    Hello and welcome to the episode I’m Nick I’m Joe and today we are on a pair of Hondas again and I’m on the NC 750x DCT I’m back on the nx500 as regular viewers know I owned NC 750x a 2020 model for 18 months longest bike I’ve ever owned it long awaited for

    Demo you’ve been requesting it for literally years now and I’m finally on a DCT and we are at CJ balls in Norwich in the previous episode episode 7 this is now episode8 we went to Yamaha uh Jody liked the mto7 and I love the mto9 but realistically it’s a

    Lot of money lovely bike put some on the face most of the video was me screaming like a little girl because I enjoyed it that much but yeah they are uh they are pricey pricey so we’re looking realistically we because in the future which is not so far away we want to do

    Some trips around England and I just don’t think an mto9 would be great and these these bikes do it all and they’re very very good on fuel as well they’re great bikes yeah we we’re not going to be able to SP all ourselves with multiple bikes

    I kept I was trying to do the indicator and I was like bibbing again I left one on so what do you reckon on that then this is awesome but the DCT is brilliant I keep trying to grab the bloody clutch non-existent clutch I raved about the previous NC

    750x and this is much better so what are the differences not including the DCT part cuz obviously that’s going to be different styling is better the dash is different you got more room in the Frank the engine’s been a little bit more refined and they’ve got a little bit more

    Horsepower and less weight as well this is a brand spanking new model new tires new brakes has only done 24 miles so I’m going to take it a bit easy you have been spoiled this morning it’s just a great bike to get on with I’ve remembered say else that’s

    Different what it’s lower which means I can actually have a go that cuz the other one was taller was it yes the previous one was 830 mm and this one is 800 mm yeah this I mean for me this is the difference I don’t feel as confident on tall bikes

    Like I’m very tiptoe on this so you’re not jelling with that I mean it’s nice when I’m riding along the lby up here you’ll see it it’s got a big p on it going to pull in but we are in standard mode got rer modes oh can

    Press D in it it’s ready to go then you can twist and go and when you come to a stop press neutral like I didn’t well every time you come to like if you’re stopping in traffic you’re do it neutral no when you want to put the stand down I

    See they look um I mean I don’t know why I thought they’d look similar I suppose cuz they’re a similary bike but they look very different front on don’t they yeah they do I prefer the look of the NC they are yeah which I never thought I’d

    Say that because I I mean your bike was nice when you had it but I always thought I wouldn’t want one of them but this does look better though this version it does it does look much better right so this has got 69 newm of torque 57 brake horsepower it does about

    70 to 180 MP gallon it’s a bloody amazing a it yeah 14 L tank and that’s got a 217 M tank range and you got that frunk as well oh shopping yep massive storage that you can put your helmet in shopping low centeral gravity the engine’s right at the bottom fuel tanks

    At the bottom it’s a heavy bike but it doesn’t feel it the DCT one is 224 kg sounds a lot but it ain’t too bad de how much is how heavy is the NX I could remember so the NX is 196 kg but it’s got a taller seat height 830 mm yes

    Which I certainly feel the difference of and that’s 800 so 30 cm uh 30 mm is quite a lot and he said silly Bly so the nx500 is 43 newm torque 47 brake horsepower and that does 60 to 70 MP gallon but it has got a tank range of

    254 because it’s got a bigger tank it’s got 17 1/2 liter tank whereas the NC has got a 14.1 L tank because you’re sacrificing for your snack storage you see yeah pros and cons really is it yeah but I mean when you like you were comparing earlier the um fuels fuels fuel

    Consumption on that to the uh m09 and it like the NC does like more than double yeah the mto9 it’s about 40 m per gallon so it’s a more expensive bike it’s 10 grand and it’s going to be every time we go out for a ride that’s going

    To be a lot of money and take that into consideration cuz we do go in the country a lot yeah so um yeah what we have got to take into consideration riding so we like to ride them and we they are cheaper to run yeah and these are nice bikes they not bad

    Bikes very good this is the dash on the uh nx500 it’s a lovely Dash yeah it’s very clear very clear it’s a shame that um NC ain’t got that oh no why have they not done that that looks really um oldfashioned is it yeah but don’t forget

    That Dash on the NC came out in 2021 this is this NX is a 2024 bike what’s this then what yes I know but they haven’t changed the model oh okay do you know what the swing arms better on the NX as well you in your swing arms ain’t being funny right the

