one of the

Northeast Lads he came back in with the blown engine his engine was knocking his ECU L was flashing so that bike probably needs a rebuild now and um a couple of other guys as well so you know with with brand new bikes with TBI bikes with Blown

Blown engines on them they’ve got some expensive uh work ahead in the next a week or so so I’m glad that in that respect I saved myself but looking at it I could have done better um first race in a while anyway and it just gives me that heads

Up really on what working I need to do I just really need to now start thinking about concentrating on increasing me physical strength um cardio wise I’m not too bad that could be better but I’m not too bad cuz I get out in the morning and do stuff and I

Ride the bike quite a lot bike Fitness is is not is not bad at all but there are a lot lot of improvements that I can make and that’s what I’m going to have to do now until I go to Serbia in June so there going to

Be a lot of riding there’s going to be a lot of more physical training and um yeah yeah I could have done better Robo you could Robo you could have done better absolutely but it is what it is but fair play to those guys that finished looking at the results there

Were some some good performances by L of Chris Green and uh Derry Miller and um you know the afternoon gu I didn’t I didn’t stop for the afternoon race because I want to get back and get cleaned up and you know how it is but um yeah some good performances by

Some of the guys Deo Butler as well uh taking the uh Elite vets win there with two laps really good and Dave Wood as well put a good performance him with his uh duck down jacket on there I think he had a bit of an experience in the pitch

With two really good mechanics not going to say any more than that but I think the best thing about yesterday for me looking back at it was just having the crack talking to some of the guys that I know catching up telling some stories

You know is it’s all good fun a lot of banter a lot of good humor and yeah really enjoyed it really enjoyed it so yeah I could have done better yesterday but it is what it is live to fight another day bik’s good we’ve got some training to do

Hopefully this week the temperature is going to get a little bit better bit cold outside and and drizzly at the moment so hopefully midweek we’re out for a ride in the 300 lickers wounds a little bit excuse me and uh progress to the next level back soon with something else see you soon

Guys

  1. Great Job, and the right Decision. Yeah Fitness is Key – since I lost 4 KG and must not breath even under hard conditions, it’s so much more fun to ride. I guess you been on the 250, right? If so, is there something you can change on the bike to do better on hills like this?

  2. Mega effort that Robbo! Never easy to post the harder days for content but that was class viewing.
Some of the videos coming out of Last one standing have been brutal 👀🙌

  3. Good effort, looked slippy as!! I just got my first 300 at 57 but you’re defo more game than me to have a crack at that! Your wise enough to know when enough is enough 👍🏻

  4. Everyone has bad days props to you for sharing ! what year is that GPX and is is the two stroke 300 R ??? How do you like it Is there anything you really don’t like has it been reliable thank you. Hope to hear from you.

  5. That is mental. I rode the Standard cross country this year at Staunton as a newb and really struggled let alone something like the extreme.(I came last 😂). I loved it though but I have no idea how people get up those insane muddy hills like on the extreme.
