Brain that early on in the season in a team especially if they’re sort of fairly new team together getting to know each other each other’s ride style camera honing in on Remco Evano the Belgian national champion it’s been a long time since the fanatical FS from Belgium have had

Genuine Contender for the Tour of France to get excited about I was just about to say I was just thinking imagine Belgium in July this year um as you know I’ve spent spent quite a lot some time living in Belgium in the always in the flandrian region and that’s where it is

The hot bed of cycling I’d love to be there just in some bars cafes and the real passionate fans who’ll be glued to the screen at the very start of July have big hopes this is Hugo hofstead one of the second tier sprinters within the race he

And his teammate Pascal aan they’re both pretty quick but if you were the sports director for that team you’d be back in Pascal aaman ahead of Hugo hoffstead as your guy for the stage finish today yeah well they’d be talking amongst themselves as well who’s the

Who’s the man for the day how’s the form as well more importantly and you got to be honest when you’ve got one or two Sprint options in your turn you’ve got to be honest if you’re not quite there and most Riders will feel it coming in they

Know whether they’ve got it and if you’re the only option well you don’t have a choice uh when it’s your specialty you have to try and deliver through C Vio at the front for inos grenadiers rider in the light blue colors for Deon that is D deont the

Former Belgian national champion Goen is doing the job for the Bor H grow Squad and that is all about protecting Primos RIT it’s interesting isn’t it the pace hasn’t well it’s dropped off a little bit now but there’s still that sort of urgency to be at the front but no one

Can move now they’ve got their positions so it’s all about sort of holding that real estate at the front of this Bunch so the teams that are there that’s what they want to do they just want to almost blockade the front of the bunch no one else can move we talked about aeno

Trying to come through to the front if he wanted to try and get some bonification seconds it’s almost impossible to when it’s like this great to see the Aussie national champions Jersey Luke pla in the race looking pretty relaxed down towards the back number 43 that’s good

Bowman the rider from dmar Lisa B who spent most of today’s stage sitting at the front setting the tempo number 44 that’s wo calderan he was pretty good yesterday he finished 35th position 10 seconds down former third place finisher in the Judo deta that was back in the co year of

2020 when it was to gagen Har who won the race and it was W Cal’s teammate J Henley who was second but he’s Plan B for the general classification here for vimar Lisa bike I think it’s noteworthy that that team they’ve given the number one number 41

To matate Jorgenson then you recruit the young American yeah it is it’s it’s interesting isn’t it um yeah it’s I’m curious to see how jensson will go I tell you what they’ll do pretty good teams time Trav tomorrow with that lineup with ay there the a real specialist at

It motivated as well they won the corresponding stage last year 1 kilm to the intermediate Sprint no clear lead out DSM on the left starting to wind up I’m surprised they’ve waited this long now lead Al Trek they’re the first ones to break ranks it’s Auto ver who is now at the

Front followed by Julian Bernard it’s then yasper sturen this is the sort of tempo that we were expecting leading into the intermediate Sprint Kaden Groves has got his teammates around in today from Alpa in kerik he was isolated yesterday Kaden Groves yeah oh look at Nick Oden there just trying to sort of

Box through and he’s managed to get himself but he’s on the left hand oh that was mads pson just manages to keep it upright that was going shoulder toosh shoulder with Danny van Popple mads Pon now moves forward it’s scale Mosa who’s in second spot van Popple is trying to

Get there and Van Popple will be hoping to prevent scal mosa from getting the small time bonus and is mads Pon trying to do the lad out for scal mosa for the general classification for the time bonus yeah he was yes indeed well good on lead Al Trek they were one of the

Only General classification teams that tried to get their guy up there so now we just watched to see is there just a little bit of wind here because suddenly this Tempo has just stayed up here couple of a teams just wanting to amp it up after the Sprint

Clever move by Leo Trek to get the small time bonus for scal mosa very good very clever and you know sometimes you’ll try that and so will every man in his dog but on this occasion they didn’t so in the end for Scala he didn’t have to do a

Lot to get some seconds and it would be easy to fall into that trap that was set by them because you’ve got Matts peton wearing the green jersey going good to see a stronger presence towards the front today for elas kernick the teammates of Caden Groves the Queensland

Sprinter yeah there might have been a few words well they would have been a few words um in the team meeting of the last night of this morning probably to the rest of the team not brave saying come on guys we got to be a little bit better

Than that we only had one guy there and it was our sprin up he need we need a couple more to be able to support him here’s another look at the Sprint or the incident with mads P plenty of experience between those two and there’s scal mosa at the second

Spot he’s the Danish national champion of the red and white colors and it was Pon who got second place yeah so SK he hit the brakes but too late so skel mosa gets a two second time bonus had the right idea they just didn’t quite nail the execution

