Night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in an ice cream store I read the St this morning from the family and if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying is heartbreaking

Then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots of racism within it I don’t NE think it’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions but for her on TV on radio and on your smartphone this is talk TV this is talk today with Jeremy Kyle and Nicola Thor good morning all just gone 6:00 on Wednesday the 20th of March you’re with talk today on TV radio online and on your smart speaker here are your top stories this morning Kate’s privacy breach and investigation is underway over reports that hospital

Staff Tred to access the Princess of Wales Medical Records counting the costs there are claims this morning that government plans to house Asylum seekers in large sites rather than hotels will cost the taxpayer an extra 46 million wow and Bob is off the beat more than one in five police officers are

Reportedly planning to quit the for amid poor pay and low morale and it’s another mild one today but it’s also quite rainy with showers expected later as well I have the details in the forecast later cheers n now it’s time for the headlines with Emily thank you Nicola good morning boss

Is at a hospital where the Princess of Wales was treated have launched an investigation following claims staff tried to access her private medical records the security breach happened at the London clinic in January where reports suggest at least one member of Staff tried to act access Kate’s notes

While she was a patient undergoing surgery there the hospital is known for treating politicians and celebrities the data Watchdog is assessing the report the chancellor has suggested a general election could be held in October speaking in the House of Lords Jeremy Hunt said the treasury would need

Time to push through a review of whiteall budgets before next spring making an October date the last possible month an election could be held meanwhile the shadow chancellor has warned a labor government would face almost impossible tradeoffs on tax and spending if the economy fails to grow

Rachel Reeves says the only way of fixing the financial problems faced by public services is growth across the whole country I suggest that the answers today is an economic approach which recognizes how our world has changed building growth on strong and secure foundations with active government Guided by three imperatives first

Guaranteeing stability second stimulating investment through partnership with business sound scientists are claiming a medical breakthrough after successfully eliminating HIV from infected cells the team from the University of Amsterdam say they use Nobel prizewinning crisper Gene editing technology to cut DNA so affected Parts can be removed and the

Advertising Watchdog has found a claim made by Aldi that it was selling Britain’s cheapest Christmas dinner to be misleading the supermarket was reported to the advertising standards Authority by sabes after it ran a campaign saying it was around £10 more expensive to buy the ingredients at the

Rivals store those the headlines I have another update in an hour’s time em Market beef yes they brilliant I know thank you very much M you all right very well you obviously got the memo ladies and gentlemen there’s no truth in the rumor that Nicola thorp’s next job is

Going to be an easy J good morning what on the menu say tea coffee me where are the emergency doors to Manu that’s great how are you mate I’m just wearing orange I’m fine this is Tangerine this is Blackpool football like you come from Guantanamo Bay where you’ve been locked

Up for years to anyway uh lovely you’re right slightly less bright orange know I’ve got the memo we go I got the memo where’s your color hey what no I’m got any boring yeah anyway uh listen this morning yes thank you welcome and we’re going to start as we always start with

With a story that broke over night quite disturbing this the hospital that treated the Princess of Wales has today launched an investigation into claims that at least one member of Staff tried to access her medical records that’s right one Insider told the mirror that the palace was immediately informed but

It’s incredibly damaging for the clinic which has also treated former presidents Prime Ministers and celebrities well let’s go now to our Royal editor Sarah Houston Sarah good morning this is quite unprecedented isn’t it um sadly it’s not actually and we can talk about that in in a moment Nicola um but you may

Remember back in 201 12 uh there was again a data breach when the the Princess of Wales then the Duchess of Cambridge was in hospital while pregnant with Prince George but this is extremely serious if these allegations are true uh because what is claimed is that a member

Of Staff or several members of Staff tried to access the princess of wales’s private medical information during her 13-day stay at the London Clinic following abdominal surgery now it doesn’t matter who you are it doesn’t matter if you’re a member of the royal family or if you are you know the most

Famous person in the world you are still entitled to Medical privacy in fact it is a criminal offense for a member of Staff within an NHS or private medical setting to try and access medical information without permission and so now there is an investigation by the London Clinic the information

Commissioner’s office is investigating as well Kensington Palace not giving any comment at the moment saying this is a matter for the London clinic but I think this is really really serious indeed and yet another TW twist in what has been a very difficult time for the royal family

Sarah uh great to have you on thank you so much indeed you know me I’m a royalist but the first thing that went to my head which might be right or wrong over this was interesting timing for this Bo to be released isn’t it I I don’t know about that Jeremy I

Mean I don’t know whether this has been circulating for some time obviously we’re told that Kensington Palace were made aware as soon as the allegations were raised why this is coming out now we don’t know uh whether it has been known about and they’ve been trying to

Keep it uh Under Wraps I don’t know but it is very very serious indeed because you know you are act your most vulnerable when you are in hospital and you make a really good point it’s not about being a royal princess we can talk about the wider ramifications of what’s

Going on that’s for anybody you’ve just been in hospital having a baby my wife’s been in hospital having a baby these are moments as you quite rightly say where our people are at their most vulnerable basic whatever and and it should absolutely never happen and for a

Hospital like that as it said in the introduction that Prides itself on you know the Privacy aspect presidents politicians famous people not a great look at all sir uh no and of course this is also the hospital where King Charles went for treatment on his enlarged postate at the same time as his

Daughter-in-law was in hospital uh former Prime Ministers Clement Atley was treated there the prince philli princess Margaret the queen David Cameron the foreign secretary was born at the London Clinic it Prides itself on on discretion that is why it attracts such high-profile clients and this will be extremely damaging but it’s not really

About the hospital’s reputation now is it this is about an individual and their private uh medical information with somebody uh it is seems accused of trying to get that information for what we can only imagine is financial gain I was going to say Sarah do we know

Anything at all about what they were trying to do was it the case of nosiness or do we know of any reports of them trying to sell those records to a newspaper who presumably would not be allowed no newspaper would buy exactly no newspaper would buy it so I just

Wonder what the you know what the incentive might have been yeah I mean we can only imagine what the incentive has been and and the level of interest in this has been off the charts hasn’t it of course there’s going to be a huge amount of interest in the Princess of

Wales being admitted to hospital uh but just because you know there’s a public clamor for information doesn’t mean actually that the public has a right to know and that’s what’s happening here and that’s what Kensington Palace is grappling with this feverish febrile speculation online this constant demand

For information where is Kate and as far as they’re concerned uh she’s at home she’s recovering as they set out she’s due to be back you know after Easter and plans certainly being put in place uh we understand for a kind of soft launch of her back into public life we may even

See her walking to church on Easter Sunday with other members of the Royal Family but the level of interest in this I think has shocked everybody you were on with us I think last week um and we were talking about that level of Interest which has been fed obviously by the the

Woman that she is and the changes that she’s made in America the other day you were away but Googling for Trump and Biden is not as much many people as those Googling to know what’s happening to K lots of conspiracy theorists we’ve talked about that people writing

Terrible stuff leave her alone let her get on but of course this is another unwanted thing today isn’t it the hospital records she was seen at the weekend at wi the farm shop everybody jumped on the bandwagon Kevin Peterson the cricketer was said overnight to say

I see them every week I live there no you don’t Kevin you live six miles away I know that everybody seems to be piling in presumably now bit of peace and quiet bit of Tranquility get fully better and come back into the public eye that’s what they want right that was the that

Was the aim and it really hasn’t happened and actually today’s story brings back some really tragic memories doesn’t it I I mentioned 2012 when uh the den Duchess of Cambridge was in hospital with severe morning sickness and there was the prank phone call made by two Australian DJs to the king abood

I 7th Hospital trying to get information they posed as the Prince of Wales and the late Queen at then and were put through to the princess of wales’s at nurse and the nurse who’d initially taken that call subsequently went on to take her own life so the most tragic

Consequences from that attempt to get information even if it was done as a joke I mean this is really serious indeed trying to get someone’s personal medic medical information regardless of who they are is very serious and as I said it is a criminal offense and there are investigations underway Sarah do you

Think that this latest Scandal goes to show how popular Kate and William still are even though there have been a lot of criticism of the way perhaps the Prince of Wales has dealt with this you know allowing for his wife to essentially been thrown under the bus by that that

Photoshop claim which is what a lot of people are saying but the fact that it’s you know still the front page of pretty much every newspaper here in front of us does it show that they are popular still yeah it does and I think actually a lot

Of the criticism has been directed at Kensington Palace at the AIDS who are employed to advise these two because you know the suggestion being that well the Princess of Wales doesn’t necessarily know that you’re not able to issue uh manipulated photographs to news agencies but yes I think it does speak to just

How popular and how much interest there is in this couple not just here but all around the world and actually there was some ugv polling for Sky News yesterday which showed that actually uh The Prince and Princess of Wales are still the most trusted members of the royal family

Despite the controversy over the uh photo editing for example they are extremely popular you know they’re being talked about on us chap shows yes it’s not the way they want to be talked about but there is a huge huge level of interest in this cuple couple that’s not

Always easy to deal with uh and I think that is certainly one of the greatest challenges for them right at the moment that in this void where we’re not seeing them this clamor for information and this spread of the most toxic conspiracy theories which you know we can’t repeat

Because they’re just so mad actually they’re Dreadful Sarah listen thank you so much she flew back last night she’s on here now she’s coming in here later you’re an amazing lady thank you very much indeed Sarah Houston back here after night moving on to politics down now Nick well save the date the

Chancellor has hinted at an October general election he was speaking at the Lord’s committee about the government’s spending review this particular spending review uh has to be complete before next uh April when the next financial year starts um and of course if the general election is in October that will mean

It’s very very tight and that is why we’re thinking in advance that was the most deliberate slip up I’ve ever seen in the history of politics joining us now to talk TV reporter Victoria inis G of mine former labor advisor Mike Bucky good morning one and all that was

Absolutely planted Vic come on I mean I think even if you look at that clip there if you look closely you can sort of maybe see a slight smirk on j h stop I’m going to give it out I’ve given it and then I’m going to smirk does anybody

Care whether it’s October or may or November or June well I think I think everyone cares I mean I think it’s you know what most people are talking about at the moment it’s the question that everyone wants an answer to Jeremy Hunt obviously you know there is speculation

Was he trying to steal the spotlight from Rachel Reeves before her big speech yesterday was he just trying to tease when it’s really going to be in November you know was he trying to calm all the stories of Tori MP plotting and reassure them that it’s not going to be any

Sooner um you know I think he knew exactly what he was saying and a lot of people saying today that you know he probably knew that it it was going to be that date much sooner than today so I think that’s going to dominate the conversation today and there’s going to

Be a lot of talk about it going forward Mike do you think this was a soft launch for the general election no I don’t I think this was just trying to get some headlines and as you say probably distract from Rachel’s speech uh I’d be very surprised to be honest if it was

October because then they’d have to disrup party conferences both main parties make a lot of money out of party conferences given the conservative party that they might give this money back to this guy who made those allegedly racist comments well the comments were racist they were allegedly made let’s put it

That way around um so I think they’re going to want the money from P conference in so I think this was all about the news cycle not about actually announcing the DAT which they’ll save for later when I woke up this morning and I came in I saw the papers and new

My mate Buckley was coming in I have been waiting for two hours for this so Rachel Reeves yesterday this this big speech of the city of London let’s just nail this with people just tuning in this is a big deal this wasn’t about uh policy because there was no meat on any

Bone from her this was about Labor wooing big business showing that their Chancellor is fiscally respons responsible a massive massive deviation front of the eye this morning and this is a genuine question to you Reeves we won’t repeat the mistakes of new labor who she says failed to buide security

For poorer people and I won’t make the same mistakes if I win power I’ve talked on this show about how the labor party has parked its tanks on the Tory lawn for your Chancellor four years on from Corbin to be saying you know the new labor under bled did nothing as as it

Should have done for poor people that is a massive massive thing is it not that is a massive change for a party in four years Mike it is and to be honest I haven’t read that quote in context so I would like I will go away from this and

I will I will read that quote in the context of the argument that she was making I mean I’m I’m surprised to hear her say that simply because the D labor government did a huge amount for poor of people we brought three million kids out of Prophecy for example in our time in

Office those kids or the equivalent of those kids of course they’ve grown up different kids now they’re back in poverty because of mistakes this government have made or deliberate choices this government has made she says new labor failed to provide security for poorer people and vows not

To make the same mistakes as Blair’s party did if she and starma win well implicit in that is a commitment to get poorer people out of poverty when labor presumably wins the next general election as would seem more than likely so I am glad to hear her making that

Commitment I mean I think that’s the take home for people today but as a labor as a as a man steeped in lab genuinely we’re mates right for them for her to be saying there’s no money I’m not promising pay Rises I’m going to stick to this 2% inflation if I was

Somebody who didn’t live in this country that could have been a Tory Chancellor yesterday is there literally that much difference in the Public’s eyes with what were’re being served up that you would never have had a labor chance to talk like that never there’s a huge amount of difference I mean when would

You hear a conservative transor when have you heard in the last 14 years a conservative transor talk about helping people the pile of use them as a punching bag basically and every time every time they have an opportunity they’ve reduced benefits they’re talking about reducing benefits again now so

They can make more tax cuts this government is not interested in helping people at the bottom of the pile labor is they weren’t inde labor I I would have the argument with rachal Rees actually but they certainly will be when they win the next general election Victoria just moving on to a different

Story now um a National Audit office report has uh shown that the home office’s large sites program for housing Asylum Seekers is actually expected to cost 46 million pound more than hotels yeah uh I think this is you know just another stage in the all the controversy that’s going on about the

Rwanda Bill obviously it’s back in the House of Lords today there’s going to be a big load of talk uh on that as it sort of you know goes between those two houses this is the interim you know what the uh conservative government have put forward uh before that Rwanda policy

Comes into Force obviously that’s meant to be a massive deterrent in the meantime it’s got all of these millions of people uh thousands of people who are here and they need to to be housed somewhere they say that it’s costing 8 million a day to house them in hotels

This plan of these larger housing sites was supposed to be a cheaper alternative that was going to cost the taxpayer less money obviously now this National Audit office report has come out and said in reality it’s going to cost 46 million pounds more which is going to you know

It’s going to play into pmqs today it’s going to come up time and time again and you know it’s not going to be welcome news for the government who are hoping that we’re going to get these flights off the ground and we’re going to get closer towards solving this problem and

Just to say I think it is good and right to make sure that Asylum Seekers are given the best possible um housing at a cheap rate at a value for money give like they do in France no at Asylum Seekers this is before people are being you know before people have been

Rejected I think that is good and right I think it is insane that so many people myself included when this was first announced were criticizing this plan saying it’s going to be more expensive it would be cheaper to send Asylum Seekers on a piano cruise around the world than it

To them in this so it has to be about value and making sure people safe well yeah but Mike and I we’re absolutely agreed in this and I think you are as well there are aund I honestly I spend every day thinking I’m going to play there are 170,000 people who haven’t

Been processed we’re spending 46 92 million why doesn’t somebody take that money and create a processing system that can deal with this backlog the people who are genuine can stay and the ones who are taking the Mickey can do one that’s what people want mik I agree

With you I mean this is exactly where we are and this is needless money being spent and the joke’s on us basically we’ve got a government that’s just us they’re spending our money to house these people instead of processing the claims there’s no reason for that at all

We used to process claims as I’ve said on this show many times before jry processes claims in a month it takes us two years there’s no need for that and this is what I mean about the best possible uh accommodation for somebody which is you know safe safety has got to

Be number one for for both them and for the people in the in the surrounding area but we’re talking about the big Stockholm that was people were not consulted in that area before it was put in certainly campaigners you know Pro Asylum Seeker campaigners were saying

That the B sock home was just unfit for purpose I mean look at it there and also I think you make a really good point what about the people who have saved up all their life and retired there they want that on their front door it’s unacceptable can I just we’ve only got

One minute but I really would like you both of you quickly government today introducing the tobacco and Vapes Bill uh that the bill proposes that children turning 15 this year or younger will never ever ever ever be able to Le Al buy tobacco Mike what’s your thought I

Am in favor of this my main concern is the government are devolving responsibility to shop shop staff basically see you’re going to get people going in wanting to buy tobacco the shop person says let me see your ID no you can’t buy it is that going to lead to

Violence in some cases probably will there’s already been a massive rise in attacks on shop workers because of the cost of living crisis this could add to it but I agree with the ban but it needs to be I do because I think we need to stop people smoking because it kills

People but you should be able to make that choice I don’t think you should interesting think well I think this is one of another one of the areas where you know rak’s hoping that it was going to be you know one of those Legacy policies it was

Going to be you know an open goal and in reality what we could see when this legislation is introduced into Parliament is a lot of Tory MPS not backing it a lot of people expressing their discontent their unhappiness with this plan and that’s going to be another

Headache for the Prime Minister from for for some of the reasons that you’ve mentioned you know Nanny State free will it won’t work there are a Bigg things we need to focus on like obesity it’s costing a lot more money it’s affecting a lot more people and you know is it

Just going to be one of those things that the most amazing point and I hadn’t thought of it I’ll take my hat off to you and I’m not listen I just don’t think people should be told what to do in that instance the problem I’ve got is

People will say the NHS obesity is a really really really Salient Point really and also your’s your view it’s not legal to take class A drugs would you say that that’s well there’s nowhere near as many people who die from class A drugs as die from smoking related

Illness would you ban it uh for who this is the this is the question it’s not push it underground it it might I think it would be very very awkward for somebody who’s in their mid-30s in what 15 years time going into a a supermarket and trying to buy or Corner shop trying

To buy some tobacco yet their mate who’s 36 can you know it’s odd also this like you say this was going to be a legacy policy for CAC that he announced at the um at the conference last year and the Legacy policy have to have been Incorporated and work before they could

Be a legacy well yeah speak about Rwanda um and then Within weeks I think it was that he he based this policy on the policy that was brought into New Zealand and they have scrapped the policy all together it has indeed yeah good L very good fantastic time gone thank you so

Much to Victoria inis and former labor advisor Mike Bley let’s take a look at some of this morning’s front pages now all dominated by the Princess of Wales well the mirror leads with that exclusive Revelation that staff at the London Clinic tried to access the princess of wales’s private medical

