Welcome back to the lon Rouge cycling podcast presented by join cycling for the last of our double headers parin and Toro Adriatica wrapping up today really exciting stage in parin and a Sprint stage in Toro adriatico so we’ll start with the main course Parry n to remind

You of the GC position going into the stage uh brand mcel had a 4C lead ahead of his compatriot Mato jensson on VI M Lisa like Shel MOA was in third on 35 seconds 1 second ahead of rcool in fourth papasaurus was in fifth on jco

Lula on 47 seconds rogich in sixth on 121 so a big gap from fifth to sixth and also probably in Ambitions from fourth to downwards because realistically the three people or four people that could win this race were mcnalty Jenson SCH M and A aul and yes

We we’ll talk about the rest of the top 10 later but this uh before we get into the stage profile Benji it’s almost having that 4 second lead’s almost like a horrible lead Benji going into this stage because it on one bonus Sprint you can be gone yeah for certain and on one

End you can also say okay being in the lead for a chaotic stage like this not ideal cuz your team might have to clean up a lot of stuff that happens right as that try and get in a breakway out or closing G stuff like that but on the opposite of

That I also feel like there’s so many people close in GC that have an active chance of winning this race that UAE might not have to solve that all by themselves at the start so I would have expect vizmo to try and make sure no quickstep rid is getting the breakway a

Quickstep rider maybe hoping a visar rider doesn’t get in there stuff like that so it in my head it wouldn’t have to all come down to UAE in that breakway formation but like you said like we said a few times already this last barin stage every single year is pretty much a

Banger so I was hoping for something here today that uh would be early action once again and let’s just say the early action did not do we do the profile no we didn’t yet all we’ll do the profile 110k from n to n they go do a lap around

The northern uh Back Country Roads uh in that region uh 1 2 3 4 5 6 congrats I can count today six categorized clim uh mostly category well three cat 2os two cat 1es uh they’re all the first three for brevity 6K 5% no flat literally no flat in between them uh

Then there’s a another longer descent before the Cod to p uh 6.5k 7% the longest climb of the day that’s where vanart will push a heavy pace for rogl and reduced it to Five Guys with Danny Daniel Felipe in 22 my memory serves me correctly bit of a ridge line L B kicker

Uh after that then an intermediate Sprint at the end of the cues there’s about a million different ways up cues and they’re all called the same should be illegal uh 1.6k is 99.1% and then another descent into town before they do the C sh out of town uh

3.8 8.1% for a descent into the prominade desong in N so brutal stage and yes Benji what was uh precoverage the action looking like well we expected early action we hope for early action and let’s just say the breakway formation was already fun because there was quite a long breakway formation

Phase cuz it happened in multiple phases we get to that first climb like you mentioned called de 108 kilm to go so very early in the stage since a very s short stage multiple attacks including Victor compard of Lotto Lawrence Biffy Johan yobs those three wi is trying to

Get in a breakaway and eventually on that first climb this leads to compard going solo because he ends up dropping yanako ups and Lawrence Biffy so solo ride from that point on was for comparts but behind people weren’t sitting still there we saw action along the lines of a

Break away that became a chasing group behind comparts loud on the plus for inos so I like that inos trying to cook something up as in trying to put a rider ahead so that maybe he can help out better in a later phase of the stage a s

Loud rider for them fa will bow for bahin also in here maybe the same question maybe the same idea that they have maybe a stage win but also maybe as a sat out rider for Santi Bago in this stage also not impossible Guerero Barta yobs moar atiella scaroni for

Aana pasher for grama armir for deaon is air it’s rainy on this kind of stage I dig it for confid this your man for uh fora in this breakway too has been pretty good in the early phases of this year and Harry Sweeney for EF and the most important

Factor of the Breakaway has not been named yet because that comes into play now which is another Rider that attacks behind and bridges towards that chasing group that is Miss pison from the pellaton eventually links up with that group and man that was a brutal attack

And also a very valuable Rider to bee for scal in this stage but talking about brutal attacks do you expect to brutally attack me on the FL challenge next week I do in fact yeah I’ve been doing really well yeah I mean I’m not going to lie to

You I’m not going to do the old a no I got bad legs remember the what’s the r glit what was the RO with enrik M he like pretend he had leg cramps in the Welter and then they have like a ramp at the end just cook everybody put the

Turbo on um no I’m not going to do that to you Benji when when we’re coming up to the coffen BG it’s all GL the gloves are off I’ll just try to stay upright that’s my goal on the C I don’t care about you attack I’m trying to stay alive I’m also trying

Not to crash I also have a special I have a special outfit a throwback outfit I’ll be wearing one of the days oh no that uh you’ll probably enjoy uh from uh it’s fish related he’s a former so anyway uh I’ve been that’s a long way of

Saying I’ve been doing the joint cycling Classics program I penciled it in well not penciled it’s on it’s it’s a mobile application so it’s a bit more digital than penciling it in but you know what I mean I put in the details of the rides

We’re doing I set the date how long I have it’s about 6 seven weeks ago in the app Classics training program how much elevation there is bang spat me spat it out put in my availability per week My Level about intermediate maybe a little bit generous to myself but it’s

About right intermediate and it was perfect like the sessions were hard but always like doable CU mentally I can’t with with covering the race every day with other stuff I can’t every day literally just cook myself doing super intense intervals yeah that’s dangerous whatsoever so uh The Joint

Cycling plan really made sense and there was intervals that even replicated what I think we’re going to be doing next week so if you want to check out the join cycling app there’s a 30-day free trial available for lrcp listeners no credit card required and then you get a six-month discounted uh subscription

After that 30 days has expired and we’ll see the proof will be in the pudding next week will I get around the course fine I’m really happy about where I am in a good place with it so uh I’d encourage you all to check it out if you

Have a goal you want to prepare for uh coming up maybe the end of spring or summer is just around the corner even though there was 50 cm of snow outside my house today I’ll be using it to try and get a better time on C orino when I

Come to your place for uh for the jro I reckon I should I was it 123 or something my time or 131 my time last time I can do that by I want to beat That by 15 minutes if you do the stamina plan or the thresh or the FTP plan

There’s a few plans that really um sued that but uh yeah I’d encourage you all to check it out various plans for different goals like that uh 1 hour climb versus Punchy Hills next week all right mads pedon clearly little Trek were up to something in Parry maybe they

Just wanted to be at the front certainly jensson and REM CCO and quickstep they wanted to be at the front for every descent because it’s wet it’s cold everyone’s tired it’s hectic there’s no flat and these downhills are really really tricky and we there’s a crash with 65k to go

Santi his second crash of the week this takes him out of the race completely very very unfortunate I really think he had the legs for a Podium here in GC jenas also crashes uh CR Rod was also down but I don’t know whether he finished the race but I know jenas and

Santi were gone exactly and that crash actually led to the split that happened afterwards or was said in his postr interview that the scrash led to the pellaton splitting up could just also be because little TR was pushing it at the front and that split was actually pretty noticeable cuz little track pushing

