What an absolute Bend there Cy he missed me by about 4 in hey welcome oh welcome back it’s another chilly gray day in the middle of March technically spring but then technically not spring depending upon which metric you choose to use but any Rod up at least it’s not pissing down for a

Change so just going to take a little uh Brucey bonus hey a little bingly bonus ride over the tops from greenh how this little village coming up and we’ll go right over the tops and down past stump cross caverns and from V from stump cross Caverns or shortly thereafter I should

Say we’ll hang a left and we’ll have a ride from Bon of Bon Towers feir uh up to uh a couple of little Villages called East B and earb no correction East B and MC East be an mcy and then uh we’ll bomb back on the

A59 and uh home from there I might not bore you with the a59 hey right so yes any road up right oh first thing I want to do take a look at these a big shout out to Ron big shout out to Ron who I’ve mentioned previously he makes superb bespoke leather goods

Etc personally embossed with your logo of choice and have a look here at some of these Wares that Ron is able to produce for you they are of the very high standard I assure you this is what we can do for you so if you want any of that sort of work doing

If you’re interested in that sort of thing look no further and uh I’ll put uh a link in the description below and uh yeah please uh if you’re interested in that sort of thing get in touch with Ron thank you Ron what a talent you have look at these a

Views it’s probably about as wild as the ores gets is this all right so yes now next thing oh Thursday morning’s video uh please have a look at that it’s the uh ride out review stroke stroke evaluation of the tech bike parts Canon exhaust system and uh that’s a beautiful run

Out and uh the uh the sound of that exhaust will come across loud and clear on that video so you’ll be able to check out what uh what the tech Cannon uh exhaust system on the rooll Enfield super meteor 650 sounds like on the fly out here in the Dales with some

Beautiful countryside to go with it so please have a look at Thursday morning’s video I think you’ll find it uh a cracker if you love a good throbbing motorcycle carving its way through some stunning scenery that be the video for you Thursday morning 6:00 always someone in a hurry isin’t

There all so that’s that and uh at the like to give a bit of a shout out to one or two people uh starting with the winner of the Royal Enfield classic 350 my new bike could you guess what it was that little teaser I did and the

First one to answer correctly well I should point to I should rather point out that um nobody got the color right and nobody got the bike’s name right Hey cuz I’ve named it so anyway the color is house and gray which is actually powder blue a cracking period color very very

Authentic really suits the bike and uh yeah I’m calling it Norman I’m calling it Norman I don’t know why it sort of I suppose a little bit after Norman Wisdom I suppose um cuz uh classic 350s are just a great laugh to ride a hoot to

Ride and of course they uh they are of that era in history uh that particular modern classic reflects a period in history in which old Norman Wisdom was a prolific comedy actor uh in the UK hi so Norman yeah so the winner was Steve Woodman dicks Steve Well Done sir

Otherwise known as the norol Thunderbolt And there’s a a little uh toen of my appreciation winging its way towards you as we speak it’s not special don’t be throwing it on eBay and expecting to get a fortune cuz you won’t but I hope I hope you enjoy it yes

So oh let’s have a little shout out to some of the YouTube channels I uh I do enjoy uh watching uh Moto UK uh I’m mentioning him on Thursday’s video uh as well as um Wildlife motor Jonathan and sha on the mindful motorcyclist I’ve given you guys all a bit of a shout

Out on Thursday’s video but uh I do like to watch uh the all year motorcyclist thank you uh the all year motorcyclist for uh on your Monday mutter showing me the picture that I sent you of me picking up the classic 350 and uh Ian Hughes I like to watch

You Ian uh pottering about John porson I like to watch you John occasionally I do get a lot of pleasure out of watching the smaller YouTube channels I do watch one called the motorcycle Travel Channel I think it’s something like that’s number one and it’s it’s uh Sterling noren’s

