The Duchess of Edinburgh has surprised her husband with a tearful tribute ahead of his 60th birthday, saying he is “the best of fathers, the most loving of husbands and he is still my best friend” and “I am so proud of the man he is”. Sophie took to the stage at the end of the Community Sport and Recreation Awards, in Leeds, to make a speech praising her husband ahead of his landmark birthday on Sunday. Report by Matthew Covell.

So they do a lot of work with girl setups the session get have you won all your matches or a few most of them most enough of them yeah so yeah and you normally train at school yeah so what it like being here on the on the ground

Here is it yeah so it’s a bit different so and and with the stands around it’s it’s it’s a it’s can you imagine what would’ be like if this was full of people and just and then turn them around for me yeah mine I’m I’m much younger even even I know there aren’t

That many people in a on the Fe they can take to make sure that they’re creating a culture and opportunities but I just wanted to congratulate all all all the winners everybody um in in all that that you’ve done and all our finalists um it’s it’s just every year

Him he was so happy and humbled when her majesty Queen Elizabeth made him a knight of the G in in 2006 and was equally delighted and moved the day his majesty the king who we are both incredibly proud to support made him Duke of Edinburgh both he deserves an equal

    1. God Bless them and their family. A true marriage is between two people who are best friends, partners, and confidants as well as lovers. It does my heart good to see that the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have a true marriage, they both seem like very kind and loving people.

    2. Loyalty and mutual respect and appreciation for each other…….the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have a marriage based on these qualities……not only good for their marriage, but excellent assets for working members of the Royal Family. Happy Birthday to the Duke of Edinburgh! Enjoy your celebrations! Pat R.

    3. How wonderful for Sophie to share her thoughts but also for the beautiful warm hug between them – such a rare sight with the royal family.

    4. What a loving tribute to your wonderful husband! I also admired your talk about those affected by the tragedy of warfare throughout the world! I thought it was very inspiring. God bless you both and your children!

    5. What a beautiful tribute, heartfelt, and genuine. Two royals who deserve to be celebrated for the hard work and dedication they give to our country without fanfare, going about their engagements with dignity, grace and a humble attitude.

    6. I wish the royals would display more love and affection towards their partners in public often, nothing wrong with that.its better than walking around shaking hands looking miserable.

    7. It is true that the media doesn't cover their work but then again, it might be a blessing in disguise.

The media wouldn't rest until they are destroyed. How many times did Kate put aside her feelings to represent the image of the monarchy, didn' t take a break nor complain through funerals and celerations, during Covid…?!

In return, One the day when she is low,the media wants to hit where it hurts, her family.

Out of sight out of mind could be a blessing at times.❤