Records the hospital has reportedly launched an investigation into the allegations the son continues their coverage of William andap picted at the local Farm shop as they speak to the dad who spotted the couple of Windsor dismissing finally wild conspiracy theories over her absence and in the telegraph a warning from kemy badeck

That the diversity drive has backfired as the business secretary raises concerns that inclusion policies have come at the expense of white men 622 Wednesday morning live across UK moving on now the latest inflation numbers I’m going to try and sell this released in under H and it’s expected that the

Office for National statistics will announce a fall from 4% to 3.55% could be a good morning for sun does it make any difference to your average Joe I don’t know well what will that what I’m hold on a second hold on a second

Man and Isle r c wants a cup of tea this morning easy jet he’s consigning me to being an easy jet tea coffee me emergency exits girls so what will that affect and how will it impact your life well our talk today correspondent Nick Hy has traveled to Grimsby to find out

Good morning Nick where about Grimsby are you are you at a fish market morning morning Jeremy been up at the cocodor with the boys here at Grimsby Fish Market talking about inflation and and how those Rising costs are affecting the businesses here obviously huge amounts of fuel huge

Amounts of electric involved in this industry uh we’ll get on to that in a minute we’ve also been in Grimsby over the last half a day or so talking to the people in one of Britain’s poorest towns about those prohibitive costs those those high costs in supermarkets at

Petrol stations and also those bills that people keep saying you know they begging for those those fuel bills to come down uh but speaking to the people of Grimsby we’re asking them you know what cost their fighting so prohibitive here’s what they told us formula is extremely expensive I think it’s a bit

Ridiculous but I mean luckily she’s not on it anymore um everything especially electric it’s the same old story if you increase fuel everything automatically goes up it’s a bad time for everybody and how the government are getting away with all I just do not know I know it’s

Not just them for the prices that’s rising in the shops but come on in this day and age hey we are living 2024 come on so you know you can see people at Grimsby calling out for some of these prices to come down hopefully that infl announcement today will help ease some

Of those those price Rises just a little bit uh as I said here at Grimsby Fish Market we can introduce you to the CEO Martin boers Martin just tell us about this fish behind us it comes quite a long way doesn’t it yeah all of this

Fish that we’ve got this morning is all from Iceland and as you can see it’s all beautiful fresh fish you can’t get much better than that these are hadock and these will be for sale in about half an hour’s time and there’s a good demand

For fish at the moment okay and I mean huge amount of fuel to get these fish here from Iceland how is that fuel those High fuel costs affecting you guys well the fuel costs for delivering are the ones that are catching people because in Iceland they’re coming on containers the

Actual cost of a container’s gone up dramatically the cost of running the operation has gone up and the cost of Staff wages but the actual fish itself it’s interesting because it’s a Movable Feast it’s a tradable commodity and that goes up and down just at the moment it’s

It’s actually quite low the price of fish um but when it goes to the fish and chip shop they got all the costs added on of The Frying and the stuff and the electricity and so on and so forth so as far as we’re concerned we accept the ups

And downs of it and we just get on with it and just tell us a little bit about you know when we’re still in a huge Chiller what about these electric costs and these these fuel bills for you guys as well well we try and be as as good as

We can we’ve we’ve got on to gone on to some electric forlift trucks we’ve had some support from the government organizations like the MMO they’ve been fantastic with us uh to help us with grants and support funding to develop the business to be more efficient and better organized so we’ve done that with

Electric forlift trucks LED lighting electronic doors uh and all sorts of equipment that we can do to mitigate the cost of electricity and make our operation more efficient at the same time they are what they are and we have to get on with it we have a unique

Operation with importing all this fish from Iceland and within the UK there’s still a great demand for fish so we’re really at the heart of the fish industry okay is there anything else the government can do to help help you and then help the customers in turn well because we’re importing fish from

Iceland we’re we’re more interested in the Icelandic quotes than Norwegian quas than we are in in UK quas but quotas are always one of the key elements of it and I’ve no doubt with the election coming up that it’ll be a topic that will be greatly debated okay thanks very much

Martin so okay again you know fishing quotas those those arguments have not gone away uh but you know this is the car before the storm here at Grimsby Fish Market at 7:00 this place will erupt and it’ll be turned into a bidding war for these thousands of hadock that

Have come all the way from Iceland and eventually will’ll end up in some fish and chips later on guys uh Nate you are she’s so excited about all this as you know uh our EasyJet flight cont attendee here she wants your at can you bring your app back when you come back this

Time your app is all right I will ask thank you good man thanks to Nicki grimby top man well we’ll see Nick again just after 7 a.m. when those numbers come out still to come on talk today campaigners criticized the decision to Halt phone calls to hmrc and social

When JK Rowling says let’s just be honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman is not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have to go f much further than his statement

I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’d need to say that he’ got it wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from PR city council lovely woman called Anna and yeah i’ justed an

Email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge quite right too quite right too it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled out May might as well be discussing an

Invasion of DARS for all I really get this but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my 8B noia Rel me Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m just about to do

It it’s carry on what just happened were missing there was a suggestion by some that maybe it would nice to put statue of the queen on the fourth PL Mr khah apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know it’s I know what’s coming and I can’t stop laughing so he

Suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small stat you then wasn’t there also a prostitute a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those inog Square he just got to walk up to soos Why do you know this because I know everything was he just unlucky getting

That question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in an ice cream store I read the St this morning from the family and if any

Police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying is heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say has lots of racism within it I don’t necess think it’s a racist country but it permeates

Our institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was 22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist fa supposed to she was 22 we’re

Supposed to have moved on from that don’t honk back on something you did that was was wrong TV it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back to you talk today it is 6:31 we’ll have the weather in just a moment but here’s what else is coming up

In the program despite rumors of a look oh of a coup plotting Tory voters vaccine act to lead them into the next election we’ll be discussing that in the papers next also today why so many policemen and women are planning to reside in the next 5 years will speak to form met detective

Peter Bley at 650 and at 7:15 what do the latest inflation figures mean for you and the money in your pocket sound like Jeremy Kyle while the numbers in your pocket we’ll have the numbers and the analysis later but first let’s take a look at the weather now what’s

Happening rain and showers but it’s still mild thank get out get out honestly it’s always raining bring me Sunshine don’t bring me rain I think you’ll find it’s bring me sunshine in the rain let’s have a Look times radio sponsors talk TV weather good morning good news it’s mild bad news more rain on the way and it’s turning colder into the weekend with frosts returning for some and some wintry showers and Hill snow expected it’s all due to a change in wind direction So currently it’s more of a

Westly flow we’re seeing the rain coming off the Atlantic strong winds will develop from tonight as we see wet and windy weather spread to the North and then Northerly winds develop that will bring through that cold air flow and temperatures will plummet just below average for the time of year the average

For the time is around 11° C and yesterday we reached 16.8 de C so it is mildes out there for this morning but overall quite a cloudy picture with rain across Central and Southern parts of Scotland Northern Ireland Northern England and the northwest of Wales that rain will be sinking its way southwards

Becoming light and patchy in nature as it eases over eastwards as well into the North Sea so it turns brighter this afternoon across Scotland lots of sunshine with light winds there as well actually feeling quite Pleasant for today a few showers in the East Northern Island mainly dry with lots of sunshine

And warm as well but the mild is conditions will be down towards the southeast where we see the sunshine particularly down towards the South Coast it could get up to around 16° C once again for today but that rain as I said sinking although easing southwards over parts of Wales the West country

Later the Midlands and easn England so a Cloudy and damper Fair across these areas for today now into tonight eventually that rain does ease its way further southwards mostly disappearing across parts of the southeast we’ll see clear spells for a Time across Scotland Northern Island before wet and windy

Weather heads in across these are areas and there could be severe Gales across the northwest of Scotland by the early hours of the morning a cool night across parts of the north milder though still across parts of the South and then through tomorrow that rain continues its Journey further eastwards we will see

Some heavy downpours particularly Across The High Ground Western Scotland winds will continue to strengthen and so it is looking quite unsettled but later I think we’ll see brighter Skies developing across the northwest of Scotland but turning colder there wet and windy for Central and Southern Scotland midafternoon and for Northern

Ireland into the far north of England the rest of England are Alo seeing sunny swrs and still feeling mild in the South times radio sponsors talk TV weather thanks n let’s take a look through the papers with the news mov Rebecca Hudson and spikes Fraser M before you start your EasyJet air hostess will offer you tea and coffee what would you like don’t you laugh Fraser don’t you dare spended and you’re

In Sage yes yeah Sage leather Sage leather yeah there’s a thought you say out loud uh welcome gang be let’s start with the story unauthorized staff tried to access the princess of worldes medical records in hospital this is on every newspaper this on the front page

Of the mirror if we take it away from her just both of you quickly this is absolutely outrageous that somebody’s medical records whoever you are can be stolen yeah I think that’s exactly it isn’t it you know obviously we’ve got this whole kind of circus show around

Kate and what’s happened to her and you know the pressure that she’s now under to you know go you know be seen out in public but the fact is this could be anyone this could have been your public you know your medical records your mom’s and the idea that you know unauthorized

People are able to access it I think is is the cause for concern and is the story here and the fact that she’s Royal I actually think in this moment is quite incidental yeah yeah and it is illegal absolutely is illegal there’s no excuse

For it um but you know you can you could see how the staff members probably got caught up in the excitement or the derangement frankly that there has been around uh Kate the past few weeks and of course we was discussing this earlier on the show with Sarah Houston that even if

They had seen these medical records they couldn’t take them anywhere as it were you know you can’t give them to newspapers they certainly wouldn’t so thank god um that that none of that came out at least uh Fraser front page of the telegraph now sunak is narrowly backed

By conservative voters to lead the party into the next general election according to an opinion poll according to opinion po a very very Placid endorsement of the of the Prime Minister 45% of people who um are going to vote Tori uh want him to lead

The party vote for him to be Leader by the way that in uh yeah no who did get who did vote for him only um rmps and you know this has obviously come off the back of a week of speculation as to whether the Tories are going to get rid

Of him before the next election thoughts on that phras I think the problem is is like who would replace him you know some of the people that they’ve been Wheeling out Penny Moran Tom tugen hat seem even less appetising as seem even less appetising as potential um leaders

Options um the Tory part is in a big hole it’s an exhausted government it’s an exhausted party it has no new ideas doesn’t seem to be any particular wing of the party party that can come to the rescue I’m a bit cynical about this I’ve said it repeatedly be that I you know

Soon wanted the job if fired the gun he got rid of Johnson whatever you think of Johnson Liz trust was a nightmare this guy wanted the job the Tory party is less popular at this precise moment that when trust was in power Richie sunak has been a complete failure in my mind and

Is out of his depth yeah totally I and I don’t think anybody in their right Minds would take the job they let him take the fall and then rebuild from opposition I genuinely believe yeah I think you’re completely right I think if you’re vaguely ambitious about running the Tory

Party you do not want to inherit this party and go up against Arma with the poll lead that he’s got and I think you’re right I think if the only qualification you’ve got to become Prime Minister is you want to become Prime Minister you probably shouldn’t be prime

Minister but that’s what I said Fraser two years ago well exactly and you know he’s done a terrible job he’s basically upset everyone yes he’s upset the people who um traditional Tory voters you know in the sort of sh World he’s upset the people who came to the Tories because of

Boris Johnson and brexit so he’s at practically everyone I don’t know what victim of circumstance or out of his depth no out out of his depth I think you know there have been many there to be fair there have been many you know huge events that would have probably

Knocked the stuffing out of any government you think covid the war in Ukraine the energy crisis but their handling of it has been very poor and again sunak just does not have a vision for anyone to get behind we I don’t think he’s actually and it sounds

Terrible to say this we don’t this the other day was elected in 2015 I don’t think he’s experienced enough I don’t actually think he’s that good sorry but I can’t even imagine one of the more experienced MPS doing a much better job at this point I feel like it been at

This point or two years ago when you walk up the street to Downy Street we’ve had this discussion many times and you go right all of that chaos trust Johnson I’m starting a fresh and then five minutes L you give Gavin Williamson a job he did not in my mind make good

Decisions from day one sorry defitely they had been such a bad culture brewing for such a long time yes I’m totally with you I just can’t imagine anyone else done a two years is enough time to make some changes I’m defending oh my God Nichol THS defending Ry good morning

Wow let’s move on to the next story quickly um campaigners and MPS have criticized hmrc why yeah this this is really an irritating story so hmrc are now going to not take phone calls for six months of the year uh between April and September you will only be able to

Talk to hmrc about your tax returns about your issu with your pay slip online um and so very rightly lots of people from kind of you know people who are representing groups who are not internet Savvy and actually just any of us who want to understand you know how

To pay our taxes effectively and properly um are kind of up in arms um you know hmrc is saying that they need to focus um the kind of finite resource they’ve got on kind of cloring in tax revenue so they want to kind of reallocate the resource who are

Currently answering the phones to go and spend more time making sure that you know they’re claing in the tax that they are owed but you know for lots of people especially I mean the campaign group silver voices are the ones who are particularly vocal about this saying you

Know if you’re a slightly older person trying to understand this and then you’ve got the then kind of forced to go and use the internet to figure out something that is quite worrying and stressful isn’t it kind of your tax bill um it’s pretty appalling I’m internet

Savvy and I still every year we’ll have to call somebody because I want to speak to a human being who’s going to tell me that what I’m doing isn’t wrong or in some way I’m going to get told off for it in the future I mean can I have a

Six-month tax holiday if they’re taking 6 months off precisely how enraging is it that the people who take all my money are telling me that they won’t give me a Serv I have to be really careful on this cuz I’ve I’ve yeah I think it’s an absolute outrage these people will send

Their letters and strike the fear of God into pensioners and young kids and people who maybe don’t understand the system and you cannot get jacked from anybody if you do you’re in a queue for five years and yet they’ll send demands and frighten you and they’re not going

To answer their phone that is the best line put that out all day what did you just say I’d like a six month tax holiday if this is how they’re going to treat us I mean look I think absolutely right the people who are calling into

The helpl line are the people who are trying they want help they’re the people who are trying to do the right thing they want to pay the correct amount all right I’ll say it I shouldn’t say it you know what they’re doing their resources for trying to get tax because they’ve

Changed all certain people to track they should be helping people that’s what it’s supposed to be I think it’s I think the hmrc probably is as as a body is in quite a difficult position but that doesn’t that doesn’t escape the fact that lots of people get letters and get

Scared and if you can’t actually have a conversation about that what does it do to people this must surely go against um some equality laws no this it’s not going against part of the equality act but somebody somebody would be discriminated against presumably on basis of disability it goes like this we

Are hmrc and we can frighten you but we’re not answering our Thrones it’s not about equality they just don’t care no but it it should in my mind go against equality act because somebody who is older is discriminating against older people on the basis of age obviously yes

And people who are disabled people who might not be able to use the internet there should be um Services vast areas of this country that don’t have any signal but even that’s beside the point this is presumably Fraser not providing the service they’re supposed as a public service body unfortunately we’re just

Getting too used to that across the public sector you know we’ve got too used to the fact that you can’t get a GP anymore you know too used to the fact that water is being spewed into uh or sorry sewage is being spewed into our waterways uh you know at some point

We’ve got to put our foot down say we can’t take people tell me that he couldn’t have made a difference soon yeah I’m being serious why you concentrate Rwanda for two years no you could have talked about sewage you could have talked about defense you could have talked about big tech companies taking

The Mickey out of people but no none of that none of that just Randa no my point wasn’t soon that couldn’t have made a difference I I mean that somebody as a leader of a party that had been in years I’m just saying he’s had two years I’ve

Heard nothing about sewage frasa makes a great Point what about Boris what what about Boris what did he do about sewage we didn’t get an awful long time he was busy here we go right phas quick let’s move on um talk to me about vaping and apparently it’s increasing

Cancer risk well there’s some research that shows there’s um research basically shows that there are some it does not pro we should point out it does not prove that vaping causes cancer but some research shows that it has can have a similar effect on your DNA to smoking

Now we know there’s some strange quotes in this piece it says that um maybe VAP vaping isn’t as hard less as we thought it was I’m not sure we ever thought it was harmless we just knew that it was a lot considerably less dangerous than smoking which it is because you know it

Contains you know far fewer of the chemicals that you find in in cigarettes it and it was used to actively encourage people you and me to give up smoking and I still think that is the right approach you know it’s it works as an Alterna

Think you should ban it or do you think that’s absolutely not I think I think it’s actually been I think it’s been good for public health overall it works in a way that it’s much more attractive than saying nicotine patches or going cold turkey would you ban smoking would

You what both of you no I no I don’t think you should but I think this is we need more research into vaping don’t we because people do very effectively use it to stop stop smoking but so it shouldn’t then be harmful or we should

Be aware of what those harms are so I think vaping isn’t going anywhere like it’s ingrained now into into people’s lives so let’s just make sure we know what we’re doing and we’re doing safely we need more research more regulation Nanny State yeah I like an Nanny stage it’s

You that normally rails against no no but you’re saying they shouldn’t ban it I don’t think they should tell people they just inform people to make their informed decisions and not decisions that are based on the fact that they’ve been heavily advertised a product uh moving on now to the next Story the

Front page of the Guardian Becca oh gosh yeah this was this was a gloomy read um so this is some research out by the world happiness report that um young people in in the UK and in the US are some of the least happy in the world um and that their sort of

Consumption of social media and the time they’re spending online on average 5 hours a day which I actually think is probably a little conservative when you think about people’s browsing habits and how much they’re on their phone um it’s causing kind of a decline in Real Life Connections and therefore is making us

All a bit sadder and quite alarmingly they put um Brit uh kids in the UK under the age of 25 are less happy than their compatriots in mova Kosovo and even Al Salvador which the guardian points out is the murder capital of the world so our our young people are very miserable

And entering these like midlife crisis they’re saying kind of midis midli CR in their mid 20s phaser less happy more entitled the generations no that wasn’t the take take I think there I think one of the perverse things that’s happened in in recent years in recent decades is

That the more we talk about um mental health the more we talk about people’s happiness the less uh happy people seem to be and you know one problem I think for young people is why do what you know we should ask why are they online all the time and it’s because they don’t

Really have the freedom um especially children not so much teenagers but they don’t really have the freedom to be out socially to make real world connections they’ve never their you know their real world lives have never been so policed so of course they they go online and I