Channel he’s based in uh Arizona Southern Arizona in the states and uh does a lot of ride outs around the beautiful wild Landscapes of the United States is a professional filmmaker uh absolute uh cracking series you’ve got Sterling particularly if you like uh well obvious his photography is absolutely Peerless cuz he’s a

Pro um but I like when he goes on his solo trips and uh does the thing over there that we can’t do here which is wild camping in all these beautiful places and uh he uh it Cooks a fair old meal uh just Sterling in an evening it’s worth watching for that

Hi so yeah the motorcycle Travel Channel that’s uh that’s a good one yeah what else I do watch The Usual Suspects from time to time uh what I mean by that like Lamb Chop rides um Bruce teapot one uh TMF the mingon flyer just depending on what he’s putting out

Um and Richie V of course and rich is recently well I think he’s still currently on or he might just have got back from uh a winter trip to Morocco and uh I watched episode three I think it was was the last one that I saw really really interesting I mean apart

From the absolutely stunning Countryside what actually uh impressed me was um Rich’s description about how the people there basically have nothing but like living in mud houses and they’ve got nothing they haven’t got a pot to piss in you know the kids don’t have computer games or anything like

That they have no cars that might have a donkey and um and everything they earn from the work they do just about manages to keep a roof over their heads and keep the families fed and yet they’re always smiling and happy and welcoming of visitors and there’s one part where he

Goes to fill up at this filling station and the guy at The Filling Station says uh you know I’ll met you a cup of tea come and sit down have a pot of tea in a chat with me won’t cost you a penny not a penny and uh yeah they sit down and

Have and have a good old chin waget middle of nowhere at this villing station where this this it’s so humbling you know when you think about all the things we bloody well belly about belly a about here don’t we Witter and Carry On and wine and winge me included I’m no exception but

We do and when you take a moment to think about what the true value of the things that we are belly aching about is and then we look about we look at how people in countries like that deal with a far lesser lot and still managed managed to live a what

Appears to be a um a wholesome wholesome fulfilling and generally happy life and we’re here what 56 richest economy uh on on the face of the planet a lot of time we just belly aing outen we although I have to say there is a lot to belly ache about at the moment but

Let’s not go into that oh no but anyway yeah Richie V in Morocco that’s that’s been a good watch as that he so now the classic 350 right well uh other than um bring taking it home bringing it home from uh Apple yards uh I haven’t ridden the bikee yet

And the reason being is I’ve got quite a few accessories to add to little Norman so courtesy of Hitchcock’s motorcycles who sell all things Royal Enfield it’s I think it’s fair to say it’s the go-to place isn’t it in the UK hitchcox um so thanks very much to Dan

There for your assistance with uh some of the kit that I’ve got and uh four little Norman will be the touring seat in Black instead of brown cuz I think the black looks better and the touring seat the rider seats the ribbed version and uh I shall be removing the

Pan seat Al together cuz I think the bike looks better that way and so do a lot of other people so I’ll be doing that I’ll be and I’ll be putting on the uh Riders touring seat in black and I’ll also be fitting the the Springs at the back those retro looking

Springs that make it look like something out at 50s or 60s I’ll be sticking them on I’ll be putting on some jibet crash bars so you might be pleased to know I’ll not be sticking on them great big cow catchers that I put on the other classic 350 and

Then having a take off cuz it look so ridiculous I’ve just got some divet engine bars just like uh the ones on this a motor gutsy exactly the same shape as them there I so it’ll be fitting them um I was going to fit the Royal Enfield military style paniers but

Hitchcock haven’t got available at the moment the frames that they fit to which is a great shame cuz I do like those paniers and like a muppet of course I had those paniers on the previous clet 350 and I didn’t the the frames and I didn’t take them off what a

Muppet uh so what I’ve had to do is I’ve had to go to um I’ve had to go to I’m just going to stop here and tell you something for a second me as how this is just a rambling on video and here’s another little Niger with these motor gutsy v7s and

