The last stage of parin always delivers drama with Primos rogl cracking badly in the cold wet conditions this is the uh stage eight we’ve seen RIT k out of this before we’ve seen him win GC on this stage it’s always a cracker Solair one Simon Yates lost GC medium mountains

Deluxe across 110 km almost no flat Cote was a high climb the longest 7ks and the cata Shamar had the longest steep section about 8 9ks from the Finish to remind you of the GC standings mcnalty a 4C slender lead ahead of jensson 35 seconds to Shel mosa 36 to aul they were

Really the only guys in it for the win and if you want to win your next bike race if you want to get fitter on the bike you have to download the join cycling app free 30-day trial no credit card required for lantern Rouge viewers through the link down below I’ve been

Using it for for the last 2 months to get ready for my Flanders trip next week I’m smashing the cobbles go and download the join cycling app the Remco all to play for still for him it’s not a big margin Jorgenson he’s got a manage taking the Slender time on mcnalty if he

Can with defending from aen paol but all smiles in the Sun at the start with the two Americans Cuts was the last guy who stayed away from an early days Breakaway there was also another crash for Santiago buto he crashed out of the race with Kevin jenet but there were splits

On The Descent Apparently after that crash so being in good position incredibly important butal and go would be split later in fact you can see them well you can’t see them but they were apparently chasing in that group whilst Pon started to smash lighting the race

Up before the cat toay you can see gr shart and mnal in position gr shart was the last domestique there for mcnalty and these roads are treacherous wet all week and narrow twisty there’s Road Furniture cuz it’s a pretty heavily populated area compared to where they

Often race Cod to pay 6 and 12K 7% remle even AOL attacks Jorgenson straight on his wheel in the white Young Riders Jersey covered up by the Gile and mcnalty he responds no problem at this point vlasov in the wheel skelos are there but not looking too sharp Remco

Stops and so will he go again is jongon going to take over Harper begins to Pace just make it steady cuz plat probably doesn’t like the accelerations rco goes again he seems to take jensson off guard on this attempt mcnalty straight back in the wheel aaple stops again gross shner

To the front to keep things under control for Brandon mcnalty in the leus Jersey but we got 642 bonus seconds coming up in the climb after this as well they’re going to play a huge role in this race Bernal starts to come back though on Gartner’s pace so gr shner is

Just setting a false tempo goers in this group as well for Deaton a he missed another descent split but rco goes for a third time just before a leftand hair pin Sprints out of it again and this time mcnalty doesn’t come back vlasov with sits on skelm MOA Bridges across to

Mcnalty and Remco is pulling and not stopping at this point despite having jensson in the wheel mnal this is also the other stages if he doesn’t get back here with jensson now pulling he’s never going to come back this was a really bad sign for him because it’s a sign that

Jorgenson felt good enough to relay with aapo after being attacked three times and it got even worse if his race wasn’t over for GC then when vlasov uh eventually attacked across to these two who are going at a raate of knots because there’s only three riders that

Can take those bonus seconds coming up and if jensson takes six or four and then vas or Remco take two there’s none left for mnal and that’s his GC over unless he can take take B of seconds at the finish so jensson in the ideal position rco now pulling RIT looking a

Bit Suspect with pla trying to get across to schel Mosa vlasov doesn’t pull but to be honest he wasn’t the best on the wet descent anyway RIT though really starting to struggle after the Cod to pay we still got the CZ coming up and I didn’t know it looked like he he waved

To the car I didn’t know if he had a mechanical the car comes up to him initially they offered him a bidon but he actually wanted a Gile maybe he was saying he was cold and actually I would say the quickest Gile application on a descent no hands in the

Wet that I’ve seen for a while so very deafly done by by RIT but jongon was putting these two Under Pressure he knows these rows like the back of his hand every corner he’s a better technical descender than either of them in the wet in particular as well and he

Was always making them close the gaps on the descend but here’s the CZ and here’s where I was surprised because Remco doesn’t have to ride anymore mnal is already way behind he’s not a problem for Remco winning GC it’s jensson that’s now the problem for him winning GC cuz

The Gap is 12 they’ve ripped it open but he Paces the entirety of CZ so I I dare say after the three attacks he put in on pay he thought he wasn’t going to get rid of jensson that’s the explanation that makes sense from from how he rode

From here on out and he thought I’m going to make the race difficult so that I can drop vlasov and uh take a stage win potentially and if that wasn’t sure then it was definitely sure when jensson half a attacked or just came out of his wheel to easily take the six bonus

Seconds now in the virtual GC lead but on that same pinch RIT was going backwards not the start he would have wanted for Bora hansra he would slide to 10th on GC I don’t know if it was the cold or what but mnal and skelm moza