Think I think that can probably that is a factor in making them miserable you know other things in recent years we’ve had the lockdown where they’re locked up for months on end I think that could also be a big uh Factor here you know yeah I there there are many different

Causes I think it’s odd to blame it all on social media even if that is a midlife crisis by 23 cuz they sit in their rooms playing with their phones till they come why are you so miserable then what cuz it work with you crack

On come on easy J read it still to come why are so many police officers planning to quit the force in the next two years we’ll ask a former met detective next this is talk today good morning L T please and a qule hey very good morning to you thanks

For joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to AB an eveit me old chin but a new report is calling for a new definition of name all right Jeremy me old China o when JK Rowling says let’s just be

Honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman is not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have to go for much further than his statement I mean he did say that he

Spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’d need to say that he got it wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from PR city council lovely woman called Anna and yeah i’ justed an email just saying um that yeah I’m going

To be getting a badge quite right too quite right too it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled out might as well be discussing an invasion of do for all I really get this

But but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my 8 noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m just about to do it oh it’s carry on what just happened missing there was a suggestion by some

That maybe it would nice to put a statue of the queen on the fourth PL Mr KH apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know what’s I know what’s coming and I can’t stop laugh so he suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t

There also a prostitute that a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in chaga Square you just got to walk up to soos Why do you know this because I know everything was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it

A sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in in an ice cream store I read the statement this morning from the family and if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you

Read from what the family is saying is heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say has lots of racism within it I don’t NE think it’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was

22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist did fail we supposed to she was 22 we’re supposed to have moved on from that don’t HK back on something you did

That was wrong TV it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back to talk today it is 6 49 Now new research is warning of a mass Exodus from policing responding to an annual pay and morale survey by the police Federation of England and Wales 22% of police officers said they

Intended to quit in the next two years that is up 18% from the previous year and it’s been reported that from March 2022 to March 23 more than 9,000 officers left the force former met police detective Peter bxy georg’s great friend of the show Pete good morning to

You my friend um hardly surprising is it unfortunately not record numbers of officers resigning retiring in fact for the first time ever resignations uh Trump’s retirees um and as much as they’re trying to shovel brand new officers in through the front door officers are leaving through the back door not only

Because of pay but because they’re poorly trained so they’re not they’re not ready to fight crime when they get onto the front line there’s no experience to show them how to do it the supervision of management is awful a lot of the time and of course morale is

Absolutely on the floor and Peter what’s it going to mean for not only losing 9,000 officers in the force but pres presumably a lot of those 9,000 are going to be some of the more experienced officers too what’s that going to do to the force well it it just damages morale and

What it basically means is when you get brand new police officers coming out of training which is lamentable and insufficient by the way they are then paired up with a similarly inexperienced officer so there’s not some Wise Old hand who’s got 20 years policing behind them showing them the

Way showing them the pitfalls and showing them how to avoid all of that they’re basically bumbling around in the dark and consequently we see so many police officers filmed on people’s cameras getting it wrong making wrong decisions not knowing the law and when those get posted on social media and

There’s a huge reaction the cops get even more gloomy and depressed about that let’s let’s look at it from Another Side because we spend a lot of time and I and I understand why when we think about you know Carrick and we think about um that was that animal Wayne

Cousins and we think about s we talked about all these things and about we’ve criticized the Met police and other police forces and PE quite rightly so but let’s talk about what that does for people who go into polic and let’s forget a lot of what you just said for

One minute do you think a lot of them feel de moralized because of the criticism from the general public which is absolutely well founded in many instances but do you feel that they all now perhaps feel they’re TI with the same brush to some degree they are unfortunately overly

Sensitive to criticism and this includes senior police officers they should grow a spine and quite simply be aware of the fact the policing is not a popularity contest in fact you want to be unpopular with criminals yeah keep away from social media if it’s not for you if you

Get affected by it just keep off it don’t be a part of it and the senior police officers grow a backbone don’t be so affected by criticism and rather apply all your efforts to Knocking your Police Services into shape solving crimes and giving the public the service that they

Deserve and Peter how does the real terms pay now compared to when you started as a police officer did you feel a sense of satisfaction with the amount of money you were being paid compared to what officers are paid nowadays he got two Shillings and a go him I have to

Admit I was very fortunate to really be in a period of policing that were the houseing days in terms of pay uh conditions and pension entitlements much of which have been butchered in recent years and this does affect police officers now like so many people in the public sect

They have to work longer pay more and get less and I think a full review of police terms and conditions including paying pensions would go some way to making the job a bit more of an attractive proposition The Talented bright committed young people so Peter do you think there’s a case for

Unionizing um the police force you know for police men and women to potentially I know they can’t in the UK it’s against the law for I believe that the police and the Army to go on strike we’ve seen strikes with nurses with doctors teachers barristers do you think that

Police should be allowed to go on strike to demand better paying conditions no absolutely not they have a federation which is tearing itself asunder actually and fails the rank and file in many different ways but they have that Federation that needs to be made into a robust properly function functioning

Professional Organization but you mentioned the Army I had the great honor of going to Sandhurst on Saturday because one of my sons is hoping to become an officer in the Army and as I enjoyed the wonders of the royal Military Academy and listened to all the speakers whether they be male female gay

Straight or whatever if we had senior army officers in charge of policing they would knock it into shape within a year it’s very interesting that and and and and I know a lot of people will cheating and go why are you criticizing you’re criticizing because you care don’t you

Pete you did it for a long long time people are not being served as de demoralized Workforce whatever the reasons of that are and I go back to something we head to an election final question you know for me a strong police force war on you know war on crime was

Always the number one thing you don’t see it anymore it feels like the streets are taking over to a degree doesn’t it in certain cities it certainly does and yet politicians will spout non when they say crime has never been lower we’ve never been safer we’ll get out onto the

Streets and ask people how they feel and then you will discover just what a huge untruth that is good man Pete thank you so much indeed thank you so much for joining us top man former met police detective Peter Bley well do stay with us we’re discussing the tobacco and

Vapes bill that will be introduced to Parliament later today but could this lead to a nanny State backlash can you do this for a fact this is talk today it’s 6:56 good morning hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk

TV on TV on radio online and we’re on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to AB an EV it me old Chinas but a new report is calling for a new definition of name all right Jeremy me old China Tre when JK Rowling says let’s just be

Honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have to go much further than his statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily

And he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’ need to say that he’d got it wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from PR city council lovely woman called Anna and yeah I’ve just received an email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge

Quite right too quite right too is that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled out might as well be discussing an invasion of darx for all I really get this but but but I am now on social

Media having been dragged off my 8 pound noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m just about to do do it oh it’s carry on what just happened were missing there was a suggestion by some

Prostitute a trans sex work you don’t really need one of those in jaaga square you just got to walk up to soos Why do you know this because I know everything uh was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed

Like he was on a late night show to attract a young democra and um they put him in an ice cream store I read the St this morning from the family and if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying it’s

Heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots of racism within it I don’t necess think it’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was

My step and my hat is at a jaunty angle there’s a lot to fit into the show so let’s start with the disturbing new said that in your ear they that broke overnight the hospital that treated the Princess of Wales has launched an investigation into claims at least one

Staff member tried to access her medical records now one inside told the mayor of the palace was immediately informed but it’s incredibly damaging for the clinic which is also treated for presidents Prime Ministers and of course many celebrities well to tell us more is Kinsey scoffield who’s joining us live

From LA good morning what do we know so far I mean you really laid out the the the facts um this was not a confirmed breach it said they do say that there was an attempted breach but can I tell you something that I saw last week here

In the states there is an influencer The Wall Street Journal recently did a piece on her about how she’s monetized uh she’s done so well monetizing her social media that she’s able to fund her own trips on the campaign Trail following several of um following Kennedy following Donald Trump and last week she

Said on her Instagram that she had access to the princess of wales’s medical records because of an employee at this hospital and she had been an individual that had been kind of pedalling some of these conspiracy theories so she formally apologized to the Princess of Wales on her Instagram

Because of what she said she saw and heard from this employee at this hospital um now she’s gone private over the last few hours since I’ve made mention of this online that I think it’s suspicious that she has been telling people to her one million followers that

She said that she had these access to these medical records um she’s gone dark on social media and has gone private but uh you know I clearly I think that these two stories are related um I’m Al although I’m sure that there are could be multiple people trying to access this

Poor woman’s medical record this is exactly what we were concerned about we had Sarah Houston on Kinsey in the first hour and she made a really good point which is I don’t know what happens over there but on this side it doesn’t matter who you are you could be the richest and

Most famous person in the world you could be a top celebrity member of the royal family whatever that is privacy and there’s a bigger issue here of course it all plays in to this drama this this circus at the moment that rounds Kate I I think it verges on

Bullying I said that yesterday I understand the mistakes that Kensington Palace but this just again this morning brings it back brings it back brings it back she was in hospital three weeks ago why are we only hearing this now are there people involved no newspapers Nick

Said in this country is goingon to G to deal with anything like that or print it so maybe it is online but have we not reached a point seriously right whatever the wise and were Falls whether Kensington Palace was wrong whether she was wrong to put she’s obviously had

Something wrong with that anybody and everybody can see that right you intimated then that the woman saw that it was maybe something serious where she saw it or not enough now I mean there are people in this country right yesterday there’s a picture on the front

Going that’s not her somebody on the BBC our state broadcaster for God’s sake I I don’t I don’t get it I mean I do but I don’t well I we unfortunately aren’t in a position to control the online chaos uh but it at this point it has

Jeopardized her safety and I think that that’s where we have got to say this is we’ve got to reject it stop watching it stop commenting on it stop engaging in it stop sharing it you’ve got to stop sharing this stuff because you give it power you give it steam everybody that’s

Sending it to me I don’t want it I don’t watch it because you’re giving it Steam and you’re giving these people credibility and you’re elevating them and what they’re doing is they’re putting this W this poor woman they’re putting her safety at risk and certainly her privacy they’re throwing it out the

Window and that’s very unfair Kinsey do you think that following this Scandal there might be calls for further regulation on what can and can’t be said online obviously you know we’re beholden to to certain regulations here uh there’s reporting restrictions Etc a lot of that is to do with people’s privacy

And their safety but online it’s kind of a wild west out there and I feel that this is the first time that the palace have really react reacted to speculation that has been happening online which means they’ve kind of opened themselves up to reacting again to it in the future

Because there’s that kind of expectation Now isn’t there despite the fact that these rumors are unsubstantiated absolutely because now social media users feel like they can dictate the palace’s actions going forward because they they’ve dipped their toe in they got a win and now they’re going to see how much they push

It you know the mystery that surrounds the British royal family it’s a blessing and a curse because that’s what makes them so magical but at the same time people can say whatever they want about these people on the internet and and typically they don’t come out fighting

And they don’t come out to defend themselves because it’s important that never complain never explain has been so important to them but can jump in I think that’s changed to a degree because I think the modern monarchy the slim down monarchy wants and needs to embrace a younger generation to to maybe sustain

A generation doesn’t perhaps agree with it as much I’m a fervent royalist I tell you what I’ve always thought on heart both of you I think big tech companies who make billions of pounds left right and Center across the pond and a I think they should be brought to task not just

About this but about so many things this is just another example these companies allow vile vile things that really affect people’s lives and get away with it and I think I think it’s a really good point and maybe that’s the good that will come out final thing though

Very very quickly um fingers crossed she’ll keep her head down now and after Easter Kate will return because for me she is the future of the monarchy no I agree uh we do I do expect to see her Easter weekend with the family uh but then you have to be realistic she’s

Going to take a break along with the Prince of Wales they’re going to take a break until after April 17th because they want to spend holiday with their children and good God these two deserve that absolutely and I wonder if you know obviously Tik Tok has come under Fire in

America certainly questions over here as well about who owns it is it Chinese State media could there be too much influence over there this really has destabilized the UK and destabilized the monarchy and I want you’ve got to ask questions of who is in charge of companies like Tik Tok and could there

Be ulterior motives for pedling kind of conspiracy theories about there will always be sad there will always be sad idiots who sit at home because they’ve got no life and no friends pedling terrible terrible things but it’s gone to a different level and maybe now is

The time kiny as ever thank you so so much love having you on our regards to La thank you so much Kinsey scoffield well let’s take a look at some of this morning’s front pages now all of course dominated by the Princess of Wales the mirror leads with that exclusive

Revelation that the staff at the London Clinic tried to access the Princess of Wales private medical records the hospital has reportedly launched an investigation into the allegations the son meanwhile continues their coverage of William and Kate pictur of the local Farm shop as they speak to the dad who

Spotted the couple in Windsor dismissing while conspiracy theories finally over her absence and in the telegraph a warning from keny Bok that the diversity drive has backfired as the business secretary raises concerns that inclusion policies have come at the expense of white men right moving on to that

Breaking news just after 7:00 you heard inflation has fallen more than expected to 3.4% right last month it was four that means that prices are rising less quickly than they have been that’s as basic as I can make certainly doesn’t mean that anything is going to be

Cheaper uh but it’s not going to get as expensive as quickly if I understand it correctly well I don’t understand tell you know what who does Danny houon head of financial analysis at AJ Bell good morning Danny economists predicted this but is it really good news morning lay

Persons Danny lay persons we’re all confused love yeah it is good news um we were expecting 3.5% remember it held firm at 4% last month which sort of set things on a bit of a wobble with lots of people maybe thinking that interest rates those crucial Bank of England rates might not

Fall as far and as fast as we had been thinking so yeah 3.4% it is the lowest level in over two years food is down to just 5% which when you’re doing your shopping will be incredibly welcome and just think back to where we were last year inflation 10.1% food inflation was

At 18% because of those salad shortages when we would go and there were no peppers and lettuce on the shelves so it is good news but it is unlikely to make any difference to the bank of England’s decision when they meet tomorrow to discuss interest rates I I always love

Having you on because you do put it in late person just throw this at you Jeremy Hunter has just said in response to those figures you’ll be able to understand this inflation data sets the scene for better economic conditions which could which I think is interesting word which could allow further progress

On our ambition to boost growth a bit too little too late I’m not asking you to be political but this entire uh Tory government certainly the last two years has been about bringing inflation down let’s tick the box it’s gone from 10 1 to 3.4 but people up and down the

Country uh watching this and listening to this are going that’s well and good we’ve made all these sacrifices I still don’t feel I’ve got more in my pocket so actually probably good longterm and again without getting political I suspect the next government will benefit from this more than the present one

Right yeah I mean in terms of growth usually it’s interest rate cuts which stimulate growth and we’re a little way away from that yet although Market expectation is now for three interest rate cuts by the end of the year taking us from 5.2% to 4.5% but you’re right I mean people they

Feel worse off we’ve had some survey notes out from which which suggests that while 25% of people think that they will financially get better over the course of this year a third thinks things are still going to get worse you know we’ve got 1.7 million households coming off

Those fixed interest rates which are going to make their mortgage payments higher they were ultra low levels whatever happens to rates over this year they’re still going to be paying a lot more we know renters as well are also struggling a lot of people robbing from

Peter to pay Paul you know they’ve got to cover these increased housing costs so they’re having to maybe not pay one of their bills or try and rearrange some payments they’ve gone through savings they’ve sold stuff and they are still not making ends meet Danny can you put

It in simple terms for will this affect in any way people’s weekly shop will we see any prices of products going down I understand inflation inflation is still Rising but will it lead to any supermarkets perhaps offering discounts on on everyday essentials I haven’t had a chance to go

Through all the figures yet to find out exactly where things are falling but we do know that supermarkets have been really focusing in on regaining market share from those Discounters so while we are talking about the fact that over all prices are still rising at 5% one of the

Reasons for that is that some prices on our weekly shop are coming down we’ve course saw the issues when Russia invaded Ukraine particularly on things like U those salad oils and Grains those are slowly finding some kind of level so things are getting better for people when they do their weekly shop they

Should hopefully start to feel the benefit of those National Insurance cuts the addition 2% in their April pay packet and crucially energy prices also du to fall in April remember energy although they have come down at the moment we’re still paying slightly more than we were this time last year because

We haven’t got that government help so while things have been getting better in terms of inflation people just really haven’t felt any better off hopefully in the next couple of months that will start to change and people will will start to feel that when they’re doing their shop they’ve got a few pennies

Left over at the end of it amazing thank you so much to Danny Houston AJ Bell there now our talk TV correspondent Nick Elby is in Grimsby to get the reaction there and Nick inflation affects the price we pay at the petrol pump yeah good morning Nick good morning

Jeremy been speaking to the people of grimby over the last day or so and actually what I’m getting here in one of Britain’s poorest towns is is is one is those those home heating bills really really prohibitive and also you know fuel costs so so high I’m outside a

Petrol station we’re actually not far from the the fish market where we spoke to you just an hour ago and Leed here 144.5 a liter and Diesel 40.9 and actually the diesel there is 5 p a ler cheaper so we spoke to a bunch of people who are actually driving 3 Mi

Out of town to go and pick up some of that cheaper petrol because you know they might only save themselves a couple of quid every time they fill up the tank but all those little little little few pennies do add up we spoke to people at the pumps out there in immingham and

Here’s what they told us about the price of petrol at the moment when I started driving in 200 2001 it was 68.9 a liter what you pay now I try not to look and I know that this petrol station’s one of the cheaper ones so I thought I may as well put some

In while I’m here yeah um I do tend to look at the prices more now whereas before I just filled up wherever basically we go to different stations until we find some place with the economical price which is this one we came here so we we went to

Two other station but this one is much cheaper it’s very very illustrative about how that high price of fuel is hurting everyone the guy at the top of the clip there saying when he started driving just over 20 years ago since then the price of petrol has more than

Doubled and and that those costs that are then knocking on and and you know putting our food prices up we spoke to the guy the CEO of Grimsby Fish Market this morning and he was telling us fish is actually cheap at the moment but once they sell it to the wholesalers and then

It makes its way to the fish and chip shops you know the costs that are actually hitting the the consumer are those fuel bills are those heating bills you know and those and there’s also the wages going up as well so you know we need all of these prices to come down

For us to start feeling a difference when we go and buy fish and chips or or you know when we do our weekly shop guys so you know I think in terms of the cost of living not really making much of a dent at the moment that’s we’re in this