It’s a known thing it’s a booger to find neutral there we go this bridge here this is Bolton bridge and uh my old man passed away in 1999 October 23rd 1999 my dad passed 84 years of age and uh about this time of year the following

Year 2000 we came here and Scattered his ashes into the river and uh just right there from that parapet and uhy unbeknown to us there a headwind and all these as’s blw back and covered us so we couldn’t get rid of him came home with us uh say you know

Me the whole or or a big part of the the family his family we all got covered in his ashes this is Bon Towers here look there you go B Towers have a look here can’t give you a date for when that was built what is it 14th 15th 16th century

I don’t know somebody will tell me in the comments I’m sure yes Bon Towers not far from Bolton Abbey uh another historical building not far from here yeah looking uh resplendant there with the uh with the sun on it what’s left of it B towers that is not the

Sun all right where were classic 350 yeah then pan so I’ve had to get some uh aftermarket rails from India hey which to be fair they came within a week got them on eBay 60 quid of a job or whatever and uh they were they were here within a

Week and no import duties or handling charges or tax to pay anything like that and they look absolutely fine um but you can’t fit those military paniers to them because of the way they they uh they attach at the back so I’ve got some uh slightly different Piers uh from uh

Hitchcock that have like webbing strapping on the back and they should attach nicely so that’s what I’m be uh that’s what I’m going to be fitting to the classic 350 in due course uh yeah so I shall be filming that obviously and uh I’ll be doing a review

Of those products I’ll be showing you how to fit those products and of course I’ll be leaving links to the Hitchcock site in case any of them interest you might be coming up for too long look at this right road is this one eh oh look at that the colors are changing already

Beautiful all so yeah thank you to everybody really that had a guess at what the new bike was going to be and of course it is back to the Royal field classic 350 because as I’ve said on more than one occasion I miss having one of those bikes there just something about them

That’s quite difficult to uh to articulate really but they’re just a fun bike and uh there were a few people got uh got the answer um but of course uh Steve you were the first and uh it wasn’t uh by any means the most popular response the most popular response was BSA gold

Star but I have to say hey I did say it were going to be a brand new bike and uh those of you that know know that Apple yards do not sell BSA uh so it were never going to be a BSA Gold Star based on those criteria

I’m afraid but good guess I certainly wouldn’t rule out having a gold star at some point cuz I think they’re an absolutely cracking bike absolutely cracking I’d be more than happy to have one of those uh in the future and then some people said belli trk 702 which will be fair enough given

Uh the glowing review I did the bike recently and uh some of you are particularly observant suggest it be the Suzuki vom 800 de because of all the uh bikes that I reviewed out of apple yards last year I think this I think it’s safe

To say that that bike was the one that impressed me the most I seem to recall saying that it just fit me like a glove as if it had been designed around my frame and uh again in the future that’s a bike I wouldn’t rule out having uh and I would imagine something

Like that is at about the limit in terms of weight that I’d want to feel comfortable with nowadays yes so just uh thought I’d uh bring you on this little spontaneous ride out tell you a little about what’s uh what’s coming to the channel do a few shoutouts give out a few

Thanks and generally comment upon the uh the surroundings hi okay so if there’s anything you’d like to see on the channel coming up whether you’d want to see a particular review of a particular motorcycle or of any particular product or whether you’d like to see some ride outs

To specific areas in and around the orire deales or recommended uh ride outs in and around the orire deales I’ll be happy to do that for you anything generally that you think would add value to the channel cuz I don’t have all the answers I wish I

Did and uh so yeah please feel free to uh put in the comments uh any sort of General themes that you would like to see explored within the content of the channel and I will do my level best to accommodate you all right so that be it for today just a a Brucey

Bonus video I uh I’m not expecting massive views of this but I do like to come out and uh interact shall we say with you uh you good people from time to time without there being a particular subject matter at hand but yeah please uh Thursday morning’s video slow down what an