Yeah now for the Le Tri team this is asper stvin at the back biggest victory in his career Milan San rumo that is a big one that is a big one yeah that was a brilliant win he was a fair way out the back here he was

Almost well at the back of the Convoy so they’ve settled down once again now little FL there to that Sprint and then I thought they might have gone on with it there’s just not much wind today and what there is is predominantly a headwin so there’s the points gain so

Van POA with 10 points six points for pedison scal mosa with four points but importantly for scel Mo he has managed to pick up a 2 second time bonus so he goes from 10 seconds behind the yellow Jersey of Ola Koy to 8 seconds behind back of the race for the quickstep team

This is van vilder he will be the key climbing support for rco throughout this race guard is the m Star Rider he mentioned the fact that his sister Emma was a stage winner in the T France Farm last year from a breakaway there was multiple breakaways that succeeded in

The T France Farm a with last year it was extraordinary race it was brilliant yeah already I’m chomping at the bit for the women’s this year and uh well they spend half of it not in France cuz remember it’s not a three-week grand tour it starts in the

Netherlands finish is a top out to us is it it’s a good course good place to finish bar Victorious to the right of the screen as they have done all day with the strong Presence at the front but here’s a look at the lineup supporting former winner of the race

Primos rogich niiko denz Marco H who’s the rider with the mustache towards the front Bob jles Mato saero who’s also up towards the front Danny van Popple who won the intermediate Sprint and Alexander vlasov who is a former Podium Place finisher in parin Olaf Koy didn’t

Contest in a minute sprin is now making his way back up through the Convoy yellow Jersey nice and composed no cause for panic 43 km remaining and Koy is the favorite to make it back to back today can he get to the Finish Line first shoulder on that bitchman sort of

You know trying to move up just move inches at a time that’s Casper Pon yeah let’s just take it there it is there wow just caught the it already sort of happened just prior of that um he just got a tiny little shove off he went good to see held it up

Though Tempo still hasn’t risen dramatically has it no I put that down to the fact that it’s not a particularly complicated finale so there’s not a huge battle getting into the last few kilometers the sprinters that we heard from before the stage got underway said that it first

Big crunch point is at 1.3k to go they go through roundabout another roundabout at 700 M to go so there’ll be a battle to get into the last mile of the race the last 1600 M yeah and and by then it’s you know they’re flying anyway so I

I can see here they’re going to wait till the very last minute in terms of you know getting their lead out trains probably that 5 6 km to go the tempo will rise between now and then but it’ll only really be that last 5 6 km probably where they

Start to peel off if you like 111 ano dear Adrian p is the rider who is just in front of him from inter Mas and Adrien Petty will be part of the lead out train in support of hman Tyson Frenchman who started his career with the cus team last couple of Seasons

He’s been riding for inter marhe Fred Wright is’s the rider with the Union Jack on his helmet is the British national champion had a couple of near misses on stages at the T of France 2 years ago he was impressive wasn’t he including a stage into St eten when he was in the

Breakaway along with Matts Pon not a great guy to being a break no he was on fire that day wasn’t he P but right yeah he’s he was super impressive like his attitude too still relatively young fr just 24 years of age DM to the right of the screen they

Have not missed the beat they’ve been at the front all day long yeah they have and this is it’s not a bad day to do it because you’re not slow a Tempo you’re not burning matches by holding that Tempo in front cuz it’s easy and sit there and just try and maintain your

Position on the right there got their numbers there’s is it at the back of that train there’s number 15 Lawrence py third on the stage it yesterday not much breathing space within that peleton David McKenzie no they’ve been sort of hugging shoulders now for the last sort of 10 15 minutes

That’s why we saw that Rider just flick off the edge of the road there but yeah this is where you got to be start to switch on switch into race mode I’m searching for number 117 to support number 111 looking for the whereabouts of miles scotson rampco for the suo quickstep

Team the Belgium national champ he was very impressive yesterday he is in fifth position overall at 6 seconds down there’s going to be plenty of hype at the T FR this year when he makes his debut that debut will come on Italian soil with the race getting underway in

Florence looking forward to that back oh yeah very first time starting Italy very first time a finish not in Paris yeah really a historical moment this year’s Tour of France I like the idea of the finish in N yeah I do I like the way it’s going to

Finish as well I I love the history of the finish in Paris it’s absolutely brilliant but with the circumstances of Paris hosting the Olympic Games I’m all up for it let’s embrace it in this era this could be the you know one and only time for another 50 years that we will

Have a finish outside of Paris so yeah I’m with you let’s embrace it enjoy it and yeah it’s going to be great great to Florence will uh rock yeah yeah enjoy our generally get there a few days before the start Lay It Up on pasta pasta and pizzza and

