  1. Just say where you’re flying to next and all the bike shops will DM you with a bike ready to ride so as to be seen on your videos! 70k + cycling fanatics watching. No need to buy a travel bike.
Is circling the airport doing junk miles?

  2. 28 degreee celsius is hot?? Laughs in Australian We're in winter and in Sydney its still a nice 19 degrees during the day

  3. Jasper, I bought the same Emonda you rode only 2 weeks ago and waiting on my first Siroko order to come which I got with your discount link;) Talking about influence haha! I've got the second Siroko order ready to go once I try the sizing on – if you have any of those 20% discounts codes coming now it's a great time!

  4. Great tips Jasper. The next thing it would be interesting to hear is power/heartrate-based training. I have a personal coach and she tells me one has to have a foundation to switch to a power meter. At the same time, all my friends wonder how come I train by heart rate only.
By the way, ROWERS = BIKES

  5. That is very nice weather u got over there..here in my country,we normally cycle in 38°C on averaged….there is one time we got up to 44°C then one of my buddy invoke the extreme weather protocol😂,all of us stop at nearby petrol station drinking ice latte until the day got little bit colder

  6. Whenever you are flying to Frankfurt FRA and need a training partner / bike there or near by, ie in Heidelberg, let me know via Strava / Erdnah. The Taunus / Odenwald hills are an amazing playground!

  7. The big miss here is not actually explaining what you mean by “junk miles” before giving tips on how to avoid them. What do you consider “junk miles” actually to be, given that miles in every zone have a time and place and deliver various physiological benefits?

Since you mention “efficiency” of time and minimising stopping time several times, are you literally just equating “junk miles” to sitting in cafes and freewheeling rather than pedalling??

I don’t want you to think I’m criticising you here – I find your commitment to managing to fit in bikes rides around what must be an extremely tight schedule and high pressure job – not to mention filming, editing and uploading these videos on top too – just extraordinary. But “junk miles”, like “consistency” seems to be one of those annoying phrases that’s always thrown around without ever actually being defined!

  8. your style and mine are so completely different that I have to disagree with almost everything you said. but you doing you is just fine. in my world, 95%+ of everyone's ride is junk and unavoidable. needs to be done. I would clasify the miles you showed in the video as junk miles. also, when I was training, I lived in the inner city of a large city and had a locked in 30 miles of racing cars on city streets every day to get to the hills outside of the city. i'm confident that inner city chasing cars is probably better than any interval you've ever done.

  9. I try to go cycling in between surf sessions. Surfing is a fickle sport that (especially in the Netherlands) is hard to plan. Some days there are waves, sometimes not. Sometimes I can sneak in a surf session before/ after work, sometimes not. What I don't want to do is train my brains out and then realize I have an opportunity for surfing. Ah well, you get the picture: my cycling is very on/ off. Still, your vid drives home a point: try to plan and at least be consistent. Cheers!

  10. bye junk miles you mean base or zone 2 riding? which is supposed to be the best way to train until some time pre event/race when intervals get mixed in