Happened with I think Otto vard which credits I did not expect him to be there if it’s him cuz if it’s him that’s a hell of a performance split into descend which means that the front part of the pellaton includes PR hard km MOA rage vazov Jenson kelderman if I recall

Then aapol gr shner MCN plap and Chris Harper I think that’s all of them might have missed one left or right but I think it’s important to mention here that who’s not here G was not there because whenever something happen in a descend he’s never made desent split in

His life he can’t do it whether even if his life depends on it so he’s always behind in a descend bernau was behind as well I think yeah he was and then every Ram Cod on M which is not ideal if you want to blow up a climb later in the R

So from that point onwards Remco completely isolated not sure if they tried to put any of their domestiques in the breakway at the start of the stage I didn’t see the the breakway formation in the broadcast if they did and Vima blocked them from doing that then fine

Otherwise I would have probably seen that as an idea to get them ahead before this [ __ ] can occur later in the stage but hey we’ve got that action we’ve got that little track pushing in it all comes into play now yeah because who’s in the group ahead yes compard is still

Running ahead in G1 second group still a chasing group but with MES Peterson and when they catch mes Pon only called the B Al which is an next climb with about if I had to guess about 55 60 kilm to go roughly when they catch Peterson that

Man turns into a a wild fad like super domestic right yeah although I’m somewhat surprising because on all the climbs this week skilos has not been the best on on the the bruise stage on the stage uh yesterday or the day before I can’t remember yeah the stage yesterday

Where RIT attacked schas were sliding so I was thinking they want to defend I mean good on them I guess they’re going for the win uh but by opening the race and making it so hard I don’t think it actually suited his Podium Ambitions versus Remco too much

I might agree against rco but I also feel in the opposite way that first of all I like that the team took it up and that they were hammering it and they they were trying everything to to turn this upside down because maybe scalos

Says okay I was here to try and win this race so I might as well try it on the last day even if it loses me my my chances to maybe get the podium here but on the other hand I started this stage watching saying okay I’m expecting M to

SC mosa the likelihood of ska puming depends on whether he can drop mcti for me yeah and they look about equal they’ve looked about equal this week so okay going to what was the GC gap before this stage between the two of them it was 40

Seconds or so and I’m not sure skos will look that much stronger but yeah good on them for trying but uh I’m not sure was the best thing for Shel Mery uh to be honest but listen without them maybe REM because Remco his team has been half the

Time this week or maybe over half the time nowhere like they’re off the back in a split now he’s got no one to launch cot toay I think he said after the stage that was his plan anyway so Trek basically fulfilled that function for him but there’s no one even to to Pace

Super hard on the base of the climb like Van Wilder to a 1 km really hard pull so he just attacks off Patterson’s pace uh once pretty early in the climb and he has Jenson in the wheel mnal is there skelo he like follows gradually he’s

Just going to try and H the group dynamics ahead he can come back gradually R not looking too good rco goes again this time Jorgenson’s really in the wheel nickn looking not looking too good stops again and I think is Jenson going to counter and then third

Time he goes all in on Cote and uh this time mnal can’t respond this before a left-and hair pin he Sprints Into The Hairpin then Sprints out and the two sprints kind of do for mcnalty and he never gets back onto the wheel Jorgenson

Goes uh even after he was taken a bit by surprise I think cuz he was in front of Remco in the in the train when gr shner W and Harper were pacing UA also Al made a Vine dropped really early today um so ala when it rains allergic still finish

Top 10 GC though that’s all that matters well how how far is he in the packing order last week then again he was sick in algar so maybe this is still a consequence of that if we play advocate of the devil maybe I can’t lose my Portuguese

Fans backward come on maybe uh and so basically mnal is trying to close it he’s hang on hanging on hang on but if we remember the other stages he kind of holds it and then really falls back on these climes and P is a lot longer than

The other climes they’ve done so far or attacked on blov attacks over him and he gets quickly across to Remco and jensson who are now relaying so now they’re relaying on the climb and this is there’s still we got two and a half serious climbs left yeah this is all over for mcnalty

Already at this point in the race what were you expecting in the post race interview from from vazov was he going to demand the tour to France leadership over RIT at this point no no I didn’t think so he he’s like quite in the interviews after the race he seemed

Quite uh yeah um tranquilo but uh but about that before we before we jump into the later phase does the the form that you see in rogich versus vazov change anything when it comes to your view on what should happen in the future with Bora Well yeah

If they both ride like this with vlasov much better than rogl in the next one we stage races I mean no not not yet I wouldn’t make any definitive conclusions yet R look terrible I think I think the tour of the France par doesn’t necessarily fit vazov but I would say

That Henley’s the number one man right now when it comes in better shap than both of them for the tour parkour yeah Henley’s leagues above um but I think the assum they’ll be hoping that this is not the best version of R st yet CU like

He’s he’s had a he’s had a few and that will kind of round off that point RIT at this point is kind of he’s he looks cooked he’s like getting dropped by everybody struggling to hang on losing the wheel on 6% he’s gesturing to the

Car he’s cold he’s putting a jack a Gile on rather deafly I might add he puts the Gile on in a wet descent in the wind easily and I was like others could take note from that uh but he looks really really could take note from yeah Henley

In fact um but yeah he he’s had collapses on this stage before but they were crash related and then his cracking on in 2022 he was still second on the stage yeah 25 seconds behind Simon Yates it wasn’t like this so uh obviously something’s

Gone wrong uh even if he was cold a lot of other RS were cold as well uh and yeah we focus on the the main GC battle now I was surprised renco pulled so much Benji at this point cuz he really the Gap to jensson right for him to win GC

The Gap to robson’s got to be with bonies in play 30 Seconds to to mcnalty sorry to mcnalty he’s got to he’s got to put 30 seconds into mcnalty and less into Jorgenson I was surprised because basically he and jensson relay and just RI this Gap open to like a minute and

He’s still pulling before CZ where the intermediate Sprint is and then they get to that kicker 1.6k 9% he pulls the whole climb were you surprised not to see put Jan in in front and say nal’s behind you haven’t taken any bonus seconds yet so you’re still virtually

Not the leader on GC with like actual time you pull on CZ so that you get the bonies and keep mcnalty behind I think there’s two sides to this first of all I feel like when it comes to Remco we’ve asked this question quite a few times

It’s usually in one day races that we ask this question where he always just keeps pulling and every now and then it does pay off the way drop Lo Sen in in the world championships the the way he’s Dro people before doing this has worked so maybe that incentivizes him in his

Head to keep doing this and seeing if that works against Jorgenson on a mountain like stage as well so I think it’s more that this is kind of the Remco way and he’s not stepping away from that whether it’s the best thing to do I’m

Not so sure about that but if we take a look at mattio Jorgenson here yes REM CO’s cooling just as much and Jorgenson is also like he’s also going to be like okay he magnol is now on a minute already we’ve got CZ to come

