Specialized Pathfinder Pro 38c Tyres and Zēnal Shield G50 Mudguards Review

On this ride, I cycled from Exeter to the forest gravel roads and trails, to test my new Specialized Pathfinder Pro 38c tyres and my new set of Zēnal Shield G50 gravel mudguards/fenders. My observations are the subject of this ride. So come along and enjoy another great cycling adventure.

Fenders these gravel fenders to test uh and I’ve also got the um the Pathfinder Pros that’s the specialized Pathfinder Pros they’re 38c tires yeah so these tires these are like the these are like the widest tire that I’ve apart from one an MTB bike so uh it feels so comfortable it’s really really

Nice uh yes I got great hope today I’m going to go and um do some gravel riding in the forest so uh nothing too mad today because I’m still still not fully recovered but I’m pretty much there but I couldn’t wait any longer i’ just been

Waiting so much been so excited to get out and ride again but I’m not fully recovered yet so I’m going to take it easy but um I got sporting turbo that can help me along today so that’s always good um I’ve got 98% of the battery so um I’m ready for a nice

Little trip today it’s only about I think it’s only about 25 30 mil today but it should be lots of fun anyway guys as usual let’s go and see if we see anything interesting on today’s ride let’s go We got a huge hill goes all the way and all the way up there and that up there that’s where um I’ll be hitting the forest up there it ride this over the gravel Trails yes I’m sort of at the foot of the hill where it starts to kick up

Now and this goes on for about a mile and a half so big old climb but the gravel Trails or gravel roads at the top of this hill yeah I us have this as my training Hill I us to just come out here and just

Ride up and down this hill 8 to 10 times um just training for the hills really and Sport Chiefs yeah it’s a good Hill to train on this one it’s really nice to climb it on the ebike now um I’ve just gone tubeless on the tire set them up

Yesterday uh they made in Voyage today these tires pressure-wise I’ve got about 34 PSI in the front and about 38 PSI in the back and it’s so smooth I’ve been riding through quite a lot of Puddles to get to this stage so I’ll be interesting to see

If these fenders have uh done their job there are mixed reviews out there on these so uh I’ll be interested to see how I get on with Them yes I’m in sport I got 83% of the battery left yeah I said this now that I used to use this hill as my training Hill and I used to come down here at night time so be about 7:00 at night it was very eerie the creepiest feeling I did have

When I used to training on this hill at night time was the feeling that somebody was behind me all the time I was constantly looking over my shoulder just felt like somebody was there Yeah very very creepy right here we are is a gravel Trails start of them St onto them how nice is that it’s just miles and miles of this track these fire roads and little trails well the tires even on this um this surface the tires just feel so Smooth just loads of Trials here in the forest abely beautiful come across this big big structure it’s huge isn’t it got a like a Weather Vein at the top this it is the bike it’s like a mattress at the moment with those tires just show you and

There’s all the gravel Trails then you can get into the uh muddier trails it’s just gorgeous here at [Applause] it you got places just just going off everywhere yeah I just absolutely love love places like this and that’s why I wanted tires like that so I can go places like this it’s lovely

In it absolutely beautiful up Here let going hit one of these side trails a bit Mucky which is understandable the amount of rain it just hasn’t stopped raining for freaking ever but this will be a good test for these tires today going give that mud guard a good a good test it’s certainly testing the tires

Today although these tires i’ got to say that these tires are giving me confidence riding through it so that’s good God that was deep maybe it may be a bit foggy down there oh let’s go for [Applause] it I got away with it let’s have a look at this state of the bike

[Applause] now hey they done all right so far so good with the fenders absolutely love these uh love these tires that blue lovely Blue Sky up there Guys thank you my friend thank you Thank you enjoy your walk just beautiful here guys so look at these fenders pass it on your right okay thank you up on the tarmac Again I know this leads down to a main Highway which I’m not going to go on I’ll probably end up turning and are only coming back but just want to explore this uh possibility there could be Trails down here cuz when the summer comes and everything dries out it’s going to be

Brilliant up here absolutely brilliant up here to uh really get around and explore as you can see 150 yards give way at the main road but I’m not going to be going that way I want to take a right around here somewhere possibly where that car is Parked yeah so we got all these trials here I just think they’re going to be too Mucky today I see how far I can get this I just running for all that mck and we got a trail going up that way that’s quite nice I’m going to follow this one I am

Really I am really surprised these tires are just pushing my pushing me through these uh slippery [Applause] Trails roads are busy trails are empty oh certainly something different today it’s been [Applause] lovely when my bike is absolutely filthy because I’ve literally been just buried in some of this deep deep

Mud but the wheels or the tires I should say have done a great job I trust Defenders are doing their job as well I really want to get some speed so I can flick some of that mud mud up I know where I’m going now let’s go let’s go this

Way I’m going to try and get back to the uh Main Road there and make my way back home okay another Crossroads buggy one I’m going to take a left I’m going to go down this Way I can see this leads to a this Trail leads to a main road down here on according to the uh wahoo What a lovely place to come and have a ride around there’s absolutely miles and miles of uh gravel tracks like I’ve been on today and trails but as you can see a lot of the trails are pretty boggy but great fun but the gravel roads are Fantastic I’m going to head back home now cuz like I said I’ve I haven’t quite got over this illness yet I’m nearly there and I don’t want to push it really so I’m going to have a bit of fun riding home now well I’m going to go back down

The the hill that I came up one not have done the training on yeah I wanted to get a bit of speed up on these tires just to see how well they Performed yeah very nice for the corners very very nice yeah a lot of confidence here going through that corner Nice yeah actually on uh on that desent I a couple really really sharp corners and uh I did have these tires did give me that confidence to just lean over and and uh take that corner at some speed so and they worked the treat absolute treat you’re just trusting in

Them and my first day with these tires on to to trust them like that is brilliant he yeah but these uh these tires are um just loving surfaces like this these back horrible country lanes absolutely brilliant yeah I’ve just whacked it into terrible at the moment guys I got 58% of

The battery left and I’m only a few miles from home so I treat myself to Terrible Good go yeah I’m really sorry about the end of this video I have files I corrupted files so um I couldn’t show you the end results but I can honestly say the wheels I’ll show you the pictures actually got a few pictures up but um I can honestly say the tires done an

Absolutely fantastic job of well impressed with them and surprisingly the mud guard has done a good job as well considering what I put them through good girl good girl good go yeah I’m out with Daisy at the moment uh it’s my little girl um she got a
