Well hi guys Mark here welcome again to pool Moto here in the south of England and today we’re going to be reviewing the Benelli bn125 stay tuned and I’ll give you my thoughts on [Applause] it He Well hi guys Mark here welcome today to a review on the Benelli bn125 and as always thanks to Paul Moto for Lending me this bike today so just run through all the specifications first of all so this is coming in at 2,599 plus the on the road at the

Moment shares the same engine as the uh the tnt1 125 that’s a great little bike it’s a 125cc air cooled single overhead cam putting out around about 11 horsepower at 9,500 RPM and torque is 10 NT M at 72,000 RPM it’s a very smooth Little Engine

It’s quite free revving it’s a it’s a fun little engine so it’s well suited to this machine which is sort of like a commuter sort of sports sort of weekend fun little bike really tires we’ve got CST tires on these we’ve got a 100 section on the

Front and a 130 section on the rear there 17-in Wheels decent tires no problems with those today even in these sort of wet conditions very low seat height on this it’s ideal for you if you’re a beginner to uh nicely get your feet down to the

Ground a 770 mm seat is it’s very well padded it’s nice and comfortable for all day riding take a look at me on the bike as a reference I’m 5′ 7 tall 170 cm with a 30in inside leg then you can compare that for yourself

We have a 13.5 L fuel tank uh from experience these little bikes are very economical you’re going to get around about 100 mp gallon out of these which is going to give you at least 250 M range I would have thought weighing in 142 Kil wet weight nice and light off the side

Stand there easy to push around ideal smooth shifting positive 5-speed gearbox no problems with that just looking around the bike you know it’s the usual sort of very good Benelli build quality nice paint work fixtures and fittings look good so I’ve ridden most of the Bellis now and I’ve

Been impressed with all of them got a single disc up front for braking petal disc with a two piston sliding caliper and these have what’s called CBS combined braking where you can you put the back brake on and it puts the front on uh instead of ABS we’ve got LED indicators up front

Little LED side lights here hogen main bulb at the back we have led rear light and led indicators we’ve got non-adjustable front forks which are upside down they provide uh well damped handling it’s nice nice sort of controlled handling on this bike no problems with that rear shock Monoshock up in there

Which is preload adjustable I do like the sort of trellis frame look looks quite smart these bikes are very cheap to um service and they’re easy to service so no problems there they’re reliable bikes and they come in this really nice sort of lime green they also come in white black and a

Gray um I’ve had that seat off there there’s no storage under there just just the battery under there convenient grab handles that’s nice nice that it comes with a center stand for maintenance and cleaning that’s great anyway guys let’s do the test ride shall we let’s try out this stunning looking Benelli bn1

125 so nice low seat of 770 mil I’m not that tall 5’7 and I’m easily flat footed with my knees bent as well so as I said earlier if you know if you’re um a newcomer to biking this is going to uh uh be very confidence inspiring for you

So just sitting on the bike it’s very comfortable you sit right into it nice bar position all nice and easy to use switch gear you have your headlight flasher there high and low beam indicators and Horn over this side engine kill switch hazards and your’ll start so nice and simple

Little LCD Dash there showing your revs Speedo trips a andb odometer you got a gear position gear position indicator which is great fuel gauge and all your warning lights down there and um your sort of push buttons for your different trips so starter up so super easy on the starter settles

Down to a lovely little single cylinder Rumble very nice indeed all right then let’s try this out nice light clutch easily into first gear and a super smooth pull away that’s great okay so out on the open road on the Benelli bn125 and uh so far very impressed with

This little bike it’s uh it’s free revving the engine’s nice and smooth for an air cooled single cylinder riding positions comfy it’s quite sporty actually so let’s just run Fu the bike in the usual way starting off with the mirrors same mirrors that you get on the TNT

125 I can see a little bit of my elbows but on the whole decent view behind no problems there at all LCD display there I can see my gears and the speed and the revs all pretty easily got your trip meters as well fuel gauge so that’s a nice little little