We’ve got K Shaman to come why am I pacing as much at the moment that that’s also a question you can ask you can also ask why am I pacing right now maybe I should play even more defensively at this point and and try and see if Remco

Just keeps pulling because that that’s a likelihood when it comes to Remco and then on C Shan maybe yeah there’s also that question obviously it it wasn’t necessarily necess towards the end but I asked the same question about both riders in the situation you know yeah just for CES I

For that was the one where I was like it didn’t make too much sense to me it then makes sense later so he rco Paces the whole of CES keeping that high Pace at this point they they’re just ripping this Gap open I don’t know if it went to

Two minutes or what like um big big gap to the group behind and over 130 and jensson attacks for the six bonus on top of there gaps Remco and and vlasov and and weights basically uh this point he could have gone clear I’m pretty sure because on the desense

Jensson was like Leaps and Bounds ahead of the other two jensson was definitely the best descender here but I just saw no response in rco as he didn’t respond at all so I was like okay they already reached an agreement first sign I’m not sure about an agreement I uh I don’t

Know but first sign for me that Remco doesn’t think he can drop Jan that that’s how I viewed that situation yeah and I I think so and from that point onwards I was like oh [ __ ] is he actually going to just ride to the Finish Line with jensson and try and go

For the stage win on one and I I could understand that in his head now after his attacked three times he saw that jensson responded relatively easily so far and SC that change on what sorry well and Jenson relayed on C toay when when mnal was he didn’t just

Sit in the wheel completely cooked he relayed and that’s probably a bad sign if you’re Remco that he feels good enough to relay so you’re right I think I think you’re right after Cote three big ones didn’t work I think he was thinking of stage win more at that point

Uh and that’s basically what happens because they get to the C Shar after The Descent jensson going so quick on that descent this wet descent knows every corner every inch of the road was gapping them on The Descent but Remco just goes into Chuchu mode and drops vlasov who wasn’t relaying maybe he

Should have pulled but probably not cuz he got hard dropped anyway really but he well cuz he with RIT so badly dropped at this point by the chase group vlasov is now the best placed VOR GC Rider and he he can move up GC positions ahead of the

Guys behind two things here I agree with Ira thing but on the other end I was also thinking why is skela pacing as much in group two because I was looking at that situation of yes plov could fight that Podium but I would try and get molti to try and close that because

If I’m scalos I want to try and draw mol on cther sh you know oh true yeah because at this point rco is yeah like rco has already got more than a second on schel mosa uh you’re right like it was odd to see schel mosa and mcnalty

Then relaying yeah when you think it’s really it’s mcnalty GC bid Going Up in Flames uh you’re right now that I think about it but at the time I didn’t I didn’t really put two and two together maybe they’re just trying to bring vlasov back and make sure he didn’t take position uh

Cat sh Reno Paces drops vlasov so really I don’t think vlasov could have paced I think he was on the limit anyway yeah he wouldn’t have made him go any quicker and uh on the first segment of K before Remco even dropped him I felt like he

Was getting gapped already even in the running towards it there was a moment where I felt like okay this man’s about to Paro on quat Shaman it wasn’t the Paro he was still pacing quite hard but you’re right and I I was I was I’ll be

Honest I was hoping we’d at least see one attack still from remu on C Shan because I don’t know man I would have I would have wanted to see at least one you know does that make sense cuz I can understand that he probably had already accepted the fact that he couldn’t drop

Jensson because he probably noticed in that moment that that was the case but I would have wanted to see a desperate move I mean you never know how a guy’s feeling but I think he had a pretty good incling that he wasn’t going to drop him

There and even if he did get a gap on the desent jenson’s going to come back or limit the losses cuz you can even feel like when they like they knew vov was cooked CU When you you go around a corner you accelerate into a steep section not attacking but you just look

Where the guy is is he right on the wheel and they knew vlov was was already giving giving space off the wheel so I think Remco just one of the stage uh and yeah they got they go on The Descent they you can see them talking

Remco says I’m not going to pull unless I win the stage I think or Worse to that effect and uh Jon starts celebrating knowing he’s not going to get attacked and they roll across the line Remco winning the stage very similar to Catalonia last year with uh vizar Ridder

Coming second in the stage not contesting the stage Victory but winning GC and uh Remco winning the stage finishing second in GC my point here though R Benji is call me rco yeah yeah I was going to call Remco maybe next week I’m not sure Jorgenson owed Remco anything for the stage

Win three times on pay and Jenson then relayed he didn’t just sit on I fully agree but I also think if they ride to the line the two of them on paper Remco wins the Sprint jensson is not a waste man when it comes to having a bit of a

Kick he’s shown some kick in in the UK too long he’s not a Wast man he’s not a London bus anyway when it comes to when it comes to that Sprint I kind of expect the r to Win It Anyway even cuz like you if he had done an

Extra attack if he would have tried all out 17 times or something maybe then I would have leaped towards Jorgenson but I think Adco would have gotten it anyway to be honest oh I mean Jenson could have attacked him on C shiman maybe but then rco wouldn’t wouldn’t the pace so yeah I

Can understand it but um but that’s why it’s a gift a gift is a is more meaningful when you don’t have to do it uh I don’t think Jenson was obliged by the in Unwritten rules of the race to gift the stage win is it a gift if

You’re not sure you’re going to win it anyway if it’s not yours on paper I disagree with calling it a gift I think it’s a gift because I think you’re could have put it into him on shmer I I don’t see that I think y was I think the idea that

Remco was much stronger than jensson in this race and tactically lost it is wrong I think jensson was as strong if not stronger than Remco this race based on what I saw I put them relatively equal yeah I I see percentages maybe in One Direction or the other but whether

He could have dropped them or not I don’t know but calling it a gift I wouldn’t I wouldn’t necessarily say because it wasn’t in Jorgenson’s hands for me okay if Jorgenson is the faster man going to I would have said sure it’s a gift but he’s not on paper fair enough

Fair enough you’re right Remco he’s in the flat Sprints is very very fast that being said he didn’t in this specific stage last year even on when he was on moar last already [ __ ] good he was second best Rider on the road maybe last year behind Pacha if

I recall correctly so to see him do this again on a stage that after last year fits him but then to be honest well he he wins GC here like he’s not done winning for this year he he’s [ __ ] good and they didn’t make obvious mistake at VI Malisa this race they both

Teams had bad luck when it comes to the Tom TR being in the rain so it’s not like Remco lost because of yeah I’m glad of that actually yeah imagine yeah imagine were in UAE slot then you know it would have been probably wouldn’t have been as close as it was yeah but

Yeah that’s the stage I’ll just do the stage results Remco wins ahead of jensson 52 Gap to vov on his own in third Shela leads Al mcnalty in fourth 139 back Bella I could have sworn it was scaron but I guess it was Bella I swear it was SC but maybe I’m

Wrong with stora gold Bernal so stora gold Bernal all come back pl’s the only one well not the only one PL hangs on with that group they’re on 213 uh even vaka who was on that split finish as well in 12th on the stage uh Almeida 13th on 307 with

