[“I Like to Ride My Bike” theme song] In the summer of 2016 we cycled from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. We spent most of the time riding through Germany. This part of the leg takes us from Hardenberg, Netherlands to Lubeck, Germany. After riding through the wonderful cycling infrastructure in Netherlands we

Were a bit worried about cycling road conditions in Germany, as they can’t be viewed on google maps due to privacy blackout by the German government. We were thrilled to discover that the cycling roads continued right across Holland through Germany. Cycling roads like you see here were common throughout the entire trip.

The first cities we stayed at were Meppen and Kloppenburg and then we stayed in Bremen for a couple of nights and took in all the amazing sights and sound of this town. There’s a medieval centre of the city that is really cool to explore also we have the added excitement of waking up

One day to find all the streets absolutely vacant because a bomb had been discovered downtown an unexploded World War two bomb. basically, everyone had to stay inside their houses and the center of the city was evacuated while they removed the bomb. and it didn’t blow up so that was awesome.

When we left Bremen we were on the west side of the city and we had to go out through the east so we had to ride all the way through the city. It’s a very large city sprawled out but it was an interesting ride because we got to see

Bremen’s very robust cycling infrastructure including things like lots of great bike tracks as well as cycling signals everywhere. The next two cities we stayed at were Buxtehude and Nordersted. We really enjoyed the old downtown center of Buxtehude and leaving Buxtehude was a magical experience as you can see . OK. Let’s giver.

I can see why she rode along here. It’s fun. Finally we arrived at Lubeck. This was one of the highlights of our trip. It’s got a beautiful old medieval centre, walled city, all kinds of gorgeous buildings. It also has a place called Niederegger that claims to be the birthplace of

Marzipan and it was amazing. We also visited st. Mary’s Cathedral which was one of the most beautiful buildings I think I spent a been in. We’re going to leave you with that today and hope you join us on the next leg of the trip that takes us to Sweden.

    1. How about public toilets in general on your trips??????, could you find in time a bathroom when you really needed one??????,. I ask this because I had several surgery s due cancer , I had surgery on the Intestines and Two on the Liver to remove tumors,. it was almost needed a Stoma instead of Intestines but they could repair it together again,., but after many years still now and then problems to be in time to find a toilet,., since the surgery s I still work for 50 procent,., but the work is an operational job on a truck, to bring provisions on board of sea going vessels like Bulkcarriers , Oiltankers, Carcarriers, Containerships, passengerships,. and more,., so you can maybe imagine that there is no toilet in the truck,.

    2. Marzipan originally comes from the far east. So I don't know where you heard it's from Niederegger. But it's still very beautiful. I love Germany.
