Episode 1 of Abbie Bikes Britain.

In late summer 2021 Abbie Barnes cycled from Dunnet Head and John O Groats to The Lizard Point and Lands End, via each of the UK’s 15 National Parks and their highest peaks.

This epic 55 day expedition saw Abbie and her partner Anna (who drove the support van) travel over 2000 miles and battle mental ill health, chronic pain, and a number of unanticipated life-challenges along the way. Yet the duo completed this life-changing venture and now have a 3-part film series on YouTube following the highs and lows of their journey.

The purpose of Abbie Bikes Britain was to raise awareness about how:
    – our green spaces need protecting
    – community saves lives
    – mental health matters
    – our stories deserve to be heard

    2. i must say, sadly i tried to end my life in october., but then i realised i just dont have family . i have you ….. thankyou to both you and hanna…xxxxxx

    3. Abbie, Anna and all friends/volunteers/… you are amazing. Such a hartwarming video. Thank you for sharing the awarness of mental health.

    4. Fantastic…I have been counting down the weeks and days till this aired ..and Yay..I was not disappointed. Such a great capture of your mission and you both as a team. Love the emphasis on dreams but the need for support to achieve and complete too. We can't do life (well) alone!. A bit of support, belief, love and encouragement goes a long way. Thanks for all you do and for creating your Wild community for others to find support. 👍🥾🚲❤️🌿😃

    5. Also want to add that as much as I love your solo adventures, your team work adventures with Anna are brilliant. I hope you guys consider continuing to adventure together as well as your own solo challenges Abbie. 👍🥾🚶‍♀️🌿❤️🚲

    6. Both of you… THANK YOU! I have had my best friends attempt suicide, but they found coping mechanisms for their underlying issues and are thriving today despite their ongoing struggles. In life I contemplated "getting off the bike after enjoying the ride', but my Guardian Angel spoke to me again saying "No. Be Patient " That saved my life.

This has to be the best film on YouTube I have ever seen. You are both SPOT ON with everything you say, and it's so wonderful to see two companions in love and continuing to explore friendship, companionship, travel, experience, life and the joys that they bring.

      Godspeed

    7. Wow, I've been so looking forward to this film. What a beautiful adventure, you are such an inspiration Abbie. Can't wait to see film 2 🙏

    8. Everything about this film is beautiful from the mountains, through the music, by the people to the mission. It's a real gift.

    9. Great work Abbie, came across your walking videos a while back and just seen you have uploaded this, will sit down later to watch it in full.

    10. What a lovely video, especially liked your choice of music. Fits in well with all that scenery. Looking forward to seeing the rest!

    11. That was so great! My heart was with you every step and pedal-stroke of the way. Many, many congratulations for daring to create and pull off this amazing challenge – truly inspiring, having the strength to follow through and commit to such a project. Way to go, both of you!

    12. Both of you are remarkable people. I don't think you will ever really understand just how many people you have positively impacted with Spend More Time In The Wild, I count myself as one of those fortunate enough to have been inspired and lifted up by your efforts. All the best to you and I very much look forward to watching part two.

    13. Wow! Cheated, watched the last first and now I'm starting … all the feels 💗💗💗 The music really got me emotionally anchored in your journey!!! I wish I coukd binge watch them all but I'm currently being watched by my dog 🙈😁 Walkies 💗

    14. You and Anna should come to the US and hike the Appalachian Trail. I am planning my journey on the AT in 2024 for my 50th birthday. You have helped inspire this decision. Come with me?! XOXO

    15. Massive fan, your vids inspired me to do OYZ with the boys. To see you take on a deeper and more complex project is amazing. Thanks for telling your story.

    16. Bless ya Abbie, you are truly an inspiration, the world is a far better place with you in it. I too suffer with my mental health (not to your extent) but I find hiking helps massively, and I also need video footage to remember & re-experience them, which is one reason why we have our channel.
You take care of yourself. Love The Shackletons

    17. wow, so very well done! I didn't want it to end…so informative and done in a way that drew us in.The story comes through at every turn and I felt the journey as it unfolded. Looking forward to the next one!!

    18. Ohhh Abbie and Partner I didn’t realise when I subscribed how emotive and real this would be for me, my life has always been about walking that edge between leaving and staying, and also it’s always been about, the struggle between the mountains, there has never been a rest between the mountains, just the struggle between the mountains, and the mountains have always been a place where I’ve said to myself, oh no I don’t know weather I can do this again, I’m talking metaphorically. I’m crying so I guess I’ll write again in a bit. Bless you and what you have done for us all . Old Owl 🦉 Alaya.

    19. Such a wonderful project. So many important points given attention to in both you and Anna's narratives to the documentary. Been viewing your 'adventures' for a few months now and can personally say that watching them are a great support through what are some of the most difficult life challenges that are being thrown in one's path. Keep up the fantastic work and hope to book one of your walks in the future. Stay positive, stay wild.