Harper uh rogl finishes 17th on the 404 kelman crash in the Finish as well so I think he lost he didn’t lose his top 10 on GC though uh from what I can see uh how’s that possible mathematically I don’t know was in the last 3K yeah they gave him the last he

Was in the last 3K so he crashed running so he only lost 23 is this the shockman thing was it the same stage in parin 3 years ago 4 years ago oh no I think that was a no it wasn’t in nice when shman crashed it was an earlier stage oh okay

Um cuz on the stage like this sorry but there shouldn’t be any 3K rule on this there a 3K rule for this there a 3K rule is not a stage expected to be in a bunch Sprint it’s a flat finish I’m pretty sure but Jesus I

Even was was 3K ruled the in that VTA happy for willco he did he did right well this week uh Jon wins GC 30 seconds of aapol 147 ahead of mnal mnal holds on to third so two Americans on the podium schel mosa in fourth 222 so he loses the

Spot vov up to fifth 257 PL drops to sixth on 308 but I think I think he’ll be happy with that okay maybe he’s like oh if I put did a bit did X did y could I have taken another 11 seconds on vlasov I don’t know I think coming in

Top 10 for PL like that also he was just good all week you know like just there in G1 G2 thereabouts all week I think that’s this is his best GC performance in his pro career like by far not even close Bernal 403 tour this is this is so much better than

UAE tour even though he finished second or third thereal 7 403 one second head of kman in eighth uh kman fourth 3 no G 435 RIT 533 almea actually finishes at 11th 608 tahara completely falls out of GC he was good earlier in the week and Santi

Also crashed out which was a shame so um a very interesting p e Benji with a new winner and a rider in their first their first World Tour stage race for their new team first team that we mentioned a few times before the race started was a really good fit to the park

But to actually see him deliver it against Remco and Rit who on paper beforeand went to it with a Remco is the favorite going into the race RIT we both kind of weren’t sure what to expect with RIT at Bora this year and he comes into the race and is significantly worse than

Expected Remco I’d argue it was also worse than expected his level was not what you’d expect Remco to be at in this race compared to the others I would say because when you expect TCO in the in the discussion of the tour to France uh

Can he Podium can he win the Tour to France stuff like that he needs to be able to drop everybody in this race to do that to do podium in the Tour of France battle Yeah Yeah because could I imagine hinley attacking on Kat Shaman today with his current

Legs yes yeah I can and you know he’s he just finished second or third in Tano and there he and noo are going so there’s p pagach gets thrown in y so yeah it’s tough like jensson is not even vima’s last climbing domestique in the tour cies so the wild for our replacement

Yeah probably better to be honest yeah in the in the mountains better than last year for sure then2 is difficult 22 Yeah well was unbelievable allterrain vehicle but in the mountains I would say Json should be better so yep it’s looking tough but as it’s March and you might be

Right he’s not in his best best best shape and sure that tactical mistake was a thing yes he lost time towards jensson that day as a consequence of tactical decisions but I think the weakest thing when it comes to quickstep this week was one that I never really felt like they

Had a an allout plan except for today when they said Okay C the pay we’re going to do that and on the on the second last day but before that it felt like they were just kind of in it and seeing what happens and responding and okay it’s other teams

That need to do it and that kind of felt a bit me I was from the team I expect more than that I expect like a thorough plan of okay we’ve got this team we can attack there the problem was they barely really had that team this week I felt

Like katano wasn’t great their team was gone in two stages before they needed him and yes they were there on the easy Mountaintop finish on madon toel but katano wasn’t but verva was Von welder was but I also expected more from Von welder verva was was okay I’d say when

It comes to level on madon toel and on um on the stage Ro away with yeah today he was in chasing group right yeah yeah he finished on 303 he just was behind that split but uh yeah the the they just seem so desperate to make

Up all the time in one go and that allowed him to be counted where in fact he he could have approached this race RIT style and defensive and then played off others needing to gain time cuz he was winning every Sprint uphill or down or flat uh but then that and that’s what

I saw yesterday they tried to gain back a big chunk of time yesterday and then it ends up vlasov going away where rather than uh 500 met up he Sprint Take 5 seconds on the road take the bonus seconds and then you’re suddenly you’re 12 seconds

Back or 13 seconds closer and then today even today C I was surprised because I was like one big attack on CZ take the bonies you don’t have to win by much then ahead of Jorgenson now we’re talking a 10-second difference then you got bonies at the finish so uh I think

They tried to take the 40 seconds back in one chunk every time and it actually allowed him to get countered and the team was was not good enough Landon not being here was a a big big Miss but uh also oh Y without land missing they should be here better anyway in support

Of Remo this was not like this is not even to the France competition this is on paper the the B team of of vizo when it comes to the support for Jorgenson Jorgenson is the domestique in the to front Y is here with mnti almea who’s allergic to rain Vine who has been

Pretty weak this year as well sometimes also allergic to rain there’s just so much where I feel like okay this is the kind of teams where you should be better than this week yeah yeah I mean Jon was on a very good level like I’m not surprised when I

Looked at for sure when I saw his daughter on in omope and I was like oh when he got caught was he fading and then no he was pulling really really strong in omo before the bosberg and and before the mo and it’s just the fact the

Group behind just came back so fast he didn’t he wasn’t collapsing and his power was crazy then you look at his weight compared to W and Christoff look at the paren E parkour this year is suitable for him I was like he’s going to do well because he’s going really

Really well uh even as evidence from the classics races so um I can’t wait to see him in the upcoming Classics and at the tour as well what what next for joran syo Benji does this create an expectation we’ve spoken a lot about Remco American went winning uh I think

Landerson yeah someone else American one Parise uh but what what now for Json does his role need to change does he should he be leading a tour to Swiss instead of going to the do is a domistic what do you think firstly I want to say something else about a different

American saying why is Nelson po not a pares instead of Tano that’s question number one but when it comes to jensson he won one we RS now parin very important one we race I think throughout the season solid damn competition there this says something did I think it impossible for him not

Necessarily uh I was expecting him to do well but to be this strong I might might have expected him just a bit lower than that but towards the T France firstly his season is already successful whatever happens from this point onwards that’s number one CU winning Pines it’s already kind of what

You want now when it progression it’s one of the most PR what the second most prestigious onewe race behind the Doan historically but I think he is more ambitious when it comes to his being namti at dolphin or t France I’m okay with that to be honest like yeah he

Could go to T the Swiss yes the parkour could fit him I haven’t actually looked at it in depthly but usual mountains usual Swiss parkours have mountains and to TRS which in my head fits with jensson same counts for Roman D every now and then depending on whether you

Have the hilly variant or the the mountain plus TT variant of Roman D and so yeah I feel like yes he can win those races but I’m fine with him being combined in the in the in the visma team for the to FR cuz that’s more important

Important for the team he’s got his onewe race now let’s focus on getting vard at to the France Victory getting him in dolphan also means that he they get used to working together in that role when it comes to an actual GC situation so I think that’s good to have