Espresso yeah and Fiorentina steak big Stakes T-bone steak on there yeah and know Del we saw of him once again at the back of the Pelon we’ve barely seen him not at the back of the Pelon Aro Dee it’s only 20 km to go and

At some point the pace is going to have to pick up and he needs the pace to pick up to string the peleton out yeah here he is number 121 he needs the tempo to become infernal so there’s space to move forward that’s right because at the

Moment impossible to S of push your way through you can beg borrow and steal but still look at at that trying to squeeze your way the only way to move up is on the outsides um you can’t move up through the middle would does not happen at this

Point so you’re spot on MD any of the sprinters that have got themselves in a bit of a pickle towards the back the best thing they can hope for now is the tempo to lift a bit so it’ll just string out and then rely on their teammates to

Break the wind for them and take them up I wonder if he’s still suffering any ill effects from the crash that he had a week ago in last them men yeah can knock you around for a bit I mean talking reading up on a couple of the previews before the race start and

Couple of mentions of Luke plat but even talked about you know you had that nasty crash at to Down Under that seems like almost a lifetime ago but it still takes a bit of time to get your body back into shape it’s got to recover from its

Wounds he took a lot of skin off he did and it disrupts what the plan was that’s the schedule to go to altitude Etc the next race he was out on day two I think so he missed four days of racing day three day three so he missed three or so

Days of racing that wasn’t in the plan y probably a good week of absolute recovery uh he did line up at cadel’s race and actually relatively good there but the body’s still trying to heal yeah it takes tan [Applause] after won the National Championship in

Bong for the third year in a row you could hear the real Pride that he had in riding for green Edge or jacoba and there was a moment in the interview were you the one that was interviewing him after the race no almost couldn’t remember markw was Mark renw it was Mark

Renw and one of the statements that he made and it wasn’t a statement that was in response to any particular question was green edg’s back yes that’s right and it had a football team feel about it it was great it was great no he’s he wears his heart on his sleeve and you

Can see that he’s um really proud to to be in the squad and I think we’re all wrapped to scene there and no I like his I like pley attitude well the team has been around since before he even started racing as a kid down at the

Brunswick VR so he’s grown up with it being the essentially the national team and I’m sure that it was the team that he always aspired to ride for yeah that’s true that’s true it’s um you forget they’re so young and the team’s been around a long time 12 years this is

Its 13th season in the Pro pelaton made it debut in 2012 yeah when Simon garens got off to a brilliant start winning the National Road title can’t remember whether he won the two down under as well that year I think he did and then he cleaned up at Milan Sano what a

Season not bad there’s teams that go whole careers as in sponsors management and don’t win a monument no don’t win a stage of the tour to France and the first couple of years it was like they just it was the Jerry Ryan effect you

Know uh touch it and it turns to Gold it was it was incredible another fall y it’s one of the Riders from inter Mar who’s having all sorts of problems straddling to get to the other side of the bike and the rider who has gone down

This is mad mikal it was really good yesterday finished in the top 10 on the stage yesterday yeah well he’s all right it was more like you say it was just an awkward way he landed he was trying to uncp he was half up on the gutter half

Down on the road he’s got going again it looks like his shoe let’s just take another look oh just slipped off front wheel and I think he was the first Rider to go down and he actually took a rider down in front of him his front wheel just went from from

Under him it was the rider from ag2r that was Dorian gon who went down in front of him now a bike change for mikels y Estonian Rider it was fifth on the stage yesterday he’s got quite a Chase on his hands and he is an important rider for the team

He’ll be part of the lead out train for K Tyson well he he should be but with 16 km to go and almost a minute behind they still haven’t opened up the burners here on the front so he might just get a little bit of luck on his side here if

He can quickly get back into the Convoy of cars utilize them as much as possible there’s mads Pon we in the green jersey alongside him is yasper St and those two have been together for quite a while now on this squad jcoa number 83 that’s the r that

They’re working for today that’s Dylan gruna Wagon has Luke durbridge behind him and just in front of him was Al reinders and reinders was one of the riders that gruna wagen requested come to the team with him [Applause] and M he still 40 seconds behind but the

Good news for him is MAA he’s in amongst the Convoy of cars so he will be able to get back to the pelaton but at what cost and how much work does he have to do to get to the front to help his teammate H you

Think he needs to do it as quickly and as efficiently as possible km to go the tempo still isn’t roaring he’s probably got another 5 km before they start to up it up the ATI so he should get back I agree with you here he

Is just legally if we can call it that utilize the cars as much as possible he still got a bit to get back though it is a long Convoy took a little while for the bike change to happen because initially he got up and started going on on the first

Bike that he was on and then he decided that wasn’t quite working properly so he made the change but that was good patience there sitting behind the borano team car for a smid and longer once he crests that little rise then he’ll have the momentum to go to the next car and

