It’s been over 4 years since we bought our Swift Kon-Tiki Sport 574, we named Thor. We look back at the memories it has helped us make.

So we’re saying goodbye to our mot home we say goodbye to Thor uh next week and this is a chance for us to remember all the trips we’ve had from Oaky to Bavaria yeah so we collected Thor the Swift cantiki 574 on the third of December 2019 yeah here we are just about to drop off our old van just going to leave it there for a minute I probably want it around the back I guess but there got labels on it some of these

So they’ll be going out as well all right let’s go poppy know away now Right done all the paperwork had a cup of coffee PO is really excited and there’s the new van so we’re going to have a little look around it and the first trip we did was to nbor with Posh cats and then we went on to Southport with Glenn and Sharon yeah

Right we’re on our first trip proper in the new Moto in Thor so we we trying to decide what to call this tour aren’t we yeah I came up with Thor’s first tour yeah that was December 2019 yep the first tour was Thor’s bord tour to trap Beck head newcastleton we hav

Never been back to the Newcastle have we no and muf it and that sort of took us into 2020 yeah and the we had loads of trips planned but the last one we managed before Co was to wolfdale where we were on our way to that Year’s harate show

While we were at wolfdale the show was cancelled we were going to the Yorkshire Moman Camp van show yes that’s right but ironically we’ just come back from four years later yeah so anyway we came home and and on March the 24th 2020 you recorded this little clip H

Everybody um it’s Tuesday the 24th of March and I’m recording this just after the government’s announcement about what a virtually amounts to a lockdown I suppose they’re not going to call it a lockdown but certainly restricted travel and all the shops closed so Thor was left on the drive for till July wasn’t

It but thinking back it helped us through the covid lockdown as we often sat in the van like we’re doing now and imagine where would’ like to be yeah um I think we also during that period I feel you helped others with your new tomoto series yeah so if you haven’t

Seen that there’ll be a link Down Below in the description uh to the new to motom so if you are new to motom it’s a ideal time to have a look at it yeah it’s it was one that I don’t think you would recorded had you had we’ve been on

The road all the time no if we hadn’t had the time to do it I probably wouldn’t have done it would I no that’s right yeah it was a bonus of covid if there is was such a thing yeah yeah So eventually um campsites started to

Reopen um but you had to use your own facilities yeah and we found this van was fine for doing that yeah you know so you yeah um the big tour we did in 20120 was to Scotland wasn’t it yeah that’s right yeah where still facility box were

Closed and all that was a bit is it a bit complicated was it that one where we could go some places go others oh it got yeah because we started with those tears and you couldn’t go here and we could go there because we were in this tier and

Yeah but very complicated Joy of joy that wasn’t yeah so but we did enjoy it we did enjoy our tour to Scotland after lockdown it was fantastic just really to get away wasn’t it so it was yeah so we’re leaving Maran killing and you know the RO hey 827 yeah

We got get back to the um a85 then the a82 through Glen Co is one of our favorite drives yeah so hopefully we’ll be able to take some nice Scenery Yeah so that’s the picture we got that’s the view we’ve got yeah so 2021 uh started in with another big covid lockdown that lasted till April didn’t it yeah and then when we were eventually allowed to go to campsites um we were only allowed to meet people

Outside yeah so we met our friends um outside yeah that was our where we took our famous picture of the that’s right I’ve got a little clip if anyone’s got any of our stickers there a picture of us the freezing cold Roy and common yeah

Cuz it we had group of six or something and we had to meet outside Yeah A But we did manage there were hardly any shows at all 2021 so we we went on quite a few tours we went down to the Southwest from the cot walls to tinel tintagel was fantastic yeah the castle there yeah yeah um then we went uh to the South Coast we did Dorset in

Hampshire for quite a while we went back to the north broads where we’d gone on boats in the past yeah that was a bit of a trip down memory lane it was wasn’t it it was yeah and we did Scotland far Northeast England we baric and then into

Scotland space side didn’t we yeah space side met up with David from Desmond’s Dundas that’s right yeah yeah and then moving into 2022 where the lockdowns had finished and we had Easter at hartfordshire ashell which we finally enough we’re on our way again to on the way to Trev

Rally yeah that’s right yeah um susex um we went to uh battle battle Abby and we went to Brighton yeah for the first time yeah and then we had a great trip to Wales uh starting at Red kite oh yeah I remember Harlot castle harle castle cycling up

That hill know Char castle Yeah Yeah and then the Highlight really of 2022 was uh Northern Island yeah it’s fantastic Northern Island must get back there sometime and they drive along the um ANM Coastline was fantastic that’s right I’m just going to I’m Going so then we move into last year and we’ve started with a tour of Yorkshire we went to the a of white that was warm there wasn’t it it was really hot there wasn’t it yeah um we did Osborn house carisbrook castle and then we went to

Arney and memories there of the causeway and various sites that we saw was CA causeways everywhere is it another one down here that goes across that Island there yeah not even sure what island that is now I’m not sure what island we’re on at the moment but we’re still