That at least once before we get to to the Toto France when it comes to other goals in the future one day RAC is he’s still in it like it’s not impossible that isn’t Vima sending their bloody a team toes derlon according to the provisional start list of that Bloody

Race I’m like could win something like that can him J I don’t know no no he’s not doing this year they skipping to do D do okay uh like E3 there could be a situation where he could be ahead in the same way Asel like the love situation is

Repeatable so I think winning a classic is possible I think continuing winning one R races do I believe he can lead a ground tour for for Vima H he he could but he’s also 18 yeah yeah he’s also 180 so against vingard will be difficult to to show up

And be better anytime soon but he can lead an another ground tour Keon this week hasn’t looked that amazing so depends on the progression of Keon in the next few uh in the next few months what he shows at the jro he he definitely showed that he’s deservedly

In the spot that he is that he made some progression compared to last year which he was already good in like we mentioned when it comes to parin in the classics already I’m not sure how much better he is I think I I think people are going to

Go overboard with it like with and be like vimer to given this guy one extra w a kilo and that is just not true like it’s about it’s a few percentage also never missing a bid on having the right nutrition fueling strategy for the stage having the right clothing for the stage

Having the do around you yeah just when The Descent comes your third wheel for every you never miss a split because of a crash like it is things and then the network effect for Le in the classic so when you look at Jon’s raw numbers on

The stage eight last year he was flying but pogy was there but he was with Simon Yates who’s good he won the stage in 2022 and vingard he was with those two I know vingard wasn’t in best shape but I I don’t think people should go overboard

Saying he’s like gained one more per kilo it’s like a lot of small things and just never never having a major [ __ ] up as well and like I feel like we’ve had that discussion with a few eh because I swear the year before Laport joined Vima

He was already one of the best Riders on the pter b in in rvv if I recall correctly wasn’t he the second or third Rider going on on top of the pter B when should hit the fan like thring for example he he was [ __ ] good before he

He joined Vima yes he got better I don’t know it’s I think the environment breeds actually go better trining actually go better when you look at his Classics well he was good in tour FES before but in envelope and you look at him in other ones it’s more consistency like you see

You see that flash from jensson in in Oman on Green Mountain and in in that stage eight apparently it’s that flash of top level and then but then for the rest of the year okay he was he was good in the tour but he didn’t win a stage and I expect Jenson

For the rest of the year to carry to to repeat this level that’s the expectation um whereas and same with tratnik you know he’d be flying and then you might not see him for four months uh when he was on Bahrain Victorious but uh they’re already but they’re already good Riders

So let’s not ignore the fact that they also have the money to go and get some of the highly touted people I mean tring maybe not the most highly touted in his 30s jensson though 23y old 24y old anglophone GC Contender who can ride Classics highly talented writer um maybe

Someone scouted him and was was in there early I don’t know but um because they they figured it out the Jenson storyline I also find it pretty pretty interesting as in um the fact that he wrote letters to teams himself when he was younger to

To try and get in their team the fact that he tried to learn France when he when he did something for Des zer something like he he actively tried to proactively think about his future during the years where he was already trying to perform at his best for

Example last year what he did with mvar planning his own training camp stuff like that in addition to what the team was or wasn’t offering at that time that shows that you’re not only busy with your curent but also with your future as a rider and getting

Better and and trying to get better with every percentage that you got you know yeah you’re right and it’s you can’t live that way for the whole season you sort of preparing yourself on your own like that and it’s also a money thing like maybe Vima can afford to have more

People handing out bidons on a course during the tour to France than moar can or they have more people that can do that things like that it all it all makes a difference so I don’t I just don’t want to see people ragging on moar

Saying look what he can do on on Vis M Lisa bike I think that’s wrong um mother star gave him uh the opportunity to to develop uh with no pressure at all really gave him leadership at parenes and other major races in the classics

And so I think uh I just don’t want to see that I think more just celebrate jenson’s development and um I’m really ke to see what he can do for the rest of the year and you know he could even win the Tour of fla as this guy like he is

He is flying um because rco rco’s a good Rider and he was there with him every step of the way this week uh mnal give a bit of shout out to him as well because he did end up finishing third really like battling just [ __ ] battling

Every day to to hold back time he was also sick coming into the race didn’t know what his level would be like so really big shout out and kudos to mnal for holding on for a I dare say he’s uh I know he won cilia and I know he won

Valenciana but third in parin is a uh is a major race result for a GC Rider uh so congrats to him I would say that’s his his best will to a GC result uh on a quick scan uh shelo a good I don’t think he could have had much more and I

Already said PLA and Ja got to be very very happy with that start for him I think so as well and before we jump into too I must say that every single time this happens I feel like a a stage race with a with a GC stage as

Last stage feels like better closure to me than for example too where it’s a a Sprint in a bit of a circuit and be honest not the prettiest part of Italy cuz man that looked pretty uh pretty sad where they were finishing so you Geor shouldn’t do the jro because right now

If he did the jro what would he be third favorite I wouldn’t I don’t know man he’s going to call favorite it’s different three weeks you know it is different get out of here three times as long J to VTA double how about that now

On a serious note I I I just want to see him in that Twitter France wall in that wild for RO he he’s going to be good at that I’m how how do you assess as we move on to Tano where you just say Okay Janis wins

Terano Cliff Notes it’s a Sprint stage he wins Tano uh AO second hinley third like how do you compare these two races one has longer climbs others is a short jamack medium Mountain Fest like I don’t I’m just trying to think in my mind a Conor versus what J did like such

Different races probably have Jan in head but it’s the ground tour it’s just uh it’s interesting to think about and yeah going over to Tano Beni Sprint stage uh but oh yes before we it’s also like he’s quite skinny for his height right jensson but it’s also like it’s

Not like he’s going to lose another two three kilos I reckon from his previous GC weight at the height what is he a meter 85 90 whatever yeah it’s it’s historically that means I deal an imperial in height it’s like 63 62 63 is 190 if you know my brother’s 6’4

6’5 I’m 63 I’m five seven 58 in a good day okay I wonder what that will give on the cobbles next week I got a big ass so that’ll help um the yeah it’s I don’t know it’s like it’s really interesting and stuff to think about uh but T Ado San Beno Del

Toronto Benji already sled this area saying you didn’t like the look of it uh they go out into the hills to the to the west of the uh they’re obviously on the they’re on the eastern coast because we’ve raced from the West to the east

Coast race to the two Seas uh they do a Hill Zone about 66 km will they come back into town and do uh about 75 km doing laps of about five laps of the local circuit all on the flat on the coast it’s Italy so obviously no Crosswinds they’re illegal uh by un

Convention and uh I was hoping for a big break Benji because before the stage we had some sprinters out of there no beanie so inter Mar won’t Chase uh bouse dnf so maybe so Bahrain would get it merer during the stage was like no he pulled the plug zangler pulled the plug

So so we had a fair few that’s about four different teams who had an option on the Sprint who uh who weren’t going to help uh and eventually we did see a quite a good break away Benji yeah the m is in there again so he’s hoping that