For the Long Haul aren’t we thank you very much indeed that’s the point isn’t it because because you can see that figure down from 4% to 3.4% but right now people aren’t going to feel that and there’s a part of me that thinks this is

Going to happen in the next 6 to eight months which would be great for starma H let’s move on talk Tov Legend Victoria inis the former conservative advisor James price I here um 4% 3.4% I’m in on the face of it it’s a box tick for Richie sua but our people in

The country I mean he’s got six months it seems maybe this is going to turn the tide you see that happening yeah exactly well mean obviously you’re going to expect richieu night to come out today um and you know Jeremy Hunt and say this is a really great thing we told you

Things are improving bear with us we’ve got the situation in hand you just need to wait a little bit longer and obviously that’s another reason for having an election in the Autumn because things hopefully will go down more will continue on this trajectory and it will hopefully you know Richi Sak will tout

That as a good thing for the conservatives but obviously we’ve got interest rate figures coming in tomorrow and that will really make a difference to people and that’s likely to stay the same it’s likely predictions are that it will be the fifth consecutive month that these rates will be held and like 5.25%

So people with mortgages right yeah exactly and the longer that these rates don’t come down yes okay inflation may be coming down but people won’t feel it in their pocket prices like Nick was saying there are still remaining very high and that still means that things are difficult for rishy sunak and it’s

Very hard to say that the situation is improving while those interest rates are not changing James of course he will say that the situation is improving he will claim complete credit is he right to do that well governments will always get the blame inflation goes up anyway even

If it’s not their fault so these things kind of go back and forth and the one really good bit that governments can do when inflation is high is to show restraint in spending so the fact that they haven’t started splashing the cash around there was restraint when it came

To public sector pay deals that there was a sort of balance between there because you know as we saw from the 1970s when you start having more and more pay going up more inflation goes up more Trade union power all these things becomes a really unpleasant Thicket to

To undo and you know you need a Margaret Thatcher on the corner for that to happen and do we have a Margaret Thatcher on the corner re a lot you know said can I can I just to both of you but to start with you James um okay so

That’s a box tick for Su like nobody’s got an answer to the to the Immigrant problem I don’t care what anybody says do you see if we had I have to do this before people get angry if in the next six months inflation continues to come down interest rates come start to come

Down people begin to feel they’ve got more money in the pocket you used to work for them obviously in Tory head office to be going this is great this it’s not really going to make any difference is it because the one thing you cannot buy not with low interest

Rates not with more defense spending not with whatever is it’s a trust thing isn’t it with the British people right now are they not just not even trust are they just are worn out and fatigued by this government to be honest I think that that’s probably true yeah but I

Think they’re also just worn out and fatigued by politics in general yeah I agree probably for the last 10 years since the Scottish referendum everything has been in a bit of a Topsy Turvy ride right that’s about the same time I started working in politics and back

Then I was a young girl with a dream you can see what it’s done to mean so it’s your fault but I it’s always M but I think I think what we’ll probably see is people not really switch on until the election is called whether it’s going to

Be in October whether it’s sooner I suspect it’s probably October sounds about right people then switch on and then think oh this guys in labor don’t like them don’t like the Tores because they’ve messed things up who am I going to hold my nose and vote for you think

It’s going to be quite an apathetic yeah I I think so but I’m okay I’m okay with people voting for the lesser of two evils I think that’s I’m just not okay with people who don’t turn up and that’s my fear I’m being serious because I

Think it’s our our duty and if you complain or you disagree then you should vote for it will it be Armageddon in your mind as everybody’s talking I don’t think I don’t think that I don’t think they have a chance of winning but I don’t think it will be the wipe out that

Everybody thinks when push comes to show no I think you’re right I think it has to be a better performance than Blair managed in 1997 in terms of getting the seats back and all those kinds of things and again starma ain’t no Tony Blair so I think there’s that I think labor are

Helped by the fact that the SNP have been finally shown up to completely useless in Scotland um but I think the kind of rear guard action from the Tores they need to work out the strategy is it hold on to the red wall seats they gained or is it make sure they don’t

Lose seats in the southwest that we picked up from the lib Dems in the past and you it’s hard to do both the center cannot hold as as Yates once say Vic moving on now to the latest in the country’s seeming failure to either house or process Asylum Seekers tell us

What the latest is well we’ve had a report out from the National Audit office now originally you know these large scale housing facilities for Asylum Seekers who are waiting to be processed um and have a decision on their Asylum claims uh were um being housed in hotels the government was

Saying was costing us 8 million um every day so it came up with these large scale centers which it said was going to save the taxpayer £100 million this new report out today says in fact it’s actually going to cost them 46 million more so there are going to be questions

Uh you know as to what is the point of these facilities that’s before you even go into the protests the legal claims that are happening against almost every single one of these centers um and it’s just the latest uh you know we’ve got House of Lords Rwanda again going back

Today um and it’s just the latest headache for Ry sunak in all of this got um David he the human rights good front of the show on later about this uh James SS on this does it’s just the worst Optics frustrates the hell out of me deal with the protesting problem I’m I’m

Surprised we manag to build anything build these centers at all right this is the big problem with Britain today unfortunately a lot of people that don’t want anything whether it’s infrastructure or houses being built where they live I can empathize with them not wanting great big ugly looking centers for processing Asylum Seekers

Near where they live but we can’t get anything buil and if you got 700,000 net people coming into the country legally and illegally and you’re only building 150,000 houses a year with a housing crisis already no matter what other problems you’ve got about culture about social cohesion anything else where you

Going to put these people it’s impossible to do and that’s why we’ve got silly things like this stock Biby stockhome thing off the coast and these sorts of processing centers let’s build loads of beautiful houses millions of them build a city of bath again and again and again all over the country

People wouldn’t mind and then we’d have space for everybody very interesting one final question because we’re in a rush smoking ban being brought in today correct or Nanny State I think it’s terribly illiberal the idea that in future I’m not going to be able to enjoy

A cigar with my son cuz things like cigars are in this the country Winston Churchill is going to be banning cigars forever I think it’s ludicrous I think it’s evil there we go completely agree I’m not going to ask Victorian is Have a Cigar not old enough not old enough

Thank you both very much thank you so much talk TV reporter Victoria inis and former conservative adviser James price well still to come on talk today the country’s first cyber Flash is jailed and real men wear Cardigans apparently why Prince William Daniel Craig and Idris Elba are all rocking the trend but

Not Jeremy Kyle no I wear them and ug boots and only for the school run well the news movements Rebecca Hudson and and Myers are here to take us through this morning’s papers it’s because you keep saying I work for EasyJet this is talk today it is 726 good emergency exits that way

Hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online and we on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to have an evit me old chinina but a new report is calling for a new definition of all right Jeremy me old China

Tre when JK Rowling says let’s just be honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman is not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have

To go much further than his statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’d need to say that he got it wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from PR city council lovely

Woman called Anna and yeah i’ just received an email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge quite right too quite right too it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled

Out May might as well be discussing an invasion of dals for all I really get this but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my 8 pound noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m

Just about to do it oh it’s carry on what just happened missing there was a suggestion by some that maybe it would nice to put statue of the queen on the fourth PL Mr khah apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know it’s I know it’s coming and

I can’t stop laugh so he suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t there also a prostitute a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in fogus he just got to walk up to soos Why do you know this because I know

Everything uh was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U he put them in an ice cream store I read the statement this morning from the family

And if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying it’s heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots of racism within it I don’t NE think it’s a racist country but it permeates our

Institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was 22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist did fail her supposed to

Another she was 22 we’re supposed to have moved on from that don’t honk back on something you did that was wrong TV it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back you talk today it’s 7:30 almost R of the weather in just a moment

But here my friends is what else is coming up this morning well the first person in England and Wales has been jailed for cyber flashing we’ll have the details in the papers next and the anti-smoking bill goes to Parliament today meaning people turning 15 this year that’s my boy and everyone born

After them will never ever be able to legally buy tobacco that’s a eight funny just thought that Henry’s 15 isn’t he in March there you go there go and is it selfish for parents to spend their money on holidays and cars instead of saving

It to pass it on to their kids as long as Derry Kyle doesn’t have a heart attack we’ll be debating that at 8:45 but first now what’s the weather looking like it’s looking typically spring like it’s very changeable out there today and for the rest of the week

Are you okay there no I’m not I’ve got to wait till 8:45 I’m not allowed to spend my money so you can go and get your own job do me a favor man well with the weather today I think you will want to go on holiday so see you later you’re

All right then Okay times radio sponsors talk TV weather good morning it’s another mild one for many places out there for today and over the next day or so but don’t get too used to it it is turning colder as we head into the weekend we start to get more of a Northerly air flow coming

Through and we still see rain or showers and as that hits the cold air there’s the likelihood of wintry showers and some Hill snow as well as the return of frost and temperatures will be plummeting just below average for the time of year the average for this time

Of year is around 10 or 11 degrees celi yesterday we were above that up to 16.8 Dees C and similar values are likely in the South for today but it’s a very dull and damp start out there this morning for Central and Southern parts of Scotland Northern Ireland the north and

West of England and Wales there are outbreaks of rain as well and that rain is slowly easing its way southwards and eastwards so becoming lighter and patchy in nature later as it clears from Scotland sunnier Skies will develop there for this afternoon a few showers in the East and for Northern Island

Mainly dry and sunny and across these areas with light winds it will actually feel pleasantly mild temperatures up to 12° C the highest temperatures today though in the south in the sunshine especially along the South Coast it will feel very warm but there will be cloudy

Skies for the rest of England and Wales with spells of rain for the West country Wales the Midlands and Eastern England most of it light and patchy and a few showers heading towards the southeast overnight that front will continue its Journey further south and eastwards so

Cloudy with patchy rain as well as M MK developing around central Southern and Eastern areas by dwn some clear Spells at first for Scotland and Northern Ireland but then it gets increasing inly wet and windy from the Northwest with severe Gales likely to develop across the far Northwest of Scotland it will be

A cool night as well initially a patchy Frost likely under the clear skies tomorrow then wet and windy weather continues its Journey further eastwards and southwards across England across Scotland and Northern Ireland England and Wales on the other hand mostly fine and bright except for Northern England

That rain heading there later in the afternoon the northwest of Scotland becoming dry and brighter but it will feel cooler Southern Scotland Northern England Northern Ireland seen outbreaks of rain for the midaf afternoon the rest of England Welles mostly fine and bright and still feeling mild so feeling lovely and warm in any Sunshine times radio sponsors talk TV weather cheers NZ well let’s have another look through today’s papers with the news movements Rebecca Hudson and Fraser Meers from Spike welcome back both Fraser you’re going to kick us off with a story in the mail about diversity I’m leaving this to you because you’re

Up against it but this is just unbelievable my friend so there’s been a new uh report um the inclusion at work panel and it’s telling employers they should scrap their costly diversity programs um partly because a lot of you know a lot of the training a lot of the

Implicit bias tests are actually counterproductive we’ve known this for a while actually um all the research has shown that if you if you force employees to do an implicit bias test it can actually make people feel more racial resentment because you’re making people think about race and you would hope that

In the 21st century people don’t think about the race of their colleagues um you you’d want them to be colorblind another factor is that they could be possibly breaking a law if um they have diversity hiring schemes so a lot of firms have taken on this kind of us

Style um affirmative action believing that um it’s a good thing to you know prioritize certain candidates because of the color of their skin actually illegal in the UK so you’re allowed to have something called positive action but you cannot discriminate against uh viable candidates the other problem is that you

Know the public sector is spending an extraordinary amount of money on these diversity schemes um the spending in local councils has doubled uh in the past year and even in some of the most cash trapped councils like Birmingham they have um they’re hiring you know assistant diversity managers on on

Salaries like 100 Grand a year uh so it’s a good racket for while it lasts but hopefully it’ll be dismantled because I think it’s completely counterproductive it’s not doing the uh anti-racist work that it claims it is uh so it needs to be put a stop to Becca

Should we be colorblind or should we be aware of the differences between us and what ultimately unites as yeah I’m a big fan of acknowledging the intersex of kind of privilege and sort of you know the different experience that different people get depending on ethnicity socioeconomic background gender

Sexuality ability all that stuff so I I I can maybe buy the idea that these schemes are not the most effective way of doing it but I don’t think it discredits the the need to do this work in the workplace you know when you have you know big institutions like the

Metropolitan Police the Army banking legal system the media that come you know that we know have got huge problems with racism misogyny um all kinds of discriminatory Behavior we do need to remedy that in the workplace and so maybe these kind of um courses are not the most effective way for every

Workplace but I don’t think that that means that we should kind of you know ignore the need to acknowledge why diversity matters and how different people get to the table and make sure that workplaces look and sound like this country and the people that they’re trying to serve sure representative we

Had uh Major General chip Chapman on the other week he was talking about the importance of diversity in recruitment in the Army because for so long uh white workingclass men had been the target for those advertising campaigns and they were therefore missing out on a whole other demographic of society I think the

Point that Fraser made and which you acknowledged is right I think there’s an acknowledgement that that needs to be done right but I think it’s the way you do it and there are a lot of people that would look at these sorts of courses when they commission at this and think

What a waste of money beex can I get on can I say that a friend a friend of mine is a lesbian and she had to attend a uh a lecture on how to speak to lesbians and gay people and so she found it that’s but that that that makes a mockery doesn’t

It I mean it makes a mockery like the bloker wrote to Pierce Morgan a year ago and said that he know he’d worked with this woman for 12 years they were friends and one morning as I say to you every morning you look nice today and he

Got a WR warning for objectifying her sexuality I would like to get into the detail of that because I I I don’t believe that’s exactly what was said but we’ll talk about very nice dress today another day but context is key and all context no you can you can play it but

I’m making the point beex this next story for all of us really really important the Cyber flash your first one ever to be jailed in the United Kingdom yes I think we’re all I think we’ve talked about safe uh safety of young women and girls um we talk a lot about

On the show and I think we’re all agreed that more needs to be done and so yesterday a historic first for the legal system in England and Wales a guy called Nicholas Hawks was sentenced to 66 weeks which in kind of plain language is one year one month and one week in prison

For cyber flashing which is the sharing sending of unsolicited explicit images to he actually sent it to a a woman and a 15-year-old girl on WhatsApp um it’s been an offense in Scotland since 2010 it became an offense in England at the beginning of the year and he is the

First person to go through the legal system and this is kind of up there I think with kind of um all this kind of non-c context sexual assault is often the beginning and patterns of behavior that then result in people then becoming more Brave and emboldened in the kind of

Sexual assault and boundaries they push with women and can lead to the most extreme forms of violence you know we know Wayne cousins was flashing uh you know was was flashing in real life and then obviously went on to commit that H heinous crime so acknowledging um that

This sort of behavior is problematic and often leads to something far more extreme I think is really really important and also this guy probably shouldn’t have been in the community he was a conected convicted sex sex offender he was out on license he’d broken the terms of his bail so he

Shouldn’t have been in the community able to commit this crime and I think it reflects we need to take this bar more seriously and yesterday marks the beginning of us getting there you’d agree with that phaser well yeah I’m very glad to see this guy um behind bars

I guess the only thing that perplexes me is that is there really a need for a specific law I mean there’s been a flurry of laws you know cyber flashing but also laws against upskirting and you would think that laws against sexual harassment would be able to cover that

And if they can’t then there’s something wrong with those I’m I do worry that there’s there could be you know a tendency to think every new uh phenomenon we need a specific law against it a law is only as good as those who are applying it and if you

Know you look at the STA being put away well yeah exactly and if you look at the statistics and go okay well in this area the law is not actually being implemented I’m totally with you though um but yeah I I do understand why new rules and regulations come in in order

To clamp down on this but it’s happened to me I was just saying earlier can you yeah what know if you’re going to tell this listen we have our moments but this is absolutely outrageous it’s really common place as well sadly really um yeah but on the tube um because you

Often don’t get signal in some areas um some men um have been sending rude photographs to on their airdrop which is like a Bluetooth feature that means anybody sort of in the carriage would have received it it happened to me and it just said oh someone wants to send

You a photo and I’d never had it before and I thought oh what’s this I clicked on it and it was you know an explicit photo lot very very difficult was somebody set it would have been somebody within probably a 10 m radius so I guess

This person was kind of getting off on the fact that it’s a I was looking at a picture of their penis um and I love that’s how my mother used to say you know you said your friend was elizan my mother used to do this you you’ve just

Done that you know well yes um but it’s yeah I think it’s they definitely definitely should crack down and it’s good to hear F can we move on the express page seven I’m just going to not comast Faith leaders including the Archbishop of Canterbury and demanding a shakeup of our broken Asylum system

Welby who sits in the House of Lords has been a leading critic of the Rwanda policy I’m also a Critic of the Rwanda policy but I think Justin WBY should look a bit inward at some of the problems in his own church but maybe I’m you know maybe I’m old-fashioned well

Yes I think I think W’s right we do need a a shakeup of the Asylum system but perhaps he is one of the faults or his church is one of the key problems with the Asylum system uh given that they’ve been allowing um Asylum Seekers to convert to Christianity on mass uh often

On very dubious uh pretenses and that has allowed them to stay in the UK I mean most infamously we had the case of Abdul aidi the uh acid attacker uh who had converted to Christianity actually he converted to two churches he’ converted in both the Protestant and a

Catholic Church he was double wanted to double his chances of of being allowed to stay uh we had the uh emad Alman who people might remember tried to attack the um mother’s unit in Liverpool Hospital also converted to Christian ity We Believe on juus Browns given that he

Still had his Islamic prayer map when they found his home so yes perhaps Justin will we should look England I also think there’s just generally a problem with um why are there Bishops in the House of Lords why should uh religious clerics get an additional say uh over everyone else if they’re not

Elected we’re the only country outside of Iran that makes this special provision uh for religious clerics and we’re not I love having you on this we’re not a religious country lots of calls for Asylum seeking and migrants to actually integrate in society I understand if doing under false

Pretenses Etc but ultimately isn’t it at the very heart of Christianity the story of Jesus that one should be welcoming to those who are seeking but those people are very good examples aren’t they that was also a really good example that I just yes exactly absolutely but well but wellby

Wellby is really a good example of I mean there’s a bigger issue here should and we can all have an opinion should he Wade in so often or deal with the own mess in his own sh serious question well he’s empowered to isn’t he he’s in the

