I have heard a lot of people knocking e bikes. BUT they are actually really good and some of my favorite type of bikes to ride. Also, if anyone tells you they are for lazy people, they are WRONG. I put my regular bike and my e bike to the test. I did a thirty minute challenge on each bike to see how much more I can ride. I got to ride double the amount on my e bike vs my regular bike. And no, I am not here to say one bike is better than the other but I am here to share why one might want to choose an e bike over a regular bike. If you’re pressed with time and still want to get out and ride this is a great option for you. Along with many other great reasons one might choose this bike too. I would also like to point out that you do still get an extremely good work out… maybe even more of a work out because of how much more riding time you can get. I love both my Liv intrigue bikes….As long as were out on a bike were doing it. Hopefully this video helped you see that e bikes can in fact be a good choice for you.

Thank you for watching and hope to catch you on a trail near you!

Going to get down to the bottom of it I’m here to see which bike is better for us on certain days all right so I just made it to Aliso I will be riding one of my favorite Trails called links I am going to ride my

Regular bike and my ebike for 30 minutes I’m going to see how many times I can ride this Trail on each bike I’m also going to challenge myself with climbing up this awfully Dreadful Trail called Troya usually I go up the neighborhood way through the streets it’s a much more

Enjoyable climb but today we’re up for a challenge to really see what both of these bikes are capable of doing and really what I’m capable doing on each bike so we’re going to give this a shot let’s go all right so I am climbing up it’s a neighborhood road to the first Trail

Which is called Lynx an Absolut glorious day out here unreal it’s about 7 minutes just made it to the trail head this is pretty much the top links baby here we go I’m dropping in let’s call this drop number one oh oh my God it’s so it’s so dry it’s so loose

God this is so sick this is Troya I’m climbing through this Trail it’s single track very techy and I’m going to be going up to the top right around there I did stop a little bit I let someone pass me yeah I did no shame second Loop made it to the top I’m

At around 23 minutes right now and by the time I get down I think that’ll be it for me I’m going to take the easy way back to the van and uh get the ebike and see how how much I can do with that bike all right drop number two on the regular

Bike here we go just cruising down on this epic trail moving fast baby wo oh yeah I’m at 31 minutes right now pretty much surpassed the 30 minutes that I intended to do this in with the regular bike I did two times down links one climb up Troya and that was 30 minutes

Let’s see how it is on the ebike what’s up everyone I am interrupting this video with something that I’m sure every single one of you is or has been thinking about whaty bike am I on this bike is actually super beautiful so I really want to find a

Bike check let’s get back to the video all right I am on drop number one with E Bike I also made it up here in 3 minutes versus the regular bike that took me about 5 minutes ready to go on the roof the take us to the

To always bringing the mag I got the down my automatic you know my everyday life sound dramatic but when you got it like this got to make it AE all right climb number one up Troya with the ebike I am really enjoying the climb up now cruising up On 21 minutes I had a couple holdups on the climb big group of people but it’s okay and a couple other holdups I’m on the trail but so Faro thank you yep thank you hikers oh my God what a who okay all right you know what I actually knew that was going to

Happen oh boy all right let’s bring it back in Notch I completely just ate it I knew that was going to happen too I saw that it was like a rut and I knew every time I rode it I was like going into it and I got sucked in and I

Fell all right I’m back going to finish strong um took a little spill but I’m all right a little shaky my lip I thought I cut it open but it’s just a scratch so I’m good to go this is this is the reality of riding this is the

Reality of biking we do crash sometimes but you know thankfully I’m okay and I’m going to keep riding well the gloves didn’t break that’s a great thing but my hands definitely got messed up imagine if I wasn’t wearing these gloves back to the van safe and sound that was fun all right

Well that was very eventful I am now heading back to the house but making a quick stop I’m going to get some lamb chops to make me feel better I’m taking you all with me we’re going to hold Food Well that’s a wrap for today’s video hopefully we all learned that ebikes aren’t so bad and if you’re a little pressed with time and still want to ride the trails an ebike might be a great option for you I hope you all enjoyed this video stay tuned for next week I’m

    1. Have an Haibike e-Bike with mid engine (the ones you should get instead of wheel motor), never understood any of the stupid purists while I was having lots of fun.
Better yet, it's a gen2 Bosch engine, which means I can have all parts replaced (already did it once) and give the middle finger to Bosch and their recent BS in motors and no supply of parts for them.

