HT 2023 – Ep.12 The final stretch

All good things are coming to an end and so is this holiday trip. We will drive the last stretch with the van, starting in the Pyrenees. Enjoy!

It’s twisting well, babe! Shall we pretend we’re on the bike? – Yes! Broemmmm broemmmm… Hello everyone, here is the last part of this holiday trip. After breakfast we are on the road again in a cloudy and rainy France. Via beautiful winding roads we head towards the coast in the east.

Along the way we regularly came across ruins and small castles. But unfortunately we were unable to drone due to the strong wind. So, headwind! Also that! – Also that! And the temperature drops to 27 degrees! So, look at that! Wow, what a climb! 26 degrees now! Oh, beautiful! Tunnel!

Well, I’m curious what the other side of the tunnel is like! Hey, the sun is shining! And we keep climbing! It’s twisting well, babe! Shall we pretend we’re on the bike? – Yes! Broemmmm, broemmm…. [You actually have to turn it towards us] Oh, this is quite a long one!

There’s a bend coming! – Yes, a bend is coming! Yes, that’s a very sharp one! Yes, yes, yes….! We’ve made it, right! It’s getting cold up here, hey! It’s only 25 degrees now. From 31 to 25. – Yes!

We had a bite to eat, a cup of coffee and quickly got back on the road. Because we don’t want to drive on toll roads, we are often guided onto inland roads. This makes the journey a little longer, but we do get to see beautiful things.

We found an F1 hotel in Beynost, where there was just 1 room available. The reason for this was that tomorrow is a national holiday, which was started at 12 o’clock at night with fireworks. Look, sunflowers! All facing this way. Well, how more beautifully can a day start! The exodus has begun!

People from Belgium and the Netherlands, all on their way south. Yes! They do now! Here it’s quiet on the road. Welcome in Luxembourg! Look and that’s all leaving Luxembourg! Well, that was almost it. We are now about 90 kilometers from home, we drive comfortably on the highway, nice and quiet

And uh…yes, we had a lovely round. We’ve been to England, the ABR. Then to the Lake District, only rain! Well, then we decided to go back down again. Newhaven, on the boat. And then we planned to drive down via Dieppe. Yes, something went wrong which resulted in going back home first.

Well, you have all seen that. So the tent was dried and well we took the van and we did that whole lap down. Had a wonderful ride in Spain on the bikes. The bikes have done well. It was nice to be able to make turns without luggage. And uh, drove The Silent Route.

And then, yes, slowly finishing that round and then heading home. Because yes, we have to work again on Monday! I hope you liked it, hope that you had a pleasant time. And please give us a thumbs up then, write something in the comments,
