Look at this Sunshine so I think the season is about to really kick off um getting close to EAS and we’ve said it previously where we sort of thought that it might be cuz Easter’s early this year and it might just really go mad just as

We get close to Easter and then everyone s going actually we want the van ready for Easter and that’s exactly what has happened unfortunately so uh we’ve been selling quite sales are picking up now picking back up ready for the season uh probably still not quite as strong as

What I’d really really like um but it’s the first real sort of week this week I think with the sun it doesn’t matter where I go the sun’s in my eyes so and we’re going to have a look what has come in over this last week what has been

Sold and we’ve got some over at Garden Village as well so we’re going to nip over there in a minute as well but we had the Sprite Quattro uh FB that came in so that’s gone that quick yeah that was within a week I think um she did a

Little sign actually to say sold within a week have a look at this and I said don’t yeah now let’s just put sold in the window um it’s we’re not yeah I think she got carried away um which was a nice thought sold in less than one week but

Uh I just like to i’ just like to see sold uh I don’t I don’t like all that sort of yeah um so the Phoenix has gone uh obviously The Pursuit that’s been um we’ve just been servicing and what have you and they don’t want that till April

So that’s waiting to go couple of new ones that have coming so we’ve got a little little cracker a little sprite Alpine uh Force this is a nice little lightweight van so this is just come in I think we looked at the Ultima before but we’ve moved it we’ve been moving

Things around this hasn’t been cleaned again as yet it’s 2008 little lightweight fixed bed van so 1220 kilos this wow that is L you could you van isn’t it yeah you could tow this with your bicycle ,2 and that’s maximum weight of 1220 uh 990 as it stands here

Now so I don’t expect this to last long it’s got a couple of extras that have been left by the previous owner as well so man is it it’s a cracker um really really good8 6995 I couldn’t even yeah I can’t believe the price um so again sort of we

Did our Swift x850 and we’re sort of saying about how prices have come down again it’s got a motor mover as well I think there might be a little Awning in there as well so the little Ultima that was a little two birth that that come in

The other week I think we had a quick look in that um you can see we’re a little bit behind on our cleaning of the outside so hopefully this week with the nicer weather now we can start to try and get back on top of the outside cleanings uh big Bailey approach motor

Own that’s gone um that yeah that was that was really quick to go to be honest with you we’ve still got the little pageant at 3495 the little Spar repairs that got a little bit of damp in there and I think if yeah I think if this doesn’t um this

Doesn’t go in the next week or so we might well yeah well I don’t know we might just try and do the The Damp repair it literally just needs um it’s solid there um and then I think it might be the other side of the Wardrobe which

Is the issue but it just needs a panel putting in there that taking all out drying out and I thought that might be quite a good video to do um to show but it might be that we haven’t actually got time to do it and we have to just sell

This as it is as the spares repairs job because wouldn’t it dry out then that board cuz it doesn’t look marked it will it will dry out but it’s going to stay soft um and there’s a little bit here where um sort of actually you you you

Look at something you feel something it doesn’t feel so bad and always the customer goes oh no it’s just it’s just where I’ve washed it that’s why you’ve got a bit of a damp uh reading watch this little video clip coming up now of one that we had the same thing and we

Sort of said to the customer look it’s it’s rotten as a pair uh it doesn’t look bad but actually when you start digging everything all out it’s got to be St stri back completely reboarded um and it’s a big strip out job um so yeah that little Link’s

Popping up now when you’re doing a damp check and the customer says no no it’s it’s just from where I’ve washed it those little few readings that you’ve got really really have a look at that so once all the blinds have been removed start to reveal the actual wall boarding and getting it

Removed this is what we’re left with so that little bit of water that must have come in from when I washed it that’s the actual Real Results when we start stripping it back and this is why sometimes when we’ll say to a customer that chances

Are it’s uh it’s been in a barn and it starts to dry out for for six months but when we start to rip it back it’s going to be a lot bigger job than what you actually think and that’s what it then turns into so this is going to end up being

Well we pretty much knew anyway is going to be a complete complete strip down at the front end um but that’s pretty much and look at the wall boarding um and you’d say it was absolutely perfect there’s a couple of soft spots obviously behind all the blinds um we were pretty sure it

Was rotten as a pair it was very very soft in between sort of where we could feel in between the blinds um but the other areas that looked okay that’s actually what we’ve got and we’ve got a lot of dry rot behind there so even though it felt okay

