try a bit of wd40 and wipe until the residue goes away. its a poor mans polish job to remove the dried out clear coat thats causing the oxidized look. I work at a bike shop and customers are always impressed when their bike comes back looking all shiny using this trick.

Yikes, too bad you need to strip her, but that’s the right thing to do. If there are no other locations where the metal is being affected, could always treat that area, seal and repaint an artistic band, clear over the entire frame.
Vinegar is your friend.

Try furniture polish on a miracle cloth. Don’t spray it on the bike, spray it on the cloth.
