Welcome to the south of France and Mon peler and to the launch of this Suzuki vrom 800 re this is the new re Road version Road Explorer uh version of the vrom range the 800 and we’ve just spent all day on it through the the mountains of south of France it’s been beautiful

But anyway uh sit tight and um if you want to see what happens or what happened during the day I’ll see you after the intro and also why you’re here just drop us subscribe will you thank you very Much here we Go looking forward to a good day on these Good morning from melier in France we’re here at the launch of the new uh 800 vstrom re the road Explorer before they go out to dealers this week so we’re the first people to be riding this model very much looking forward to this I’ve had a few comments

Of people saying um well as you know I’ve got the uh 1050 de on long-term loan and I love it I love it but quite I’ve heard quite a few people say have you tried the 800 yet I’m like no just just hold that thought

So I’ve got a feeling that this is going to be a very good bike if it’s better than the 1050 don’t I don’t see how it can be but if it is that’s going to be fantastic so we shall see right then we’re nearly ready to

Go I’m looking forward to this as I just said on the uh intro there keep hearing noises that the 800 is quite special very interested to see what this one’s like let’s get on with it there she is all this is exactly the same as the

1050 so I know my way around all that you have to look sexy I’m always sexy that’s the sexiest is chatting the lady up got these mirrors set up road tires road bike great roads apparently so so let’s have a good day on the bikes and we’ve got some

Sunshine I’ll get into the full filming later on just film this little bit as we leaving the hotel the guy that did the presentation this morning the brief about the root was very excited and he said really this this is my garden and this is I’m so

Happy that we’ve got um the route that we’ve got and that they’ve closed the road off they’ve got a per to close the road when we’re doing the first morning section of photos which is amazing so right let’s get into This So the brand new mid-range 800cc vrom re Road Explorer so far so good 825 mil feat High it’s a really nice seat actually as well really comfy I’ll check in again at the end of the day about the seat cuz sometimes seats can seem really nice to start with and

Then end up being horrible but um yeah so far seat feels good 225 sorry 223 kilos on the road 9,966 it’s got the same switch gear as the 1050 50 and it’s it’s really easy to use really easy to use and the three riding modes I really

Like I think Suzuki’s got it just right with that three riding modes A and C each power mode still produces the same um end goal if you like but the delivery is totally different and within the mode you can really feel it that it is totally different Yeah I was saying Suzuki’s got it just right with the power delivery because you know a B and C are very different you know like a for full fat B for it’s a bit dump if you like and then see for if it’s chucking it down that’s what I do with the 1050

Anyway and coupled up with the quick shifter again it’s the same quick shifter and it’s absolutely perfect Suzuki definitely have that just right it’s so seamless excuse oh look at this lovely rolls on and off the power really smoothly so this has the 19in front wheel 17 Rear as I said before it’s uh it ret oh retails at under 10,000 I think for most people in the market for a vron this this will probably be it as you know I love the 1050 de I love it but there’s one thing about that and it is very

Tall so uh it’s definitely no good for those vertically challenged folks out there so um I do bear that in mind whereas this it actually feels lovely very very comfortable bike to ride and it’s got loads of poke turns in lovely sad thing it’s got no cruise control though and it’s a road-based

Bike so we’re having this conversation last night night at the uh presentation and it is a shame that’s a that’s probably going to be one of the big ones that people are going to dislike about it I’m sad to see it not having a cruise control especially on a

Road-based bike the geometry is different to the 800 de it’s got narrower bars and the further forward it’s uh effortless really all the proper stats will be down Below Very very good Road Oh Going back to the seat I was saying this morning I’ll tell you later on tonight if it’s comfy yeah I’ve had no discomfort at all no discomfort allall we’ve not done heavy mileage I know that but we’ve been in the saddle all day so right then we’re back safe and sound

Brilliant right so there you have it this has been a brilliant day a brilliant launch and I’ve fully enjoyed riding this bike around these mountains it’s been absolutely brilliant it’s such an easy bike to ride and you know I I as some of you may know I love the 1050 as

I’ve got on a long-term loan I love that bike to Pieces um and this it’s just it’s so easy so easy to ride it’s not as heavy it’s not as tall clearly um it’s just a lovely bike to ride and do yourself a favor um get to take one out

For a test drive in the dealers when they come in very soon and I guarantee you’ll not be disappointed I’ll see you soon folks be good be careful be kind

  1. New V Stroms looking really good… only downside for me is its chain driven last couple of bikes ive had have been shaft and its made me lazy lol
No cruise control seems a bit of a over sight on suzukis part being a road bike

  2. I'm 6'2 but I still value having a bike where I can get both feet firmly planted if I need to. The 1050XT felt a bit tall and top heavy to me whereas I found the 800DE about perfect, really interested to see how the 800RE feels – I personally prefer cast wheels to spoked so it may be the one for me if it doesn't cramp up my knees.

  3. I have a 2019 650 vstrom, looking for a little more poke. This may be my new bike. I suffer from short leg syndrome, so the lower seat height may be perfect. Thanks for the great intro Rich. Hello form a snowy northern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 😀

  4. Looks a great bike, and the roads awesome. Passed my A licence test Thursday, which means when there is a reasonable day I can finally ride my VFR 800 Rich!

  5. Not sure what roads were used, but it reminds me of the best road in France, the N106 to Ales…near where you were?
Good upgrade from my Tracer7, more my seat height compared to the DE800!

  6. How about another $600 can you buy the CF Moto HIPEXT sky cruise control it’s got a lot of stuff on it take a look at that road focus no cruise control that’s a no no

  7. For me it hits the sweet spot between the road and off road versions. Lack of cruise seems a huge ommission. I expect Honda will do something similar with the Hornet/Transalp.

  8. Looks really good, shame it doesn't have cruse control mind 😢 can never understand why manufacturers can't seem to get it right on the comfort of seats they give us which is really important

  9. Must admit quickshifter is a deal breaker for me. Really don’t like them and most bikes with them fitted are not nice when using the clutch. Will give it a test ride to see but not in high hopes.

  10. Very impressive!!! IMO, this is a Great/ do-it-all/ pragmatic motorcycle, which is about 50% less the price of BMW's R13GS, and IMO "will/ should" provide 85% +/- of riding experience & fun factor – YMMV

  11. Great review! Did you notice any excessive heat being thrown on your legs? That was a criticism of the 800DE but some reviewers report that the RE runs cooler. Thank you~

  12. Fantastic review there 👍 so far all the press reviews are very positive I’m very tempted, I’ll have to get a spin on one when the hit the shops here in Ireland
    Thanks Tony

  13. I love my 1050xt although it certainly is top heavy. I would seriously have considered trading it for a new 800 if only it had cruise control. I use c.c. a lot and riding without it now, nah. Don’t understand Suzuki’s logic here for a road bike, they will live to regret it I’m sure.

  14. Strange that my US model 2024 Suzuki Vstrom 800 has different style blinkers. All else looks the same and I think Suzuki hit the target on this bike. I like it so much, I am selling my Triumph Tiger 850s.

  15. Richy, some people complain about small and inefficient headlamps, vibrations between 4000-5000 rpm and annoying heat from engine on your right leg. Did you notice such features? And watching on your movie I noticed very small clearence between brake pedal and the road. Could you comment?