We actually start removing the boarding you see the whole lot just has to be replaced but really if you were to buy it yourself as long as it’s not leaking it doesn’t look doesn’t look awful there’s no Mar really no um so just just literally it’s been sealed up um so it’s

Not going to get any worse but it’s not going to get any better anytime soon realistic The Way Forward would you to cut that out and as I say that little video there that just popped up um the customer thought that it was absolutely perfect fine it was just from where he’

He’ washed it off um but it had been leaking for a while and all the boarding literally it was just it was just mashed potato um mash potato the problem is for us to fix that sort of a thing I think that front end you could you’re going to

Be probably sort of about 1,500 to two grand uh um in and most of that is labor time the actual boarding is dead cheap um the wall boarding for that is probably 80 quid at Absolute most even with deliverying everything but it’s the labor time to strip it all out drying it

All out and actually fixing it and that’s that’s where it gets expensive especially yeah around like obviously all that front window section um on the other one where we’ve got to strip all that out all the blinds are got to come out all the window rubbers are got to

Come out um part of the wood framing has got to come out so it turns into a massive job um and we’re just about to hopefully um depending on how things go this week start a little bit of a self build project which we’re going to um do

A little bit of an update on now and again so look out for that we might have some more video when we’re over at Garden Village a bit more information on that um so let’s uh there is a few other new ones I think we’ve got the x850

Which we did a separate video on as I say um but let’s go over to garden village and have a look what is going on over there and then we’ll have a look at what we’re actually going to do on our Sunday video as well so we’re back over

At Garden Village um so we’re going to have a look at some new bits that have coming um have us see what is going on uh couple of dealers had sort of gone into Administration so we’ll have a little chat about that and that was sort

Of last Friday so we’ve got a nice little sprite alone we’re going to probably look in that on Sunday’s video we’re going to chat about Sunday’s video as well we’ve got the little Pursuit that we had a quick look in before we’ve got a loan Club that’s come in uh

Discovery D4 for we’ve moved that around a little bit still got that but it’s now not stuck in the corner and forgot about um and then there’s a couple of others that we’re going to look in as well so the uh as I say a couple of dealers went

Into Administration last Friday which was part of why would sort of said back in February about paying deposits on credit cards at the NEC um so hopefully if you bought a new Caravan and you bought from any of the the dealers that did go into Administration um you used a credit card

And and that has hopefully saved you um we’ve got an idea that it was going to happen but we couldn’t really turn around and say don’t go to these dealers cuz they’re going to go bused because that would have just definitely put the nail in the coffin um but they never got

Sort of recovered as such as a going concern but other companies now have purchased the the separate individual companies so I think there’s only Robinson’s at Chesterfield that is completely closed down so um but Chesterfield or Robinson’s at Workshop uh has been bought out with a

Company that we do a lot with so uh it might be something that we can sort of um work a bit more with cuz they’re a little bit closer than um the other company that is a bit further away so um but Chester well I believe no I because

This was sort of a that what a lot of dealers were worrying about and what was sort of affecting price a little bit back end of last year and start of this year is within the industry everyone knew it was it was happening um and

There was a little bit of a worry that if all their stock comes to Market suddenly that could sort of Drive prices down a little bit and that sort of has affected why prices moved quite suddenly and quite drastically last year yet there’s been a bit of a Slowdown um but

That had things to do with it but um I believe and I’m not 100% sure because I’ve not spoken to my friend um since he sort of bought the one company but I believe um that all the stock from Chesterfield has already been purchased

And he going to move to one of the other branches so it’s not actually going to enter the market as such there there’s a dealer gone in just gone right we’ll buy all the stock we’ll take on some of the stuff and we’re just going to move it

All to one of the other branches so um that’s what’s happened I believe to Chesterfield so but all the other ones as I said the only one that I don’t know about is Lincoln Leisure uh I think it was Lincoln Leisure or another another one up in Lincoln um so I don’t know

What’s happened there I’ve not I’ve not seen anything about that and I’ve not spoken to anybody about that either so um we looked in this uh briefly when it first came into a great great family van um things are starting to pick up again now so it’s March has been a little bit

Slower and I think the weather’s just been rubbish but the amount of people that are actually I’m quite surprised that people are going away early uh I thought it might have been more next week that people started to go away but our storage yard is is looking really