Absolute B end there K he missed me by about 4 in and it w remotely bothered wor did you see his face hey dear white van man that’s an unfair generalization I’m sure 99% of white van men or any other color of Van men or women just try to learn a

Living but uh when somebody with something like that comes flying around a bend on these uh tight narrow Nery roads and uh nearly sideswipes a motorcycle but makes no attempt to to slow down or um give a wave of apology or whatever anyway best not uh disappear down that particular Rabbit Hole

So until the next time right safe be kind and another one I’ll catch you soon I’ll C for

    1. I have a Guzzi. V85tt. How on earth do you stop that front mounted camera from shaking like it's mounted on the piston? Mine is almost a blur at times and I have tried drone cushion mounts.

    2. Ain't the dales just the best place for a ride! As for the arse in the white van, I'm shure that you know as an ex bobby, that if you managed to have a word with him , he would have no comprehension that he had done anything wrong 😐.

    3. Great video Dave. Loved the Barden Bridge tale. My partners dad who lived around the corner from you in Eldwick sadly died last Friday & we intend to scatter his ashes at Bolton Abbey, we’ll watch out for those head winds. I nodded to you last Thursday as I came out of Cavendish on my Kawasaki after selling his bike for him, the poor lad died the next day without enjoying the money I made for him. Anyway. Keep the vids coming Dave. It’s great to see the same roads my partner & I rave about 🙂👍🏼

    4. A very sentimental moment with respect to your dear father’s ashes spread out over the most beautiful bridge & flowing river below as a tribute to his power.
Looking forward to the adventures on the RE Classic 350! Mechanical & journeys.

    5. Very enjoyable ride out , excellent scenery . I reckon both van drivers were driving on those narrow lanes ,like total 🔔ends. I often find myself taking evasive action ,to avoid similar impatient idiots , who won’t slow down ,or wait behind bikes or tractors & come at me on my side of the road . I think Norman is a good choice for the little RE 350 classic & look forward to seeing the ride outs . The late great Norman Wisdom was my favourite all time comedy actor , his actions & facial expressions alone ,could make me laugh . 👍

    6. Thank you for the mention sir, and I shall look forward to seeing what you have sent me! I was quite sure you would plump for another one of the excellent Classic 350 as you seemed slightly at a loss without one in your stable! Anyway, all is right with the world again. PS, vans are generally a menace….

    7. Great video. Any chance of getting out on a Suzuki V-Strom 800 RE ? Would be interesting hearing your thoughts on the differences with the DE, which you liked a lot. Keep up the great videos 👍🏼

    8. Nice ride out Dave, good to see you back in Classic 350 ownership, I was way out with my guess eh! 😅
      The Guzzi's sounding well 👌
I'm going to have a ride up to Appleyards for a look around this week, as it looks a great place for a mooch around.
Maybe catch up for a brew ?
      Enjoy the Classic, cheers
      Mel 🍻

    9. I love your Brucie bonus waffle videos, your bike life observation and opinions make a refreshing interlude.
There are always dangers on the road especially for two wheeled users, I had a squeaky bum moment yesterday when an idiot Merc driver came around a blind bend at high speed whilst overtaking a tractor and gesticulating at me to move over even further towards the curb, if I had been using a camera the footage would sitting on the NY Police desk now.
Keep up the good work Dave.
      Andy.

    10. There's just no escaping the proverbial white van man is there, Dave they get everywhere. It always amazes me the difference between winter riding and summer riding in the Dales. Last year a went to Grassington in June and it was like Grand Central Station with that bottom car park absolutely rammed as was Grassington village.

    11. Great ride Dave even with that clunky gearbox. You are too generous with your “White van man” percentages.” My estimate of modern white van man is 95% are complete morons whose aim in life is to make bikers’ lives a series of heart stopping moments!!! This estimate is based on 70 years experience on over 20 bikes. Stay safe.

