Day 231. 23km (50,072kms)
Gorgeous spot to wake up and a lovely ride too. The road rolled and swirled around the headland through cute little villages of white cottages with wooden shutters.

I took a ‘short cut’ from Jalë to Splile which involved pushing poor Gibbo much of the 4km rough 4×4 track. After that exertion then when I emerged at lovely Livadh beach my plans for a lunch stop quickly became an afternoon off spent swimming, reading, and investigating a bunker built in the sand.

When it was time to make camp I headed to the southern secluded end of the beach away from the paid camping. Once set up I was astonished to see a bike tourer emerge from the headland to the south! So I had some very welcome company for the night. I was surprised to hear how many other bike-tourers he’s met and then travelled with by staying in hostels and at Workaways. I should consider these options for myself.

Good morning such cute villages on my ride today this one is funoi i think gorgeous little white cottages with matching wooden shutters beautiful i do love a bunker and this one is built directly on the sand at the end of the beach strangest location yet taking the afternoon off i got here at

Lunchtime and then just never left it’s too lovely plus both the power bank and i both needed a recharge so that’s what’s happening and then in a couple of hours i’ll uh head down the end of the beach and pitch my tent all along the main beach here there’s like

Three different campsites all back in the beach so i need to be a bit discreet but not camping right in front of them i’m riding one kilometer this afternoon from one end of the beach to the other pop down the end find a discreet little camp spot just for me

But what’s this after i’d pitched up for the night and was photographing the tent i saw emerging from the headland on the south side of the beach another bike tourer so i had a neighbour and company for the night which was lovely
