All right welcome back um it’s a chilly morning here in clan william for sure but at least the sun is out and it’s a blue sky so it’s gonna be probably a nice day um and we will try to make our way to cape town in this episode i think uh

Should be about four days of cycling and uh yeah quite excited about that so yeah let’s just start this day and see where we end up yeah so i really had a really nice uh place to stay here rosenhoff hello hello two more doggos yeah really nice place i enjoyed it

So today i’ll try to follow this uh n7 road to citrus dal and there somewhere i’ll go off uh this main road to some smaller roads it will also lead me down to the wine country like parliament wellington franchu stellenbusch so it’ll be some nice cycling there i think

So that’s the plan for the day and it’s nice weather not so much wind yet which is very nice a little bit chilly but still okay i just stopped a little bit for some snack time i had one of my uh paninis fancy fancy panini delicious actually and i want more all right

Actually a really good day no wind so far nice weather and i did like 30 kilometers so um yeah let’s continue we still have a lot to go so tough climbing going over the mountain to the other side sure i did not expect this you can see the valley down there citrus dal

Where they grow a lot of lemons yeah we’re definitely getting closer sure this climb though oh tough tough i’m glad i didn’t know about it to be honest nice nice Porterville let’s uh that’s where i’m planning to go today 40 kilometers left i think now we will find somewhere to sleep just having a little bit of a sugar break it’s about 30 kilometers left to the porter wheel and now it looks like we are going like more farmland

And it’s nice to be off the big road but also here you can see there’s no shoulder to cyclone which is less safe to cycle and you really need to be paying more much more attention on what’s coming behind you all right so we arrived in porterville uh

And tomorrow we’re gonna go to wellington phew a bit tired to be honest i mean it was a thousand height meters up uh probably a thousand down as well but it’s tough um i’m gonna go into town and find a room i think because the only thing i found so far

It’s a very expensive campsite like twenty 20 euros i don’t think so man okay so we did find a room ah quite nice one actually i’m back inside and i just had a pizza here and uh yeah i think this room was uh 35 euros yeah i’m gonna enjoy this see you tomorrow

All right guys uh good morning and welcome back i just left porterville and today is actually yeah i only have two days of cycling left i cannot really believe that uh it’s only two days of cycling left and each day is about 70 kilometers yeah tough mixed feelings um Yeah but uh today we will go to wellington uh where we’ll stay with uh ben john uh and his family he uh he lives there in wellington and ben john is the guy who picked me up in the last episode when i had two flat tires

So it’s going to be nice to see him again and yeah stay there and hopefully robin will also rejoin today uh we will cycle together tomorrow uh into cape town uh for the finish uh the last finishing stretch so yeah let’s enjoy this day let’s just say that the wind is back whoa

Even the bike is falling uh yeah that headwind was really really really tough yeah it’s not fun to cycle in the wind i really really really really don’t like it let’s stop for a little bit of lunch which is uh chicken uh samosas chicken filling here it’s very nice

And uh i also changed directions hello i’m good how are you your bikes uh i kinda took this road because i expected less traffic and more uh like wine farms stuff but uh yeah i can see some wine farms now uh but still a heavy traffic road you see not the best

Cheers for having me and thank you for saving me the other day where was it now was it four days ago um it was on friday yeah well and now it’s tuesday when is it wednesday it’s tuesday i guess you lose yeah i don’t really go by the days of the week anymore

From which land country sweden sweden sweden yeah do you know where sweden is good morning today my plan is to go down into wellington again and meet up with robin and we will cycle somewhere closer to cape town uh not all the way today we will go into cape town tomorrow together so

Yeah we will uh some find somewhere to to to stay and just have a really nice slow relaxed day not much cycling at all uh just reflections on the trip i think yeah so that’s the plan for today and yeah this is where i stay with ben jones [Applause] hello hello

Right that’s the plan for today okay okay that’s enough enough enough douglas douglas will you please leave will you leave yes come out ah Straight straight hello rob is back [Applause] um yeah so we just cycled through pearl and we’re headed for still in bush i’m just gonna follow this uh weird painted road a little bit further and then we’re gonna go off to the left which we hope will be Like in the proper wine farms like really amongst the wine farms so that’s that’s our plan and uh yeah i hope to find that magical place with all the wine farms and uh yeah robin had some problems back there i don’t know what happened something with this chain i think

