Whether you’re an international student or a UK home student, when you apply to live on campus as a first year undergraduate, you’re joining a supportive college community. Increasing your chances of making new friends and benefiting from having university life right on your doorstep.

One of the best things about our on campus accommodation is that you have everything you need close by. Whether you’re popping to the library, a lecture, or going for a bite to eat you don’t have far to travel. Your rent payment will also cover your bills,

So you’ll have less to worry about when it comes to budgeting. Rent prices also include contents insurance and twenty four hour security, so you can have peace of mind when living on campus. Stay connected to friends and family back home with free Wi-Fi and super fast wired internet in your room.

Every room also has unlimited download capacity. Apply for a room with your own bathroom which you’re responsible for cleaning, or you can share a bathroom with others  that gets cleaned by staff regularly. You can cook your own food in your shared kitchen.

Or choose to have your breakfast  and evening meal covered by us. Weekly communal college meals are  provided for those on Campus East who choose self-catering. This is a great way to socialise  with others in your college. Most of our colleges have communal spaces  where you can hang out and relax with friends.

Every student at York is assigned  a college and therefore has access to communal spaces even if  you decide to live off campus. We have different letting lengths at York. So whether you want to stay around  for the holidays, or go home there will be an option to  suit your individual needs.

Our rooms can look and feel  different across campus. Some rooms are in our more traditional buildings Whereas others are in newer accommodation blocks Rooms are therefore priced  differently depending where you live. If you have a health, welfare, or mobility  requirement let us know in your application

And we’ll prioritise you for a room with specific facilities or location that suits your needs. We’re proud to have a university  campus that is a safe place. To help keep it this way we provide  campus safety staff and reception points across the site. Both are available 24/7.

Our college teams can offer  support, guidance, and signposting if you’re struggling with your mental wellbeing. Our accommodation on Campus  West is located a 25 minute walk into York city centre. There are lots of sustainable transport  options into town from Campus East and West including cycling, buses,  electric e-scooters or e-bikes.
