Teachers in your city I was like yeah there’s quite a few and my uncle actually said he said that many people want to move to America in your city and I was like what do you mean what that’s why people study English no they want to move to the United States

In the corner of the the screen and I could not find an American flag anywhere so I was like what the heck this doesn’t make sense there has to be a way to translate it into English and then I found the British flag because Americans did not invent English sure and I always
Uh judge myself for that one well that was pretty bad see I would be looking for the American flag too though because you’re just trying you’re just trying to get it to your country I feel like so that one’s not as bad because I feel
Like I would do the same but yeah yeah we we speak English you know y’all y’all created it people in the UK created it first and I don’t like the call but we speak English I call it American English it’s like it’s English but not really

Now but I remember being a kid about like 10 11-ish and it was actually surprising to me that European history continued like okay well Europeans came to America and then European history stopped right because nothing else mattered after that because there was America what do you mean that they continued
Living lives and having history over there between the time when America was started and when We rescued them in World War II that’s I’d like to say that was just American Education when I was a kid but I think it’s American Education a lot of places now ah I don’t know

As a British guy in defence of America, the World series is allegedly named after a soap manufacturer. Not claiming a universal right to baseball. Though, as an aside, does the detergent company still exist? Or is it the New York World newspaper involvement, or actually from Barney Drefus who challenged Henry Killilea to a a world championship? Nope, colonial hubris for the win!
Only poor 2nd development countries would consider dating a US citizen for green cards.
Funny thing is you are not well liked at all.
The people who see America as the whole world as children are NORMAL. We start by not being able to see beyond our family. Then we find out there's people beyond our neighborhood, then we discover there are whole other neighborhoods. Then other geographical regions – and in America as a child, we usually get stuck there for a while, because, from sea to shining sea, there's just about every ecosystem and social demographic present. Of course kids are aware of other countries, but in an abstract way. And for those of us who have seldom or never traveled beyond our own huge country, suddenly being thrust into another culture, for whatever reason, is a shock. (Does "culture shock" sound familiar?) I want to know what geniuses believe that, over the course of the 10 hour flight, this unexperienced American will suddenly become The Savvy Traveler. Pretzel logic.
Other countries will always tell their country when you ask where they are from, Americans will say their state or city.
I also once told an American (from New York State, a border state) that I was Canadian and he said “ You know, I always knew Canada was a big place but I didn’t know anyone actually lived there”

I dated an American for a long time and I would get people asking when I’m moving to the states. I politely explained that HE would be moving to Canada. We broke up, but I found it rather funny that Americans assumed I wanted to be American.

5:13 just to clarify, i think that she was shocked because her parents were tthinking about México, Spanish Visa is strong af, being the thirsd strongest passport in the world just below Japan. It does not give you a citicenship but you can travel to the US and work without needing to have one of you want, there is no need for green card, there are some dosadvantages but if you have a job there you are unlikely to experiment any disceimination aside from racism, and it won't be directed towards you but the country they think you come from (Mexico)

As a Spaniard, I remember a young American couple visiting our country some thirty years ago and commenting on how surprised they were at our having running water at home, cars, washing machines and fridges, ice cream and jeans.
I asked them in the same guise, keeping a straight face, which was hard because I wanted to laugh: how do you fit your washing machine and fridge and the rest of appliances in your tipi? (They had told me they were a quarter Cherokee, although they were both blond and blue eyed)
