This is the big one, Cycling California’s Steepest Streets “Season Finale.” I was surprised to learn in my research that San Francisco has several streets (Broderick St., Baker St., and Bradford St.) steeper than the Guinness World Record Offical “World’s Steepest Street.”

  1. I’m so glad my garmin navigation tells me ahead of time of an elavations. Can’t imagine get my shoes stuck on pedals and start moving backwards lol

  2. What's your crank set at? and your rear cassette? and what the total bike wait? I love riding hills and looking for a good climbing bike? Thanks!!

  3. There are 2 streets in Austin TX area that are very steep. One on the north side of Lake Travis that has grooves across it for uphill traction. The other one is further out there. You have to get a running start in a car. I started up it at the bottom in my car and all I could do was smoke my tires until I backed up and got a running start.

  4. I was traveling to Euboea Greece, and I had an AirBnB booked for the night. The street to reach it was easily ~30% if not more. In addition, it was super narrow and very curly.

  5. I lived in San Francisco last summer. Used to go to work via Taylor Street. I was often late and had to run up&downhill. The amount of agony I was in daily….I don't have the words to describe it. But hey, I picked up trail running this year, and it def. helped =))

  6. Yeah, so, the numbers on your wahoo don't mean anything. You have to use proper measurement equipment to measure the angle of the road. The wahoo looks at your speed and a laggy estimate of elevation change to guess the grade.