So, yeah, f the haters, e-bikes all the way.

    2. Been out of SoCal for a couple of years now…..the one trail I don't miss is Cholla! I'm in Arizona now and haven't found a trail like it…luckily 🤣
      🤘🤘

    3. why you dont wear full face helmet . theres a lot of viewers following you it would be nice to set an example all the time to wear full face coz it does protect.

    4. I was riding up a steep trail one day and a 70 year old woman coming down called me a "little B!tch" because she thought I was on an Ebike! haha Grandma was hard core and sorta made me thing twice about and Ebike (at least for a few minutes) LOL BTW… Heather, you live in my hood! I'm on BBI.

    5. The weekend is here🤗 I'm riding the e-bike on Saturday because I going solo and I'm riding my regular bike on sunday because I have a group ride with friends and I'm the only one in the group that has an e-bike. Not my problem🤗

    6. I've been a MTBer for 35 years now, raced every discipline, rode every type of bike, every iteration of tech before suspension, with suspension, heavy 35 + lbs bikes, all of it. Each iteration of advancement in frames, suspension, materials ect. made riding up or down much easier. Now the bikes are very specific to your objective, your desired experience: i.e., cross country, enduro, all mountain, trail, downhill….whatever. These bikes are all very different, all give up one attribute to enhance another, all specific to what you are trying to experience. Ebikes comes in all flavors as well with the objective to ride more often, longer, and in. my case to get a heavy enduro up the hill to go down…to experience what I want to experience. If I wanted to suffer on the climb, I would, but I don't. Pick the bike that gets you the experience you want, don';t fall into the "roadie" mentality of the only thing that matters is the climb and fitness. Actually, look into the origins of MTB, it's not going up (they put the bikes in a pickup and drove), it's going down. That is where 95% of the skills reside anyway. Ride and be stoked, be cool to others, and stop competing with everyone…just ride!

    7. I love my eMTB. Ebikes are a cheat code to pure ALL DAY fun. FULL POWER, BIGGEST Battery, 170MM travel and don’t forget lights cause you can be out longer than you think. ❤

    8. i skip cholla and go up the fireroad along the houses after the trail signs at the concrete ramp 👍 cholla is a mission. its hard not to ebike laguna when theres so much climbing after any downhill. you just save hours

    9. I couldn’t help but notice you were on the highest while climbing. Won’t get many laps on that setting! In a real world comparison you should of had it on the green or yellow.
As for your gear and terrain, I ride similar Terrain , I have a full face, neck brace, knee and arm guards, don’t want to be an old father type and give advice, but being 66 and an aggressive rider I will! Get better gear, I did and it has saved me on many occasions. But an enjoyable video, well done.

    10. Hi, the eMTB it's a new and different sport, you will realized the eBike allows you to discover another dimension, I really discovered the trails itself with the ebike, after riding almost 40 years regular bikes, now I think, the perfect combo is an E-bike and a DH bike (for bike parks and races). And if some hater say you something, let me know, eBikes are not for lazy people, its just for everyone who wants to go up faster, farthest and hier (and enjoy more). There are many test about the effort/energy/heart rate/etc. that you spend on a eBike vs a regular bike, and all agree about its almost the same with some differences between the upperbody and lowerboddy. So enjoy!

    11. I rode that trail system, this year, while on vacation (DisneyLand) You're right about Cholla. That climb is so hard! I even asked the locals if they had climbing trails that weren't straight up the mountain? Seriously, have the trail builders never heard of switchbacks? HAHA! Coming from Utah, at a much higher elevation, I wasn't expecting to get so worn out on the climb. Those downhill trails are amazing though! I definitely could have used an e-bike.

    12. I just got my first ebike (Fezzari Timp Peak) and it is a game changer. Loving it so far as it helps me with my weakest spot, clibming. I'm 55 with Hypertrophic CardioMyopathy. I had open heart in 2020 (Septal Myectomy), cardiac ablation in 2022 and I have had 13 cardioversions. I tried for many years to just power through, but it woudl take me 3X as long to climb anything since my heart is so inefficient leaving me unable to breath. I'm ecited to hit some of the mountain trails after the snow melt and hopefully not only have enough energy for the decents, but be able to do multiple laps.
