Got a small sausage roll. Isn’t this cottage just gorgeous? Good  morning. Good morning. Today Jörg and I   are exploring traditional fishing villages  and towns in beautiful Cornwall. Yes and   we’re here in Mevagissey – – yes which has  a really beautiful harbour. Not only that,

Jörg just said like the moment we  came here he said it smells of like   Cornish pasties everywhere. Yes and it’s  just wonderful. It really is and well,   yeah this is the land of Poldark, Daphne du  Maurier and for us Germans, we pronounce it

German, Rosamunde Pilcher. Yes everybody knows  her in Germany. Yes. We have films on German TV.   We’ve been watching the films for I don’t know  maybe 30 years – yeah – so – yeah – it’s really   great to be here. We love Cornwall so much  so yeah, we hope you will enjoy this video. A lady who lives here just told  us it’s so beautiful she’s been   living here all her life and she said she  never tires of it. I can totally get it. Not sure, I’m not sure if you can  see it. This house here, this one,   would be our dream because it’s overlooking  the sea and I think in the winter time when   it’s cold and stormy you can just  sit and watch and enjoy your time.

[Music] We have the best weather. Sunny spells,  not too warm, I think there will be a bit of   rain tomorrow that’s why we picked today to  explore the area. It’s really really nice. [Music] This is the UK, very narrow roads,

Just one lane and we’re really used  to it now. This is what happens. That fudge shop looked so amazing  that we went inside and bought so um,   you have to take them out –  yeah – then we can show them. It’s – that’s – strawberry cream. Yeah. Rum raisin. Oh yes. Yeah.  And that’s, no wait -traditional

Traditional – yeah it’s clotted cream. Clotted  cream. It looks amazing. So the shop is called   The Cornish Fudge shop. You’re trying  strawberry cream. Yeah, I’m trying a piece. Smells divine. Good? Mmhh.  Let me, let me try it as well. Oh yeah. Oh that’s good. Mmhh.

We haven’t had fudge in such a long time and when  you’re on Cornwall you have to try it. It’s good.   Are you tempted to go to Mary’s Pasties? Do  you want to to go there? I’m not tempted,   I’m going. Okay. You’re determined. Yes, very  determined. Okay. Mary’s Pasties. You didn’t go

For a pasty. Yeah, they were too big. Got  a small sausage roll. A small one. Well,   it’s it’s not small. Yeah. You’re you’re fooling,  you’re fooling all of us because it’s very big. Look, it’s it’s that long, like I  don’t know, 20 cm, a 20 cm sausage roll. Good?

Huh. It is a tad windy. Yeah, a bit windy here.  So we’re now in Charlestown which is famous, well,   not not only for Poldark – yeah – but most  of us know Poldark. Yes if you’ve seen or if   you’ve watched Poldark, you will recognise the  harbour. Exactly. And it’s a beautiful harbour,

We will show you in a second. It’s from the  Georgian period. It’s really really striking. Yes.   iIt was used to load and unload copper and I think  later on china clay. Yes, yes It’s really really   nice. Last time we were here they were actually  filming scenes for Poldark – yeah, yeah – which

Was amazing so on the other hand, we can now  go, let me show you. Now this is the amazing   harbour and last time we were here, they were  filming down there so it was closed. This time

We can have a look. And there seems to be  a Poldark stand. We have to check that out.   Yeah. It’s really really nice. It’s a gorgeous  harbour. And also there are lots of houses,   holiday cottages and yeah, we’ll check it out.  See the Poldark stand, they sell whiskey, cider

And ale. I thought it would have something to do  with the with a series. Yeah, maybe Polder’s hat. So these cottages are traditional fisher cottages.   They have a lovely pastel colour and I  think most of them are actually holiday cottages. Isn’t this cottage just gorgeous?  Yes. I I love the rose. Hm, yeah. And the

Pastel colours of the other cottages. And the  post box must be from the 30s – yes – because   it’s from a George. From one of the Georges. Yes.  From Queen Elizabeth’s father. Yeah. So this one

Is actually for sale and I will check it out in  a minute. I bet it’s really really expensive. This is a very nice holiday accommodation  called ‘Beach Retreat’. I will link that   for you in the info box in case you’re  interested. Don’t really know how good   it is but it looks quite nice. Also has a little  private garden. And the harbour is down there. Now this ship called ‘Kajsamoor’, sorry  about that, it’s Norwegian actually.   That was used in Poldark and also the  series Taboo in case you watched that. Did you see that? These boats were  built by Charlestown Harbour for the   TV series Hornblower – yeah – that we  absolutely love. We love Hornblower.

I think we need to rewatch it. Yes. And also  Poldark, Taboo, what’s that? Ammonite. That’s a   film. Did we watch that? No. No, we haven’t. No.  We haven’t. Isn’t that with Kate Winslet. Yes,   Kate Winslet and – should know the other person  but um, okay. Now we have reason to watch it.