    NX the NC is a fantastic bike but look at that swing arm what is that sticking out the back that bolt that’s where you adjust the chain but it’s just the Box section of metal is crap this is this looks like a nice aluminum it’s molded I think the nx500 is a better

    Bike you can get it lowered it’s got twin discs as well and upside down folks NC single disc and it’s got you know the basic folks I would say I did notice F the first thing on this that the suspension is quite firm you feel every single

    Bump well I’ve been getting used to that with trying the uh naked bikes it’s a tough one that they’re both really nice bikes I do like this I think I prefer this one so you’re going to have to go that one Ain you yeah I mean I’ve had an then see the

    Fantastic bikes had him had it for 18 months and this is something different I I’ve not had before so right let me have a little sit see yeah you look a bit more like confident on it because you can touch you’re almost flat foot it can’t you uh not

    Side to put the stand don’t worry about the stand no I mean like lean over just cuz my feet slip yeah so like I’m feel tip toe it I no sitting here it it’s all right but then when you’re stopping in traffic and you put your foot down it’s

    You really yeah oh my God I never thought i’ even say that obviously iin I weren’t going to Rave about it on camera because it’s not new to me I know how great they are I’ve been avoiding trying to get another one because I didn’t want to get the same

    Bike but I’m going around circles with the NC because it is such a great bike and you did have it for so long and that is saying something if I keep something more than 3 months this was 18 months I had the NC and this verion that’s out now is better

    Yeah I’d say this NX is good for short to long distances but I think the NC would do the Long Haul you could you could ride up Scotland you could do 200 miles in one go on that the reason I say that is cuz the gearbox is quite short and it’s

    A bit more Vi than the NC but it feels more Nimble this one okay do you think I felt quite Awkward on that but then that might be because I’m conscious of the height yeah I think it’s a confidence thing is it yeah they are really good bikes both of them really

    Really good bikes I know I say this every damn time but honestly are you are you honest this time cuz last time like oh I want one I’m going to put a deposit on it now mate if they weren’t shutting this was the mto7 in the previous episode I want it same as

    Me don’t get me wrong I’d love an M9 I want one if I had the money I’ll get one but I want to we want bikes that’s going to last a while that we want to do some trips on and I I think these bikes are

    The best for that yeah well the thing is right I think if I ever got a dctt I don’t think I’d ever not want to have it being gears are a bit old fashioned didn’t they yeah and as well like I do get cramp in

    My hand a lot yeah so I do struggle with that a bit I think Joe wants a DCT I do I want it you want it you want it you want it all I want them All and it’s the best on fuel that the best it’s very comfy like the seat it’s very comfy ah yes that is another Improvement yeah your seat was pen when it on your NC on my older one yeah the seat was horrible it was hard well hard man I

    Mean it weren’t too bad but it weren’t the best yeah this is a very nice Nimble machine see I feel like I could do that on the bikes we rode last week the kakis and well you could do this the Yamaha yeah cuz that’s what

    Made me say on the Z 650 I was doing not to the extreme you just did it but my own little version that’s what made me say I feel a lot more confident on it but on that I know I feel very stiff on that

    One so a rundown of all the bikes we tried what’s at the top of the list wellow about that well cuz last time it was the mto7 followed by the T 650 what is it now now you’ve rode the NC 750x DCT got to be the dctt man I mean i’

    I’ve got no shame in admitting I’m a lazy I want I want ease and I want Comfort what’s what’s the reason you brought that cuz I’m a lazy that is a a lazy right because you got the frun it’s got less maintenance the valves are easy to

    Adjust you barely have to stop for fuel fill-ups yeah right up my street it is the DCT that’s really sold it for you is it yeah but then imagine trying to Rebel DCT would you feel the same no so so the position of this spike

    Is part of it as well isn’t it yeah 100% the position in and the Comfort like the rebel I just was not comfy at all to me yeah DCT is a bit special isn’t it yeah it’s a bit special in a good way can I have a go

    No oh I would have more of a go cuz I might consider one please where we going to stop just a lay by up here you know with a burger van oh yeah I want it back the reason I’m like is cuz I really don’t I’m not jelling with

    That NX at all you know no that is fair enough not that it’s a bad bike I think it’s a confidence issue with you in it it’s quite tall for you yeah it’s the high I’m not loving you can get it lowered but you sit on top of this bike whereas you see

