I went to the latest volcanic eruption in Iceland near Litli HrĂștur (Fagradalsfjall) and I took a 4K timelapse of the whole path (Path E). Make sure you watch this video before you decide to embark on the 12 mile hike.
This is the same route @MaxFosh took to cook the world’s hottest microwave meal.
You can watch the uninterrupted timelapse here in 4K once you have enjoyed this video. https://youtu.be/1W4rFWBiT5E

Loved the volcano đ hike vidâŠloved the big show from the comfort of my TV room even more.†Karl!
That damn tech… always messing with you! đ€Ł An informative video that should help lots of people know what they're up against.
It looked like a looong route indeed. Can you imagine the first time it erupted, we walked all the way from the Blue Lagoon through the lava fields and very steep hills?! It was hell! 24 km in total. But it was soooo worth it! Thankfully they improved the paths quickly and the distances became shorter. This new path looks quite decent already, but it's a long distance for sure. A bit sad that you couldn't get closer. During the first eruption, we were probably within 100 meters from the crater. It was totally insane!
Thanks Karl! See you Sunday!
Thanks for the video. Your drone seems pretty smart – it didn't want to get too close, so found its way back to you. Go soak in a hot tub and drink some beer!
Thank you for doing this so I don't have to.
I guess I got lucky. I spent 3 days sleeping my my Jimny in Grindavik waiting for the trail to open. On my way to the airport to come home empty handed they finally opened the trail. Delayed my return flight and off to the trail! I'm used to rocky trails so that wasn't an issue. I also was bummed about how far they were keeping everyone. However, at around 1am that night the security and police just left. A few hundred of us were then able to get closer. I spent a total of 16 hours on the trail. It was one of the most epic adventures I've been on, and that's saying something. Without the volcano and the lava river, yes it was miserable. That wind and dust was awful! However, witnessing that powerful display by God, it made it all worth it. Next time, I think I'll rent an ebike with fat tires.
can't you really go any closer? Seen people like few houndred meters away from the volcano on insta…
Karl 1, you need to get yourself an electric bike man. Time to upgrade!!
You cant get as close as 21. Will that change if the wind comes from the south?
This looks stunning my friend, absolutely gorgeous work! Shots are spectacular!
When did you get there? On the 20th of July?
Would a electric bike have helped any ???
Please stop with the cracking on Americans đ
I don't ever hear any of us cracking on you and your system. You don't get why we use it and we don't get why you use yours..
But no sense in being rude and cracking on us for it. I gave a thumbs up until you said that….
Thanks, Karl. Ignore the down arrow – I love the banter of this channel!
Go at night for better views.
Did you start from the P1 or P2? Will be there in couple of days.
We had a great hike up from Parking Lot 2 this past Saturday. About 11 miles round trip. Well worth it. Awesome videos of dirt devils as well as tourists being chased away from lava by safety people. Lots of people on electric bikes. Many people too late arriving to get back before the 6pm closing time.
