Today we are going to explore the A5 14in ebike from dyu whilst reviewing this budget friendly Compact and easy to ous little Powerhouse you will be joining me around town off-road in nature and ultimately challenge it for what it’s worth let’s get started unboxing this bike has been an absolute

Treat it’s well packaged and if you pay some extra attention to the manual you find all the details you need about your bike and electric circuits at first I was a little bit skeptical about this hinge on the folding frame but it seems stable enough I do consider that

Charging port cover is a little bit flimsy I guess you’re going to bring the battery indoors anyways and that you do simply by unlocking it and then pulling it out from the bay here’s something I enjoy though these two pedals they are actually threaded in opposite directions

Meaning You Can’t Screw the right side to the left side by accident the seat the steering and the handlebars are mounted with these adjustable clamps when the seat has been mounted you can adjust the tension and when you fold your bike together the rod should be

Sticking out on the bottom end this is the Smart clamp for the foldable steering axis which you pull up like that and then snap into place then unclamp and adjust your handlebar so that you have a comfortable grip on the throttle and then you clamp that into

Place and here is my dyu A5 14in ebike but before I can take her on a spin I need to plug in the battery for power then start her up using the keys there we go unlock and started we are of course on full battery which it should

Be after I’ve just charged it there are a few different Drive modes you have Echo you have mid and you have high I believe these will affect the battery time oh a honky horn ooh frisky and then we have the lights switch for our back and front end lights then quickly check

In the brakes so you have two disc brakes one in the front and one on the back these will come in handy all right I’ve been waiting for long enough I need to give this a ride okay I mean this looks small but I’ll tell you straight

Away it seems to carry some pretty good torque to it it’s some good weather outside so let’s take this thing for a test drive I want to start in Echo mode and then just kick this bike ahead and see what it does I’m kind curious on a of good

Wow that’s pretty impressive considering if you notice I have a backpack on that backpack has camera equipment uh so if my body weight is on the breaking point of what this B should be able to handle with a backpack that’s a few extra kilos and it’s doing fantastic

Right now it’s downhill but that part there was uphill and I’m amazed at how well this pulls me forward so the seating point is really cushion nice on my bum so what I’m going to do is I’m going to take the bike downtown I want to try the waste of batter perly just

Run it Dr right now it’s cold so I don’t even know if I’ll be able to do that maybe I’m going to push ahead and try to add some of the extra throttle and see if that eats at the battery or not from what I’ve heard as it’s a c commuting

Bike it’s supposed to have some decent level of battery life you know for daily commuting depending on how far you’re off and of course if you’re pedaling as well wow riding on gravel is a little bit uncanny that’s the spring season is meding for you you get the hango really

Quickly and if you already have an ebike this is not going to be much of a difference another cool thing is that as I’m pedaling and holding the torque a bit if I then let go and continue pedaling the bike just continuously stays on track like it actually forward

Moment me with this speed that I had initially as I started bilding so it’s a bit like one of those Auto drives I like that then again I didn’t really have an expectations so I’m more or less just excited and a few minutes later I was downtown driving through one of the

Local parks checking out what it was like to drive on a more dirty Road and even with their small diameter the wheels are quite thick and had an easy time gripping the road and the camera will say it’s a bit bumpy over here but I couldn’t feel any of that through the

Well absorbing seat and I’ll say on asphalt this is a very smooth ride and so far I’ve ridden about 3 km mostly just using the power Without Really pedaling all that much and I will say that due to the size of the bike 20 km/ hour when you reach that really feels

Quite fast especially on some Road types but I’ll say if you have a very long stretch to travel it’s just nice to be able to sit back and relax and let the bike do the work for you now I want to try something else so let’s get to the

Other side of the town I so happen to know that on this side of the town There’s a lake bigger than the pond you see here where people go swimming in the Summers and around the lake there’s actually a nice path a Terrain path to be more precise and it’s located just a

Little bit further up ahead this road this has such a freedom field to it I’m allergic to Poland so bike riding in the spring to me it’s a little bit of a give and a take right if I go outside I would actually rather use this and put a mask

On CU it would save you some of that breathing in extra poen for no reason so it’s actually life or even just be able to sometimes relax and get home in one piece without having to worry about Asma adding in the light on the other side of

This tunnel we find the lake Let’s Get Down On the Path now I’ve been a bit cheeky I’ve taken this bike quite a bit of Road just for the sake of it I wanted to see how per not quite thck so I thought you know even in theory should

Be able to do so right and what I’ve noticed is it’s actually performing really well and it wasn’t just the wheels the seat and everything else in the bike worked really well on this type of terrain too sure this specific model isn’t a Terrain bike but it has shock

Dampers on the front fork and they catch a lot of that uneven ground underneath your bike now I happen to know that there’s a bridge up ahead let’s try to get ourselves over that one too I know some people are going to say but you’re driving an electric bike and this is

Water shouldn’t you be worried about that now you can see there’s railing around this I nothing to worry about I mean see it’s fine however I guess I jinxed it cuz on this other Bridge there is no railing it’s just a slim open Bridge so let’s go for it let’s drive

Over this one too oh oh oh easy now and fine Told You So the bike from dyu what is it to like about it I would say most things actually I can’t take anything away from this bike except the size that might be it actually but then

On the other hand I do have a wife and a son that would probably love to ride this too and they’re smaller than me so with that considered I don’t think that’s a setback at all actually it’s a bit better beneficial that we all can use it the rear light is fantastic it’s

Strong it’s potent it’s easy to see in the dark but it’s also very clear in daylight as you’re breaking it’s also flashing red backwards as you do as you saw there the bike had no issues bringing me around town so I decided I

