Primož Roglič had a below par Paris Nice finishing the lowest since his dramatic 2021 edition of the race and maybe this is a bigger concern perhaps than he will admit.

Towards the end of 2023 the shocking news arrived on the desk of the cycling world that Primos RIT would be departing the Dutch outfit of yov visma after years of high with the team winning multiple Welter espers Podium every single ground tour and even being second

In the tour to France and he was leaving the team in favor of Bora hrove who had put a huge emphasis on developing a GC team and he signed a three-year contract that was valued 6 million a year and leaving yum bisma for the first time since joining them in 2016 everything

Seemed incredible in 2023 so this was really the shock as rogl and yum bisma had won all the stage races leading up to the Welter for the Slovenian however at the Welter the decision was made to put Al leash on rogl in favor of supporting his loyal teammate of sep

Cous and that meant that the American would go on to win the Welter hispania something that rugit really really wanted to do as he wanted to equal the Welter espania record this sparked the move added with the Hefty salary offer as well and really turned a corner not

Only for yum bisma but also for rogl as a rider and Bor hansra having won of the galacticos on their team was a huge news there was a lot of anticipation around Primos rogich when he would start his new season and his 2024 scheduled seemed very ambitious but similar to what we

Had become austo in TB with these galacticos of the sport with very precise events being targeted like his 2020 preseason where he was very precise where he won Tano adriatico then going on to do the wter Catalonia where he beat Remco Veno then winning a dramatic Jalia beating gon Thomas on the final

Time trial win the wel borgus where he was in great shape and then going to the Welter where he did despite finishing on the podium still won two stages which included the Ang Ango his 2024 season was announced to begin with Paris nce a race he had very good experience with in

The past and similar to what he did in 2021 where he started his season at the race and in that Year’s Edition he almost won the race overall apart from a very disastrous final stage that saw him crash several times and that meant he ended up losing the legis Jersey and

Finished outside the top 10 unfortunately similarly in 2022 he almost did the same thing where he started at for adesh classic and the drum classic two one-day stage races before embarking on Paris n where he absolutely dominated the race and won it overall convincingly even winning up the

C the torini so logic would say that he was certainly in the same mindset and even for the tro adriatico last year that was his first race with any preparation and managed to win that one convincingly but for the 2024 Paris n his performance was a different story

And it was a bit evident that something was missing as in the early stages RIT was caught out by Remco Veno and met yinson in a bonus Sprint something that rogl definitely wouldn’t have done in the past and even when remko wanted to test his legs early on it didn’t seem

Like RIT was truly able to close down the Belgian Rider but that was early stages in the team time trial him and Bora ended up losing 54 seconds to Rivals UAE and on on stage four up to Mont buy the Finish seemed like a perfect Prim much rug stage of pass but

Towards the Finish when the stage win had already been decided with Santiago Pago gping away and taking the win Remco attacked the group and Matias skos yansen followed and managed to outp punch rco Veno to finish ahead of him finishing third and when this was happening we’re used to seeing Rog glit

Up there really battling it out however Rog glit was was a distance in this final Sprint appearing not to have that acceleration to be able to compete with the likes of Remco and SC mores further to this towards the final stages it seemed like the wheels really came off

Roog glitch’s race as he lost 4 minutes on the final stage that saw Remco win the stage in front of the eventual race winner of Matel jensson Matel jensson who incidentally went the other way going to vism Lisa bike and has experienced extreme success since changing the team to add further misery

To this rogl was even behind his teammate of Alexander blaso in GC who was meant to be working for rogl and vazov even took a stage win as well for the team so a bit disheartening all around so should the team be concerned about their Superstar he appeared not to

Have that snap that we associate with the Slovenian free time wela Superstar and the fact that he was finishing behind riders that may not even be the first second or even third GC choices for rival teams at the Tour of France this year should be some concern but

What is the reason potentially the shift to a new team take some adjustment in terms of getting used to the staff the way of training the equipment the way of riding within races and the new teammates or the form simply isn’t there and he’s building towards a peak later

On that is what you would think but when you listen to his coaches they’re certainly not worried and they wouldn’t say that his numbers aren’t low par despite these comments having a bit of positivity there is certainly a little concern as his program has been adjusted

Since the race as well adding the ardens classic and he will have ample time potentially to build a form towards the Tor of France but this was certainly a red flag it’s unclear if Bor adopts some practices similar to yov visma or if they don’t such as the use of ketones

And excessive altitude training in tenar but rogl will of course know all these practices of yisman will have installed it into the team if it wasn’t already there Bor hansra No Doubt with the backing of Red Bull have no lack of resources so there certainly is time and

The resources to close the gap but the other thing is that Father Time catches everyone so hopefully this is not the beginning of a swift decline in the Slovenian Superstar the definitive question here is however whether he will be able to win the Tour of France in

2024 with the likes of his Rivals of tacha doing supremely in St biani and yonis vingo absolutely crushing the rivals in both Gran Cino and terrano adriatico anything can happen on the road of course but no Ryder has finished 10th at Paris nce and then gone on to

Win the total France in the same season so this is the big concern this is a different era of cycling and we have to remember the incredible palmaris he has as well he is still the defending geores H champion so I’m not about to bet against him is Primos RL truly in

Trouble probably too soon to tell but definitely a red flag has appeared for the team as 2022 ruget showed that he had no problem setting off from a winning start with no race preparation and even in 2023 where he won Toreno with no pre-race preparation it will be