Went clear at this point and uh now is all about who would win the stage unless rco could drop mnal yoron on the cat Shaman but with Jenson having a 34 second lead ahead of rco with with REM carving paced a lot it didn’t look like

That was very likely and so he went for the stage win 3.6k 9% one of the hardest climbs in the week overall and Remco went cho cho mode setting a hard Pace you could already see vlasov struggling through the hairpins losing the wheel the group came back to mcnalty and schel

MOA PL was there even scaroni Felix Gull and kelderman and store and Harper appear out of nowhere so there’s still GC top 10 machinations happening behind but in front nothing really changed and I don’t blame Remco for it either if he didn’t feel he could distance jensson perhaps he’d even be worried that

Jensson could counter him if he went again and you can see the pain face on vlasov behind whilst renco looks pretty calm and collected and he gets rid of the Russ on Bor hansar who did have a good week though he won a stage moved up

To fifth on GC was supposed to be here as a domestique for rogl even performed in that function in the early stages but these two go away Jorgenson the third on the way way to being the third American to winning Parise it could have been mcnalty his compatriot behind and here

You see them discussing the stage win Remco saying I’ll only pull if the stage win is mine and that seems all okay for the man from Boise Idaho so huge win for Jorgenson coming up resident of the area he’s come top 10 multiple times in this

Race before he was really good on this stage last year but now with the new team his first stage race with them after a great opening weekend performance from him he probably can’t believe that he’s winning the GC of parin Remco takes the stage in the com most competive rider welld deserved he

Tried to animate the race throughout this week but it just didn’t work out on GC so the two strongest riders in the race cross the line together no hard feelings between the two Americans with AO winning the stage same time Json Vaso on 50 seconds on his own then schelm MOA

LED mcnalty over the line but in terms of GC jensson gets his first line no better day to get the leaders jersey than the end of the last stage perfect timing 30 seconds of renco mcnalty keeps the podium on 147 skelo of 222 then vlasov moves into fifth 257 great

Performance from pla in 6 on 308 I hope you enjoy the videos I’m off to flers next week as I said follow me on Instagram if you want to see updates of that and I’ll see you with Catalonia next ciao

    1. Wet and winding narrow roads – amazing there weren't more crashes! 😮
      Roglic was also a surprise…
Great coverage. Good luck in Flanders! 👍
      M 🦘🏏😎

    2. seeing this season so far, TdF will only be interesting for the 3rd spot on the podium jonas 1st pogi 2nd. unless remco or roglic make a big step up

    3. I felt Roglic ought to be a bit too slender for such cold and wet conditions. Almost no tissue on his cheeks, but bones and skin let him suffer terribly in the cold.

    4. Roglic is so overrated. He has been for a couple of years now. I think his age is beginning to show, and i fear BORA have made big mistake signing him.
When is the last time Roglic straight up have beat Vingegaard or Pogacar? It's those guys he's often getting compared to, which i find ridiculous!

    5. Remco screwed up in his strategy during the week as he was always afraid that Roglic would follow behind at his tail if he were to join riders who tried to break away. So at the start of Sunday's finale stage, Remco had some time disadvantage to make up. This is why Remco hardly wins the overall in races despite being relatively strong to win many stages.

    6. Roglic doesn´t look like a tour favorite right now. BUT, don´t forget that Jonas Vingegaard also performed badly during last year´s Paris Nice where he was dropped by Pogacar. And as we all know, his shape was pretty damn perfect 3 months later…
Having said that, I doubt Roglic will be able to win this summer. We´ll ses…

    7. Guess what, wanna-be pro riders from the USA…? If you wanna be a WINNER on the global stage–you'd better either COME from the Rocky Mountains or MOVE to the Rocky Mountains. Because unless you're a doper (yeah, I'm talking to you, Douche Armstrong), you're not gonna be able to win at the pro-level unless you are training regularly in the mountains… and I don't mean Tuscon… I'm talking 10,000+ ft.

    8. bernal have not learned a damn thing for all the years he been competing… THose big gears he rides in the mountains is killing him, he needs to look at the spinners and take example. quintana made that adjustment at the end of career and was looking good until politics got him out the game

    9. I think he was sick or simply not yet in shape. Chris Horner noted that in his interview at the start of the stage or maybe even after the previous day's stage, Roglič said that he didn't need to win Paris-Nice because he was solely focused this year on winning the TdF. So I think he either knew he might blow today, or, having said he didn't need to win, simply didn't give it his all. This is nothing but a training race for him.

    10. I think Roglic is just taking his time, wanting to peak at the right time for the Tour without burning himself out beforehand. He hasn't had good results trying to maintain top form for months prior; I think he's just pacing his preparation.

    11. I'm not one for the sort of frivolous fanboyism there's just so much of on YT, but I'll give dues where owed, and I feel it is here. LR's recaps/analyses are always measured, concise and in my experience on point. So thanks.