House of Lords whether he should be or not I think is is a question to debate and also testing the efficacy or the you know the the sincerity of someone’s religious conversion is pretty difficult to do but what he says we would all agree with he’s saying let’s make sure

That people in this country for over six months are able to work so that they can contribute to the economy which I think we’d all want he’s also saying more support should be given to the communities that house uh refug we agree you knowel you know so what he’s saying

Is actually very very fair he’s not saying you know let’s let everyone come here and come by our and all that stuff he’s actually saying by well he’s not is is that him um you know he’s he’s actually saying what we’d all agree with you know let’s support the communities

Who have to support these people and let’s um support the people that need to come here I think it’s all very fair do you have time for one more or do we have to the the oh the voice in the ear voice please take your seats ladies and

Gentlemen we’re about to land thank you so much on Rebecca and Fraser they will be back uh with more papers in just under an hour while sticking with the government handling of Asylum Seekers now because the home office’s plan for larger sites for housing migrants is expected to cost 1.2 billion pounds

That’s according to a National Audit office report and that report which came out today says that the government has reduced the number of hotels used for migrant accommodation but check this has incurred losses in the move to establish larger sites well joining us now is human rights lawyer David ha David good

Morning what’s your take on the figures in this report good morning to you both I mean I there was a rainy day in Coral yesterday so I read the full report and it’s it’s it’s 52 pages of evidence of eyering incompetence the figures are breathtaking when you look at the

Figures in terms of how much money has been spent and how much money is has been wasted um I I mean they literally eyering in terms of also in terms of things like over budget when you look at think the some of the scampton um and other camps that were budgeted for an

Example to cost 5 million have ended up costing 46 49 million crazy figures in terms of over budgeting overspending um it’s it’s an absolute chaos I mean I David it’s so good to have you on you know I sound like a broken record I I know that there will be things that you

And I would disagree on I stick my head above the parit every day and say yes of course as a country we should take genuine refugees but I will forever I I do not understand my friend how successive governments not just this one have managed to get us to a point where

We have absolutely no processing system we’ve got 170,000 people in this country whether we know about them or we don’t know about them either getting benefits hotel rooms going on the Biby stock home because as the fifth most successful and financially successful country in the world we haven’t got a processing system

It’s an utter disgrace the money should be spent on I don’t know how you do it I don’t have that stuff either destroying the home office and starting again or starting with a new unit that processes people and if you are not and if if there is not a good reason you haven’t

Come from a war torn country then you have to go back the government to me David genuinely should have worked out a processing system and come up with far more returns agreements with other countries other than Albania wouldn’t be in this mess do you not agree absolutely

Jeremy it’s a complete disaster I mean I think one of the the key lines in this report and you know for anyone that’s got a spare hour it really is well worth a read of seeing how bad things are the report and I’ll quote it says the home

Office did not understand the challenges its face that’s that’s from the National Audit office so not just our government but also the home office is is effectively not fit for purpose in in in terms of Asylum and that’s that’s a real real problem that we’ve got and and like

You said these things should have been planned they should be in place it shouldn’t be that difficult to House people safely it shouldn’t cost the amount of money that it’s costing um and shouldn’t be that difficult for successive governments to have said right we’ll house the people legally and

We’ll get rid of the people that what I don’t understand I don’t understand I mean the audit office is saying the home office isn’t fit for purpose why hasn’t a politician stood up in the last 10 years and gone I’m going to start 2.0 home office because it doesn’t work I’m

Not sure it is successive governments I understand there has there have been issues but particularly when you look at the small boats crisis that that didn’t really exist before 2016 but I want to ask you David as a human rights lawyer how much do you feel that here in the UK

We are guilty of using Asylum Seekers and migrants illegal migrants as a scapegoat to blame problems in the country when in fact we should be turning towards like you said reports like this that claim that the home office actually is unfit for purpose and doesn’t really know how to set a budget

Or how to spend its money correctly I think I think we’re seeing you know I think you know obviously the British taxpayer here is is is a victim of this incompetence but also genuine Asylum Seekers there are genuine Asylum Seekers there was a a young lady that

Contacted me a while back um and and she’s from Saudi she’s been on the waiting list for instance for a year and a half it’s on the face of it very clearly that she should be successful at Asylum some of the things that are happening now because we’re vilifying

Asylum Seekers all of them um genuine ones and obviously the people coming across for commercial reasons is that the genuine ones have been harmed her case was rushed through obviously for Richie to to to perhaps meet targets um and rejected when it even on the face of

It it really shouldn’t have been D isn’t that an interesting analogy though my friend picking up Nicholas’s Point you’re saying that because the the the genu are being rushed through that we’re vilifying the other side of the argument would say that actually we’re allowing people to stay here who shouldn’t stay

Here but it does it not all guys come back to the same thing we don’t have an effective processing system if you’re genuine stay if you don’t go I don’t understand it I’m being told absolutely yeah absolutely I mean I’m seeing genuine people coming coming across my

Desk that really even very cursory look at their application should be granted should be granted assignment it shouldn’t take a year and a like it did in the case of this lady um you know and I’m also seeing people that shouldn’t be here being granted Asylum that shouldn’t

Be that difficult we should be able to process applications in this country in a couple of weeks if we put the right resources on and then that will have a a you know a knockdown effect as well but we just haven’t done it and you know

This report as well talks about the home office’s new 10year plan where was the last one exactly so speaking of the home office we had a right reply from them which says we’ve always been clear that the use of Asylum hotels is unacceptable that’s why we acted swiftly to reduce

The impact on local communities while the nao’s figures include setup costs it’s currently better value for money for the taxpayer to continue with these sites than to use Hotel not fit for purpose David he not you I’m talking about the home office thank you very much indeed coming up next she’s here oh

Shabana Hearn 10 hards going yes good morning Manchester United owner sir Jim Ratcliffe wants England boss GIS Southgate to manage the Red Devil that’s on that that’s say the club’s teenage star kobby minu gets his first senior call up for England and World rugby is mulling a radical trial

China when JK Rowling says let’s just be honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman is not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have

To go much further than his statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’d need to say that he’ got Sor wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from PR city council lovely

Woman called Anna and yeah i’ just received an email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge quite right too quite right too it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled

Out you might as well be discussing an invasion of DARS for all I really get this but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my 8 pound noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m

Just about to do it it’s carry on what just happened were missing there was a suggestion by some that maybe it would nice to put statue of the queen on the fourth PL Mr khah apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know what’s I know what’s coming

And I can’t stop laughing so he suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t there also a prostitute a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in chaga Square you just got to walk up to Soho why do you know this because I know

Everything uh was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in an ice cream store I read the statement this morning from the family

And if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying is heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots of racism within it I don’t NE think it’s a racist country but it permeates

Our institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was 22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist did fail her was she was 22

We’re supposed to have moved on from that don’t Hawk back on something you did that was wrong TV it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back to your talk today it is 7:52 now sjim rli has made England boss Gareth South Southgate sorry his favorite to lead his planned Revolution

For Man United and meanwhile 18-year-old United midfielder Kobe Manu is handed his first SE Ni Call up here with all the sport and a man united fan straight to jaban Hearn Gareth Southgate out in the bin I’m joking I mean I like Gareth Southgate good manager solid man who’ you want zadan

Sadan the job mate give me a winner why would he why would he go to a club that’s not even in the Champions League hold on a second who stay in creaking whose players are rubbish come on he won a conference league and he’s chucking it like this European Champions deal with it

Listen I think GIS Southgate like I say is a good manager but eight and a half years at England to have not won a trophy no shade offered here he does the right thing in the Dugout he brings a good squad of players together however the links here should not be ignored Dan

Ashworth as we know is coming to Manchester United sporting director very close with Gareth sir Jim Ratcliffe we know has a Keen Eye on Southgate too now if GTH Southgate in England win the Euros in the summer which by the way you should you’re the Front Runners for this

Competition well you know we won’t we’ll go out on penalties to Kazakhstan or something the 88th minute therefore I would be very underwhelmed if come July Gada Southgate was in the Dugo at Manchester United does all of this actually give answer to the question that I posed yesterday 10 hugs a dead

Man walking isn’t he listen he’s still in the FA Cup things have been good I mean we’re talking about Kobe May next getting his first you van on the day won the FA Cup listen stranger things have happened but I think there’s so much change at Manchester United having a bit

Of stability in The Dugout in the summer is a good thing he’s got a great young croper players coming through he’s got a good eye for talent but some of his signing has gone have gone off Anthony for example but they’ve got people in those jobs now so I think there’s a lot

Of change at the top there’s a lot of change in the back there 10 haging The Dugout players will go through brick wals for them look at the FA Cup at the weekend against Liverpool it’s the first game in a long time we have gone they worked their backsides off for their

Manager they’re not very consistent no I I think he will go but there you go Kobe Mano 18 stunned by his England call up I mean 18 years old he was there with the under 21s when he got a text um from Steve Holland saying why don’t you come

And meet he in reception Steve told him you’ve got a call up you’re going to up to the seniors now nobody has been put out of the squad there is a little bit of an injury concern over Jordan Henderson but there’s some brilliant stories on cobby and the papers today

Where he’s come from the kind of player that he is best mates with aleandro garnacho um not parking with the players car park sh because he doesn’t see himself fit to be in with them taking the long route into training only loves water it’s his favorite drink me and him

Alike he won’t be tempted by the champagne lifestyle so he’s a very very you drink water jeez come on water wine you know me um but but that’s the thing 18 years young there’s a bit of kind of debate today in the news is age of

Number here is he ready is it too much pressure but I think he’s a smart young man putting him in this squad of players just to develop and observe will be a good thing and the future for England looks so bright well we’ve only got 20 seconds but tell us quickly about the

World rugby uh test for 20 minute red card yes a 20 minute red card would see a player replaced by a substitute after 20 minutes so this is a radical change what would be coming to rugby they’re trying to change the game they’re trying to excite new fans they’re trying to

Move the game on to a different pace they have to make these changes to engage more fans 20 minute red card could be interesting shabanah a man united fan thank you so much indeed coming up next from a presenter whose team is European Champion the hospital that treated the Princess of Wales very

Important stor supported or reported even a security breach all of that and all this is talk today we’re coming back in three and please to join us because it will still be sat here on our own Thanks hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online and we’re on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to AB an eeve IT me old Chinas but a new report is calling for a new definition of

Cotney all right Jeremy me old China o Tre go when JK Rowling says let’s just be honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman not a woman transwoman is a man lee would

Lawrenc over reports that hospital staff tried to access the princess of wales’s medical records a sign of growth inflation figures fall from 3.4% Full to 3.4% sorry down from 4% the chancellor says it sets the seen for better economic conditions and remains ambitious about the country’s future

Counting the costs there are claims this morning that government plans to house Asylum seekers in large sites rather than hotels would cost you and me my friends an extra 46 million and Mild for many today sunshine for some but rain and showers for others I’ll have the full details in the

Forecast very soon cheers now now it’s time for your headlines with Emily thank you Nicola good morning UK inflation has fallen to its lowest level for 2 and a half years figures from the office for National statistics show that the price of goods and services fell to 3.4% in

February down from 4% in January and the lowest since September 2021 meanwhile tomorrow the bank of England’s widely expected to hold interest rates at 5.25% well Danny Houston the head of financial analysis at AJ Bell has told talk today it’s a positive sign yeah it

Is good news um we were expecting 3 5% remember it held firm at 4% last month which sort of set things on a bit of a wobble with lots of people maybe thinking that interest rates those crucial Bank of England rates might not fall as far and as fast as we had been

Thinking so yeah 3.4% it is the lowest level in over two years bosses at a hospital where the Princess of Wales was treated have launched an investigation following claims that staff tried to access her private medical records the security breach happened at the London clinic in January where reports suggest

At least one member of Staff tried to access Kate’s notes while she was a patient undergoing surgery there the hospital is known for treating politicians and celebrities the data Watchdog is assessing the report our Royal editor Sarah Houston’s told talk today the royal family were informed immediately obviously we’re told that

Kensington Palace were made aware as soon as the allegations were raised why this is coming out now we don’t know uh whether it is been known about and they’ve been trying to keep it uh Under Wraps I don’t know but it is very very serious indeed because you know you are

At your most vulnerable when you are in hospital hopes of a cure for HIV have moved a step closer after scientists successfully eliminated the disease from infected cells the team from the University of Amsterdam say they Ed Nobel prize winning crisper Gene editing technology to cut DNA so affected Parts

Can be removed the chancellor has suggested a general election could be held in October speaking in the House of Lords Jeremy Hunt said the treasury would need time to push through a review of whiteall budgets before next spring making an October date the last possible month an election could be held and

Broaster Tony Blackburn will be made an OB in a ceremony at Windsor Castle today the 81-year-old presenter has appeared on BBC and Commercial radio stations for nearly six decades and became the first DJ on BBC Radio 1 when it launched in 1966 7 he’ll be honored for his services

To broadcasting and to charity you’re up to date I’ll have more headlines in an hour uh thank you very much indeed that gives us all a chance six decades well Tony Blackburn was the first person to say that I should go into broadcasting I was being interviewed I he should be

Given an obbe I think you should be pinched off however ladies and gentlemen Nicola Thorp doesn’t know what I’m about to say at 4 minutes past 8 Miss Nicola Thorp has an announcement and now you’re saying your exits are here here here and here she’s joined easy jet in her jacket if you’re

On the radio we’ve marked up the studio an airline we’re playing the music and what what have you got for breakfast this morning a tea coffee me nothing AB a dry Quant and nothing else this can I say these are blackpool’s colors this is the seasiders Blackpool she’s lying she’s just come

From custody in guantan MO Bay anyway it’s 4 minutes past dat a very good morning to you wherever you are listen you you do that with anything yeah absolutely what you want next we need to make use of that all right we’re going to begin with that and this is an

Important Point actually and it’s not just about the RS it sort of created a whole debate about privacy disturbing news overnight that the hospital that treated the Princess of Wales has launched an investigation into claims that at least one member of Staff tried to access a medical records one Insider

Told the mirror that the palace was immediately informed but it’s incredibly damaging for the clinic which is also treated former presidents Prime Ministers and celebrities while editor at large of the mail on Sunday Charlotte Griffith joined joins us now Charlotte good morning it’s a real breach of

Privacy for the Princess of Wales isn’t it it’s a huge breach of privacy and as your R said it’s when she’s at her most vulnerable and she was at the peak of her recovery it was back in January that this happened so imagine getting that news when you just recovered from an

Operation it must have been absolutely mortifying for her and extremely mortifying for the hospital because this is the hospital that Prides itself on privacy I mean of course all hospitals do but particularly the London Clinic which is also Al treating the king at the same time so it’s a total and utter

Disaster all around really and and we’ll talk about I’ll talk about Kate in a sec and the continuing Ferrari but I think there’s an important point that Sarah Houston made earlier everybody whoever you are the king queen down to whatever it’s a private matter I’m not saying

That if somebody had stolen her a data that anybody any newsp nobody would have published if we had Kinsey scoffield on earlier Charlotte I don’t know if you heard and she was saying that people online in America are saying their influences and they knew about this there’s obviously you know there’s

Obviously talk but it’s a disgusting intrusion of one’s privacy irrespective of who you are right it’s illegal yeah it doesn’t matter whether you’re at an NHS hospital or the most you know exclusive Hospital in England it’s a total and utter you know breach of her privacy and this is a family that’s of

Course OB obsessed with their privacy quite rightly and especially William William would have been absolutely Furious because he’s incredibly protective over Kate and I’m I’m actually just with a doctor here uh where I am at the moment and she was saying that um you know if you’re a

Doctor you can’t even look at your own medical records you can’t just sort of check your own medical records because the the rules are so incredibly strict around these things very so yeah it’s a terrible breach do you think that the royal family should have done something differently here Kensington Palace or

The Wider Royal firm and announced that somebody else perhaps was going to be taking over Kate’s role in those three months that she was away to try and stop this kind of speculation and the demands for access to photographs of her and more information I don’t think they should have announced

A replacement for her but perhaps in hindsight and don’t forget this is quite unprecedented for Kensington Palace to deal with um I think in hindsight they could have done what they did with K the King which is be pretty open about what’s wrong with her now she is quite

Private and she doesn’t want the details to come out of her operation but they could have maybe given us a little bit more of a direction other than abdominal surgery can I jump in I I you know I love you and I and I agree with you but

Sure I I think they played It Wrong by the way I think that and I said this to Nick from the beginning if you say we’re hearing nothing between now until the end of Easter stick to that but unfortunately because the world’s changed because the royal family need to

If you like encourage a younger generation they got wound up by everybody having their say but let me put the scenario you just said if they’d been specific and I have a very strong opinion of what operation she had and there is no way on God’s Earth that I

Would ever say that here only to my closest friends and family but if they’d put that there would have been more speculation surely this started unfortunately with a well-intentioned photo I think I think they should have just left it like that but even this overnight was saying earlier this adds

To the Ferrari this is just another part of a story that won’t go away and we were saying yesterday on the show it’s the most Googled thing in America more than Biden and Trump together that’s how people are desperate to know about this woman who I personally think is the

Future of the British Monarchy and I think that’s half the issue yeah I mean she must feel so trapped because we’re all entitled to three months off I mean at one point in our entire lives or our entire careers for a very specific and and important reason and she’s what she’s learned here

Is that she can’t actually take substantial time off and she might be of you know she might be on the throne uh you know for years and years to come and she just knows now that she can never take a break but to your earlier point about her having a replacement I think

If they actually replaced her and said we’ve been pointed say Sophie wesex and her place I think that would have fueled speculation as well because we’d be thinking gosh how ill is she that she needs an understudy or she needs somebody to step in for her AG what

You’re say photo just left it I just think it’s an impossible one I don’t think you can win I think that whatever you you don’t say enough we want more you say a little bit we want more we say too much you’re going to be hiding

Something it’s like I don’t know it does the devil in the deep blue sea um do you think this is at an end I mean overnight the story about the the Privacy things and we’ve made the point that’s illegal for everybody do you think this is just going to be a

Continual fighting fire with fire I mean is this going to carry on or is it going to subside now do you think I think I don’t think it’s gonna subside until we see Kate perhaps on Easter Sunday doing a walkout with the Royals unfortunately for her I just don’t think it’s going to

