On Friday a foreign tourist in India put up a video on Instagram she was talking about her travels in India and her she had bruises on her face she had been gang raped by seven men during her trip this incident happened in the state of jarand her husband who was with her was
Beaten up badly the story led to a lot of outrage and condemnation the authorities swung into action three of the accused have been caught four others are on the run now this is not the first such incident in the country chances are it won’t be the last every 18 minutes a
Woman is raped in India this is data from the government of India and this incident has sparked a fierce debate on social media about women’s safety and women tourists our next report has more 5 years 63 countries 170,000 km this couple began their world tour half a day decade ago they boarded their
Bikes and never looked back but their Journey took a horrible turn last week the woman and her husband were on a biking trip in India they were traveling from West Bengal to Nepal on their way they stopped in jarand it was around 5:00 p.m. so they decided to spend the
Night there they set up a temporary camp and were preparing to go to bed that’s when seven men entered their tent they beat the couple they robbed them they raped the woman and threatened to kill the duo at around 11:00 p.m. the couple flagged down a patrol van the patrolling
Team couldn’t understand what they said but they looked visibly injured so the van took them for treatment that’s when the couple told the doctors about the rape prompting the police to jump into action three of those men have been arrested and four are still on the
Run the woman is a dual National the Brazilian embassy was informed and so was the Spanish Embassy as the couple used Spanish passports to enter India over the weekend the 28-year-old took to social media she put up a video on her Instagram page it was in Spanish she
Talked about her ordal she showed the bruises on her face and how glad she was to be alive her husband posted a similar video the videos are not on their page anymore but it sparked a fierce debate is India safe for women tourists over the weekend Indians and foreigners
Shared their stories they all had one thing in common how they faced sexual harassment or have been a witness to it one such post got a response from the chief of India’s national commission for women Reika Sharma commented on the post she questioned why the person didn’t
Report it and asked them to not defame the whole country but was the tweet defaming India or are these heinous incidents doing that in 2023 a Korean vlogger was sexually harassed in Rajasthan that same year a Dutch tourist was molested and stabbed in Goa in 2018
A British tourist was raped in Goa too in 2016 an American woman alleged she was gang raped in a hotel in the national capital in 2013 a Swiss tourist was gang raped by six men they were later sentenced to life in prison and it’s not just foreign tourists
Indian women have faced the brunt as well every day an average of 90 rapes are recorded in 2013 the country amended its rape law it broadened the definition it brought in new punishments for sexual assault and stalking yet it hasn’t changed much on the ground this latest incident could lead to more policing
More awareness stronger condemnation and more conversation both on social media and off Prof it but the fact of the matter is every 18 minutes a woman is raped in India we will need much more than conversation and half-baked measures to deal with the issue

Female tourists would be insane to even think about going to India.
Do your research, it's very well known that India is the tourist rape capital of the world.
It's heart breaking to see the trauma this poor Spanish couple have suffered.. so tragic!
Onion people
India is the largest democracy , So,Ppl are Free.
this lady is not Spanish.
This lady was born in Brasil with Spanish nationality.Do not be confused.
Spanish are White people like her partner.
I remember watching the TV show the Amazing Race, and the women kept getting repeatedly groped in India.
And we let them into Australia.
At 1:00–1:05 an image is used of the woman in underwear.. and later an image of her exposing her stomach. This is obscene and should not have been used. At least it should have been blurred. Shame on you for showing this! Rape and clothing are two separate subjects, I do NOT believe one can justify one with the other. Both are evil at different levels. Its like saying is swearing evil, compared to stealing. Of course it is not as bad, but it is still bad. This woman was an exhibitionist who pimps herself, she is harmful for society, but these men did damage physically which is a lot worse.
No offense but thats the dirtiest country with poor hygiene and smelly transportation i have ever encountered. Who in the right mind wants to go there😅😅😅 it was a nightmare
Rape capital of the world
very painful news😢
What the hell was she doing in Jharkhand? It's like getting shot in broad daylight in Memphis and blaming the whole America.
Easy solution: Don’t go to India if you’re a woman…period.
Promoting tourism in India seems paradoxical when we can't ensure a basic safe environment for women tourists.
It's ironic that while we aspire to compete with the Maldives, even our own women feel safer abroad than in their own country. They even traveled through Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, yet got raped only in India.
All hindu country
This is a reflection of the people and government of India! #AccheDeen
What do expect from a cow worshippers
those rapists are hindus, why the media never highlight their religion?
Foreign tourists please stop coming to India, it’s not safe , India is a communal country 😊
Even in western countries, many of us have experiences with extreme sexual harassment by South Asian men, the younger we are the more intense. There is a reason I steer clear of Indian and Pakistani men.
Humans are not human anymore
Isn't Delhi the rape capital
Takes selfies with the Taliban and comes out unscathed. Goes to the biggest hypocrisy in the world and is gang graped. Go figure.
If the rapist was Hindu then the government would support him and as a Indian I can say that the media would try to hide it and the pM modi party would release the rapist and give them to eat sweats but if the rapist was Muslim then every media channel would cover the report
Exceptionally heart wrecking and such a shame. Can't even imagine traveling to a different country to experience this level of barbaric misconduct.
India is not safe for foreign tourists;
India is not safe for women;
India is not safe for minorities;
India is not safe for non-hindus;
India is not safe for Northeast people;
India is not safe for Christians;
India is not safe for Muslims;
Why the army trucks plying in Northeast India are so reckless?
Why Indian armed forces are more terrifying than the armed rebels?
Why Manipur is burning ?
Why the Arambai Tengol are freely allowed to carry arms in public ? Is govt of India financing them secretly to spread terror in Manipur ?
Are indian foods adulterated with harmful chemicals ?
india on top no.1 country in rape cases
Dont go to the india female tourists .😢
Poor india
Musuh
Disgusting…sorry for the victims
Rabakal kene ngemis anak anakmu kriten to maksutmu anakmu rabakal terjadi ning uripku
Feel pity after hearing this. All of the shames goes to it’s govt modi. India needs a perfect leader to grow It towards 1st world countries.
India is a dengerous place to visit.
this is durty indea the reapistan
Finally , you need to focus more on the problems , crimes against women in india .caste system .. this is what stops india really advancing ..oh and what’s religion of these men ..
It's a shame for us indians 😞
India is not safe and uncivilised
That’s nothing in Austria last ten days a 12 year old was gang raped by 17 so called refugees none off which will go to prison because they have no documentation and say they are children also in Vienna the same city 13 year old was murdered by a African who also raped her plus a man murdered 3 lady’s in the red light district. So think twice about coming to Europe
So disgusting. India is off my list of countries to travel to.
To the Spanish couple who got attacked, please come visit China, you will be very very safe and treated with the upmost respect, and China is a far better and exciting place, a place to recuperate from your ordeal in India and restore your faith in humanity.