The next one and just keep leap frogging his way towards the rear of the main field yeah get back efficiently but also keep your composure Don’t Panic don’t think you got to get back in one or two kilometers you just burn more energy burn more matches it’s the management of those

Resources that is becoming the main source of concern at the front of the race here is lead out track Matts Pon second on the stage yesterday Julian Bernard great Workhorse Tim de clerk he is the rer at the front Ryan Gibbons the South African National Champion utto ver

One of the workhorses on the team as well matus scal MOA their big Pro for the general classification and yasper sturen he’ll be in the thick of the action number 67 at the end of the stage today doing the lead out for the green jersey mads

Pon and Olaf Coy now coming towards the front there he is number 45 see the yellow colors in amongst his teammates from the vizar Lisa bike team but he’s got the big logo on his back because he’s wearing the official race yellow jerseys the race leader yesterday

Stage winner just spotted miles Scot and we’re discussing him before where was he so he’s right there now right towards the front he’s got ano dear just tucked in behind him nicely so went looking for him we found him in exactly the spot that he’s meant to be at the front with

His Sprinter directly behind him we should have just looked there from the start yeah he was always hovering around somewhere and on the left of screen Luke pla is also starting to try and work his way forward he needs to make sure in his aspirations for the general classification he doesn’t get caught

Behind any potential splits in The Paton yeah yeah that’s right you can you roll the die sometimes like that but you know there is a moment you shouldn’t just always be watching your your Rivals you GC Rivals but observe observe what the best are doing um and

The very best generally don’t miss miss much there’s scotson you can see nestled in behind J Lulu he’s got the green and gold bands on former Australian Road Champion just behind him will be his French Superstar dear was a brilliant win at the National Road championships for Miles scotson

He’d been dropped got back on made an attack with 1500 M to go and one solo by just a few seconds I love KY it’s been a fantastic start of the season for the young Dutchman so far this year is probably the second best Sprinter in the Pro on

Just behind Tim mer Pascal aaman big German with the Israel Premier Tech Team he’s been a multiple stage minut at the J to tell you mels has returned to the back of the pedon with 13.2k still to race yeah now the challenge is to he’s got to do it on his

Own as well try and get to the front so you see there he goes straight around the back picks aside this Bob jles with his hand up number four from the the banso team mechanical D gr wagon number 11 17 miles scotton is Right alongside him they’re rubbing shoulders

Wheel and this is a pretty composed change because for Bob jles his role will be to support RIT once this race gets to the mountains on a stage like this Bob I can’t imagine he’d be too concerned if he did concede some time because there’s other guys particularly

Marco and Danny Van Poppel Nicko Dan to take care of well he’ll do his best to get back into the Paton but you be too stressed if he doesn’t so ARA and scotson just getting themselves on the front row there Kaden Grove surrounded by his teammates also trying

To get organized he’s just just behind Aro dear 171 Cen Groves brilliant season last year stage victory in the Jalia multiple stage wins and the green jersey at the volto spia particularly his last stage win the one in Madrid in the Breakaway and then the Breakaway got

Caught and he still won the spring yes yeah that was brilliant Fabio Jacobson number 161 new team for him this year parted company with Patrick lafra and the sudal quickstep team across to the Dutch DSM outfit I tell you what this has got it’s been a big cat but with all of the

Sprinters present here and the names that I just reeled off I can just see this being a chaotic finale even though it is a relatively straight run in couple of chinks there’s around about 700 M to go I can just see this being really choppy Sam Bennett he was pretty good

Yesterday s Bennett he’s overall Fitness is there but his sprinting form is missing a few Watts at the top end the accelerations have started miles scotson has come through to the front in the red colors for ARA well it started a bit earlier than what I expected I thought they might

Have just waited a few more kilometers but they haven’t oh a few Pooles there to rough road a couple of ruts in the road to deal with and it has caused a fall right in the middle of the Pelon yeah yeah I saw it didn’t happen at the

Spot that I said it but and for Sami it’s Lucas over who has gone down the Polish Rider on that team yeah that was a really sort of just ripped up center part of the road there chains off the bike he’s taking a bit of skin off and

That was at speed because they’re just up the heading into that corner ah you’d be frustrated wouldn’t you yeah look at the Riders off the right hitting the puddles oh yeah this is I said it Matt this is going to be a really choppy finale oh he just there was a few you

Can see the ruts in the road and that caused the problem that helped tip him off his bike yeah yeah front wheel just went from under him looking for a bike the car I think the car might have passed him has it the car has gone they’re trying to get the chain

Back on is the hope the derailer is not broken yeah is he just trying to avoid getting the grease on the hands oh yeah well you can you can try and you’ll adjust the front door and hopefully that will do the job but might have been