Was going to take the bike on a bit of a journey the luggage area on my car is not really big so putting the bike into it was maybe going to be an issue if it was bigger but this Nimble design fits super well I could simply just drop it

In and close we aren’t going to drive super far but I’m going to take us to a place slightly further up town since so far we’ve been riding the bike on pretty flat ground around the city the terrain up here at our recreation facility is a lot more diverse especially a specific

Element of it and as you’ll notice unfolding the bike takes less than a minute once you reach your destination the outer temperature today is less than 10° C but I know something else that’s 10° and that’s why I decided to bring this bike to Bing in hesa city is pretty

Flat down below as you’ve noticed in the early part of this video this bike had no problems pulling my body weight whatsoever and the reason to why we are here is just below us this place happens to have the steepest incline on the hillside that any Road in our city has

And to me that comes across as the biggest challenge I can put on this bike I feel sorry for you already so we are already maxing out the loading weight on this bike so with that in mind oh actually I come to realize I should probably have one of these on there we

Go now it’s a bit safer cuz I noticed there were gravel on the road so as I said we have max weight loaded on the bike so I really have no idea what’s about to happen so here’s the deal over there is a hill it’s a pretty

Significant Hill it’s not super far but it’s big enough for this bike to probably put up a bit of a challenge at least I’m kind of hoping to get some H you know but I’m going to flip you guys around and let you take a look at the

City as we go down and then we’ll check what happens when we go back up again all right here we go let’s give it a test pay attention to the gravel you should hopefully be able to notice as we come up over this hill time that it is a

Pretty pretty significant Hill we’re going down and then follow the bike track as directed here in the borders all right you guys ready I’m reach just going to let the bike free fall here we’re currently at 14 km/ hour 16 km/ hour I’m going to have to pull the

Brakes down because over there on the very ledge as you can see just in front of us that’s where the hill really starts to climb downwards what I do like about the bike is that it does break you to some extent like currently we are traveling downwards it’s actually

Limiting our top speed which I do enjoy a bit cuz that means it’s a bit saf to bike downhill well I say that cuz here’s the climb we’re just over this ledge right here and I don’t know if you can see the mountain range in the background so I

Decided to just let the speed Carry Me downhill but I soon realized that the amount of gravel here is a bit uncanny so so I’m I’m popping the brakes a bit here cuz we were up at 20 km per hour I’ll tell you straight away I am not a

Fan of the idea of going downhill on this bike with gravel on the road at a top speed of anything higher than 20 km per hour cuz if I slip that’s going to be a pretty tremendous fall and as we’re going down to the turn here I’m going to

Switch this around and see if we can make ourselves uphill so we’re now just below the worst part of this climb and this is all the downhill will’ll get it’s literally just like 2 m so we’ll see all right so I’ve mounted your peep slightly further down so you can see

This reader I hope it’s visible on screen all right let’s go I’m going to start by pushing the engine engine is pushing engine is pushing engine is pushing it’s just the engine so far and I definitely going to have to go in and pedal this so right now I’m giving the

Engine all the thrust I can give it’s it’s heavy for it I am pedaling yeah no okay so what I can say straight away is that with my body weight my dad body and this bike situation it’s not going to get me uphill we barely made any

Progress on this hill whatsoever this is one of the smaller roads next to the one we were currently on it’s a bit of a path upway actually going to take a stop here it’s also one of the first spring days of 2024 so I’m trying to enjoy as

Much as I can of it what you can see down there in the distance is a little piece of HDA personally I live down there somewhere it is is so the hill around here has been around 10° and the bike is said to be

Able to carry out on 15° but what can I say this bike may not be able to carry me up this hill but it carries me everywhere else and that’s what matters cuz this is a city commuting bike simple fast to use Nimble and easy to tuck away

So beware about the max load ah I’m just going to let this Carry Me Home that was intense I really need to get start working out so what’s my final verdict then well I consider it’s really great I am obviously not expecting that this should be able to load my body weight

And bring it uphill but even when it’s going slightly uphill the support to pedaling is great now I am obviously not a normal sized guy carrying out at 6’3 or 190 is CM if you so well and obviously the wheels in my opinion are a bit too tiny to feel comfortable as I’m

Driving around I would have wish it was a bit more balancing to them but even then they’re still performing really great all things considered I wanted to have some kind of transmission on this one changing gears you know slightly less pedaling for the same kind of Leverage chest your on flat ground cuz

Otherwise you’re just pedling and pedaling and pedling and pedaling but that’s still fine cuz this bike does pull my way to these now I would want to add another headlight to the bar cuz the one that’s on the frame is actually hard mounted facing forward meaning that’s

Turn there’s no light in that direction so that’s a bit of a let down but I don’t mind that too much cuz having two lights is actually much better than having just one the more lights the better especially during dark seasons and with spring and summer now moving in

On Europe I am looking forward to taking this with me all throughout summer I’m definitely going to be using it a lot downtown when going to meetings and such so you might see it present in the background of some videos in the future now I will say this an ebike may not be

Best suited thing for everybody because I wouldn’t say it’s good for kids to not get their daily workout routine but if you’re regularly commuting and if you’re living in a city and you’re slightly older and you have this distance to go every day back and forth I would get one

Of these so if you’re looking for an easy to use and budget friendly ebike I would check out the links in the description below and I thank you once more to dyu for sending me this epic little Powerhouse

    1. Hi I wanted to ask if the bike was comfortable in case of riding on bad roads, since you took it off-road did the bike suspension worked when maybe there was a Little Rock or a pothole?
Also was the climb really steep? Because it’s strange the bike didn’t manage to do it I saw other reviews saying it’s good even for small climbs.