That vizar doesn’t show up and say we want to win a Sprint stage now he said it again he stri title again yesterday said those who go for too much will get nothing I was like brother they won the stage and took another 30 seconds that doesn’t apply he’s [ __ ] a minute

Ahead on G and also in addition to that it’s clear that we’ve seen a change of culture when it comes to the onewe race when it comes to the ground tours that oh no it’s not a ground tour transition stage is it yeah but even in a ground tour

Transition stage we’ve had multiple days where we’re like okay this could be a breakaway stage but then Pacha is going to try and make this hard so we can get bonus seconds at the finish line so the barer the Breakaway Mountain transitions days guy their their playing field is

Reducing and you shouldn’t blame the GC teams for for trying to optimize their race and and give you a stage just be better like I’m a traditionalist as well like sometimes I like I don’t like to see gone for every stage when gc’s wrapped up like I do I don’t agree with

It um all the time but in a onewe race you can’t be like how dare the GC teams go for the stage win on the two mountain days on one on the queen stage like what what um they didn’t go for it on the other five but uh yeah sometimes I like when

It’s the second week of a jro I don’t I like I like the break where having a bit of a chance I mean that wasn’t a problem last year in the jro frankly next to the Mary Stein Houser Healy so strong Breakaway there Row in is freeing row on his birthday it’s

Pretty cool to see happy birthday Luke in good shape roow is in much better shape than last year are you saying that as confidently as when you said that t would do well in GC but he’s now 8 minutes behind before the stage to Berry let me down here I thought you

Know they take away his weapons seen time the train cat out of the bag he wasn’t as good as that all right that’s a breakway so we’ve got one two three four five six Riders Alon you little strik and Bora are controlling in the pellaton behind and that’s enough teams

To get it to his Sprint to be honest so we’re now 15 km before the Finish Line we see a crash by Richard kopas actually uh that was a h hit fell on his left looked whether he fell on his head or not I’m not sure I couldn’t tell whether

His head hit the ground or not but his shoulder seemed pretty hurt he was sitting up for a long well he was laying down for a bit then sitting up for a long time so let’s hope kapos is okay cuz I want to see him this year El

Haulon this is also the moment where the breakway gets caught is this his first year on E no second okay cuz he crashed at the first stage or he crashed m we never know and then en was like ban all three week races [ __ ] it also because like his rider is

Abandoned on the on the last Mountain day like Lopez back in the day so if you don’t have three weeks Lopez still finishes but on that point I’ve see feel like I’ve seen a lot of people going down hard crashing maybe finishing the stage or like oh they got up they’re

Okay and then for example like Michael Leonard said he crashed on Instagram and then Weeks Later found out he had a fracture somewhere and so is out and then FR also has a scaffo fracture yeah I think after getting back up so hopefully car cuz he went down hard you

Never know like we might hear later there could be issues so don’t can your chicken steal the hash but yeah it’s it’s not a good time of the season to crash 7K to go de caflon moves up keeping Beno Conor in a good position and we start seeing un very vividly at

The front then they kept it really strong at the front to be honest unx the entire time last 4K they were there then shler comes to the front and I’m like commentator saying timer I’m like what bloody team is he riding for these days 2 46.5 apparently so he’s facing at the

Front for like 10 seconds before he pulls off BTY comes to the front for 20 seconds pulls off anthon Mar is in the wheel of dad Alon stays on the second row risking being blocked in to be honest and then eventually with about 1.5k to go they start moving up on the

Right side of the road gets blocked in a little then eventually tries to come around again and at this point it’s Uno X on the left side of the road moar on the right side of the road Milan is in the wheel of Kon in the wheel of the unx

Riders on the left and I was thinking okay Milan’s in a good position Kon can drop him off I don’t expect Kristoff to to beat Milan here I don’t even remember who moar is here for is G here uh I got jimai and that’s it jimai so they were there

For no no no G C’s been there thereabouts but yeah I don’t wasn’t expecting Garcia CA to beat Milan here so I was like is philipson going to get into a position that matters or not and it all switches around when you know X train first of all there’s a moar Rider

At the front they go into a leftand corner Mo Star Rider moves behind won SK who goes into the corner very vividly Kristoff is in second position behind won SK but kind of he he’s expecting the moar Rider to come in between and what occurs afterwards W score gets a gap

Right yeah W score gets a gap I don’t know if it was planned from unex because I you don’t think so I’m going to give them I’m going to give them some credit I’m going to give them some accidental like this no I reckon it was delivered by

Kristoff I think I don’t think so I think he saw the Gap open and he was like [ __ ] I’m not closing that again no it’s a left right there’s no way they think in a normal Sprint Kristoff is going to beat Milan philipson without something crazy happening at this point even though he

Looked better today so I I don’t think they think that either but they go to the Sprint with Kristof anyway every time I know but they’re leading out I’m going to I’m going to say they did the okay I’ll allow you to say that worked

Uh well it did work in fact like uh V Gold goes up the road he gets a decent Gap and I thought he was going to win I really thought when V Gold because the Gap was big and he would have won but four Jonathan Milan closes it himself

Like 2/3 the way he brings everybody back himself to VAR gold he then pulls off looks for consone Kone then does an incredible pull I’m pretty sure I slandered the guy uh for the height difference between the two when they signed him but he does an incredible job

Here pulling back and and saves the Sprint for Milan gets back to VAR skull who’s a really really powerful guy uh Kristof season coming back he Sprints early pretty smart trying to get varus sk’s draft I think a really really smart move and he actually this is the best

Sprint Kristoff’s done in quite a while and uh yeah Milan jumps at the same time philipson jumped earlier from his wheel and Milan just beats everybody easily like philipson had no no answer he tried came into Milan Milan gave the Big D argue like he gave bie the other

Day yeah Milan you just can’t to the side anyway so I don’t know what off um yeah really really impressive looked like KD I think the most impressive part is not just the Sprint but the way he handled certain Warren skull being up the front yes conon is

The MVP for what he did but Milan was at the front of the group when Warren skill was there so he looks back and he’s like with his head like nodding consani to come to the front consani bursting to the front the fact that Milan did didn’t become impatient and start sprinting

Himself waited on conon to close the gap for him stuff like that that shows that he adapted in the Sprint then I think that’s more impressive to me than the speed which is also impressive you know yeah I think so because if he leads out the whole way and that’s what

Kristoff probably would have wanted him to do then maybe you have a different Sprint with people getting a perfect draft in your wheel but he wins his second turno stage this week ahead of Kristoff he did look much better shimai third beating philipson that’s that’s a surprise like philipson didn’t look

Himself I don’t know whether it was the crash earlier in the week or what but he did not look himself here Andel kovski fifth for coves capio vent lonardi Vini venini is not allowed to have a French name r Tano adriatico and come ninth between lonardi and zanello in 10th it

Seems wrong um it’s yeah it’s a strange top 10 it’s not the best I’ll be honest uh but also you got to make it through the one week and Milan I think very encouraging for little Tre that when they take him to the jro I think he