Subside until she’s back at work and you know that’s probably a quite a daunting Prospect for somebody who’s recovering from a serious operation but honestly I think when we see her on walkouts when we see her like we’ve seen Prince William over the last few days engaging

With the public again doing what they do best uh talking normally making little offthe cuff remarks then we’ll all be reassure that you know she’s back she’s fine she’s back to her old self but unfortunately until then I just think it’s going to be one thing after another

And it must feel totally overwhelming for her right now with this latest thing yet another thing to be worrying about well thank you so much Charlotte griffi there for joining us from the mail on Sunday I just want to show you the front page of the Daily Star today which I

Think is an excellent headline it says World goes mad after woman goes shopping I think that’s been summarized quite succinctly completely thank you for all your comments just a few because I noticed we’ve been really busy this morning Ivon says it’s disgusting that people think the Princess of Wales is

Not entitled to Medical privacy course she should be it is it’s illegal as is everybody yeah Mike says princess Katherine’s medical records are private and no one has the right to access them without her consent um well yeah I mean and also the medical need to I’m sure uh

This is deplorable and abusive absolutely barbaric Richard if you remove from this equation to access patient notes without consent is illegal and breaches the data protection act anyone who does this should be prosecuted hard enough to find my own medical notes I’ll tell you that from

I’ve seen them talk y geez talk today at talk they’ll be online later talk today at talk. TV t287 treble 2 um don’t forget by the way if you’d like to text us what you’d like on this morning’s flight with your EasyJet attendant Miss Nicola th thank you Captain my Captain

Hey should I put my hat on for you I don’t know what happening this morning KRA on let’s take another look at some of this morning’s front pages all dominated by the Princess of Wales of course the mirror leads with that exclusive Revelation that the staff at

The London Clinic tried to access the Princess of Wales private medical records the hospital has reportedly launched an investigation into the allegations The Sun Also continue with their coverage of William and Kate pictur of that local Farm shop in Windsor as they speak to the dad who spotted the couple dismissing wild

Conspiracy theories over her absence and in the telegraph a warning from kemy badok that the diversity drive has backfired as the business secretary raises concerns that inclusion policies have come at the expense of white men well moving on to politics now save the date why Jeremy what for you about to

Tell me oh right the chancellor has hinted I don’t think think it was a Hint it was absolutely laid out October general election he was speaking at the Lord’s committee John you’re speaking in my ear by the way just not your fault um he was a Lord’s committee yesterday um

My my dear friends Freddy and Alice and and he sort of drops this October the second thing and everybody went it was done deliberately wasn’t it I think so yes I think the government I think number 10 are uh Keen to fire the stter gun on the election right but they want

Good news they want a good week to do it in they want to feel they got some momentum behind them they were hoping this week would be a good week but there’s no such thing as a good week for this government because everybody can’t stand them the media increas are all

Against them uh they have you know there’s good news on inflation today but nobody cares uh you see I you see I’m like that and people tell me no you’re being negative this is good it’s down at 3.4% it’s one of his five things nobody’s looking at a shopping Bill

Thinking all this feels cheaper exactly uh nobody’s feeling that their wages have gone up with inflation um and then Rwanda we’re going to talk about the Randa plan for another month or so and nobody cares about that anymore they care about the fact that immigration is a problem they don’t think that Rwanda

Plan is a solution no absolutely not I believe we’ve got footage of Jeremy Hunt yesterday we’ve got a clip of him suggested that a general election could be held in October watch his eyes have a listen this particular spending review uh has to be complete before next uh

April when the next financial year starts um and of course if the general election is in October that will mean it’s very very tight and that is why we’re thinking in advance Alice I I think that was nailed on it it did look fairly deliberate I have to say

But I think most people watching that were just think October gez how many more months of this rip the bandage off now guys yeah I and I I think even I think even Tory voters feel exactly the same we feel like we’re sort of sleep walking towards nothing does that is

That a is that a yes I think Tory voters want a party that they will vote for again and they don’t want to vote for this government because they feel this government has gone against everything they promised do you really think that any proportion of the UK will have their

Opinions changed between now and October what could happen What couldn’t happen would make make that I mean we have seen in the past that election campaigns can really change things everyone talks about 2017 Theresa May went in expecting huge majority and during the campaign she completely fell apart so it’s

Entirely possible that something like that could happen happen that things could turn around that labor implode over a campaign um but equally the opposite could happen you know actually people forget that rishy sunak is not a particularly experienced campaigner he had an extremely precipitous rise to the

Top and actually will the scrutiny of the campaign expose some of his weaknesses so you know I think at the moment you can see why the government wants to cling on hoping that something will turn up but at the moment I think everyone’s just sick you make a really

Good point about about campaigning I mean I I I said three years ago I could have written that one online for Boris Johnson get brexit done that’s not difficult what what does sunak go out and say well the country’s broken nothing works I’m incompetent and uh we’re a joke internationally vote

Conservative I mean and that is from somebody who would have thought was brought up to think the Tor is that I say every day shrewd fiscal economy good military you know strong internationally immigration under control service no yeah and I think what the problem is I think the one advantage that perhaps the

Conservatives do have is the weakness of Labor’s vision for the country and we saw Rachel Reeves give this big lecture in the city last night about her economic vision and all we heard was just a return to the failed policies of the past to big state to an active

Government to picking winners and and I think this that is the government’s only hope is that labor will melt upon the the idea of a lab government will melt upon contact with reality I mean you do have David Lamy potentially coming as foreign secretary which is a joke why is

It a joke because his foreign policy is a joke I mean he’s much more interested in hate to use the word woke but sort of Wok’s posturing I mean he’s now trying to say that he would work with Donald Trump but this is a man who uh you know

Led a campaign against Donald Trump on the streets he’s a he’s a media man he’s not a foreign secretary but what specific policy do you think was was woke uh what not refusing to talk to Donald Trump is that work saying well saying that he wouldn’t talk to Donald

Trump as foreign secretary but why is that woke I’m just confusing well because because it’s a popular cause right yeah it’s it’s something that would go down well can I can I bring it back to Reeves to both of you actually we’ve moved on from inflation I I we

Were saying yesterday on the show weren’t we that that her being invited to do this speech to business wasn’t really about meet on the bone it was about saying to business we’re competent and I said yesterday what so we’re I mean the labor party now to me is

Sounding more and more like what the Tory party used to sound like there she is last night front of the eye today I really would love this Reeves we won’t repeat the mistakes of new labor now let’s just give some credit it was only for years ago that Jeremy Corbin and his

Odious bunch at momentum were running a you know a labor party that was by by all accounts in appalling anti-semitic and whatever I mean this woman right I mean that is an extraordinary thing they are in such a powerful position she can talk about 1979 and Margaret thater she

Can diss Tony Blair we all know about the war but essentially Blair at the beginning was popular is this short footedness is this just they know it’s a done deal because it’s the view from the cheap seats and I’m not crying they might do a better job the view from the

Cheap seats is always easier isn’t it this is triangulation she’s on as you said on the one hand trying to sort of uh reassure businesses by mentioning Margaret thatch and on the other hand trying to reassure the left of her party by saying that they’re going to spend

Tons of uh tons of government money on industries that they particularly favor and taxing the rich it’s it’s pure triangulation it’s not a vision so do stay with us at Freddy and Alice because speaking of those inflation figures let’s head back to our talk today correspondent Nick Elby who’s been

Getting the reaction from the people of BBY Nick how are they feeling about the cost of their weekly shot morning Nick morning Jeremy so you know heard your guest in the St Studio talking about those price Rises slowing down but actually people not feeling it in their pocket and that’s exactly the

Reaction I’m getting here in Grimsby Shoppers telling me that actually they feel quite frustrated that the companies are are quick to put the prices up when inflation goes up and fuel goes up but not so quick to bring them down and and it seems a lot of people I’ve spoken to

This morning are really shopping very very carefully looking for deals buying cheaper products and cutting back on luxuries and just being very very SE uh sensible uh we’ve spoken to a few Shoppers this morning and here’s what they told us about those prices and their shopping habits at the moment our

Price average is about 160 a week it used to be about 110 so it’s really gone up in price we noticed the difference and we have to go for um not so good brand because we can’t afford them so I’ve noticed a couple so I have noticed that

When somebody wants to bring the price of something down like say I buy these salmon fillets like a value range uh they brought the price down but put one less fillet in it so you can see the changes that people are making I’ve got a a shopper

Here is uh Andrew John Winters is from CLE thorps is a retiree Andrew just tell us about those prices and changes you’ve making to your weekly shop I’m I’m definitely just looking for the cheapest products it’s the slightly cheaper supermarkets um they put the prices up when inflation was riding very

High last year but they’re just not fetching them down the the prices are still very similar to when inflation was um higher up about a year ago okay and just finally Jeremy I know this is going to interest you Andrew just tell me what you were telling me about rishy sunak

And Boris Johnson Grimsby went blue at the last election just tell me what you you said to me just a second ago I do not think Richie sunak doing a very good job at all as a conservative prime minister and um I for one would dly love

To see Boris Johnson back um at the next general election because um I thought T was doing the better job okay Andrew thank you so much so there you go so someone here saying that actually if they deploy Boris here in the north of England maybe he will have an effect on

That next general election guys my best that well-intentioned a switched on human being Nick thank you straight back to Freddy and Alice couple of other big stories today like your take on both of them starting with this Asylum accommodation cost it’s a National Audit office report which says this desire to

Move away from hotels 8 million a day this amount of money we’re going to go to the big things BBY stockhom and all that that’s costing an extra 46 million and still we haven’t got a processing system yes well this is much more important really than anything that

Might or might not happen between the Lords and the commons on the Rwanda plan today it’s the fact that the government can’t get it spent depending on immigration under control and this was clearly an attempt to bring it under control it’s possible actually that some of these are front-loaded costs and

Actually the bills will go down because it’s about developing these massive sites to store uh illegal migrants on uh but the point is is that we spent uh 1.2 billion on it which is an enormous enormous sum of money uh and all the complaints about hotels are just washed

Away now by an even worse cost Alice do you think it was about cutting costs or about getting headlines um I think it was both I mean I actually think to be fair to the government I think these were upfront costs of setting up these things you can’t just put people on a

Barge as we saw it was full of leria they had they had a lot of setup costs and you have to remember that the pressure to get people out of hotels how unpopular and what damage having these people in hotels was doing to communities so I actually think this is

More of just a kind of just one of the many errors we often see in in modeling and projecting how much things are going to cost and I think cost probably will come down in the long term and especially if these big locations can act as a deterrent because we’ve seen that the

Idea of kind of coming over illegally in the channel and being immediately put up in a hotel is to some extent fact but it doesn’t with respect it might be less of an eyesa except by the way for the people who live in those communities and you made that point earlier Nick who

Have retired or spent their Liv saving to be met with that it doesn’t get away from the fact that if this government or any government spent more time starting again with the home office and more time getting returns agreements as they did with Albania we wouldn’t have 170,000

People in this country a majority or minority I don’t know a number of whom shouldn’t be here that’s what winds the British public up fact yeah I think that’s right and I think the delays in processing Asylum applications and and just the the backlogs in the home office

We’re s um if they’re supposed to be used as a deterrent and if the Rwanda plan is supposed to be used as a deterrent why do we need these large scale facilities in the first place well because the deterrent hasn’t come in yet oh but we’re them three grand now to go

Aren’t we uh we’ll we’ll do anything I’ve got a friend who his job he said I’m going to take three go to Rwanda for three months for Holiday I think Richie tunak genuinely believes that as soon as he starts getting sort of bottoms on seats on the plane that somehow his all

His immigration policies you come from an organization that’s you know to the right a little bit does that not to you is that not utterly dered and shows completely the incompetence of Richie sunk uh and this government generally yes well though it wasn’t a plan that came

In under richy CA well yes but I mean Boris probably would have changed it by now bis Boris yes Boris things are happening Maneuvers are happening that’s all I’m saying well Don it Cummings who was of course you know behind Boris at that time always said that R the plan

Was a was meant to be a distraction he said a lot of things coming didn’t he the other thing is and Vic Vic I’ve called you Vic now that’s his wife’s name just so that you can be a bit disturbed anyway Nick and I uh smoking band build today uh introduced today

Love to know your thoughts on this um the tobacco and Vapes bill will be introduced to Parliament later the bill proposes that children turning 15 this year my son Henry by the way March or younger will never legally be able to be sold tobacco Alice tell me what what to

Me Nanny State I hate this policy I think it’s total Nanny State as you say I don’t know why a conservative government is doing this on the one hand and at the same time saying that rapes are a great alternative and acquitting Aid to smoking doctors can prescribe

Them I think it’s absurd the idea that you have you know a 16-year-old can buy one and a 15-year old can’t and that that ratchets up and up and and I just think on principle I don’t think one generation should be able to deny something to another that

They themselves uh are able to access do you think that we should legalize class A drugs then oh that’s a completely different question do you think so because far fewer people die from class A drugs and they do from tobacco I think the question that vaping is a safer

Alternative to Tobacco not not vaping I’m talking about tobacco here because Vapes isn’t introducing the smoking ban yeah I probably would legalize class A drugs do you see what I mean it’s like but but I mean that is much that’s a much more difficult political question

When you talk about Nanny State uh I think the the real the real issue sort of from an we’re talking about the election in October who’s going to go into the ballot in October and think I’m going to vote for rushy sunak because he banned smoking for future Generations

Nobody nobody and I go on about it every day immigration I promise you pound in your pocket potholes in your roads you can talk about the Middle East we can all see what’s happening you can talk about the threat from Russia you can talk about inflation it when you get in

That Booth it’s about you and what you think fascinating guys thank you so much indeed sh we got to move on but we have to leave themed thank you so much Freddy Gray from The Spectator and Alice deby from City am still to come on talk today three quarters of women feel

Uncomfortable sharing political views online over trolling fears I’ll tell you some stories Jeremy Scary World out there and $8 million that’s how much money American footballer Travis Kelce spent wooing Taylor Swift $8 million to get out with Taylor Swift is that worth it yes the news movements Rebecca and

Fraser Myers from are back to take us through the papers next it is 8:26 we’ll see you in a few minutes how much did your boyfriend Spend hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online and we’re on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to AB an EV it me old Chinas but a new repor is calling for a new definition of

Cck name all right Jeremy me old China o o Tre go when JK Rowling says let’s just be honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman is not a

Woman transwoman is a man lee would have to go much further than his statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’d need to say that he got it wrong then I had a phone call this

Morning um from PR City Council lovely woman called Anna and yeah i’ I just received an email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge right quite right too it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for

UK security after moaning he’d been singled out May might as well be discussing an invasion of darx for all I really get but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my eight pound noia reluctantly kicking and screaming I’m I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you

Probably know what are you doing I just about to do it oh it’s carry on what just happen missing there was a suggestion by some that maybe it would nice to put a statue of the queen on the fourth BL Mr KH apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m

Sorry I know it’s I know it’s coming and I can’t stop laughing so he suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t there also a prostitute oh a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in choga square you just got to walk up to

Soos Why do you know this because I know everything was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in

An ice cream store I read the statement this morning from the family and if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying it’s heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots

Of racism within it I don’t NE think it’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was 22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the

Feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist did fail her she was 22 we supposed to have moved on from that don’t honk back on something you did that was wrong don’t see it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back to your talk today it

Is 8:30 we’ll have the weather in just a moment but here’s what else is coming up on the program one peer has left the house of Lords confused only one after telling them he didn’t report his wife’s stolen credit card the reason because she the thief spent less than her

There’s so many men that are going to love this story that’s in the papers next now the anti-smoking bill goes to Parliament today meaning people turning 15 this year and everyone born after them will never be able to legally buy tobacco that’s at 8:40 it’s the time

Thing is weird and this is guaranteed sorry Mike Gro to send me through the roof is it selfish for parents to spend their money on holidays and cars instead of saving it to pass on to their entitled undeserving kids we’ll debate that at 8:45 of course not but first NZ

What’s the weather looking like um it’s not looking as uh crazy as all those things that you were talking about um it’s looking spring like actually today is the first day of spring my daffodils are out that’s nice to know yeah it’s because it’s incredibly mild and wet I didn’t plant

Them why you laughing why’d you raise your eyes when I said ma daffodils are no reason NZ please save me I’m not sure if that’s meant to be an inuendo it’s not I was just honestly at this point I think anything is an innuendo with Jeremy Kyle yeah it’s looking pretty moist Today times radio sponsors talk TV weather good morning morning mild once again for today and over the next 24 hours or so but gradually it’s turning colder into this weekend and as we continue to see rain or showers coming through as it hits that cold air we are

Likely to see wintry showers and some Hill snow into the weekend as well with the return of frost but before then it’s a mild start out this morning but it’s also quite a dull start with lots of rain about just uh edging southwards from parts of Southern Scotland and

Northern Ireland into the north and west of England and Wales so as it does clear southwards we will see brighter Skies develop from the Northwest across the far south there’s also mist and MK that’s gradually clearing for Central Southern and Eastern parts of England and Wales so as I said that rain eases

Its way Southward becoming light and patchy in nature as it also moves a bit eastwards into the North Sea so sunny skies for Scotland this afternoon a few showers in the East so that are currently across the far Northwest and actually with light winds compared to yesterday it will feel pleasantly warm

In the sunshine Northern Ireland will also see sunny skies and mainly dry conditions as well as a mild feeling day but England and Wales generally quite cloudy a bit of sunshine though in the Southeast I think where we could see temperatures locally up to around 16

Dees C yesterday we got close to 17 so well above average for the time of year the average is around 10 or 11 degrees celsus the patchy rain though will affect much of Wales the Midlands and Eastern England clearing from northern England later and then heading down towards the southeast overnight where it

Will be a Cloudy damp one murky by Dawn as well and Mild elsewhere we’ll see clear spells across the North and F west of first before wet and windy weather arrives by the early hours of the morning for Northern Ireland and the northwest of Scotland severe Gales likely across Northwestern exposed coast

Of Scotland that rain will steadily move its way southeastwards through tomorrow over Scotland where Across The High Ground of the West there could be Heavy downpours then down towards Northern Island so Northern Scotland will brighten up uh later for tomorrow but it will feel cooler it will be uh windy

