Stade de Reims are finally back in the Champions League. We lost the final back in 1956, and again in 1959, but we finally have a chance to redeem ourselves. The only problem is, our team is absolutely not good enough. We’re going to spend as long as it takes to realistically bring this mid table club to a first European title.

The most important thing we can do this July is improve the team. We have some decent players, but need a goalkeeper and left back pretty badly. I’ve got just the players in mind. Firstly, thanks for your suggestions, but Brice Samba is a bit unrealistic, and Marcin Bulka finished above us. Instead, let’s bring Eduard Mendy back to Reims. He’s struggled in Saudi, so we have a top tier huge keeper with experience winning the UCL, a perfect combo.

A good left back is harder to find. We don’t actually have that much money left, but we can just about afford to sign Ramy Bensebaini from Borussia Dortmund. He’s been replaced by Ian Maatsen & he’s happy to return to France. With a member of last seasons UCL winning team signed, our team already looks way better, but we’ve already got to find our first storyline of the season.
