A former world champion with Stage wins at all three grand Tours Mass Pon is just lacking a monument from his impressive CV oh Pon King of the day phenomenal effort by him the Dane has been close with fourth place finishes at bahi H and two appearances on the podium

At theond of landra but a win has remained elusive it’s been a similar story this year with a 28-year-old finishing fourth at Milano Sano I’m definitely where I should be in this part of the season the numbers is a bit better than last year but I think we

Have to say this every year otherwise you you can’t follow anymore so uh it looks pretty good and and also the confidence is it’s high enough with his Target set firmly on rondra and how does mass prepare for the back-to- back monuments during such a busy

Spring pin is like kind of the final touch to to be ready for the classics and then fine-tuning the last details to be best possible on that Sunday we start to focus on on the day after Flanders we target everything for OB it’s one week of H training of doing uh motor pacing

With the quad on the on the cobbles and me and my dad we were thinking how can we improve the Recons you know the cobbles they always super hard because you want to have some Race speed but to get the race speed alone it’s it’s not easy and there you’re kind of overdoing

The the couples first we were thinking to do motor pacing with the normal scooter I was like yeah I also don’t want to risk my Dad’s life and uh crashing on the cobbles so a friend of his he offered us to borrow his uh his quad and then we could do mot pacing

Behind and then going to the coues with a lot better speed than uh I would have done without there was a lot of change at Le Tre over the winter as the team added 10 New Riders to their roster including the Italian Sprinter Jonathan Milan it’s nice that we have Milan now

Also it means that I don’t specifically have to go to all the sprint races but I also can use races for more like a preparation instead of races where I I have to go to to try and win so it’s really nice to have him him on the team

As well and uh I enjoy now I’m I’m training with him these weeks and I really enjoy it a little bit on the downhill and when it started to keep up a bit in the back then I attacked then we were racing to the top I just smashed him on the climb Ah

That’s why full destroyed him and then he went out and then we didn’t see him sit it’s like an hour and a half ago and mass will be hoping to do more damage to his competitors on The Punchy Olympic course in Paris this summer on paper the course looks really good it’s

It’s a tough one it’s a lot of uh I would say kickers up and down um but I think I showed with the level I had the last couple of years that it’s definitely possible to to aim for for medal at Olympics and uh yeah when OB is

Done that’s the main focus um of course I have to be ready in the tour and and have to be 100% but last year we did the kind of the same because Wells was also two weeks after the tour and we showed I

Was I was good in the T and Wells so we tried to copy paste those few months after olymp skos he’s targeting the Welter I believe I can have a stage win or two there some good stages and I think it’s possible to to some opportunities to have a win plus I would

Like to be a part of him finishing on the podium in in the Welter and of course before all of that there’s the to of France a race where Mass has had great success this year however needle Trek will have tail G and heart on the team as they look to place

Him high in the general classification we go to the tour definitely to try to put t on on the podium but we also want to have stages doing it otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to bring me to the tour as well and I don’t think it’s a bad thing for

Ta also to help out in the Sprints it means that he will be in a good position and so on he’s a good bike Handler so it shouldn’t be a problem uh but I think you will see me leading him out more often then then opposite but that’s also

Okay for any Sprint stage at this year’s tour one man’s name will be on everyone’s lips but surely there wouldn’t be any thoughts of giving Cavendish an easy ride home to record his 35th Tour stage win Here Comes Mark carage it’s coming up to the line is he

Going to get there oh I think he has I think he has done it if it’s head-to-head against me no uh I’m also here to to win bike races and the team expect me to do that as well uh I would love to see him make this record and

Make it to the 35th uh to the front stage but if it cost me the victory then H I would have to say no but if it’s another one then H I hope they will break and uh and do it for him but I’m not I’m not going to be that guy

    1. Mads P are a special rare rider, the Bigger the troubles are, the better He
Get. To enjoy hell in North 😱🤯 with
A smile! Almost hoping for rain in
      Paris Roubaix!

    2. Why mention a sprinter who can't finish a race, never mind win a race, doesn't deserve a roster spot, never mind a TDF spot, and is the antithesis of of Mads, the subject of this video and one who seems to be the nicest guy in the peloton. Why?

    3. With all due respect to the Manx Missile, I'm certain the sprinter on many people's lips in July will rather be Jasper Philipsen, the best of the bunch last season and the main man to beat.

I'm also that Mads meant "If he comes against me or any other, he will have to deserve that win" at the end, as no one will be "that guy".

    4. "Former world champion Mads Pedersen hopes to "MOTOR" his way to a first Monument win this spring"? 🤔🤨 A la Alberto Contador? Dear God such unbridled audacity! Mechanical doping is NOT going away anytime soon!