With that rain as it heads towards Southern Scotland and Northern England as well as over Northern Ireland the rest of England as well as Wales will see some bright or sunny spells and will still feel mild especially so in the Southeast times radio sponsors talk TV weather thank you now it’s time to have a final look through this morning’s papers with the news movements Rebecca Hudson and Fraser Myers from Spike loads to get through beex can I start with you I mean this is extraordinary with given

The woman that sits next to me every morning three and four women feel uncomfortable sharing political views online over fears they’ll be trolled that are far more likely than men to be targeted by threats and harassment if they do so well I I think you probably

Are a bit of a case study for this aren’t you so this is some Ser a survey done by the Alan touring in Institute about how women feel online and it’s really depressing so 96% of the women that they surveyed after using the internet feel low women are more likely

To get um symptoms such as anxiety or headaches after being online they’re more likely to feel unsafe they’re more likely to be targeted um with physical and threats of sexual violence than men so just kind of paints this picture that the internet really is a pretty Grim

Place for women and the concern that the report highlights is that because women have this fear about sharing online and then potentially being attacked they’re not going to engage with politics they’re not going to have the debate they’re not going to share their views and we’re effectively silencing women on

The internet Kate M hasn’t gone on the internet and she’s been trolled absolutely and called all sorts of things right um but I think you know I think this makes total sense you know whenever you you know dare to have an opinion online you know it doesn’t take

A minute for a load of kind of baldheaded blo is a really aggressive type of person who wants to are you implying that all baldheaded BLS are no but it’s a really specific kind of type of person on the internet I’ve got very very very close friends and both are bold Fraser I

Mean people do slightly lose their minds in a in a very odd way when women Express themselves online it’s not something I can relate to personally I think one thing is good for people to know is that there are lots of ways that you can you can filter this stuff out

You know lot of modern social media companies have like uh quality filters you don’t have to read all the responses reading that ad here is my defense treat as broadcast there’s been many many times where people have said to me just ignore it don’t read it well I’m afraid

I have to read it because I want to know what the threat is um and I’ve had this with this the stalker the Cyber stalker that I had for several years actually I got into this habit of I would rather know what’s being said so that I know

Whether or not I need to be concerned or whether there are any further safety concern so I’m afraid just saying H ignore it don’t read it let it go away it’s like saying to a girl in the playground ignore the boy who’s your pigtails like no you have to be able to

Know what people are saying to stand up for yourself in the playground they used to pull my hair the girls did they is that why they did that’s why I’m so traumatized uh fras can we move on to the times page seven help me out with this changing attitudes what is this

About uh so essentially the bbfc the film uh classification service is changing how they look at films and based on sort of audience surveys um so certain films like even Mary Poppins uh today would be given a higher rating why why she woman why what because there’s a

Sort of racial slur in there that no one’s ever noticed before it’s very kind of old school uh thing uh even James Bond would be given a higher rating I mean what’s what’s interesting is it’s changing public attitudes and we’re becoming more uptight about sex and violence which I thought are the main

Reasons people like to watch films but there you go and then there but there are also certain things where we’re becoming more relaxed about so uh drug use we’re more relaxed about seeing on screen so there’s a recent Bob Marley biopic uh a couple of years ago that

Would have been given a rating uh but it was given a 12a because the public actually doesn’t mind seeing can what about I haven’t seen this but my wife’s been telling about this what about that that Julianne Moore thing George and Mary or Mary and George on Netflix I

Mean that’s there’s sex everywhere isn’t is it’s a very it’s a very runchy watch and but it’s how you feel about sex on films and stuff seriously I I’m kind of quite okay with it but I I find this really interesting that where sort of people are getting more sorious about

Some stuff but then much more relaxed about um about drug use just think it’s something I don’t know what it’s telling us but it’s quite an interesting shift in Attitude do you think it could be because of the way we consume movies and TV now and it’s far more likely that

You’re going to be or younger kids will be watching it on their own whereas previously you know you had to have a film rating in order to get into the cinema and you’d have to go with your parents whereas now kids are just watching it on their own at home for me

If I watch sex on Films I always feel completely inadequate which is why I don’t watch it there’s a warning uh there are three more stories to get on uh that from a man with three kids I’ll let you do this cuz you’re going to take

The Mickey out of me you’ve got six kids sorry you’ve just you just hared your you said you got three kids honestly it’s kicking in D wow uh we’re going to move on now to St that looks like a picture of De and Donnelly in the green

I know it’s not oh so we’re going to be talking about cardig Cardigans yes Cardigans are back would you ever wear a cardigan yes I’ve got loads Lea patched arms I’ve got leather patched arms I was I was worried you were going to be kind

Of anti cardan and it love story and the times are celebrating the return of the card again Prince Williams wearing them Andrew Scott in that fetching green number you know you know goling all the babes but also every it’s an item for every man isn’t it and but well I was

Saying a quarter Zip’s apparently cool and apparently they’re no that’s what William’s wearing here is that is that no it’s um it’s sort of a loose fitting one it’s a picture of William all right it isn’t an art it’s not he is actually I think it’s I think it’s loose fting

Because FR was saying he would wear a loose fitting one that didn’t do he wouldn’t do it up but he’d wear it as a one also I mean did they ever go away I mean the the article talks about Granddad Chic and people have been using

That phrase to talk about sort of P for 10 years you know I’ve got dark blue with brown buttons and blown things which you can wear with the whole thing’s thought through I think sounds leave it at the bottom with the brown belt sticking out about I mean honestly

Excellent no I think it’s pretty so no shame if you’re shop they are not something to be embarrassed about they’re actually very forward thinking how do you feel about men wearing ug boots fine because I know we’ve got a you fashion them don’t you you want I

Have leather ug boots that I wear with tracksuit bottoms to go on the school run my feet are warm there we go it’s all about practicality I think so you really had to get that in didn’t you I did of course Fraser we’re going to move

On now to a story in the this is brilliant St this is an amazing story tell us why a member of the House of Lords uh was not so bothered that his credit card had been stolen so this is a um actually an ex Top Cop who’s a member

Of the House of Lords he’s also a member of the House of Lords and he was telling a story about how he didn’t report um the theft when his uh wife’s credit card was stolen because when the bill came it turns out that the thief spent less than

His wife I absolutely love this story I’m not going into details but my God can I identify with that not currently I’ll add I think a lot of husbands can probably identify with that and wives thank you we go oh Cardigans P themselves she would love to meet a man to have a

Credit card absolutely absolutely so what a prerequisite for a man who might be watching or listening and who thinks that you’re gorgeous would it have to be that he would give you the credit card no I’m not going to do a credit check it’s fine no yeah applicants open the

Price of Love Segways perfectly into the next story thank you John in the gallery not me uh tellers Becca how much does it cost to woo Taylor Swift $8 million guys is how much it costs um so Travis kelse in Taylor Swift the ultimate power couple um and they’ve and the telegraph

Have helpfully itemized some of the gifts that he’s given her over there six Monon romance um a jet one and a half $1.2 million a Crystal Rose $3,000 a deal Beret I’m not sure anyone would want it but it’s $1,000 um and yeah I mean what do you give the woman that has

Everything that’s probably one of the most significant cultural forces the world will ever see um a Crystal Rose or £2,000 worth of luxury roses he’s worth 57 she’s worth a couple of billion I mean what do you do for you the simple things like cooking her rubbish I mean

What you do no you $2,000 worth of roses every week that’s lot is it I don’t think that many of the sort of wafish English men that she dated before would have spent 8 million age I don’t see them together at all sorry why but you but they’re right in front of

You you see them together no I just don’t think it lasts at all some people say it’s a conspiracy in America it’s a big talking point they think um Joe Biden is behind it it’s very oh God oh God conspiracy thank you gang so much amazing this morning and just remember

If you do want to date Rebecca you need a credit card with a lot of credit on it just a right to remain is about brilliant thank you thank you Rebecca FR Myers from Spike there returning to politics now as we’ve been discussing this morning the tobacco and vape bill

Will be introduced to Parliament later today meaning that children turning 15 this year or younger will never legally be sold to backo right we’re joined Now by Deborah arnut the chief executive of action on smoking and health Deborah uh we all have our own thoughts does this go far enough in your

Opinion yes I think what it does is highlight that smoking is far more dangerous than any other legal um product that you can buy um and I think by gradually raising the age of sale it will lead to the extinction of smoking which is what we’ve wanted to see for

Many years the extinction of smoking let me give the other side um we can sit here and talk about the health benefits we can talk about the advertising Revenue to the government why do you believe that we should have a right to tell people adults in this country

Almost Nanny St that they can’t smoke well what we’re saying to them is that this is so dangerous it’s much better if you don’t it’s not criminalizing what I’m saying is why can’t we let them make their own minds up well actually because it’s so addictive and it’s an addiction of

Childhood almost every adult smoker you talk to will tell you they started as a child and one cigarette leads to twoth thirds of people becoming daily smokers daily smokers are addicted smokers it takes them on average 30 times before they can quit successfully and I know that personally from my own

Experience and many of them never do leading to up to two-thirds of them dying prematurely having suffered many years of horrible diseases cancers heart disease stroke um you know respiratory disease COPD which sounds okay but actually what it means is your lungs stop being able to inflate and deflate

No no I AB I get that I get that I’m just I mean Nick has I don’t know what your opinion is but I just think you have to be careful not that whatever the danger you can point the dangers you can’t tell people what to do can you

Well this well you can according to to rishy sunak Deborah I just wanted to ask you rishy sunak took this policy he basically copied it from a similar policy that was put into place in New Zealand but weeks later that policy has actually been dropped do we know why New

Zealand have decided not to go ahead with this scheme and why here in the UK we are going along with it we we do indeed because in New Zealand what happened was an ction and the only way that the the incoming government could take power was by getting the votes of a

Very small libertarian Group which didn’t represent public opinion in New Zealand and um repeal that legislation so that’s what they did if they got a bigger majority they wouldn’t have done it because actually um the National Party didn’t support repealing the bill right and Deborah would it be illegal

For somebody who was above the age threshold as an adult uh for them to purchase tobacco and then sell it to their friend who was a year younger even if they were in their 20s or 30s at the time good um yes in principle it would but the point about this isn’t that

Actually it’s going to be a heavy-handed approach people said exactly the same thing about the smoking ban in 2007 sure um and now would anyone want to go back to that nope it was 97% compliance from day one and it’s something that everyone even smokers now say was a good thing no

No actually I agree with you I said this morning I’m old enough to remember we used to smoke on planes I mean it’s ludicrous and restaurants and all that I get that I just very quickly final question is public opinion Deborah against smoking uh shifting or is there

Still a a hardcore that say you can’t do this what’s your thoughts on that quickly vast majority support it and actually what we’ve seen we’ve been monitoring public opinion for oh over 15 years now and actually the more government’s done the more support there is from the public for government to go

Further because we saw this in Co um people believe that the government has a responsibility to support them to make good decisions and that’s why they support this it’s not something that’s that’s heavy-handed it’s actually going with the the spirit of where the public are going and there are alternatives for

People who want to carry on using nicotine there are ecigarettes there are other nicotine products it’s not saying you can never use nicotine it’s saying don’t use it in a way that’s going to kill you Deborah we got to leave it there but thank you very very much

Indeed Deborah Arnold from action on smoking Health still have come on talk today this morning Nichol’s got a question for you is it selfish to spend your children’s inheritance on yourself some very mixed opinions on that coming away this is talk today it is 8:46 hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online and on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to have an even it me old chin but a new report is calling for a new definition of name all right Jeremy me old

China when JK Rowling says let’s just be honest it’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman is not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have

To go much further than his statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he need to say that he’ got it wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from city council lovely

Woman called Anna and yeah i’ justed an email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge quite right quite right it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled

Out May might as well be discussing an invas of Dar for all I really get this but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my 8 noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m just about

To do it oh it’s carry on what just happened were missing there was a suggestion by some that maybe it would nice to put statue of the queen on the fourth PL Mr KH apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know it’s I know what’s coming

And I can’t stop laugh so he suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t there also a prostitute a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in chaga Square you just got to walk up to soos Why do you know this because I know

Everything was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and u they put him in an ice cream store I read the statement

This morning from the family and if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying it’s heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots of racism within it I don’t NE think

It’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions but for her to say come out and vote and by the way when I was 22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist did

Supp another she was 22 we’re supposed to have moved on from that don’t honk back on something you did that was wrong CV it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back you talk today 10 to9 almost half of Millennials ah fear their parents are fretting away their

Inheritance and should be helping them with buying a property that’s according to a new servey by one of Europe’s largest wealth management companies money Farm bre Kyle do they have a point well broadcaster Nicki Hodson who believes parents should have the freedom to choose what to do with their money

Meanwhile political commentator Alex petropolis thinks that youngsters deserve financial help because of current circumstances Alex I’m going to start with you why do you think that young people are entitled to their parents money so for me it’s all about looking at where a lot of this inheritance

Wealth comes from and if you look carefully you find that a lot of the vast majority of inheritance wealth actually comes from home ownership and from housing and what we’ve seen is that house prices have been rising over the last 30 years they’ve gone from 100,000

In 95 to 400,000 just for a flat in London and the people who’ve been paying the burden for this increase house prices are young people like myself so we’ve essentially been funding these inheritances as a generation young people have essentially been throwing away large chunks of our wages throwing

Away large chunks of our discretionary spending towards funding inheritances like these I think it’s reasonable to say that we’re entitled to a part of it maybe not all of it we’re not asking for all but a chunk I think I see your point Nikki quickly before Jeremy has a heart

Attack I’m not convinced he hasn’t already um when I first read this story I was outraged but actually I think that Alex makes quite a few Salient points there doesn’t he hasn’t the millennial generation been paying for the Baby Boomers oh well I mean that that is one

Way of looking at it but I actually think our parents have worked really hard you know okay maybe they had some things easier maybe it was easier to get a mortgage oh it was easy in the second world war wasn’t it do me a favor honest

To God I it’s true honest to you entitled young man go and earn your own money go on Nikki no I was just saying I mean me and my mom actually talk about this quite a lot because I’ve actually asked her to give my inheritance to my

Daughter because I’m actually bit of a Spen thrft and I get through money like nobody’s business so I don’t want her to leave it to me I’d rather it be safe for my daughter um and I think that’s a really sensible thing to do my dad died

About 10 years ago and he left me a little bit of money which I ended up using because I had a mental health crisis so even if you do inherit something uh it doesn’t mean that going to be able to do anything with it um so

Ser on a serious note I think there are two things actually and and Alex I don’t agree with you but that’s the essence of debate I I I’m oldfashioned and I think my father before he died had an amount of money and quite rightly with my encouragement he wanted to go to a

Festar old people say where he had four amazing years chasing old women around having lovely meals and enjoying himself and that made me very happy okay and I understand the people that will say my parents scrimped safe what’s happening with inheritance tax and stuff like that

Is a lot of people couple of messages this morning we’re giving our boys an amount of money each now says George not when their 50s and 60s when they need it now I take that point Alex but if it comes out as your frittering away inheritance there there can be no child

In the world who should be able to say I am entitled to that money if your parents wish to donate give I get that but I I you’re going to say it’s a lot more difficult for people nowadays try saying that to my mother who did her

Homework at an air raid shelter in the second world war you wouldn’t you wouldn’t get so far but I understand where you’re coming from yeah and and you know I think that when you look at things on an individual level maybe it looks a bit less fair I

Agree that on an indiv individual level I don’t think any individual is entitled to say I want this very specific thing from my parents from my grandparents but I think on a generational level there is a much stronger argument to be made that there is this generational inequality

And you’re essentially seeing a transfer of wealth from the younger generation to the older generation and I think what you really have to look at is you have to say things suck right now they suck for everyone but they suck especially for young people and how what can we do

To fix the root cause of the problem house prices so that in 10 years things are better but also what can we do to make things easier across those next 10 years for young people so that you sort of smooth out that curve for everyone Alex I have to ask are your parents

Still alive are they still with us yes yes have you had this conversation with them I I had I had a little chat with them last night about this this topic and they and today you’re homeless you’re phing us from a hostle no doubt yes what did they think about it what

Was their response when you spoke to them about this topic they they agreed that you know the the sense of entitlement this entitlement argument no one should be entitled to to anything I don’t think old people should be entitled to stealing money from Young People by essentially getting lucky and

Buying houses when they happen to be cheap let me read let me read you some comments gr welcome to 2024 these kids are ludicrous Joe if your parents leave you anything be grateful they don’t have to it’s their money to spend as they wish you’re not in TI to any of it Eric

Selfish to think their parents will scrimp and Save in their Twilight years so their damn kids could go on luxury holidays just when they die Nikki yeah I mean I’ve got to say I’d rather my mom have her money for her spend it on a really good retirement

Which she’s just going into now and also I don’t want to care for her and we’ve had that conversation as well and if she needs I pay for it that’s the point I made about the old man he was lucky enough to have that money and he had

Housan days he really did so for me that was far more important you can go oh will you earn some money but even if I if I didn’t I that he but I think both of you make a really really good point here which is often overlooked is the

Fact that the cost of elderly person care is going to absolutely Skyrocket in the UK and we don’t have a plan for it but there we go H thank you to Nikki hodon and Alex petropolis well coming up our Royal editor will have the latest reaction on the reported hospital

Security breach involving Princess Catherine I’m just off to change my will you’re getting nothing kids go to work well this is taught today it is 8:56 good morning hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online and we’re on

Of us this morning thank you for your emails and your texts we’re reporting and we’ll speak to Sarah Houston in the tick private medical records belonging to the Princess of Wales apparently accessed during her stay in hospital the London clinic in January we asked have the conspiracy theories gone a step too

Far what should happen happen because it’s illegal right absolutely well no not to have a conspiracy theory but um to view somebody’s medical record whoever you are if you’re not you know somebody who’s assigned to do so well Ivonne says it’s disgusting that people think the Princess of Wales isn’t

Entitled to Medical privacy of course she is entitled to it but unfortunately in this instance it doesn’t appear to have happened David says how would you like your intimate personal details produced and discuss down your local pub it’s no different she is still a person and should be treated as such Mick says

Anyone trying to access the confidential medical file of the future Queen is is guilty of treason Lee the royal family created the conspiracy in the first place by trying to deceive us with false pictures it’s very very interesting indeed well Veronica says it’s criminal but I’m not surprised it’s too big