Jammed a bit at the top there looks like it could have been number two nicod Den up towards the front he’s got Mato saero behind him they’re searching for number one their Superstar recruit of Primos RIT who’s caught further back in traffic this is where you know the GC

Guys you want to sort of Hold Your Position but gee you’ve just got to be you need a little bit of luck you don’t you want to stay out of trouble you don’t want to lose any time and because the pace is been so cruisy all day long it makes the back

End of the stage even more dangerous because there’s more Riders who believe well my legs are fresh I feel fantastic I can be in the mix today y here is the second of the team cars for ARA with a new bike yeah well Lucas can get back on his

Way yeah and he’s resigned to the fact that he will just roll in now he might even try and get back into the Paton but you spot on Matt it’s so many fresh legs we got a whole Paton relatively easy day nobody’s that tired everyone’s motivated that just puts everything a

Little bit more on the edge the denim colors of alpus into kernick third in line for them as their sprinted that’s Caden Groves he hasn’t shown the signs of being at his Peak form so far this season well it is late in the afternoon local time in France you can see by the

Length of those Shadows Bron Kar slips up the inside on the left he’s the rider in the red and white colors of cetus he takes a look across to the white jersey that is the American mat jurgenson and he’s so small for a sprinter he looks more the build of a

Climber Brian cckar than he does a sprinter yeah yeah similar height similar height of Mark Cavendish and probably even slightly taller than Caleb buj but those guys despite being short they’re bulky but not Brian Co up no he is he’s Zippy isn’t he um yeah he really

Is there’s matu bergo he gets the prize for the most combative on the stage today he was in an initial Breakaway going to the first of the categorized climbs he was then on the attack on the second of the climbs and he will also be picking up the king of the mountains

Jersey he’ll be the happiest guy I think at the moment in The Paton day done box ticked even Olf Coy even though he’s leading the race in one yesterday stage he wants to win again today bugo can afford to lose a little bit of ground he still gets that King of the mountains

Jersey at by day’s end and whilst they were down the back of the Pelon still saw plenty of Lotto Destiny jerseys haven’t been able to spot their Sprinter ano Dee either at the back or at the front it is very jam packed at the front here like sardines isn’t it not much

Room it’s like catching the express train home from the city after a long day in the office standing room only there’s Lotto Destiny on the right you can see the turquoise helmets they are try to move forward with the Sprinter Aro Dee 72 km still to race yeah and

Over that speed bump there and if you’re in the middle of the pelaton and a moment of you know just not focus you can easily come down look at them they are absolutely just crammed in off to the left there couple of the visma Lisa bike riders just lost position there’s

Coy in the yellow Jersey though he’s held his spot and he has looked composed just in this last s of 10 minutes you get a little bit of leeway maybe as the yellow Jersey Riders beside you they probably won’t rub shoulders with you just yet they’ll just give you a little

Bit more space that’s what the yellow Jers as he does it is congested at the front still haven’t been able to spot Aro to leave from Lotto Destiny whether he has made his way towards the front end of the pelaton miles scotson doing a fantastic job in support of ano dear

Mads pson was second to yesterday had good team support yesterday and yasper sturen will be back to giving more team support today Olaf Coy not a big lead out train for him not yet anyway and there is UN lease and number 121 still at the back of the Pelon he

Will not be contesting the Sprint today no I was going to say there’s no way he’s obviously made that call decision very early on and this goes back to my question earlier on as he still suffering the effects from the crash almost a week ago at last Cen and based

I’ve seen today I’m thinking yes yeah yeah may be it’s um just try and get through it get some race CS back in the legs and recover that body oh yeah plenty of traffic to try and negotiate Lawrence piy in the blue colors for group armor fdj third on the

Stage yesterday he’s got a couple of teammates still there ring for support s Bennett right hand side of the road you can see the light blue shoulders on the de catho ag2r Squad he’s stuck reason amount of the way back but there’s still plenty of time for him to

Get into the right spot a tight right hand turn coming up oh yeah and this is where they sort of really fight for position into it because they know out of it it’s like an elastic band through they go scotson at the front in the red colors for

ARA trying to give Aro dear in his own words a chance to express himself well they got some numbers at the front now they got four there a that I can see that would be including Demar maybe even five 1 2 3 4 five they had oh no that’s

A cof to Rider well looks of it but they’ve got four at least Ryan Gibbons in the middle in the white colors South African National Champion the camera’s going back to search for anod Del because they two were expecting him to be towards the front and in the thick of the action not

Today he’s got some numbers around him too so he’s got some teammates there four of them together jaob Fang the rider all the way towards the back now 38 years of age a few years ago we would have been talking about him as a potential Contender to win this race

Overall well you see another leftand turn coming up in the distance and then a right hand turn onto the wider road so cross that Railway Crossing if you like over over the railway line right hand turn looks like it opens up up into a dual Carriage