Already did this last year when did he win his Sprint stage let me guess let me guess let me guess St oh no second stage you had to ruin it didn’t you yeah yeah um but he looked good he looked really really good Milan and uh that

Signing is already paying off for them they’ve got three wins two World Tour wins on the on the board with him with an Italian and uh they got to take it in terms of GC no changes in the top 10 from what I can see vard wins GC 124

Ahead of AO 152 ahead of hindley deloro maintains fourth 220 okona 5ifth 224 irman 6th 225 K Brooks 310 camner e8th on 402 Pitcock 405 in ninth and Kevin vula on 424 Runing off to adriatico um it had the bigger Mountain stages in profiles uh but it was not probably as

Entertaining as parin with vingard just doing what he wanted on those two stages but he looks in good shape not much more to see looks in better shape than he did in parenes last year that’s for sure um not much too more to say about that and uh a

Uso AO looked really really good I would say this is his best onewe GC performance in his career I think that’s I think that’s fair to say one thing I do want to add is that I think we need to highlight how highlight how good Del Toro was this

Week and how how we can compare it to maybe the first years of Pacha when it comes to riding world to races and so for because if iall vividly throughout was it 2018 2019 Pro 2019 was his first year 18 I think year that he went to the

VTA ended up Podium uh the VTA but when it comes to one we races beforehand he ended up up winning amentur of California was against Hig Al Bennett not necessarily the mountain finish teams you right as you’d expect got six dulia Bas country Tre fouret tyano for me I’d

Put on I’d put on the same level as how pogacha started in World Tour uh 2018 you said 19 oh that was his oh yeah 19 um yeah pretty good pretty good I say this is better but also pagach was dealing with that’s the pre-2020 era where people couldn’t do any wats so

Like because if you look at ao’s wats it’ll be higher than what pogy did in 2019 earlier this time of the year but then in 2019 they weren’t going as fast so I’m talking deloro like oh yeah four yes iot I’m confused they got too many young talents it’s ridiculous

Um it’s better to me than pogach Char’s start in World Tour in 2019 obviously deloro is unlikely to win the VTA I would say oh Podium the VTA yeah we’ll see what R do we see what race he does next I’m curious too but it’s also different Riders you know I

Pacha was clearly GC Rider back then Del Toro I’m like yes he can do GC but he’s also not climbing with the best from the start of the climb he’s like he’s a very odd Rider I can’t place him man isn’t it crazy this time last year you look at

Del Toro go look at his results this time last year he would he wouldn’t have got a Conte contract he didn’t race until April in the TR it’s really C cibu changed it yeah he was even then though he was 10th in in Grand Prix jinsky cibu he was 11th on balak behind

Marona uh and Mark Donovan and badti he lost he lost nearly a minute to Mato bad Lati like a journeyman 31y old climber andour and then yeah he just improved a lot but even in Tut avener he wasn’t the best on the climbs like he was in the in

The individual time trial uh Richard put 46 seconds into him and panoli he was in terano here put 6 seconds into him panoli yesterday on the mountain top finish L 36 seconds lost a minute 30 minute 25 to Del so yeah he’s if he keeps improving

Like this he should win the Tour next year um because I think it’s unlikely that he does the same progression from last year to this year because otherwise that would be ridiculous yeah but you mean he’s climbing because even in the TDU he won that stage but was on the flat and then

On the climbing on W longa he wasn’t so good then Al gav good in the TT but on on foyer he he got dropped uh but then here on the climbing stage is really really impressive so uh a deserved fourth and I can’t wait I mean he’s doing aorus provisionally that’s a waste

Of time like it’s a waste of time for him to do that he should do a proper race oh well T there is is uh is alaron there not anymore no he is his suspension finished last year yeah yeah yeah does he have a team though uh no

Team no team because w52 got disbanded would be pretty uh maybe someone desperate for points next year maybe medine can sign him maybe uh he’s 37 now but he still was good enough to win the Tour of France in 2019 um in terms of his level seriously

The uh okay yeah Toro that’s um probably you’re right to pick that out Benji I say aons will be pretty happy with that there’s some good names ahead of him two two-time totle France winner and a Juro winner and hinley in third no shame in in where finishing six probably would

Have hoped for fourth though uh pitcock good performance but then that big collapse on not a big collapse but you know not a good result on the stage before on stage five uh Mar nowhere greguar I was impressed with there was no stage that suited him probably it would have been

Better for him to do parenes frankly um in terms of the parkour I feel like gregar actually got wasted at this race um yeah so yeah I don’t really have much else from Tano Benji dingar put down a marker and Pa Vasco has uh V guard there as

Well as cous and tet tet was good in this race and pidcock’s back there hindley and Rit are there and but no pogy unfortunately last question before we finish it off R when will inos win their first will to erase this season uh maybe be quicker if they let Ben turn

To do the tactics they might be allowed to go on a breakaway yeah yeah what is it yumbo visma sorry Vima Lis bik have eight cor PCS have eight World T wins UAE five de cathlon have one alberon have one now Bahrain two little Trek three little Trek have

More than that little Trek don’t they can I count sco in two Milan no three Bor four S quickstep four yeah uh but it’s also not just the world tour ones they have one win two wins sorry if I don’t count the Ecuadorian national champs offense they

Got a 2-1 win which was a neutralized individual time TR on road bikes and caminho yeah so cuz like they could have had witer wins if darling had the right schedule if some other Riders had the right schedule but that wasn’t the case well they they

Yeah they don’t have a sprinter they got viviani but he’s no good well and then um but with this te you should already be able to get a world tour sorry you you should be able to get a world to win with this tee already by

Now yeah yeah yeah tying is the second best Tom TR Ro in the world so you just send him to a race at Remco is not out he win the TT like it depends on which time trial when you say second best flat he’ll win it if remco’s not there

Probably probably still beat Remco half the time so but yeah no Sprinter and you’re not allowed to go on the break away well then [ __ ] me you got to have the best GC Rider on the stage or the best puncher like it’s hard to win World Tour

Races that way uh uh Ethan ha he did caminho he’s doing the jro I think but uh maybe he’ll win at Romy but yeah that’s the uh catalon I’m not sure who they’re sending but that’s got pogy there so good luck anyone winning a stage when pogies at a race that’s that

Hilly uh any other learning from this week Benji CU we’re not doing a weekly round up so we may as well um yeah like where’s your Vibe meter with with what the [ __ ] are you talking about your VI meter on teams like vismer and UAE look where they were

Last year they’re both still there one and two in terms of GC where what about that 3 to six range well first of all if we take a look at barin that just finished talking about quickstep here their Classics are not looking brilliant right now marier

Is the the key Sprinter who’s taking the victories for that team so they can be happy with his performances Remco should have won parin is how I perceive um that s of the thing like if Remco is serious about his to of France uh plan that it needs to win parin so

That that’s not just rco’s fault it’s also the team’s fault and so forth so in general that that that should have happened I I feel like I’m not and I’m not closer at all to Remco being that tdf competitor than I was at the end of