There’s just too many unanswered questions for those genuinely concerned for her and it’s fueled with more concern by the fake pictures of Kate and Jake says the prospect of easy money is the reason people do many many things well well why do we do oh yeah 5 past n

Good morning our Royal editor Sarah Houston is back with us to discuss this hello again Sarah interesting from some of those texts um and emails from viewers there saying that actually a lot of this is fueled by a care for Kate and wanting to make sure that she is okay

But ultimately some people have gone too far yes I I think there’s there’s two strands to this there is a lot of concern for Kate and a lot of interest in what has happened to her which comes from concern but just because we’re interested in what’s happened and we

Want to know doesn’t mean we have a right to know she’s got a public profile but she’s not public property actually and she is entitled as anyone else to Medical privacy and so the story this morning that a a member of Staff or several members of Staff we don’t know

The numbers at the London Clinic tried to access her private medical records is really concerning we don’t know if they managed to do that or whether they were stopped in the process of doing it but as you said Nichola it is illegal uh as a member of Staff working in an NHS or

Private medical facility to attempt to breach someone’s personal medical information is a criminal offense uh there is an investigation going on at the London Clinic the information commissioner’s office is also uh looking into this as well so I think it is really a very serious twist in what has

Already been a very very Twisted Saga really and and keeps keeps this Ferrari going uh you you were away I just wanted to throw something to you that that was said to well in fact we both said this last week um I understand that that photo created all sorts of Hysteria I

Understand that conspiracy theorists online wrote and said things of wish I’ve read none but have heard of many I understand that the the princess then came out and said you know I’m sorry I this is what I do can I throw something at you as a raw correspondent you know

What a raw list I am do you know what annoyed me most about that was that the photo wasn’t taken by her whether it was taken by William or somebody else to me at that moment when she was and is is ill and we should not be bullying her

Not online not on television and certainly not in within Kensington Palace I felt like they threw her under the bus somewhat and she had to face up to that and I’m being completely serious and I say that because I think she’s amazing I’m not accusing her husband he

Might have taken the photograph I’m accusing Kensington Palace I think they threw her out there and I think that’s half the problem which is why a lot of people are concerned I think she’s a thoroughly decent person she wanted to put her hands off and say look it was me

You she was for you my I don’t think she was forc but you know she is surrounded by advisers whose job it is to look after those things it’s not for Kate to know the rules and regulations of picture agencies someone should have checked that photo knowing that it was

So important the stakes on that photo were so high and I really do think she was let down by those around her and I think in all of this with the conspiracy theories with all of the constant focus on this we have to take a step back and

Remember actually she may be the princess of Wells but she’s a human being she’s a woman she’s a mother of three young children who has been through what is clearly a very very serious operation with all of the trauma that comes around that and this can only

Be compounding that do you think she’s offered the same level of sympathy as Megan marle when Megan Markle was going through mental health issues well I mean I think we’re in a similar scenario here in terms of the level of online trolling uh that is going on and and I’ve been

Talking about that the last couple of days you know Megan and Harry have spoken a lot about just how dark some of the trolling they have received and that they saw uh was and we know that you know she received death threats from the far right there was you know it it she’s

Talked about her mental health and I think again we have to remember these are human beings exactly and may be members of the royal family but they are human beings with feelings and it’s the first time that we’ve really seen this level of scrutiny aim towards Katherine

And William isn’t it it seems like not the tide is turning but it just it feels new in but I think this is that because of the splits between the kind of two sides the versus the Wales this has become wor a lot worse and you have

These various rival camps online who in the past wouldn’t have had an ability to communicate with each other they might have been writing comp notes or whatever but they can all now come together and pile and and and just going on with that argument and I I repeat you know what a

Royalist I am do you think there’s something in the theory that I was reading over the weekend that so Charles wants to slim down monarchy the monarchy to this generation they’re the entitled ones who think they should spend all the parents money this this generation is

Not as invested in the royal family as past Generations have the royal family The Firm the Comm departments whatever decided that more transparency like the king I’ve got cancer that you’d never have heard that about the queen Kate’s going to have that have they got themselves in a position now where

Having di their toe in the water to try and not not make themselves more popular maybe more relatable it’s now biting them on the backside this been something this struggled with you remember back in the 1960s when they let the cameras in for the royal family documentary and the

Lake Queen regretted it ever since and said they pulled back the curtain they’d you know damaged that Mystique of the royal family great words what the old man used to and and so I think here you know this generation do want to be more upfront we’ve seen that from the King

Talking about his diagnosis but it’s very difficult and at certain points they want to draw the line and say okay enough at now and I think one thing this shows is there’s still a huge amount of interest in did you hear I told you ear about the thing in America in in in

America this week people who Google Biden and Trump together were not as many as by the amount of people but my point is not that they’re putting their I mean I was perfectly happy with we talked about this she’s having an operation I’ve got my own Theory you’ll

Have yours nickel have hers we won’t be seeing her till the end of April no so an innocent photograph some people say it wasn’t innocent all of this pylon yes you’re right the online stuff Harry Megan that I I just for me I’ve always believed that this woman I call her I

And Kate because this is the first time in our monarchy’s history that a a member of the ra family has been allowed to fall in love with and marry don’t hit me a commoner and I think she’s incredible and I hope this doesn’t put her off it and I hope this doesn’t stain

Her relationship with either the public or the press or whatever cuz I think she’s incredible what’s interesting is there was some ugv polling for Sky News yesterday which showed that actually trust in William and Kate is the highest among any other member of the royal family despite all of this so actually

Um they haven’t been as damaged as you might think by that photo route and I think the vast majority of people come at this from a position of concern and care it is just that some of those darker recesses of the internet have made their way into the mainstream and

This and they’ve had to respond to it as well which is is slightly unprecedented um I put this to Kinsey earlier in the show this has been hugely destabilizing I think for the royal family it’s on the front pages of of all the news um and it was largely these conspiracy theories

Have largely been pedal by Tik Tok there’s loads of growing concern in America about darker forces perhaps who are in charge of Tik Tok the the parent company bite dance I wonder if it is in the best interests of certain companies to Target institutions like the royal family and perhaps to try and

Destabilize not just the institution but the UK as a whole yeah well I don’t know about the sort of whether it’s institutions that work here but certainly for individuals there are ticktockers in the United States who have never shown any interest or commented on the royal family before who

Have now created an entire industry around this they are updating on an hourly basis they are getting millions of views and therefore they are making money out of this buing their own Prof big tech companies should be controlled in you talk about the trolling you talk about that stuff they make billions of

Dollars and nobody controls them I think it’s another example a really and that it reminds me of Nicola bully actually if you think about that huge social media pile on the scrutiny on her family people turning up people with their own theories internet sleuths turning up and forgetting actually that and a family

Cover you were with me we covered that story repeatedly on JK and the police left it open People internet people coming on and filming from the thing and looking at the river it’s all about social media and how old institutions cope with a modern media and by that I

Mean social media but thank you I hope she’s all right though that’s what I we you’re hoping just quickly that Easter she should be back well that is the hope there is a a sort of planning underway at the moment at Kensington Palace it might be that we see her walking to

Church on Easter Sunday with the family but then I think she’ll take some time off over the holidays April the 17th is a date the children go back to school that might be the first time that we see her and I think she’ll be back doing something around her charity with the

Early years in a kind of gentle reintroduction back into public life but to show the things that really matter to her amazing thank you so much Sarah already just came back from a business trip what a time to take a holiday and she literally flew straight into the

Studio bless your heart thank you so much right we’re moving on now the chancellor has dropped a major hint about the date of the general election political sketch writer quen inls join us joins us next to discuss all that this is talk today it is 9:14 good morning Hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to have an EV it me old Chinas but a new report is calling for a new definition of name all right Jeremy me old China o

Tre when JK Rowling says let’s just be honest that’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man transwoman not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have to go much further than his

Statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’ need to say that he got it wrong then I had a phone call this morning um from PR city council lovely woman called Anna and yeah I’ve I just

Received an email just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge quite right quite right it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bid for UK security after moaning he’d been singled out May might as well be discussing an

Invasion of darx for all I really get this but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my 8 pound noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know what are you doing I’m just about to do it oh it’s carry on

What just happened were missing there was a suggestion by some that maybe it would nice to put a statue of the queen on the fourth PL Mr KH apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know it’s I know what’s coming and I can’t stop laughing so he

Suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t there also a prostitute a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in chaga Square you just got to walk up to soos why do you know this because I know everything uh was he just unlucky

Getting that question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed like he was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in an ice cream store I read the statement this morning from the family and if any police officer reads that

Statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying is heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots of racism within it I don’t NE think it’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions but for her to say come

Out and vote and by the way when I was 22 years old and I had an affair with a married man that I knew was married the feminist failed me I’m sorry I think the feminist did fail her it was another she was 22 we’re supposed to have moved on

From that don’t Hawk back on something you did that was wrong TV it’s the only place where you get the truth welcome back it is 9:17 well save the date the chancellor has hinted at an October general election uh Jeremy H was speaking at a Lord’s committee last night about the government spending

Review here with us is our favorite guest of the week sketch rer Quenton let’s Quenton good morning good morning good morning um so uh hunt hint it was very it wasn’t you tried saying that um hint hunted yes don’t get me into trouble let’s but he he it was the most

Unsettle Hint it was absolutely deliberate wasn’t it well you never know I mean 17th of October we think second 17th second I don’t know some people say 17th is a full moon so that might be AIT better guide uh and um uh it’s no great surprise no great I mean all this talk

That there was about a May general election was all for the birds I see and what what were the options why is it specifically why October October do you think economy it’s all to do with when there are big Summits coming up so you can’t have in one week because there’s

Going to be a big European Summit you want maybe to avoid the American election which is around the middle of November 17th what about the party conferences though they’re oh we forget about them thank goodness they’re a complete waste of time uh so that that’ll be during the general election

Campaign so no party conferences hooray hurah we don’t have to go to Bournemouth for the lip Dems uh yes who you want to go uh sunak uh we know about his five promises and I’m going to change this to me is flattered to deceive massively today inflation 7 o’cl we find out drops

From 4% to 3.4% that’s a tick for him it’s good result but in real terms people money in their pocket not going to be able to make a difference in a short space of time is it Quenton well uh the governor of the bank of England

Who’s a bit of a a gumping Gumby uh is now going to have to decide whether or not to drop the interest rates and that possibly is means more to people’s pockets and knowing Andrew Bailey uh the governor he he’s he’s a terrible ditherer so I don’t think he’s although

This is good news today for isi tunak you know whether or not the governor is going to deliver in two days time does the government have any pressure over the bank of England a bit of pressure but not much Right Moving On quen not no not at this stage in the election cycle

That’s all right um Asylum accommodation nowadays yes with these big large sites that the government promis would be cheaper than the million a day on hotels it actually turns out will cost 46 million more yeah but there’s much less political noise uh about the these big bases where they’re putting them uh the

The hotels were really unpopular for two reasons one is there were um it was very obvious in the middle of towns dragging down uh Town centers and people weren’t able you couldn’t get visitors coming to stay in the town centers so you weren’t getting uh businesses W weren’t

Prospering but second and there’s much the the MPS aren’t getting as much in their neck from their constituents as a result and that feeds through into Parliament so I think uh 46 million in the great scheme of things will be regarded as a a fair cost politically for the government because they’re not

Having it all the the the yaking in Parliament as a result also you you said this before you said that for for sunak to get one person to leave that’s good it’s going to make absolutely no difference to how people perceive the Tory party well the longer the closer it

Gets to the election the less it matters yeah I think it will actually I think it’s I think I think I don’t think um necessarily it matters on an electoral basis I think it’s a more important principle here if if the um if the elected common said something uh should

Happen uh I don’t think it should be stopped by by judges is he toast in your opinion anyway is it just damaged limitation now if it’s RI Sun he’s certainly in the toaster he’s in the toaster it’s not necessarily switched on come on just yet I I think things change

A lot uh in an election campaign I am always wary of taking the electric I don’t think it’ll be I don’t think it’ll be the WIP out I think they’ll end up with 200 seats who knows it may be terrible for them it may be a Canadian T party which almost disappeared you

Remember yes it needs to be reborn and re revitalized but it it you know it it it may be uh better than they think I mean it’s it’s too far away still it’s very interesting moving on now to a smoking Band That’s supposed to be introduced what do you make of

This or is it a smart I wish they’d stop bossing us around I really and let’s I wrote a whole book about this stop bloody bossing us about um and uh I mean you won’t be able to have that vaping job will you actually you’re old enough

But um you’re old enough you kids today my kid’s 15 on the 30th of June so March so he will not be able to have a cigarette what can you do if you’re a kid now you you get told off of having sweeties uh you can’t ride a bicycle

Without being told to put a helmet on you can’t go and have a quick Gasper behind the bicycle sheds what can you do well I suppose the AR all the time the old finger comes out I know but the AR is we spoke to a stop smoking campaigner

Earlier uh that this would not necessarily be strictly enforced of course the legal side of it will be um that you know they’ll be asked for ID in the shops however younger people will still be able to acquire tobacco from older friends exactly so but it just means

That I suppose when other smoking banss came in 2007 wasn’t it the indoor smoking ban came into effect it was supposed to be very very unpopular go back that there’s a difference between indoor and by way the state is telling you you can’t smoke and

The state says but it’s not good for you I don’t care if it’s not good for me I want have a cigarette that’s my issue with it to me that’s total nny state I’m not denying and then somebody said what about the cost of the NHS try obesity

Then government deal with that let me put this to you I put so several other guests today what about class A drugs then is that Nanny state by telling people that they can’t legally take drugs well we haven’t been very successful in stopping drugs have we

Saying you can’t take them and you know we have a limited time on this tender Earth we’re all going to die and uh some sooner than others if we spoke you but or eat a pudding or drink some red wine choice I do think free choice is important I just feel

Completely got at By officialdom and By by slightly Superior media teacher lawyer class I wish these Beggars would just leave us alone quenon what would you ban if you had to ban one thing I don’t wouldn’t ban anything not a thing bans bomb bans ban bans ban bans I’m

Lost uh listen quent and let I look forward to this more than I look forward to anything oh that’s very sweet your boy good good to see you he’ll be back next week um we’re going to stop talking at an exact time today so I’m out of

Here we’re going to leave this to Nicola Thorp thank you very much Jeremy Kyle putting the W into anaman every morning that’s all for us on talk today we will see you tomorrow she’s off for training at easy jet have yourselves a fantastic up next but first here is the weather

With n let’s hope it’s sunny and not raining to seconds have a lovely day Sirra times radio sponsors talk TV weather hello mild for many this afternoon sunshine for some mainly across Scotland and Northern Ireland but for others it’s generally looking quite cloudy and rainy mainly across Northern England into the Midlands Eastern England Wales and the West West country into this afternoon down towards the

Southeast though there should be some good amounts of sunshine and it will be mildest there with temperatures locally up to 17° cius but also feeling pleasantly mild across parts of the north with the light winds and the Sunshine for Scotland and Northern Ireland where we’ll probably see highs

Of around 12 now overnight that front of rain will continue its Journey further south and eastwards most of it turning light and patchy in nature it will be a mild cloudy night across parts of central Southern and Eastern England with Mr MC forming clear spells further

North and west before more Wind and Rain spreads to the far Northwest of Scotland and Northern irand with severe Gales likely there and it will be a cool night across parts of the North and then over tomorrow we will continue to see that rain spread its way further eastwards

Across Scotland with some Heavy downpours Across The High Ground of the West Northern irand and the Republic becoming wet and Northern England later too but the rest of England and Wales will be mostly fine and bright and feeling mild in the south times radio sponsors talk TV Weather hey very good morning to you thanks for joining us you’re with talk TV on TV on radio online and we’re on your smart speaking now you ain’t going to AB an eve it me old chinina but a new report is calling for a new definition of Cockney all right Jeremy me

China having a conversation with a professional journalist he chose to belittle her diminish her um and use sexist language I can’t stand the word casual sexism there’s nothing casual about igniting and using kind of diminishing and benling language about anyone especially someone who’s trying to do her job when JK Rowling says let’s

Just be honest that’s all she’s saying let’s just be honest when a man goes out and kills we should talk about them as what they are a biological man and when the med constantly refer to trans criminals when they are biological men as women we will no longer put up with

These lies about our gender anymore and about our sex transwoman is not a woman transwoman is a man lee would have to go much further than his statement I mean he did say that he spoke clumsily and he understood the prime minister’s position but I think he’d need to say that he got

It wrong that’s robust it’s going to cause an argument it’s going to cause tension but we’ve got to do it because otherwise this country is going down the path then I had a phone call this morning um from city council lovely woman called Anna and yeah I’ve I just received an email

Just saying um that yeah I’m going to be getting a badge quite right too quite right too it’s that time again to get the violins out that’s right Prince Harry has lost his bit for UK security after moaning he’d been singled out May might as well be discussing an invasion

Of DARS for all I really get this but but but I am now on social media having been dragged off my eight PB noia reluctantly Kicking and Screaming I’m a huge hit on Instagram as you probably know one parent commented on a review of Peppa Pig that their daughter had begun

To lash out since watching the show and added that Peppa is rude bossy a liar tattletail and even more say it’s not so what are you doing I’m just about to do it oh it’s carry on what just happened were missing there was a suggestion by some

That maybe it would nice to put a statue of the queen on the fourth plint Mr KH apparently wasn’t too keen on that I’m sorry I know it’s I know what’s coming and I can’t stop laughing so he suggested Alternatives there’s a sweet potato that’s quite small statue then wasn’t there also a

Prostitute a trans sex worker you don’t really need one of those in chaga Square you just got to walk up to soos why do you know this because I know everything was he just unlucky getting that question with an ice cream or is it a sign of something more seemed like he

Was on a late night show to attract a young demographic and U they put him in an ice cream store and once you get defeated by a guy named Begley that’s it you retire from politics and you speak to Rosanna on prime time and have a lot

More fun I read the statement this morning from the family and if any police officer reads that statement if you don’t cry for what you read from what the family is saying is heartbreaking then you shouldn’t be a police officer the UK I’d say had lots

Of racism within it I don’t necess think it’s a racist country but it permeates our institutions they’re now