Way and once they get to that point there’ll be plenty of riders who will be scarring to try and get to the front and look at the back look at the difference in the speed they’ve already come out of that right hand turn at the front but no one prepared

To go full gas just yet because it’s still a long way from home and a big wide Road means teams or Riders can come from the back this is when this is the first point in probably 30 km mat that a team now can get organized from the back

And actually come uh from a fairway back as DSM on the left of the screen they’re trying to line up for number 161 here is the second last Rider in line for them you can see the red colors of Omar FR from inos grenadiers he keeps looking

Across the shoulder he is searching for Egan Bernal protecting their General classification Contender Silvan diler from Alpa inder has charged up through the middle now he’s searching for his teammates he has he’s thought he he lost them so he thought the best thing to do

Is just to get to the front and then maybe drift back a bit but he’s not he’s just left dangling on the front now and Sam Bennett has got a good organization in front of him Bennett is number 73 he’s got Oliver narson in front of him D

Deont is also there and leading the charge for them it’s Dorian Gordon that is the lead out train that Bennett has has come here hoping that can deliver him to the last 200 M and then put his nose in the wind and see if he can hold

On it opens up and it is Charge of the Light Brigade time from the back oh yeah well you could have sat back all day waited and waited and waited and you’d still have time to move up DSM fermines they still got numbers at the front

They’re on the very left hand side of the road and at the moment they’ve shown the most control I think of any team well they’re the team that’s been caught out you can see the red colors on the right they were in a fantastic position one kilometer ago and now they’re trying

To recover and get themselves to the front once again yeah all that effort DSM so one Rider’s job done moments before that another Rider peeled off so now they’re down to at least just three there but you can see yakobson is nestled in third position and this is

Durbridge he is now up towards the front Turbo durbo doing the job in support of Dylan gruna wagen meanwhile the black colors of chuda Pro Racing they are working tirelessly to try and bring decline up towards the front there are bodies flying everywhere because the

Road is so wide oh yeah it’s very very choppy so now DSM Fermin completely lost their position for the first time they’ve been at the front all day and suddenly they found wanting so they’re on the right side of the screen now judal with Tren in now absolutely giving

It everything fantastic performance this is what he was brought to the team for he’s experiened he’s got them into a good spot and he swings out of the way can the rest of them finish it off it is a WHL pull at the front mads Pon with

The elbow out and pushing Brian cckar into the wind yeah Pon he’s just he’s good at muscling his way towards the front here where are the other sprinters I think Gren is there so Gran’s in a pretty good position he’s in an okay spot but that

Was LCA mesg who was towards the front checking across the shoulder for Dylan gruner Wagon another charge coming through the middle the blue colors of Alpa IND Deering they are working in support of Caden Groves now it’s Van Dyk at the front for vizar Lisa B yeah less

Than a kilometer to go so not one team has had full control here this is surprising it’s been ones and twos that have done the job Vima Lisa bike though and where is their team captain The Man in the Yellow Jersey he looks to be a

Long way back that he’s a long way back he’s so far back that he’s not in the pitcher Danny van Popple is there for the Bor hansgo team and the moves coming from behind for to kathon they bringing s Bennett forward and looking to see if gruna wagon can get into the slipstream

Gin Tyson is also picking up the wheels as he weaves his way through now it’s chuda who trying to launch decline it’s van Popple in front he was the lead out sensation for wellsford Down Under but it’s decline who will deny him and the Dutchman gets there decline for the [Applause] [Applause] win 29 years of age he’s barely had an opportunity in a world tour race mat Tron set it up with two 2 km to go and out decline after four second place finishes so far this season fittingly wins on stage two yeah there was plenty

Of talk that he was knocking on the door and credit to the team timing timing was the essence there and look he had to fight and box at the end just watch here in the replay it opened up for him he still had a teammate at the front then he found the

Gap he utilized the slipstream of Van Poppel that was the slingshot for him that last slingshot from Van Popple and in the end a comfortable Victory gragan there he was in third position he sort of was boxed a bit he just couldn’t get out gr ofan but in the end it didn’t

Matter the climb was too quick too good Lawrence P second yeah third yesterday second today yeah he’s in great great form isn’t he look at the celebration that is marel zilla who is the first of the Riders from chudo to celebrate as he was the last of

The lead out riders for the stage winner decline that’s a big win Bennett was there but again left wanting and it was a choppy Sprint it was messy wasn’t it it just had all the hall marks of that thankfully crash on that running one they cannot quite believe it huge credit to number

215 with the goate Mato Trenton yeah he he was brilliant wasn’t he and he he’s got that raw power Tren in you know sort of one minute effort and at that end of the race that’s what you need here’s a look at how they lined up behind behind him it was decline ahead

