Bontrager h2 comp 700 x 45 tires. Everywhere I look online including Trek’s website says these have a 30-80 psi range. On the actual tire it says 40-60. I’ve been keeping it at 60 but is the actual limit 80? Why is it different in 2 places?

  1. I’d go with what’s printed on the tire itself. Depending on the terrain you can walk it around that range; if you need more grip go towards 40psi whereas id you’re on road surface run it towards the 60psi.

  2. Always go with what’s printed on the tyre .
    Websites are often wrong .
Never run a tubed tyre lower than 40 psi .

This is probably way too much pressure for a 45mm tire.

Check out [https://axs.sram.com/guides/tire/pressure](https://axs.sram.com/guides/tire/pressure) or one of the similar tire pressure websites. For example, I ran it with an assumed 200lb rider, 25lb bicycle, 19mm inner rim width, and standard casings. Comes out to about 35psi front, 36psi rear.

  4. I asked my LBS when I bought my bike (DS2). They said to keep it 5-10 lbs below the max printed on the tire; and to check monthly & refill if it’s 20 lbs below.

I would agree to go with what is written on the side of the tire. The website may have a different number, but there may have been a production issue and they had a different company produce tire or such and as a mechanic and a bike shop you always followed what was written on the tirenow, I would agree not to max it out