Display there no problems with that riding position obviously it’s a naked machine so it’s nice and upright you can rate These Bars backwards and forwards a bit to suit your style but on the whole it’s a nice upright position my legs are pretty much straight down quite sporty they’re quite

Bent up I think if you were a bit taller than me I’m 5′ 7 if you were sort of 6t you still have enough room here the bike weighs in 100 140 kilos wet ready to ride but it um feels nice and stable it’s got a decent weight to

It um for 125 it sort of holds the road very well all the air suspension feels well set up um the preload adjustable rear shock feels nice it’s sort of set up on the sporty side I would say it’s slightly firm it doesn’t sort of wallow

Or Pogo or anything like that but it’s still cant enough to soak up most of the bumps as I said top speeds around about 65 mph dependent on conditions right we just try a little brake test out nothing behind front and rear okay you got CBS combined braking

On this but that works nice and strong it’s all good so we’re just in third gear now just winding it out through that mid-range it’s a very keen free reving little engine putting out around about 11 horsepower so sort of 50 50 55 mph cruising no problem at all on this okay

So we’re just coming into town let’s see how the uh the Benelli rid at the low speed so we’re just currently in fourth gear engine’s just purring along at about 4,000 revs about 30 mph very smooth really does ride nicely this little bike it’s very comfortable suspension’s decent gives a good ride

It’s a slightly sporty suspension but it’s still compliant for the bumps but no this is really nice throttle response off off the throttle to on the throttle is all very smooth and mellow so a lot of people are going to be buying these to go to work on go to

The shops commuting all that sort of thing and this little bike is superb at the lower speed it’s just purring along here now see if it’ll take fifth gear look at that it’ll even even take fifth gear at 30 drop it down to Fourth again so the pickup from low speed it’s pretty

Decent excellent visibility from the mirrors riding positions really good back brake is obviously the combined braking system when you put the back brake on it does a bit of front as as well just going to drop it down just a second very easy slow manners now all

The switch gears nice and easy to use just Feathering that clutch the second gear just opening it up a bit up to 30 again fourth gear here yeah the Benelli is really nice there’s no nasty hunting surging from that fuel injection all works perfectly well so there you go guys yep the Benelli

Bn125 is a superb little run around and perfect in town as I say very impressed how smooth it is I can just feel the slightest little um buzz coming through the foot pegs but nothing to worry about at all it’s down to Fourth now just watch it

Here it’s very slippery at the moment we’re in the winter here just pulling up this hill quite steep here into Fifth and it’s holding its own up this hill no problem at all the seat is very comfortable it’s quite a bit of a space to move about you do sit quite into the

Bike feels really comfy it’s definitely a sort of a a sporty nature bike around the bendz it’s good fun it’s got a decent decent build quality and it feels well put together I say they it’s based on the the same engine as the TNT this is just the

Bigger version really so um and they’re they’re a proven little bike and some of these these have been out for a few years now just got going down the gearbox now very slick and positive gearbox that’s good I mean the bike’s new it only get smoother as it runs in more but um

Yeah right we’ll just see what it goes like into neutral there’s neutral first and back into neutral so no problems there all right we’ll just leave it running so we’ve got LED indicators LED sort of side lights there hallogen main bulb and led rear light and led indicators that’s all

Good let’s give you a little sound check excellent and another look at that little dash for you yeah very nice little 125 that well priced goes well let’s just see what it’s like to put onto the center stand nice that it comes with a center stand a lot of bikes

Don’t these days so that’s super easy to put onto the center stand I like that and say it’s got a nice weight to it it’s not overly heavy it’s got a decent turning Circle decent steering lock that’s all good I like that I like the fact it’s got decent grab

Rails as well for your passenger or to move it about all right let’s just uh take a look around it so yeah those CST tires seem absolutely fine um well damped front forks nonadjustable but really good for the roads in the UK as we get you know bumpy roads absolutely no problems at

