It’s the opening day of the season for one of Garry’s regular campsites, Holland’s Wood in the New Forest. And as usual, Garry wants to be there. The weather forecast isn’t great, but that’s not deterring Garry.

Morning all well the cat sitting duties are over well I’ve got um uh my daughter’s father-in-law is going to cover the next few days um we’re off to the New Forest the weather forecast isn’t good for today um there’s a strong headwind and I think there’s rain I’m meant to be coming in
Um later so we want to get as far as we can before um that starts um I think from what I’ve seen it’s only going to last a a couple of hours maybe but we shall see so yeah well the the idea is I’m going to go down to the New Forest
Today um possibly warm possibly stop there tomorrow night um I don’t know um and then Sunday maybe head over to France that’s the plan at the moment anyway but we all know what me and my plans a aike god it’s rather warm this morning BL me you it’s quite hard going against this
Wind right well oh no I think we won’t go um along the sea front today I think we best keeping away from that with this wind all right let’s go on that road and I should turn you around all right oh right let’s see if we can do this
Me right give up on that oh there you go we can J right I think my hands are getting so bad I think we’re going to have to stop to do that in the future the all hand coordination is not very good well we’ve just come through uh haven’t and well uh the
Rains um coming in now so so we’ve put our waterproofs on I sure I’ll leave you out for a bit um to be honest I thought I’d stop before it got too wet it was that really fine drizzly sort of rain so we got our waterproofs on now
Good point put that one so hopefully it’ll be a fairly um quick shower though I think it’s in for a couple of hours so right I might put you away I might not I’ll see of course now I put my waterproofs on it doesn’t seem to be raining or is it
Nope how annoying um as you can see um I’ve not replace my cap yet um I keep getting it’s one of those things that I don’t remember until I get um it out again so maybe I should make a note of it to change when I get
Back home um I think I said before I do have a another one in fact I know I do cuz I saw it uh yesterday when I was looking for something he ho oh right we’re overheat now I might have to stop and take these off it’s no good I’m getting too
Hot I have to take these off and question is where H oh I don’t know I do have a bench [Applause] oh who knows nowhere here well we know I happen once I do take them off but hey ho we shall see right turn you around don’t know like that I forget
That I’ll do it when I’ve [Applause] stopped wow now a flipping we meant to get around here something annoying oh there we go cross over maybe it wasn’t so bad after all they they closed that road um a few months ago but well they didn’t close the foot path last
Time who knows why they’ done it this time we’re doing well with these par being closed today and the one over the other side one which we normally go on is closed they seem to be doing a lot of um pipe work these days on their [Applause]
Pavements which probably does make a lot more sense and we just come uh past gosport um really and we’re heading to Leon Sol definition of a bicycle seems very loose these days and one concerning thing um when I got off the bike at the ferry my right leg
Was uh tingly and numb which does make sense I suppose if I’ve got a slick dis on that side um but more worryingly um both arms are completely um numb dead um I got really bad Tenors and to be honest I don’t feel with it at
All I just seem to be going along in in um automatic pilot um I’m hoping I’m going to stop uh Leon Sol where well which is where we normally stop anyway um get something to eat and drinking well hopefully we’ll feel a bit more with it after that
Hi oh weather to the left there it doesn’t look too bright I think I’ve just felt a few spots well we just had a very brief break that’s quite cold now and I I know you do get cold after you’ve been sweating and you stop but yeah they did say the temperature
Was going to drop they weren’t joking of course you got the OS what was the Osborne view Pub here um I saw it on the news me it burned down I me certainly has there’s not much left for that all hopefully they’ll rebuild it ah the gate back this
Time last time we came that had been knocked over oh well I always think it’s going to be worse here than it actually is not too bad at all now do we go and see if the pink faer is going or not uh oh should we just let go around
The roads I think we’re just going to go around the roads can’t be bothered to go down there and see chances are it probably is going now but hey ho we’ll go this way wind’s rather strong up here now we’re just crossing the won bridge in Southampton God for that more Road
Works oh seem to be everywhere at the moment want to go down there cross over there it’ll be Let see all right looks like this is closed again oh well let go down on the road sure it was open the last time we came this way or maybe not I like this new Surface and it’s a lot wider this was always a very narrow little
Part just hope further up they’re not working oh it’s closed offly hell that’s annoying right oh lost right that’s very annoying never mind it’s a matter of all these Road works today all right let’s get trying to find our way around now oh only a couple more
Yards and then we’re in the New Forest yay oh there you go how exciting is that of course I’m not checked to see if the camp site’s open uh hopefully it is if it isn’t we’ll have to worry about it at the time I don’t know the last time I spoke
To you um well we made it uh to the New Forest um it’s very damp blim me ground is very where it’s just starting to rain again now but well we made it down there and dry and we managed to um Pitch the tank in the dryer so it’s literally
Just coming in now but I think it’ll only be a a short shower um 71 miles today although I think a couple of those might have been from uh last week when I attempted to go away yeah um well we went into uh Brock and HST to get some beer
And as for normal we’ve ended up getting fishing chips every time I don’t know why oh I I bring um the contents in my fridge with me cuz nine times out of 10 we never um use them we we end up getting fish and chips hey Hope um I’m not too sure what
We’re doing tomorrow um I forgot to mention earlier cuz I said about going to France well I went to book it um last night on well they’ve got um some new app so I tried it on that um when I thought I’d booked it but then I never received a
Confirmation email and the money hadn’t disappeared from my account so I had to ring them a little bit um well we haven’t made the booking so I don’t know whether we’re going to go to France now or not um it it’s very wet everywhere um half
The campsite here is closed off cuz it is so wet under foot um I can see why they haven’t opened on the Y white now I mean you always think well you know that your own garden is wet but you you forget how everywhere else is so I should have a little think
Overnight what we’re going to do um I might go home tomorrow I say it is very muddy in Camp yeah well I shall have my fishing chips and uh two beers and then make a decision oh right well I shall speak to you all in the morning goodbye
