During a game between Hamburg and Hanover in February 2024 the match was stopped when protesting Hamburg supporters fastened bicycle locks to The netting behind the goals it was simple enough but it was actually smarter than it seemed the bicycle locks were in opposition to a proposed deal which was

    1. Fact that they didn't even make a different combination, but went for the emotional code of the rule… i won't call the guy who was told to fetch the chainsaw stupid, because you don't even think to attempt breaking it properly, it's just get ot down (like the antagonist says in a kids film)

    2. It was annoying but I still supported it as football should stay football and not becoming a commercial product. It pisses me of to see how many press conferences coaches in the Premier League have to do per week instead of concentrating on the team and the next match. Especially in Hannover it is/was a big issue. Protest worked and the investor thing is of the table, at least for now.

    3. It‘s helpful to know that Hannover and Hamburg have a strong friendship and Hannover‘s manager Martin Kind has been plotting to get mor money into German football for years. Much to the chagrin of Hannover’s fans.

    4. Bundesliga is the best league in europe. People like to knock it because Bayern always wins, but I look at the majority of the other leagues and see the same issue, difference is the Bundesliga is getting closer whilst those other leagues are drifting further apart.