Interesting to see what happens when he meets yones or t in a onewe stage race this year and maybe that will answer all the questions but that’s basically it for this video make sure to hit the like button and subscribe to the channel if you’re new here let me know what do you

Think of Primo’s Ro glitches opening as well do you think it’s too soon to call alarm bells and that’s basically it for this video and if you want to check out Ro glitch’s career up until the jro why not click here but with that thank you for watching and I will see you Around

    1. Teams should share the Glory & unfortunately 4 Roglic he wasn't allowed 2 be able 2 have a Crack @ the Velta .
Hopefully @ Bora 😅 he will be able 2 do exceptionally well @ both TdeF , Velta

    2. After the wins in PN and TA, at Visma HQ they are saying: Primoz Who, who was that guy again? But in all honesty, its early days, there's plenty of time for Primoz to rise to the TdF occasion…

    3. Roglic will bounceback, plus im sure 3x the salary he has now than what he had at Jumbo also helps. That team never gave him anything he deserved, while he put it on the map.

    4. Money ruins everything. Look at Sagan. The more he made, the less he won. The worst thing you can do to a pro rider if you want him to win is pay him $6,000,000/yr. I don't know the details of that contract, but even if he never wins a single stage or race for Bora, I'm sure he will still be paid millions and millions of Euros. So… what's his motivation to work hard now? He's getting older… he's had some bad crashes–the effects of which will certainly still be with him forever. (Look at Froomie; he's never recovered fully from his last crash.) I like Primoz. He's always had that sprezzatura… and I understand why he left Jumbo… ego is a big thing and the money… goddamn… $6 MILLION a year… but now he's riding AGAINST the best team in the world–maybe in the history of cycling. It aint gonna be so easy to win now.

    5. Bora really messed up by not finding a way to keep Uitdebroeks. Sure he's a bit of a hot head, but he could have been a fantastic addition to their TDF campaign. Roglic, Uijtdebroeks, Vlasov, Hindley, Martinez, Van Poppel, Jungels, and one more Rouleur could have been a crazy team if they had made it work. Sure they'll just have Sobrero or Kamna instead of Uijtdebroeks, but imagine having a team where literally 6/8 riders had gotten top 10 in a grand tour GC, that's kinda crazy.

    6. If you read or search any of previous comments I did… Rog is same age as Quintana… Meaning he is a generation older than this … Jonas Remco Mvdp WVA Pog era…it is and is not father time… This now a days generation has something more something else… A better routine and rounded grow up from the ground… Ketones has nothing to do with it… If you want you can list more riders the same age those 2 … Some not on the GC win book … But you will notice the generation skip is there… The talent is missing… And if you see the newer generations the Ayuso the Arensman the del Toro… And many other have a lack of the same thing… But then what is that thing… 😅… Is not ketones is something in the joy and the hunger of this boys now men doing what they like ride bikes at a level the world has never seen… Am sorry but Rog or Quintana or Landa or Uran or Carapaz would not reach out the new school maybe a flat tyre or a bonk but then how many times can those things happen. Rog is maybe a second case of Frome… Moving to get down in the dumps.

    7. I agree, some reason for concern but I do not agree with your take.Dane. IMO after the TTT he realized it was going to be near impossible to win. I'll bet he gave Vlasov the green light for glory because he is a mature racer and knows a happy lieutenant is a strong ally for the TdF. I also believe he got so cold during the final stage that he just mailed it in. 10th place or second holds little difference to a rider like him. And why risk a fall in the first race that you cannot win? I have enormous respect for PR and I am fully confident he will be competitive at TdF. Now if that matters with Jonas around , I'm not sure.

    8. Bora can't race, they have poor tactics and their riders are not as strong as the visma riders. It's never the strongest rider, who wins gc, it's the team with the best tactics. It really has very little to do with Primoz.

    9. Shocking news? Were people really surprised? I think Roglic will be somewhat worse off due to less resources a Bora but in Pairs-Nice prolly just a combination of the cold and just pacing his Tour prep to peak at the right time-just a different approach this year.

    10. It's funny how the moment he leaves Jumbo, he becomes a pretty average rider. We'll see how it evolves in the next few months but right now, it sure feels like he doesn't have the right "magic potion" anymore…

    11. When Roglic who was the best 7days races rider moves from Jumbo Visma and he barely gets in top 10, and Jorgenson moves to Jumbo Visma and wins the Paris Nice by beating Remco, and 6 months before that he was just a breakaway rider, we all now what everyone should be worried about. Nothing new, just another confirmation.

    12. I‘m afraid that the best times for Roglic is over. I really like his style of racing, but I think he’s not a Tour de France favorite any more.

    13. While I think we will see better form from Roglic later in this season I think the bigger issue is his team. VLAB or UAE can select 7 very very strong riders to support their captain in a grand tour, but Bora is way more limited in that regard.
And then: how good is his peak at this point in his career? Even if he beats Vingegaard, can he beat Pogacar, or vice versa?
I don't see that TDF for Roglic happen to be fair, not with the current amount of younger talent around.

    14. Primos crashed all the time. If his goal is to leave Visma so he can win the tour, he not going to risk crashing in a bunch sprint at Paris -nice.

    15. Unglaublich welcher Druck aufgebaut wird von dummen Fans. Er muss doch nichts beweisen, er ist ein starker Fahrer.. er muss erst noch hineinkommen…langsam