    You sit in it yeah and I do prefer I’ve discovered to in it and it makes you feel more connected with a bike yeah when you think you went for the scram I went for the Himalayan you sit in the Himalayan yeah you do and you sit on the

    Scram so it’s just my preference that’s what I loved about my gs1200 you you sat you sit in that bike you feel I feel very perched on this yeah don’t make sure you leave me so I can actually get it up cuz it’s very um slopey there cuz I struggled to get

    The CL up are you in no not yet cuz I was going to scoot up behind you so we’re a bit closer that’s was a good position give me it back I want it do you you know what happen babe didn’t you we lost thinging we headset just went off

    Then hello what you say you know what happened didn’t you what we’ll buy one of these they’ll bring a 2025 model it’ll have a different swing arm and then and it’ll have that Dash I done this last time I bought the 2020 version year later they bring out this version

    That’s right I’ll get that this year then you get the other one I’m waiting mate I don’t care about a swing arm I mean yeah it’s a bit fugly but I mean how much do I stare at that that’s got a lovely chunky Tire

    Deck it out with accessories heat grips on that one too yeah obviously hes hes heat grips are nice yeah I thought it’s lovely having um a low seat light yeah that was nice it’s a tough one for me I just don’t know what I prefer the

    2. NC = nice, sensible, practical, economical, built beautifully, comfortable, high tech and priced well. Every reason to buy one really, but I can’t help feeling it’s dull!
      That thing that you were saying about how a bike makes you feel is SO important (to me too!). You are never going to look back as you walk away from it are you! Hehe..
      The Yams were the other extreme, but prob not an ideal all-rounder.
      By the way, I’m loving these vids! 😅

    3. Bought my 23 geared model nc last year, Nick and Jo, after watching you ride your old nc.. so it's good to see you test riding the 24 bike.. It's the Swiss army knife of motorbikes, l have upgraded the screen to a puig touring screen the bike is almost a perfect bike for me now… all the best

    4. I'm looking to buy used so I think the NC is better for me than CB500X. I don't like inverse LCD but i can change the polarising filter if needed to fix that. DCT looks amazing, nobody says it works badly even if they don't like the idea

    5. The NC is in desperate need of some Honda love to upgrade the forks, swing arm brakes, dash, self cancelling indicators, in the same way that the Forza 750 and x-adv 750 have and in how a number of smaller bikes have. The problem is if they actually made the NC the bike it should be they would never sell some of the others in the range. The NC has just been left to act as the commuter bike.

    7. Got a new NC DCT after having the cb500x for 7 years which I loved. Only done a couple of hundred miles on it so far and it's easier to ride than the CB was and yes you can change the modes on the fly but you need to back the the throttle off completely.

    8. My 1999 Honda CB500S has larger tank, less weight, lower seat and more power than both these models. Can you call that progress in 25 years ?

    9. I have had my 2019 NC750X from new and love it. I have thought about getting a new DCT version, but i think I would need a colour tft, cruise control and an upgraded swingarm to do so. That swingarm (it's the same on mine) has no business being on this bike. Really lets the model down imho!

    11. DCT on prev. models of NC750s was not a good thing on longer stretches – the throttle hand got numb – there was no clutch to squeeze, to "glide" the bike – to shake the hand off…. , because, the second you are off the throttle – bike was slowing down = DANGER !
      Have you noticed ( I too did try this bike, but don't remember ) – is it otherwise with the NEW NC750 DCT ?? – does it glide, or also start slowing down – when u're off the throttle ?

    12. An annoying thing that pisses me off, with Hondas' bikes is – the crappiest ever front lights. Cheap Chinese scooters / bikes have much better front light, and it has nothing to do with any regulations. Even on my old MT07 the front light was many times better !
      SAME shitty lights were on my CB500X 2018….NC750X 2019…..CB500X 2023…..
      And notice one more IDIOTIC thing : the inflating valves on these bikes – on the NC, with a single brake disc – it is BENT, while the access is, anyway, easy from the empty side…. On the NX500 – with 2x front brake discs – the valve is STRAIGHT – while the access is, pretty crappy on both sides !!! Obviously NO ONE notices these things, before they need to inflate the wheels ! 😆😆
      I am, pretty much, convinced – those Honda engineers DO SMOKE some "good" stuff 🤢🤢

    14. Hahaha – so I message you about the Tracer 700 and the NC750X – then I open YouTube and find this video!! Love it!! So tempted with that tracer I showed you but as you said the NC750X is a bargain!