Of py gruna wagon van Popple Tyson Bennett and then it was Van gist in seven San Bennett’s getting closer but he’s he’s still not with that sharpness that he had when he went a couple of stages in the green jersey at the T France no exactly and you know these

These Riders sprinters popping up each year new sprinters it’s a great story we’re so focused on the Next Generation coming through to see a 29y old get that Victory is huge and lence piy with the time bonus has moved into the yellow Jersey a huge performance for the Kiwi

Yeah he also has the green jersey for the points classification and the white jersey as the best young Rider burgo the polka dots but piy is the story of the jerseys he is the story of the day and I was just waiting for my screen to update

Because I thought surely with uh the Alo Jersey on the line and the current where of the Alo Jersey nowhere to be seen in the finish I thought the bonus seconds he collected from yesterday and then of course today would just about put him in the yellow fantastic result for Lawrence

Py and the en classification he is on equal time with pedon and Coy with those time bonuses but with these stage placings being Superior with a second place finish and a third place finish on a countback he is the race leader when was the last time at New Zealand

L well kiwi won a stage in this area in 2010 that was Greg Henderson yeah I think it’s is it a first it’s first I can think of yeah huge oh look at that replay there the van Popple and the Tor Rider that was was it Trenton no Trenton had already

Done his job by it was Zill yeah yeah so he was prepared to box on in the end it actually worked out well he nestled in behind and then van Poppa was sort of left there with the decision to well do I go now he sort of made off the visma

Lisa bike rider then he decided time to go and that actually worked out better for Tuda you can watch here Gap opens up and this is where Van popp’s got two lengths on him but it didn’t matter he was tiring he was able to just slingshot himself off piy was coming at him

Though and grona vagant just ran out of Road and there is py he was interviewed before the stage got underway and spoke about wanting to take more responsibility wanting more leadership within the team he’s backed it up he has walked his very own talk yeah time to stop for a

Photo I wonder if they even realize that that is the new race leader yeah oh this is huge if in fact he is the first New Zealander to lead the parin in the history this is to myug moment yeah same he’s enjoying the moment and rightly so grp Farmer fdj they will be Delighted theyve invested in the Kiwi he was part of their development squad for two seasons this is his second year with their world tour team and for total energies with mat bergo he’ll be stepping out onto the podium shortly as well to collect the polka dot Jersey so the stage classification once

Again it was other decline with the victory py in second spot gruna wagon third van Popple just went a little too early van Popple today Tyson four fifth Bennett in sixth vanest in seventh Pon eighth aan in ninth spot and it was Mato saero rounding out the top

10 here’s another look at the Sprint finish and you described it as messy and messy it was yeah you could just see 5 km out I thought this thing is going to be absolute chaos and it was too many fresh men and in but in the end not not one

Team had full control M as we saw look at that look at the different jerseys so many different teams represented and Fabio Jacobson for all the work that was they still still pushing up the rankings Welcome to the tour what’s what’s it mean like to uh to win at this

Level yeah it means a lot I think I’ve been close a couple of times and I was chasing uh a will to Victory and uh yeah it’s nice to to grab it like this it was like everybody could see it was a great team performance we stayed really calm

We have Mato uh in in our group and he he knew exactly what to do and he said we had to stay calm until the end and then he did an amazing pool and then I have the two dutchies in front of me and they did an incredible incredible job

It’s a nice Revenge after yesterday yesterday was a little bit too hard for you today you had to strike yeah yeah yesterday uh we have of course Mato in our group and uh we were sure that he could make it and for me it was like a a

Gamble I think I would not have made it and uh he had a he had a good shot and went seventh and today was all uh all in for me so it’s really nice to finish off can you take us through those those last few moments that uh that final 200 M to

To win the stage yeah I saw the last 200 and I was a little bit boxed in uh by my own teammate and I screamed to the left so he opened up and I could go to the to the wheel I think it was I I don’t know

Actually who it was from uh Bora maybe from poo I don’t know yeah so I could come with speed and and yeah I could keep it to the line so was nice it’s great for you it’s also great for the team a young team that’s developing and

Developing yeah yeah and we we making big steps and and uh yeah I’m also personally I’m making steps every year I’m I’m a little bit older maybe than the rest but I’m still making steps so that’s nice to see that uh that I still can make uh make Improvement and it’s

Super nice with the guys doing this thank you very much congrats and that is a fantastic message to take out of it he’s 29 years of age there’s a real Trend towards hiring Riders from the Juniors straight into the world tour well this guy has taken the scenic route

To get there but he’s managed to get there yeah and and when you when you get there at this age there’s a certain amount of maturity that you can’t buy so um n absolutely brilliant and it was a great interview and number 215 he got a lot of