It’s just such a gorgeous  and unique harbour. Well,   we won’t be buying alcohol. I thought  it would have something to do with the   series so I don’t know like paintings or  pictures. Something like that. We’re now   in Fowey. We pronounce it Fowey to rhyme  with joy. It’s a very pretty harbour town. Such elegant houses here in Fowey. And the view  they have. So if you sit here on this this little balcony you get this view. So tonight we’re going to have fish & chips at  this place. A big portion fish & chips for Jörg   and for me a small portion. That’s the big one.  Okay, that’s huge. Yeah, it’s okay. How much was this? Do you remember? 8.50 or  something? Hm. And the chips are

2 something. 2 something. That’s the  small one and that’s totally fine. Can you manage all of it? Not sure.  So that’s what what’s left of the the   small fish & ship version – yeah – and I’m  completely full. I’m done but it was good. It’s very windy. And it’s now, how many  degrees? It says 16. It doesn’t feel like   it. No. It feels really really cold because the  sun is gone. The sun is gone yeah. You’re really   freezing now. I’m full but Fowey is so nice.  It feels really, I don’t know, there are a lot

Of elegant houses. Yeah. Really really gorgeous.  Fowey is nice. Yeah. Fowey. Fowey like like joy. Isn’t this amazing? We’re in Lostwithiel  today which is also known as the Antiques   capital of Cornwall. It’s only about a  mile from the gorgeous cottage was staying   at and in case you haven’t watched  that video you should check it out.

[Music] What did you get? This is strawberry  and mint. Ohhh. I thought you would love   that. Yeah. That’s great. So. I love that. Enjoy.  Thank you. Of course. Good? Oh yeah. Really? It’s   actually, it’s very big, isn’t it? It’s a big  ice cream. Yes what I deserve today. You do. We have a little bit of rain now and we saw that  there is an actual antique centre but we won’t be   going there today because it’s past 4 o’clock so  it will be closing down soon but it’s fine. Jörg

Had his ice cream that he really enjoyed. That  was his treat for the weekend and yeah. Today   we are in Polperro which is a historic fishing  village. Looks so different to all the other   fishing villages we have visited so far. It’s  really nice to explore something new. [Music]

Jörg is over there but I said to  him he should be careful because   we have high tide now so the water’s coming in. We stopped for lunch because we hardly  had any breakfast. And this is um,   smoked hot smoked mackerel salad. We  both have the same. It looks good.   This is where we had lunch. The House on  the Props. It’s also a Bed & Breakfast. Yeah. We’re heading home now. It was so worth  coming here and I can’t believe how lucky   we were with the weather so I hope you  liked it. There are so many incredible   places to explore in Cornwall so we always  only scratch the surface. So thank you so

Much for watching and as always we’ll see  you again very soon so until next time. Bye.

    1. I always LOVE your seaside visits. The areas are so wonderful. I can't imagine living in this village your entire life. What lovely life. I really need Joerg's metabolism! TY!

    2. Ha! Absolutely loved your video. My folks came from the Fowey Estuary – I know those streets and views so well! I've even sat on that very bench by the river in Lostwithiel. My family were from the little village on the opposite side of the estuary called, Polruan. Locals in (relatively impoverished) Polruan say of Fowey, "They're the money side, we're the sunny side!". So glad you enjoyed Kernow (Cornwall).

    3. Cornwall is beautiful! We walked part of the Southwest Coastal Path, and also went to the Scilly Isles by helicopter, many years ago. So wonderful❤ thank you for this vlog❤

    4. Thanks for this lovely video – it brings back memories of enjoyable summer holidays in Cornwall! Our hotel manager wanted to know why so many German tourists visit that part of Britain. When I told him about Rosamund Pilcher he didn' t know who she was (although she was born in a nearby village called Leland). Apparently R. P. is less popular in England than in Germany.
They have a big choice of tasty ice creams in Cornwall!

    5. Lots of stuff has been filmed in Charlestown, well, all over Cornwall such as Game Of Thrones, but Charlestown specifically was the place films like Alice in Wonderland, 3 Musketeers, the Jason Momoa series Frontier and many others, in fact IMDb has a list of 45 titles filmed in Charlestown, and 1016 filmed in Cornwall as a whole.

    6. Your videos are too short….I can sit and watch you two forever! Thank you for this journey, we visited this area about 7 yrs ago and just loved it. Mousehole and Looe as well. I absolutely love the tiny harbors and the houses that line them, so very charming. Keep the videos coming please!!

    7. Greetings…please excuse my ignorance…My hearing is not very good now, and try as I might, I am having a very hard time understanding the pronunciation of your husband's name. Is it pronounced YORG? I really enjoy your videos. We share many interests.

    8. Cornwall is so lovely, and their fish n chips must be amazing!!! I love your dresses Kirsten. You look beautiful in them. You both are so adorable together. May God bless your marriage.

    9. HI 👋👋👋ENGLAND with love from TBILISI GEORGIA! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪

    10. You are just so suited, you fit each other like gloves, so modest, yet sweet together, so into enjoying life even in the cold and rain. I love your videos, I only just discovered you and am already addicted. You are like two innocent kids, enjoying all the fun the playground of England can offer you both. And as for your English, well perfect. Hard to realise you are German. Lovely ice cream treat there! The fact that you manage to find all that great food does you both proud.

    11. Love Cornwall we try to visit at least twice a year, loved seeing your film and all the places we visit, did you know that the large house over the beach is were Dawn French lives (fowey)

    12. Just love Polperro, stayed there a week, many years ago and would go down to the harbour to meet the fishing boats in the morning, the nicest mackerel I have ever had…and am saying that 45 years later! Is such a magical place 🙂 though may well have changed a bit in all those years, probably a lot more touristy than it was back then.

    13. Yes. I agree. Cornwall is beautiful. Never been but with your videos I can live the moments with you guys !! PS: I’m so envious. Juergen can eat and eat and he keeps looking lean and healthy.

    14. Hi Kirsten&Joerg, thank you for all your beautiful videos, this one of Cornwell or stunning as I have often said, U2 were so relaxing to watch and listen to thank you for all your wonderful wonderful videos🎈🇺🇸🎈