    12. I got most of my accessories for the classic from India and as you say quick delivery and well packed. Great prices. The bar end mirrors getting a bit flaky but for under £30 I could just replace. Like you sold the pan for similar reasons but as miss pillion is generally on the back looking for a more distance bike with some uuumph lol.
My dealer is a Benelli dealer and the TRk looks quite sexy for an adv. not really my style but looks a cheap workhorse would I trust it to blast over on the ferry through France ? What would you go for with Mrs b that miss p would be happy on and I can also blast 💥 ? 👍
      Africa twin perhaps also?

    13. Excellent episode Dave and Norman the Royal Enfield brilliant 😊. Have you given any thought to doing The Distinguished Gentleman's ride out? Cobb and Jagger (Shipley) are hosting one this year.

    14. Just be glad that was not a DPD van dave ,you would have been run over ,made to sign for a parcel and then backed up over. Top gear top tip kiddy's if you find yourself behind a van remember if you can't see the driver in his mirrors he has feck all chance of seeing you.

    15. White Van MAD Man being seated higher, would have not only seen you but would have seen the man walking 2 or 3 dogs.
As a driver of a vw transporter t5 van lve always appreciated the marvellous view l have of the road ahead.
The guy with the dogs 🐕 wouldn't have been please neither.
Any road up 😆 l managed to get Norman's surname right ✅️ 😀

    16. Thanks for the ride along-and I’m very partial to the Dales as I visit just up the hill at Holmsfirth to relatives that live there – quite a long way from Florida tho but I try to get over as often as possible- I wouldn’t mind renting a bike next Time over as there is nothing like those roads where I live
      Congratulations on you newest ride
      All the best
      Regards from Florida

    17. Nice video 👍 You've got some great roads up there, and absolutely fantastic scenery. Lucky chap 😊 Looking forward to seeing Norman in all his glory

    18. I heard that Royal Enfield stopped making them Pannier frames for the Classic 350 & 500. Don’t know if they’re going to stop the bags as well but seems a ridiculous time to stop making them at a time when sales of the motorcycle are going through the roof in the UK 🇬🇧

    19. Beautiful Yorkshire, Dave. I've ridden around there so many times. What a unique hamlet name, Appletreewick. Last time I rode around there was in 2017 when me and my darling late wife had had Sunday lunch at Cracoes. The white van Man was clearly on a mission. You cannot drive like that in those areas. I drove a Transit for the NHS for 30 years and my driving was an extension of my bike. All the best Dave.

    20. Following on from your close encounter with the white van – I'd be interested in a video where you give some pointers on riding safely through country lanes in the Dales and narrate your thought process behind where you position yourself on the road / change gear / brake etc.

    21. Picked my v7 stone special up on Tuesday. Heated grips fitted, fender extender ready to fit but loving the bike so far. Interestingly I was told first service at 1500km.

    22. Norman will be a great replacement for your previous Splendiferous Green Classic 350, the very same colour Classic I have had now for nearly 2 years. Like you I switched from the brown seats to the black touring seats a move I have never regretted. Looking forward to the new adventure and fettling over the coming weeks. Ride safe and look out for white vans 😂 😊

    23. Looking forward to the panniers being fitted to the 350, if they fit Ok can you share the eBay link please as I am a little nervous ordering from India….always great content 👍

    24. Wow, close call, glad you're safe! Great choice on the Classic 350, and IMHO the best color for one…when you first revealed I was thinking Norman from the lead character in the Alfred Hitchcock thriller "Psycho" 😂

    25. Great vlog but just watch One man one bike and his trip from Scotland to Africa he makes your white van man look like a saint Its over 40 episodes and is truly amazing. How he stays alive is unbelievable. He rides an old v strom thats done 50k and is totally alone is truly amazing. I just know you will be staggered by him oh and by the way he is well in his 60s

    26. I am just wondering was there something wrong with your other royal enfield 350 that you let it go? My hats off to you riders on those really narrow roads in the UK. Be careful.