All with them strong combined braking system I do like this um this trellis frame sort of look but as with all the Benelli these days I’ve had a lot of experience riding all the models in the Benelli range they’re well put together they’re reliable bikes just keep them serviced you

Shouldn’t have any problems with them but yeah very comfortable looks decent um no storage under there I have checked it’s just the batter under there I’ve made it very dirty but know all the build quality the paint Works nice on these so there you go guys Benelli

Bn125 have you got one of these how’s it going I say if you are looking for a 125 as a sort of a stylish commuter uh weekend bit of fun around the around the twisties definitely give one of these a look they’re well priced they they’re smart looking and obviously it’s a step

Up in size from the um the tnt1 125 so anyway guys please post your comments down below don’t forget to give me a like share and subscribe as always and I’ll see you in a week or so for another review take care guys ride safe all the best and bye for now

    1. When I see a 125cc video I usually pass, but this thing is very cool looking. Nice job doing the usual review that is very thorough. Don’t know where I would find a Benelli dealer here in Wisconsin. If I was using it for town riding these size bikes make complete sense. Great mileage with a decent size fuel tank size. All the best.

    2. Great bike.. nice colour reminds me of the Speed Triple 955 they did a similar colour scheme.. benelli seem to have to some nice bikes coming, Moto Moroni also have some nice new bikes.. hope you get to test ride ride the new Guzzi Stelvio 😊 love Guzzis ❤ Pete

    3. Cracking looking machine, good performance compared to the 125s of my day. In their home markets EU and Asia I bet they do a bomb, but feel youth in the uk are prevented from enjoying this aspect of youth through govt nanny state and costs. I am 64 and have had 125 commuter bikes all my life to get to work on. I have to say as I have aged I like the twist and go, no chain and weather protection versions now. But as a youth wouldnt give them a look. On my x max 250 I could almost ride without waterproofs – almost😂
Superb review. I can see these size machines becoming hugely popular amongst commuters OR bombing due to lack of interest. I d rather have one of these than an EV. Northern European countries youth seem to be walking away from this mode of transport.

    4. Lovely little bike, as usual with me its just too small at 125cc. If they bumped up the capacity to say 160 /175 it would be so much more torquey without any excessive increase in top speed, much safer on the road. But a great review Mark keep them coming.

    5. I did my CBT in May this year on one of these and it was a great little bike. Two hours on the yard then two hours on the road (in the pouring rain!) and it gave me a great deal of confidence (was my first time on a bike since I rode a Yamaha TY80 as a schoolboy in 1981!) I rode an MT07 on a conversion lesson after my CBT, with a view to doing my DAS, and by comparison I felt totally out of my depth! Seriously thinking about buying a BN125 to get a bit of experience before I even think about getting on a bigger bike again.

    6. Great little bike. So easy to ride. Great in and around town. Bought one as my first bike rode it for 15 months after doing my CBT. Still got it even after getting full license and moving onto a ninja 650.

    7. Love this bike. Passed on a automatic and then brought this and taught myself gears and clutch. Super easy the acceleration isnt to be sniffed at for a 125cc. Leaning on turns is also a plus

    8. My daughter bought a Benelli bn 125 as a daily ride to work bike, its covered 8k miles in its first year, only issue was thenumber plate light blew, top speed according to my bikes speedo is 73mph. Its handling is surprisingly good as the lack of chicken strip on front tyre will contest to this , cost £2300 compared to £5100 for a Yamaha mt 125 for sale at the same dealer …

    9. I wanted to buy the tnt 125 as a daily bike to drive to work but then i saw this. Do you guys think its any good for that? I need to to drive about 30 kms from home to work.

    10. the price is tempting but the quality doesn’t match Japanese or European bikes I had a Keeway rkf which uses the same bottom end as this bike but different top end and the gear box and clutch literally exploded after 5000 miles not all the Chinese bikes are bad but the amount of defects that these bikes are shipped with is ridiculous the quality control is absolutely shocking you’ll never have these issues with a reputable brand