Last year in anyway so I’m I’m still snag stagnated in that end so team hasn’t really changed much outside of that I’d say towards uh my expectations for the rest of the season I think when it comes to bahin I kind of expect a

Build to be a bit better but I think he also crashed at some point this week so that might have that might have had an impact he P him to a e though Bahrain really is one of those teams where I feel like we’ve mentioned it numerous times already

But I see them when it comes to GC above little Tre he despite ta gagen har joining that team maybe gagen Hart can lift that up once I see him back in like the form where he was at the jro last year for example but this week it wasn’t

Really there and can’t really blame him for that because of his recovery Milan’s been on point Peterson’s been on point I think in the upcoming Classics we’ll see a block of little track next to next to Vima not next to Vima but at least closer to Vima with as a sprinting

Option Fon and styen as the uh attacking options is my expectation there so I think that’s going to matter there as well uh what our teams exist in as well in I’ve set my tail when it comes to anyos first of all where I feel like tactically they’re not the strongest

Team seen that quite a few times this week as well GC wise they I I love that Bernal is now competing for top fives again in World Tour races but that’s not shouting pum spoted to Fria for me Rodriguez hasn’t looked great either barin are a better GC team than any usse

In my opinion facts yeah like terms of preparing a guy for a grand tour GC in world to onewe races tactically barab Bell and in addition to that then Pitcock first of all looked pretty terrible in the first Mountain finish in the second Mountain finish he had a good

Level but it’s also not a good level where you’re think okay he’s going to he’s going to now be that guy at the to of Fran Zer for the team so I’m like okay I haven’t seen a performance of the level to a GC top 10

Though yeah fine but there’s a lot of people that can top 10 a world to raise in this pellaton true so I he needs to be more than that for anyos then again are we judging them too much on their Road cycling stuff when when half their team is going to ride

The Olympics and and then pitcocks probably going to get something in mountain bike how much does get that give to anyel because I don’t know how much of the credit inos can openly like publicly get from that the newspapers are going to write about Pitcock from the the Great British UK team whatever

Uh got the Olympic medal whatever inos ain’t going to be in that headline like what does that give to anyos um I don’t know if there’s if they’re on his jersey but you’re right like well he’s on a pinell so then Pinella who are sponsor of the team are

Happy and it just impr improves his profile and so I think it is a net positive if he wins Olympic gold uh yeah for sure it’s not a negative I don’t I don’t think he’s throwing his season for it either Ghana maybe Ghana didn’t look

Very good so maybe he has one eye on the Olympics him not doing re B is uh kind of crazy to be honest um I presume that’s cuz he’s worried about crashing but uh yeah that’s a bit much I think uh other teams oh that’s it I don’t care about

The rest um the cathon the cathon are flying the kathon they just keep getting good like Ben o Conor fifth here they just keep getting good results across the board goal top 10 top 10 both Races they got to take it and I just found out

That this is the first time that the same teams won aner GC at once which yes I would have thought Sky would have done it back in the day but uh anyway yeah so who because they they never had like two Godlike leers at the same time he was riding for

A Richie Port he was a super dumb true um yeah I just thought they would have you know I just thought they would have they had they had a lot of GC Riders who were very good like they won the tour with four different guys in like four

Years so You’ think but uh yeah it’s an interesting statistic it’s hard to win so B meisa bike got to be happy with how the season has started but that’s all from us uh we are going to Flanders tomorrow make sure you follow us on socials we’ll have updates for all of

That and little Snippets both really looking forward to it and then we have our milans and Rama preview dropping Tuesday night but Wednesday morning most likely around there around there uh for the the race on Saturday and that’s the only pod we’ll have during the week obviously we’ll have the

Sun Rama recap on the Saturday afternoon afternoon so hope you enjoyed all the double header pods this week and uh thanks to join cycling for sponsoring the Pod today and we’ll see you on Tuesday night at the earliest until then ciao

    1. Is Evenpoel too chunky to take on Vingegaard? He’s approx 64kg but bigger up top. Vingegaard is the skinniest man alive apart from his legs. Looks like similar power to Remco but lighter chassis.

Roughly based on this week (appreciatively at different races) it looks as at around VO2 max effort, Jonas is climbing 8-9secs per km faster than Remco/any one else.

Fairly sure Jonas toasts Matteo on training climbs. Other thought on this…

    2. Man Milan has power. He’s only 23 as well he definitely has the potential to one day be the best sprinter in the world. He reminds me of kittel in some ways with that big engine he has

    3. Remco should have made Jorgensen do the riding, he probably would have refused, expecting he could let McNulty come back and then gap him on the final climb… but still… should have stressed Jorgensen. He was a nice guy today, not a killer.

    4. Milan is actually going to be a lethal sprinter over the next few years. He's an Olympic gold level team pursuiter with an 1800w peak. The perfect physiology for high speed intense sprints. Literal Kittel reincarnated

    5. Paris Nice was a good watch almost every day; Tirreno one of the worse races of the year to watch, every day: Boring long sprint days, the rain, and no competition for GC

    6. You can't compare the performances in Tirreno with the ones in Paris-Nice because the latter one was a much harder race not only because of the weather conditions and parcour but also because of how it was raced. So no, the performance of Hindley or Ayuso doesn't mean anything when comparing their shape to Roglic or Remco.

    7. Quickstep not great showing…we have been saying they are not capable of delivering Remco to a TDF victory. Remco also is still a question mark for challenging in TDF and that with a team not on same level as UAE or Visma so it's quite clear to me at least what's going to happen

    8. Where is Bora in GC herarchy? Above below Bahrain?… Roglic not at his best…is this now his best.?… Valsov and Hindley probably are solid top 5 gc in GT and Maybe podiums for non tdf GTs?

    9. Like Chris Horner said, Remco is a knucklehead when it comes to tactics. He made it so easy for Jorgensen after they dropped Mc Nulty, by pulling at the front most time after that. Conclusion: Jorgensen got on the Visma ktones, Roglic got off the Visma K tones

    10. Remix does not have the team to win the tour. Roglic has the team, I’m just worried because he was pretty bad here and he is pretty old. Pogi can never win a tour with Jonas there. I love pogi, love the way he races but he just isn’t that good especially wit( him doing the giro earlier. Jonas looks primed to win another tour, especially with his team getting even stronger

    11. Honestly Remcos biggest problem is he is pretty low race IQ and that is the reason he wont ever win a TDF. Compare to someone like Vingegaard, I consider having one of the highest racing IQs, also Roglic very high Race IQ. No way they would tow the first in gc to the line. Pogacar no way, high race IQ too but he has the fault of beeing too aggressive at times but he both has the strengths of attacking and the race IQ to never do this.

    12. its really difficult to not overrate the P-N results. Remco looked like a second tier gc rider at best and Roglic was nowhere. With Vingegaard dominating tirreno and pogi doing the giro I fear the Tour becomes a one, maybe one and a half, horse race
