Romania is probably the wildest bicycle touring destination in Europe. 1 year after my last bicycle tour through Romania I return to this amazing country of mountains and monasteries. The Carpathian mountains are one of my favourite bicycle touring destinations, for its remoteness, wilderness and beautiful roads.

I managed to repair my broken tentpole in Slovakia and cycled through the Hungarian plains to the Romanian border. I did not always have the weather on my side in the Maramures region in the north of Romania, but I enjoyed a terrific day of hiking in the Ceahlău Massif in the eastern Carpathians. When it started snowing and temperatures dropped well-below freezing, I realised it was time to head further south. And so I went to Bulgaria and followed the Black Sea coast all the way to Turkey.

    1. Incredible adventure through the vast romanian lands 🙂
I, a fellow Romanian, am also planning a bike trip around the country this summer.
How much time did you spend on your jurney across our country?
And also, what is your opinion on the romanian roads? Do they seem dangerous?
When planning my route, I try to avoid roads which I know for sure are loaded with cars, but of course I also have decisions to make, where I am not sure whether it is safe anough to take the National Road from A to B, or I should take the smaller County Roads (Drum Judetean).
How did you choose your route?

    2. Your bicycle adventrure is more than amazing! Myself, I'm planing to cycle from Athens to the Nordkap in 2022. I can learn much in your videos for my own trip I think 😀

    3. Very nice video, but were you aware you only filmed in 360p? The quality in many places was not that good. Did you not realise? I kept checking image quality on YT thinking they had down scaled it, but no, it must have been your filming by accident.

Romania is a country I would love to visit. Some of it looks magical.

Good call on recognising you were suffering from altitude sickness and turning around to go down. I am guessing that worked to reverse your symptoms?

      ATB.

    4. Stunning footage and great commentary. Bravo! One thing I miss is that you don't seem to have included the people you met. That's one of my favorite things about touring videos is seeing the reactions of–and interactions with–the people you meet. Scenery is lovely, but people are truly crazy and amazing 😉

    5. I am so pleased I found your channel. Romania & Bulgaria are truly beautiful countries, thank you for sharing your journey. I never contemplated touring there, but your travels have made it somewhere I need to visit. Thank you 🙏🏼

    6. Young friend. I watched already some of your videos. You are great video editor and your videos are big success.
But as a 30 years daily cyclist, And 20 years touring cyclist, I advise you with all my heart: Please use helmet while you are cycling.

    7. Buddy you need to learn lighting for your clips.
      Especially ‚shadows and highlights.‘
Your clips are usually way too dark. In most cases you could let the highlights blow out and let the shadows lighten up. In other words: when your skies are white, we can see your face and the forest and so on….
