Tantalus son of Zeus and the nymph PLO not to be confused with Pluto invites Zeus and the other gods to dinner they feed the gods a stew made from their own son pelops to test if the gods were really that smart and if they would realize that the stew was made of human

Of course they realized and almost all of them didn’t eat the stew except one demer who was distracted at the time and ate a shoulder the gods were mad and Tantalus was sent to Tartarus where he was tortured when he reached to pick the fruit of the nearby fruit tree the fruit

Was always just Out Of Reach and when they reached down to drink the water from the stream the water drained away tantalizing the gods revived pelops and used a piece of ivory to replace for the shoulder that had been chewed on by the absent-minded demer pelops married hippodamia apparently he did this by

Beating her father in a chariot race but the Chariot of the father was sabotaged her father died and pelops married and got a king K om he also had a lot of kids including the twins Atrius and thases who also murdered a half brother called Copus to remove some of the

Competition for accession to the throne as a punishment they were banished to the kingdom of minini together along with their mother hippodamia the resident king of M was away fighting Wars so Atrius and thyestes were in charge but eventually it came the time for one of them to become king Atrius

Thought he had this all sewn up because he had a golden fleece that he would use to bribe the gods however his wife arope was having an affair with his brother thyestes and gave the fleece to him game over almost Atrius made a deal with the

Gods they the gods told Atrius that they would arrange one day for the sun to rise in the west and set in the east Atrius then tells thases something like look I know you have this King thing sewn up but tell you what give me one last chance if tomorrow the sun rises

And in the west and sets in the East will you let me be king thases replied yes have your last chance and then when you look like an idiot because sun does what it always does rise and set normally will you then leave well next morning guess what Atrius feels like the

Cat that got the cream and gets the crown Atrius also finds out that his wife and his brother thyestes were lovers obviously some kind of Revenge is needed Atrius went back through his family history looking for ideas and came across his grandfather tantalus’s cookbook shortly after he invited his

Brother for dinner and served a nice stew containing yes you guessed it the Flesh of some of fest’s sons following the rules in place at the time he was thyestes who got banished for eating human flesh thyestes was unimpressed and went to consult with the Oracle

According to the Oracle he had to have sex with his own daughter ppia and then the child of this incestuous affair would end up killing Atrius later said child Eustice was abandoned not surprising given the circumstances of the conception but was then shortly after adopted by Atrius who was unaware

Of who the child’s original parents were and you’ve guessed it the child Eustice grows up and eventually kills Atrius although the marriage of Atrius and a rope was not without its challenges they did have a lot of children two of which were named Agamemnon and menus Agamemnon married Clum nestra and his brother

Menaus married the beautiful Helen but Helen got carried off to Troy and the two brothers had to get together a fleet of ships and an army to go and get her back unfortunately Agamemnon had upset the goddess emis saying that he was a better Hunter than her Artemis took

Revenge by causing the winds to stop blowing so that agamemnon’s ships were completely stuck and could not sail to Troy given the circumstances Agamemnon did what any self respecting mythological hero would do he sacrificed his daughter ifag genah to please the gods which worked of course the winds

Started to blow again and Agamemnon and menus left for Troy where they were eventually Victorious but back home clestra was not at all happy that her daughter had been sacrificed she took e Justice yes him again as her lover and ploted her revenge when Agamemnon returned home after the victory against

Troy Clum nestra St stabbed him to death just as he was about to have a bath this unending cycle of Despair was finally broken by orestes the sun of Agamemnon and Clum nestra encouraged by his sister Electra he murdered his mother and then spent many years wandering through the

World praying and begging the gods for forgiveness the gods eventually gave in and the curse was finally broken thanks for watching and if you enjoy mythology related content from around the world please don’t forget to like com comment and subscribe until next time