Really bad people are just in and out already um so I think the roads are going to be very busy um and Sunday’s video I was hoping to do sort of getting ready to go away but people seem to already be going away so uh that it’s

Still going to be on that basis um but it might just be that people are actually already sort of going away so but that’s what’s coming up Sunday so this is obviously one that we looked in um we’re going to look in the Luna Clubman SB that’s a nice f um you need

Yeah I need different I don’t like that SL let’s get rid of it you can jump out of there you can jump out of there um let’s move that um we sort of mentioned uh um when we’re over at gayy that we were hoping that at this part of the video cuz now

That was Tuesday that we did that part of the video this is now Thursday Thursday and I was hoping to have sort of announced our big build that we’re going to be doing um but it’s still not 100% confirmed yet so I’m I’m very very frustrated um should I say so basically

We’re going to try to do with a head in a moment a uh self build um sort of part camper um but it’s not it’s not really a camper but it’s going to be very much a camper and we’re going to be utilizing our bluetti our F AC 500 bluetti in that

And we’re going to use that and we’re going to show you we’re going to do parts of the build and sort of go through the build and we’re going to show you how we’re going to use different parts and how they those parts are going to be um incorporated into the

Build and the blue etti is going to be a big big part of that so um we’ll do once I’ve sort of confirmed and we’ve got the vehicle U which we sort of have but we haven’t uh if that makes any sense um so as soon as we’re

Going to have a bit more on that we’ll put that into the video might even sneak into somay video Touch wood um so this is the Luna Clubman SB single beds it’s just come in it’s $ 14995 it’s got the Aldi central heating uh it’s got the

Electric ring on there three gas Rings we got the fridge uh really nice clean tidy van isn’t it that that’s think I’ve ever seen this color scheme have you not no I don’t think I have yeah no and funny enough we sold this 18 months ago

Two years ago it’s just come back in party exchange for the it’s got that nice big yeah nice big sunroof so we have actually sold this in the past um so nice nice tidy event it’s been well looked after again the the previous couple had looked after that nicely uh

As I say we’ve got a Sprite Alpine 4 that’s come in um we’re going to um the big the big ones are now sort of picking up we’ve just sort of said about the Challenger X 850s think did we look in that on Tuesday at gay I think we did didn’t we

Um possibly so I yeah I think I think again I think I sort of said when we did that video by the time that video comes out that’s probably gone and sold um and I think the twin axles are now just starting to pick back up again so

Hopefully um things are turning over a little bit more and things are picking up and we just need this Sunshine now so um that’s about it for this week I’ve waffled on enough hopefully I can give you more information on the Sunday video um and hopefully that exciting bit of

News and we’re going to look at getting the Caravan sort of and going away uh some really important checks so don’t miss that hit the Subscribe button hit the like button um and don’t forget to drop us a comment hopefully you’ve enjoyed this week’s bit of a a catch up

And update we’ll see you on Sunday thanks for watching on Mark at the Caravan Place

    1. Our pageant Bordeaux went round the toilet and we had that sorted and the guy we used did such a good job that we couldn't tell. It also went around the windows. No point in having that done it wasn't worth it. We kept it a couple of years then traded it in.

    2. Robinsons were established about sixty years ago by the Robinson family (who also had the branch in Worksop). Both firms were bought out about three years ago by I believe MBH Corporation, which went into liquidation last week. The Worksop branch has been bought by Storebon Holdings Ltd (part of the Couplands Caravan Group. (according to the Derbyshire Times).

    3. I was really fancying a caravan but between yourself and Atlantic caravans (he often mentions you!) the amount of vans with bad damp especially Swift and the floors in the Bailey's is scaring me stiff 😂

    4. Yes please a video of the damp repair would be good if you decide to repair it, if so then it would make a good long video as I think it could get more views then any of your other vids.

Good to see you still turn your stock around Mark, all the best

    5. I would NEVER BUY A BAILEY caravan AGAIN, as they leak like a sieve. and that was from brand NEW in 2008 only lasted for 6 years it was scrapped as it was costing to much to keep on the road. And the dealer at the time said this was happing all the time with Baileys. And it was going to cost him to much to fix, Bailey caravans don’t care, we had it serviced all the time I really looked after the caravan it was stored under cover at are home address , things replaced under warranty each year started leaking year after, in the end everything that was replaced needed to be replaced again, water leaking from all windows all four corner tops the main window at the front had pools of water every winter from new in till the end. Caravan makers should be made responsible just like the car market.