On borrow no I don’t think we are we’re cross the causeway again oh right very mean bar sorry that was the original idea they sunk ships to block the the way but the uo still got through feel like I’m breathing in here yeah and then probably the highlight of

That year was a Euro tour first time we’d been back to um that area for since 2018 yeah last time we’d been was 2018 yeah so it was almost five years since we’ve been to Europe and we going again this year so looking forward to that yeah so we went to France Luxembourg

Germany Netherlands and then back to Belgium and EPA um I think the Highlight for me was that day trip we did to Luxembourg City yeah fantastic place and we had have Mr voice over with us didn’t we because forgot to switch your mic on again but amazing amazing Place amazing

City the fortifications were built gradually over nine centuries from soon after the city’s foundation in the 10th Century until 1867 and by the end of the Renaissance Luxemburg was already one of Europe’s strongest Fortresses Yeah so looking back over these years I it’s been about four years we’ve had this van yeah um it’s the other great thing about it is we’ve taken on various occasions the vwr with us yeah especially to place like Cornwall or places we want to explore and also um

It’s taken us to various mome shows we’ve used the mome then like a caravan we and the up has taken us into the shows yeah so we’ve done about 28,000 miles and we we have yeah in this F which is quite surprising considering the matter of time we weren’t using it I

Know but what it have been if we had been able to use it yeah yeah so what will you miss it oh I’m going to miss the van yeah I mean it’s it’s your home on Wheels isn’t it you’re saying goodby to your home so it’s a little bit sad

But we’re really happy to be picking up our new mot home and hoping that we can make lots of more memories in our new mot home which we pick up on on Monday yeah so you’ll be watching this on Sunday the following day we’ll be going

To pick it up yeah so looking forward to that yeah yeah so that’s it then is it that’s it yeah so sad and happy at the same time yeah it’s difficult isn’t it yeah yeah yeah so uh thanks for watching if you enjoyed it give us a thumbs up

And I’m told I’m not asking for people to subscribe so no no um the analytic person who behind that all that is telling us that we’re down on subscribers again yeah yeah you’re the analytics person really yeah well it’s worked out that we’re down again but if

You do subscribe you’ll catch us picking up our new mot home so that’s always a interesting time isn’t it so right so if you haven’t already please do so and we’ll catch you in the next one yep we will so bye then bye then

    1. I found the beginning a bit emotional 😊 Life certainly was peculiar for a while 😷 You’ve certainly given Thor a good life & memories you’ll both hold onto forever. Good luck tomorrow & well, the story continues, just a different cover. Enjoy you three (sometimes four) Em 💜

    5. Doesn’t seem all that long since you found your current van at Todd’s. How time flies!! I remember Jenny all excited with the fridge opening both ways 🙂

I have said this before to you Bob and Jenny but I really mean it …. During that awful lockdown when I felt such frustration at the world one of the only things that helped me was endlessly playing your older Scotland videos on loops. I used to love you just showing the scenery of the beautiful Highlands and Islands with a lovely music choice over the top of the views. Imagining myself there again and remembering the beauty waiting there was liberating. ❤

    14. Would have loved to have bought Thor from you. As experienced and knowledgeable owners and having followed you on YouTube, you would have been exactly the type of previous owners I would have trusted particularly as it would have been my first motorhome. Plus I’ve got a Westie. 😊

    15. Wishing you both all the best in your future travels as you move to a new motorhome. Safe driving, fun times and happy memories. Memories last a lifetime, CamperVans and Motorhomes a little less (Though some last in the right hands a lifetime remarkably well !!)

    16. Your wonderful videos got me through “lockdown” and your “New to Motorhomes” series was invaluable when I bought my first motorhome. I still go back to them if I am unsure about anything, you are both brilliant 😊. Good Luck with the new one, can’t wait to see it on your next adventure.

    17. Your introduction to motorhome videos were invaluable to us, as we picked up our first motorhome in Sept 2021. Watched your films ever since – best wishes for your new van!

    18. We started motor home trips around 2003 21 years ago Traveled the world i was about 45 i retired from work at 40 we had a ball lots of great experiences around 5 years ago when i was 60 we made a decision to sell the old Motor Home and but an Aston Martin DB11 and w started staying in some really nice hotels in Europe It was nice to have the bed made for us and have breakfast served by someone else ect and I dont regret selling up the Motor home I think life is all about chapters in a book and having the Motor Home was a special time We all lost Time with COVID and when your of older years you know you can never make it back I enjoy watching the videos it brings back happy memories of days gone past meeting freinds who have now passed and the Dogs we had as companions I wish you both well and i wish you heath and happiness with your new Motor home

    19. Makes me want another one now, but for now I can enjoy your adventures in the new van. Congratulations on the new van too.
I resubbed as I hadn't realised that I had been unsubbed?

    20. Being a mature sensible motorcyclist I do dislike some motorhome drivers who will not pull over and let others pass. However, I really do like the idea of a motorhome holiday but maybe with a motorcycle on the back 😂😂

    21. “Have Motorhome, will Travel!” 🚐 So many wonderful trips (and useful tips). Farewell to your lovely Motorhome. Looking forward to seeing your new one. Thank you Bob and Jenny, Poppy and Tara.