Mentions within the interview didn’t he Mato trentin yeah for good reason well we’ve we’ve seen him over the years haven’t we have big victories himself and you know what’s important now treny knows when his opportunities are there and when they’re not his opportunities he can be just as uh important in a

Victory like he was today how about that for countback Lawrence py leading ahead of Mads Pon and Olive Coy it’s then mat Jorgenson Remco Evol followed by Egan Bernell matus scel mosa with a 2 second time bonus today up into seventh at 8 seconds behind followed by then Groves Bennett and Bon

Xia group arm fdj they finished in second position overall in this race last year with David goodu who hasn’t missed a beat so far in this year’s race we’ve hardly spotted him which is a good thing for for their climber had some good support at the

Back end of the stage today Lawrence py particularly from Sam Watson young British riter on the team is another look at the final kilometer this is Eduardo aini on the front for the vimar Lisa bike Team yeah and at this point the the yellow Jersey is nowhere to be seen it

Not even in the top 20 so so many a lot of the sprinters and look no real fold of their own I’ll I’ll give them a bit of a c blanch today just because of the chaos um at the end there um if you if you’re wrong side of the road at a

Certain point that was it your race was over um because it was just so choppy and sometimes you make your own luck and look piy is one that’s just showing his it’s not just luck great form that he’s backed up two days in a row and Van Popple at this point he

Probably thought he just about had it he just faded at the end there he had to jump early he went slightly too soon and ol of Cy yesterday stag when have finished in 17th spot yeah there you go and he was so convincing yesterday no that was a that was a

Really not rare Sprint finish cuz they’re always choppy but that was chaos that was chaos and there was no team that had control at all on the running but the difference between winning and say the guy on the left who we talked about Bennett you know down in

The top four five um it’s still a big gap the emotional Gap is enormous Bennett was six on the stage today but he can see a win is within his Gras I believe his confidence is building if it’s not it should be built yeah I agree

I agree with you absolutely and and he sort of alluded to that before the start of the stage he said look I’m feeling good Fitness is good everything’s good it’s just one or 2% um and he’s been around the block you don’t you don’t sort of talk like that

Do you when you’ve got the experience he’s got the wide roads actually made it more chaotic than narrow roads twisting and turning into town yeah so it gave more opportunities for other Riders to move up towards the front was mads Pon and Kaden Groves coming together Caden

Groves had to really push his way through yeah you got to put the brakes in the back pocket in the last couple of kilometers days like this can’t have any fear at All Dylan gr wagen finished in third position today but once the team time trial awaits tomorrow 27 kilm good toour for the Dutch after two stages I was going to say yeah very good Start and again we’ve got a ride of dominating the Jersey classifications just as we saw yesterday with olive Coy we’ve now got Lawrence py with the yellow Jersey the green jersey and the white jersey of best young R de to win today that is for sure 29 years of age he first ever world to a victory he hasn’t had too many opportunities at world to a level Judah Pro cycling it’s a team that’s in the second division of the sport it’s the biggest team that he’s

Ever ridden for I’m pretty good yeah thank you you bik good bike fast Bike A the kin now steps out onto the podium he’s had four second place finishes this year until this morning he’ll go to bed as a stage winner parin as the winner for the first time of a world tour race this this is a big big day for the 29y

Old it’s going to take a long time to wipe that smile off his face yeah I think it’ll take a bit of sinking in and it’ll over the dinner table tonight there’ll be a little celebration no doubt but for the team you know they’re all pretty pumped and you can see them

All embracing there at the end job well done again just referring back to his interview talking about trening so knowing what to do and saying we got to wait be calm and patient and wait till the very end and he said that’s what we did that was the difference really they

I said one team didn’t have full control at the end they did I guess they left their run until the final 2ks and that was the experience of again of Mato Trenton decline with the win ahead of py grun wagen Van Popple Tyson Bennett van gist Pon aaman and Soo now for the

Yellow jersey for the kiwi [Applause] it’s been a huge season for Lawrence py winner of the K 11s Great Ocean Road Race third on the stage yesterday second on the stage today he is the new leader of Parry n and for French team this is enormous massive massive on two France for a French team for a New

Zealander leading par yeah a little bit of history today Sensational well they’ll be back up on the podium to collect the green jersey as the leader of the points classification and the white jersey is the leader of the best young Rider classification He’s in no rush though to step off stage and he’ll have plenty of interviews to do afterwards so Lawrence py is on top it’s a countback he’s equal on time with pedon and Coy but he’s been the most consistent a third and a second place finish he’s the race leader it’s in

Jorgenson Evol Bernal scal MOA Groves Bennett and baron xia stage three awaits it’s a big one it’s the team time TR it’s 27 km and we’ll see if py can hold on to Yellow we hope you can join us then
