Bike Shed motorcycle company in Shoreditch London England Europe 2024 March
motorcycles arriving and leaving for those not delighted by being filmed arriving and leaving my humble heartfelt apologies. if I detect a person is not content being filmed I do pick that up and don’t film.
it’s late in the evening and winter has still had its cold hands on our shoulders and around our necks. We have missed Jack Frost and his hidden kisses on the black tarmac of the city streets.
To make life interesting when it rains hard are memories are tested can we truly remember where all those pot holes are hidden?
The wind has that refreshing bite you get when you open the freezer door in the grocery store when you go buy to buy a new carton of ice cream.
Shoreditch is bustling center of bars restaurants and nightlife with young and old intent on having a good time. it’s all very polite and genial, safe is the word that springs to mind, there’s a general positive vibe about the area.
The South East of England is built on chalk soil, and market gardens some now turned into business estates with houses with mock facades giving a faintest nod to the past. With relative easy access to the coastline there’s plenty of small and not so small coastal towns to explore all within a hour or two away.
Canterbury, Herne bay, Wye Down, Farthing Common, Monks Horton, Hythe where the miniature railway and canal runs side by side, or the narrow strip of pebble beach at Sandgate, Broadstairs or Ramsgate or Pegwell bay and a Viking ship on top of hill. These are all possibilities for curious explorer with half a day or more sunshine to fill with memories from the bike shed.
Many of Bike Shed clients are motorcyclists from the rural coast lines of English channel. All with dutifully charged up GPS and wrapped in the latest and best of motorcycle clothing.
I do feel like a tramp sometimes I rather prefer to wear everyday clothes and sling a wind cheater on top. So many years of touring Asia have taught me to travel light and if the weather is particularly rotten chill and grab a coffee and from some dry cafe door way watch others do battle in the pouring rain on their motorbikes big and small.
if motorcycles aren’t for you there’s scooters cafe in Waterloo and just outside their front door is a highly competitive street food market.
There’s also a rather jolly scooter/mod/scooter/clothing/music shop in Camden Market. I usually park in one of those large grocery carparks. The local parking attendants have a built in sixth sense and can spot an illegal parked vehicle in seconds.
costly my friends ask me how I know.
today in modern Britain the over 50’s have 80% of the wealth. They also have 60% of the savings and 40% of the disposable income. Harley Davidson devote their business model at this age group and have done for generations.
the Bike Shed Shoreditch London appeals to the office work, the tourist, the earnest young couple on a first date. Being surrounded by business offices and shops. In the evening the young are meeting up and sampling the delights of the nightlife.
On weekends it’s not unusual to see our European cousins arrive and depart. Solo or with a friend usually on BMW I must compliment them on their conversational English, bravo
The food in the restaurant is a good I have years of experience of working in hotels and restaurants in the kitchen and the busy vibe and general hum of conversation tend to agree
there’s an outside seating area which is just perfect for smokers. you can have a meal and your favorite cigarette in good company
There some outside heaters if it gets cold
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable
in the north of London on the A406 near the A 40 junction is Ace Cafe I think Ace can trace their roots back to the stone age. There’s an event page so if your visiting maybe plan to visit when they are hosting an event. This could a car, scooter, motorcycle event it’s petrol head venue.
There’s a bus stop right out the venue so if use a mix of tube and bus that’s a super convenient way to convenient way to visit if your on foot. use the transport for London app from the Google play store.