Oh there’s even lemons nice Wine cows at least we are always foreign next morning the farmer finds us full of wine sleeping eyes even hello guys hello cass inside with the ghost backing up okay underneath one one delicious yeah what ah it’s falling again down here Sure so we just try and try to find some accommodation which we just did now we need to cycle back a little bit a stingy accommodation yeah yeah there was no negotiating with this guy okay um yeah we’re gonna get some food on the way to this uh place we’re gonna sleep

All right okay good morning um we’re in stilling bush and today is our last day of cycling are you happy with that robin i don’t know i need to sort out my feelings i guess yeah i’m a bit confused sorry just functioning yeah no i think it will be mixed feelings

Getting into to cape town today we will only circle about 50 kilometers so and it’s now like soon eight o’clock and it’s quite cold in the morning so we’re wearing all my cold clothes so we did we did like 50 meters outside of our backpackers place uh before we saw

A trek sign so it was a bicycle shop that also did coffee and breakfast so we were invited for some uh for coffee and breakfast really nice place very good coffee lovely start to the day this has to be the outskirts of cape town [Applause] We’re only about 30 kilometers to the end of this trip all right now we’re rolling into cape town man i can’t believe it jazz so now you can see on the left side of bed there is a table mountain and straight up here there’s a lion’s head The traffic is still quite busy though so need to focus while cycling huh [Applause] rolling into cape town table mountain lion’s head signal hill is it all ready to finish or not ah it’s on the other side the frame is on the other side Oh oh there’s even there’s even an instagram queue and first yes touch yeah that’s it That’s it finished yay yeah man good job good job i mean i’m i’m a little bit shaking i don’t really know what to say we did it more than 12 000 kilometers 19 countries eight months finally here uh Okay jasmine It’s a waste of beer all right so me and robin we arrived at our uh hostel backpackers place and um i opted for a single room with a Toilet and a shower i think i deserve it by now and uh yeah i have now three weeks here in cape town and surrounding before i go back to sweden so i’ll go i will go back on the 19th of may and until then i will relax enjoy let like this whole trip

Just sink in a bit because it still doesn’t feel real you know that i’ve finished and completed my cycling trip from sweden to south africa i still cannot really believe it that it’s done and i will i will i will need a couple of days just to to land a little bit and

Sort my thoughts out and just think about what i’ve done and um yeah i will probably share some of those thoughts with you when i’m ready uh because today was just a weird day it was so nice to arrive it was so nice to arrive but also it felt like yeah

It’s finished i finished i finished cycling what i’ve been doing for like the last eight months is now finished it’s completed it’s complete so yeah i need some time for a reflection and to to just calm down and land in this and then when i’m ready i’ll share my thoughts with you

Okay guys i just want to share some thoughts and some information um like arriving in cape town it was kind of just what i expected uh i didn’t expect to feel like super overwhelmed or anything like yes i did it i did it it’s such a long journey i’ve been

Thinking about the end for some time and uh i think that i was i think i was mostly excited like when i when i was on my bicycle getting closer to cape town like even like in vintuck i felt like i was so close to cape town and

Exciting and also a bit sad that it’s over um but also happy that it’s over i mean it’s just mixed feelings and uh like arriving here in cape town uh two days ago it was just a feeling of emptiness subtle happiness a little bit like shaking like it’s over Yeah i think it’s still a weird feeling that it’s finished and i’m getting used to that thought Yeah i think i think i still have uh tough time to put words onto the feelings what i’m feeling but uh yeah enough about that um at the moment i don’t have any other cycling plans i’m not sure if i will do a big trip like this again i don’t think so uh

I’ll maybe do some shorter trips sometimes i don’t know we’ll see the only thing i have planned now is that i’m going to go to finland in september to photograph wild bears that’s that’s uh what i have um in travel plans for the next couple of three months or whatever so

I’ll go back to sweden i’ll go back to my job start working again and yeah we’ll see what the future holds and i want to also Say a big and uh huge uh thank you for uh following along on this journey with me uh with all the support and comments you left on to to the channel um Yeah i’m super happy with that i’m really thankful so thanks a lot guys for following along and uh yeah i put together a little photo montage uh this last five minutes of the video which is some random photos from the trip that i don’t think you’ve seen
